To poster Raymond Duke,
There is no "Whitey" racist video from Michelle. That is a right wing blogger lie. Do your research before you post garbage like that. That's the problem a lot of people have with Obama - a genuine fear, with old predjudices and bigotry that fuel hate or dislike. This is exactly the kind of cowardice and division we don't need in America. If you don't like him, then that's ok, but at least give better reasons to dislike him than inuendos and rumors; (he's a muslim, he's a criminal, slimey, etc). Start talking hard evidence about his policy that you dislike, because truly Obama and Clinton have almost exactly the same policy stances.

With Billary gone, there is no need for money from corporate lobbyist and special interest groups. McCain is poor in raising money (and has some principals compared to Bush), there Obama can raised double the McCain money thru "$5 internet donors" alone.

Good decision Obama. Another proof of your "Judgement" that qualified you to be the next prez.

To Thoughtful Democrats Everywhere:

I have real suspicion about the majority of the purported Clinton supporters who message on this (and other) boards about hating Obama and the Democratic party and supporting McCain in November. The vitriol is so over the top and divisive, and the fundamental message is almost always the same -- abandon the democratic party, never give money again, vote for McCain, etc. The internet is a huge playground for those who enjoy masquerading. I think that Republicans with a "weaken the enemy" agenda - Rush Limbaugh types, not the run of the mill Republicans - are writing most of these messages, signing with a female name, and cackling at how "smart" they are. I bet most of them actually look like unattractive, corpulent and greasy Limbaugh types too. Are hundreds of thousands of progressive women really going to vote FOR the Iraq war and AGAINST a woman's right to choose? Doesn't make sense. They are much smarter than that.

Obama has already demonstrated how to remain polite and respectful of one's opponent even in the heat of the battle. Here's what I suggest: from now on Obama supporters don't need to respond the the supposed Clinton messages with attacks back at Clinton or Clinton's supporters. The target usually doesn't exist. Respond with appropriate support of what Democrats everywhere believe in. The party will come together. Bitter internet Republicans hoping to seed dissension will fade away and go back to looking at porn or hate sites. We've fix this country and make it a world leader and a nation to admire once again.

I wish the people will start looking at the positive side of this country. If you want ot be negaitive then move to a place wher people don't care about nothing, laws or each other. It is time we take back our country that our forefathers have promised us. Look and listen people a new day is coming and we need to unite and bring the United States of American back to origanal state and get create more love to this country, haters hate no more and if you want to hate go where others are hating and see how much you will be appreciated. Hillary is bitter and is causing a lot of confusion but Obama is not going to let her steal this show.

Rock on Obama because there are millions of Americans behind you and the new begining of a New Country.

Truth...Here is the truth.... You OBVIOUSLY care little about the issues.
If you did, there is NO WAY You or your family would make such a leap.
So tell the truth is "experienced" code word for "white"?

Truth,

You just cannot stand defeat, can you? Hilary lost, so get over it.
Who cares who you vote for now. If you were a true DEMOCRATE, instead of just voiting for the colour of ones skin, then you can go vote for McCain. You will certainly will not be missed, and this goes for your whole family and friends.

She says she is a friend of Obama, well, if she is a friend, I will not want her to be my enemy.
Whe is just in it for herself and herself only. As long as she can be the PRESIDENT, SHE DOSE NOT GIVE A HOOT.

GET OVER IT TRUTH, YOU DO SOUND LIKE A BABY BOOMER
60 to 80 are you not??????

I am please to see Obama take the nomination, this has truly been a historic election. However now its time to focus on uniting the party behind Obama to take back the whitehouse for the people. I understand some Hillary supporters maybe angry or bitter from these results but voting McCAIN Is only voting against your own best interests. We have to start looking at the real issues that are eating away at the foundation of our great nation. America will never realize its full potential so long as people vote out of fear, hatred, racism or gender bias. True Obama maybe young and not nearly as seasoned (and i do mean seasoned) as John Mccain. But i also feel that mean he has NOT been nearly as currupted by the politics. McCain represents the old ways of American politics ideal and fears. Its time for this country to stand for something new. The winds of change are coming ,get down or be left behind

Brett fromAustin....
You challenge Obama to win the 18 mil who voted for Clinton.

FYI... 9 mil of you have already stated you will vote for him.

The other 9mil... some will see the light... others will not...

by their own choosing.

But I like those odds!

As Emeril would say, BAM! On day two of his general election campaign, Barack already starts delivering on some of his promises. Holy cow, a politician that doesn't spew BS rhetoric that never pans out?

Can we elect Obama to his second term now too, please? That would save the country money for the next election... Hehe

Thanks to Tony Rezko"
---------------
Rev. Wright is a dead issue. He's a known quantity, and if he says something else stupid, that would be par for the course.

Tony Rezko is also a non-issue. He's already been convicted, and Obama's name didn't even come up in the trial. There's no connection.

You'll just need to find another excuse to hate him.

My vote goes to McCain come November.
I supported Hillary, the first MOST qualified presidential candidate.

Hillary is such a honorable person. She was treated with disrespect. I am sorry I can not stand this.

Now, my vote goes to McCain, and so my family and friends.

NOW Obama proposes a” Lincoln/Douglas” debate to counter McCain’s initial proposal for a debate (such a debate is PRECISELY what Hillary proposed but Obama declined). NOW that he has his own thing in the bag (with the money of lobbyists), Obama wants to keep lobbyists out of the DNC -- except that he will plant ANOTHER one of his operatives in the DNC -- just like before. NOW that he has his own thing in the bag, he talks "tough" about terrorists -- just like always. It makes me furious how Obama continues to steal other people’s ideas (even “Audacity of Hope” – Jeremiah Wright’s sermon) -- and make them his own. IS ANYBODY LISTENING? What a fake and opportunist! I don’t applaud or support people like that! I prefer ORIGINAL thinkers.

Obama's wife "Whitey Rant" video (it''s actually a DVD) was offered for sale at Trinity United. It features a 2004 conference at the church dealing with racial issues. Obama's wife made the "why'd he.." refedrence at another event asking questions about President Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina which took place in 2005. The rant video exists and we'll see it in October.

Come on people! I'm sorry but I can't put Obama up on
a pedestal....he is first and foremost a POLITICIAN.
He went to a church for 20 YEARS - same pastor - and
yet all of a sudden he doesn't agree with this pastor's
views????? How convenient. His rise in popularity
has been media-driven from the beginning - which
if you think about it, is a scary thing indeed....

Charlotte, how are you helping yourself? You sound childish and bitter. To all the Hillary Clinton supporters who will vote for McCain, please show me your intellect. Which of McCain's policies do you agree with? You vote for a candidate who reflects your own positions and ideals right?
It brings me to tears that people like you will keep my cousin in a war, my family fearing for his life every day because your of own stubbornness and inability to develop rational thought. When you vote McCain in this election, or vote for a candidate that is not a nominee, don't forget the blood that will be on your hands. You are no better than Bush or the other people who wrongfully started this war and sent AMERICAN's to their death in Iraq. Hopefully you all will be able to sleep tonight, since my family has not since my cousin left.

Look, Hillary supporters, I give you mad respect because you hung in there even when people told you impossible. You have more in common with Obama than you realize outside of Democratic policies, didn't you have the nerve to hope that your candidate would make it beyond all odds. How is that showing loyalty to Hillary by trying to weaken a party that she loves and represents by voting for McCain and not supporting Obama. Oh, by the way, she will be announcing on Saturday that she will indeed do just that. I don't understand the thinking. Are you so closed minded that you would rather see another Bush Administration out of spite and revenge? I pray that the Hillary supporters stand up to the image that I have of them, and that's of being loyal Democrats.

He's still under the thumb of oranized labor...and let's not forget the radical black special interests represented by his closest supporters (who he has since greatly distanced himself from--for a time). He'll fill the cabinet with wierdo's and miscreants and reverse one hundred years of progress overnight.
if you're black, American Indidan, female, hispanic...you may gain some benefit from an Hussein Obama Presidency. If you're a hard working white male--you're in deep crap!!

Thanks Democrats--you can always be counted on to be fools.

This is welcome change! The right thing to do as well as politically smart. Have we seen John McCain doing this sort of thing? Doubtful - he needs the RNC money, so he won't rock the boat. Way to go, Barack!.

To Sen Obama's supporters:

Please be sensitive to the hurt of Sen Hillary's supporters.
Let them cool off; If they write anything negative, ignore them.
It's like what happens when a relationship breaks up , everyone needs time to heal.

Your candidate won. He was gracious, please let your conduct be a good reflection of the Sen Obama.

P.S. I am an Independent.

People that are supporting Hillary need to understand one thing, the election was not stolen from her. While she might have been a strong President, I would have voted for her had she been the nominee. She ran a poor campaign though. You can't get around the fact that she changed her message every month, she had Bill out causing problems for her in the background. She had issues raising money to keep her campaign running. All of those issues resulted in a poor image of her being potrayed to the public. Yes she won in some areas, and Obama won in other area's with different demographics, the fact remains that Obama does need the support of Hillary's supporters, just not at the cost of having to put her on the ticket.

The 2 of them nearly identical policies with their health care, Iraq exit strategy and so fourrth. If you take time to step back and look at the issues rather than the person you'd realize that Obama is the way to go if you are a 'true' democrat and not a flavor of the month type of voter.

I voted for Gore in 2000, and Bush in 2004. I regret supporting Bush in 04 due to his failed strategies, and policies. It's time to get someone in office that can start to clean up the mess that this administration has left us with. If you enjoy reading about Iraq in the news and more US Soldiers and Marines in the news, then Mccain would be the person to vote for. This conception that he is drawing that leaving Iraq will leave the US in danger is a joke. We are no safer now, than we were in 2003 when we invaded. It's time for a change, it's time for an end to this costly war. If you are so blinded by emotion and are voting mccain just because Hillary lost, or you want to write Clintons' name on the Ballot you are doing nothing to promote a change in this election. And if we get 4 more years of war because you're bitter that Clinton lost, then you have yourself to blame for not standing up for what Clinton and Obama stood for.

Dean used his organizations in all states when he was presidential candidate and used DNC money to build Obama compaign organizations or support him. I was Dean strong supporter and fund raiser. Now you got it. It is Dean create Obama. Remember, Dean was also strong anti-war candidate, all his compaign organizations went for Obama is natural. Obama better choose Clinton. Otherwise, I will predict that he loss to John McCain. Because so many of Clinton supporter are so angry.

Democrats, let us come together! I like Hillary, but Obama is the nominee. He never insulted Hillary during the course of the campaign, he simply played by the rules and won. Hillary supporters - stop blaming Obama for Hillary's loss. We have to unite! Do you really want the republicans to stay in The White house? Come on.

Charotte,
Get over yourself. The election is over. We all know that you are Republican infiltrator. Stay off the blogs your work is done. You and I both know that you were never going to vote for Barack or Hillary anyway. Go to GOP sites where you can do the most good

Folks let's forget the so so democrats and throw all of our support to Senator Obama! This man will make history. This man will restore the country to the one's it belongs to. "The People"

Those- that want to vote for another George Bush presidency have the right to do do. We don't need any nay sayers on this band wagon. Any intelligent democrat will vote for this candidate!

I am so happy to see old Washington/Politics departing (Billary & Bubba). Change is hard to accept, but very necessary. If you are to dumb to see, the old fat cats have been getting richer, and the average person like you and I struggle every day to maintain a decent living!

NH for OBAMA08!!!!!

I think he should propose (or the DNC) to fix the whole primary mess as well. No better way to admit the flaws in the system nd that every RULE ABIDING vote should count.....

The DNC did the right thing in enforcing the rules, after all what is a democracy if it does not impose some rules and order to make sure everyone has a fair chance. But the rules need to change to make sure that MI and FL never happen again and that we have a better system in 2012.

Obama won any way you slice FL/MI, so people need to get over that.... but it still shows that after >200 years we are still a work in progress.

While I completely disagree with how the DNC handled FL and MI (in the beginning AND when it decided to re-seat any delegates - they broke the rules, stick to your word and don't seat them), I don't believe that's a valid reason not to vote for the better candidate in the general election.

Bill, an independent voting for change: Obama.

I have really grown tired of all the negativity on both sides of the democratic divide. I think that if this is the year that we truly "change" the way politics is done then it must first begin with the reality that this is the year that people our voting for individuals and not a party. The days of voting democratic or republican just for the sake of being a democrat or republican are over. This has been clearly demonstrated in the fact that states continued to vote for Clinton even though it was a far gone conclusion that she couldn't secure the nomination.

That being said, the challenge for Obama is to convince voters who did not vote for him initially, why they should vote for Barack Obama, the person. To simply say that he's a democrat & McCain is a republican isn't going to be to enough. Change means that the rules in how we vote have also change.

To my follow Clinton supporters, I ask that we take a breath & allow Obama to speak directly to us and tells us what specifically he will do as President that will be better than what John McCain will do as President.

To all Obama supporters, you must understand that the more you respond to Clinton supporters with negativity the more you harden their resolve. That leaves the option of either 1) taking the approach (as some have already stated of " we don't need them & can win it without them or 2) It is better to provide a environment of unity and communication that one of acrimony.

I for one vote for option #2. OBAMA 2008!
