Oprah hit the trail for Obama during the primary season.
Oprah hit the trail for Obama during the primary season.

(CNN) - Oprah Winfrey is ecstatic over Barack Obama’s apparent victory in this year’s Democratic presidential race.

"I'm euphoric, I've been doing the happy dance all day,” she said in a statement released Wednesday I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle and what this means for all of us, the new possibilities for our country.”

The talk show host, who campaigned for Obama in several key early primary states, added: “And if he wants me to, I'm ready to go door to door."

Oh God! Please take Oprah away!!! I bet she's the one who funded the majority of the Obama campaign. Oprah needs to do what would be best for someone of her stature and BUTT OUT OF POLITICS!!! Obama's supporters are all the same...an oligarchy of rich folks running the country. Typical typical....this Hispanic, 20 yr. old is voting for McCain!

AS A STRONG DEMOCRAT, I WILL ALWAYS BE LOYAL TO SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON, WHO SHOULD BE THE DEM. NOMINEE!

OBAMA / KENNEDY
Barack please pick Caroline for your VP.
This is a change not only America will appreciate, but the World.

you have no concept of reality. Obama supporters have been more than respectful to a candidate that has shown little to no respect for the future of the democratic party. Hillary supporters continue to show their lack of grace by actually voting for a president who will kill more of our young men and women and bankrupt our nation instead of supporting their beliefs. So I'm sorry who is being disrespectful?

scott   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

Clinton as vp Yes and it is in the easy math.
Obama people will still vote for obama if she is vp even if they don't like it. vote loss = 0
Clinton people will not vote for Mcane if she is on obama's ticket. They want her to be around and still in the spot light, a real Hilliary fan will not turn there back on her and will likely vote for Obama even if they don't like it. Vote loss to Mcane = 0

0 vote loss = + – 36 million votes. 36million votes = WIN!
will not matter if people are a little bitter about the pair up because it will not change the vote.

To Obama Supporters:
Whether you admit it or not, Clinton supporters are the hottest thing in the country right now. You gotta treat them with dignity and respect and you gotta keep trying, even if they slap you on the face at first attempt.

To Clinton supporters:
There will always be some obnoxious Obamanites who do not reflect the character of the man who would be our next President. Please ignore and keep your eyes on the prize.

Thank You. Let the healing begin.

With due respects to Senator Obama for running a good campaign, despite needing four times the money and the title of "media darling" to win.

His supporters need to realize a few things… They have been rude and disrespectful to Senator Clinton therefore, rude to her supporters… What they are failing to realize is that HE NEEDS HER, SHE DOES NOT NEED HIM and we will NOT support him, which means, he will in fact not have enough votes to win in November…

I would start being a bit respectful if I were you…

***************************************************************************
B – NYC June 4th, 2008 8:17 pm ET

Paul – Seattle… He will NOT get our vote… He has done nothing for our country, nothing for his state and has no experience… We will respect her by writing her name in.

Obama supporters have been so disrespectful and rude and that sir, is a slap in the face to us, the supporter.

B – NYC June 4th, 2008 8:20 pm ET

Dance at this…
No votes from Clinton supporters… You treated her like crap and the Democratic Party was corrupted and unfair… Our votes did NOT count.

Dance away…"

HRC was more disrespectful to Obama after she lost after 2-5-08 when she did not become the nomenee and started to throw the kitchen sink at him. Yes, it would have been historic for her to have won the nomination and if only she would have planned for after 2-5-08, she would have won...Obama just ran a better campaign from the beginning, period.
People like you, B-NYC, just make the women's image look like sore loosers and whiners and if the Hillary supporters want to vote for McCain, you are putting what has been fought for back to the roaring 20s, our voting rights, women's right to choose, etc, etc. I am a white 61 year old woman and am proud to vote for our first African/white American. God bless these United States.

Geri   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

I think Oprah should donate several million dollars to the poor, homeless, and hungry people in the United States. I dont really care what she does but her money is something she brags about so she should do the right thing with it. By the way Obama supporters let it go...Clinton knows she is not the nominee but you all have been so nasty thru this whole campaign. Get a life and quit taking nasty lessons from Michelle.

Ellie   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

Who cares about Oprah? She is just throwing her weight again... and we all know she has a lot of that, like cash. She can have her candidate. I am officially denouncing the democratic party and registering as independent. Barack Hussein Obama came from nowhere and "talked" his way to to the back porch of the White House. That's as close as it gets.

BettyT   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

I totally disagree that a write-in for Hillary or a vote for McCain will make Hillary look bad. It simply shows the lack of support for Obama, who is about as qualified to run for president as I am. Ask yourself exactly what it is that he has accomplished. At least with McCain, we know what we will get. Let's hope he picks a good running mate, because he's likely to kick the bucket before his term is up. Hillary in 2012.

Agnostic Democrat   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

O.K. all you haters from the delusional Hillaryland:

It's time to put on your big people underwear, leave the sandbox with your toys, educate yourself from blind ignorance and become adult Democrats; or please send your (grand)sons, (grand)daughters, husbands, wives, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors to fight in the 2 current – (1 unnecessary) – and endless wars under Grampy McSham; or to the unemployment or bread and gas lines. Your choice, obstinate fools!

Hillary and Mr. Obama's differences are subtle. One of them just happened to win the better played game. Face reality and honor your candidate's minor differences in policy and purpose in an alternative delivery system.

k williams   June 4th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

Winfrey,
You do your dance while I throw you out of my living room. You have been so disrespectful to Hillary. So I don't vote for you or Obama.

kris   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

To the diehard Hillary supporters that think they'll be punishing Obama by voting McCain – you won't be. You'll be punishing your country and yourself. Obama and Hillary agreed on 90% of the issues, remember. Obama will enact 90% of Hillary's proposals. McCain will enact ZERO, and will work to cripple the house and the senate with veto power, and will install conservative Scalia-like judges on the Supreme Court. Think about it.

James   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Can someone just explain to me why a Hillary supporter would vote for a candidate so far from their beloved candidates policies? Thats what I don't get and it really only leaves 3 options left for why they would not vote for the candidate more inline with their own:

1. Bitter
2. Selfish
3. Racist

Quite frankly I don't want to be in the same pool as those people and they are much more inline with the current admin and McSame.

kat   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Do your dance Obama maniacs I'll vote for Mccain in Nov. I don't mind being the spoiler Obama doesn'.t have an original thought in his head except for 'black power' dumacrats unite –not on your life' ps' I won't ever watch oprah again either.

United   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

"also, if you want Clinton supporters to back Obama, then start being a ittle nicer AND STOP DENEGRATING OUR CANDIDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

I don't understand your logic Brett (and other clinton supporters)

Why would you or any other Clinton supporter Vote for McCain because of what some jerk on these post have said?

Paul – Seattle is right. If you don't support Obama the only one your going to hurt is the candidate you love so much. If obama lose Clinton is going to take the blame. Everyone is going to say she split the party. Her Legacy and Bill's will be ruined.

Stop paying attention to these fools on these blogs. Most of the are Rep trying to divide our party.

Obama has giving Clinton, and her supportes ALOT of RESPECT.

Sarah   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Who really cares what she thinks? She is a know it all who thinks she is relevant to this election. If I want political advise it is not going to be from a gossip like Oprah.

Jerry Willer   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

You left wingnuts must be so desperate to nominate this loser of a candidate. We've all heard a lot candidates whine, but Obama takes the cake. He stands there saying "Oh, we're not going to talk about our religion, and oh we're not going to talk about taking corrupt money. Listen Obama, we're going to talk about what we da*n well please. You and your ilk don't define what the election is about, the voters do. For a man that looks like the second term of Jimmy Carter, you have a lot of gall to keep comparing McCain to Bush. For someone that has never reached across the aisle to be critical of a man that has is as slimy as it gets. Obama is so full of himself, now he even claims he can stop the polar ice caps from melting. What a load of cr*p this little man from Chicago is.

Tim   June 4th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Hillary supporters you go right ahead and vote McCain into office. Not that anyone really thinks any Democrat would do this, but really, if you want to, go ahead.

It can be the final nail in the coffin of the Clinton legacy – the family who handed the keys to the Whitehouse to the Republicans.

Do you really want to be blamed, along with the Clintons, for McCain's victory?

McClinton Voter   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

Check out Oprah's new "anti-religion" friends on you tube. This is the type of people that put obama where he is.

Breyona   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

This race has been exciting and extremely emotional for all included. Obama supporters are estatic that he won and Clinton supporters are upset that she lost. Understandable! Supporters and Media for BOTH campaigns have been mean and spiteful to BOTH candidates! What i don't understand is how a Democrat could EVER vote for McCain. Only if you take EVERYTHING that you (as a Dem), Obama and Hillary believe in and FLIP IT ON ITS HEAD could you vote for McCain. Just because your candidate did not win... does not mean that her POLICIES didn't!! Give HOPE a chance. Listen to what Obama says and does, not his supporters!

dabrasco   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

i seriously think some of you need to get off the internet for a minute
and find some real perspective in this election.

too many immature comments on here. its a shame.

APS in Hawaii   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

And as for voting for McCain, you can count on it. I do not vote for incompetence and someone who has no plan. Obama is a loser and it is sad that the news media and his supporters were so dirty during the campaign. Now you will pay the ultimate price, you have lost the election because you chose a candidate that is too liberal. That is what Hillary offered the Democrats, someone who was a moderate, instead the base forgot it takes more than the base to win in November. Go McCain, I wills end the Democrats the only message they know, my vote for the other party for the first time in my life. No Drama, NO to Obama.

Beverly   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

Oprah please sit down and be quite!!!!! If I were you I would worry about your declining popularity. As an american I'm tried of voting for the lesser of the 2 evils and once again thats what we have.

Garth   June 4th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

The way I see it is that if you hate Barack Obama that much and are willing to vote for John McCain or write in Hillary Clinton, then you are a Republican. Go look in a mirror and say I am a Republican. I want 100 years of war, I want Big Oil to get richer, I want my house and my neighbor's house to be foreclosed, I want my job to go overseas.

I think Hillary has potential as a VP. I don't think she is the best, just as I would not say Barack would have made a good VP to her. Both need Foreign Policy experience and international diplomacy. Sam Nunn, Wesley Clark or Bill Richardson.

Rebullyicans can take your diatribes and go stick it.

I KNOW WE ARE WALKING ON THE RACE EGGSHELLS BUT I AM GOING TO STEP OFF FOR A MOMENT AND SAY THAT IF HE HAD BEEN A WHITE MAN WHO BET THE 1ST WOMEN, SHE WOULD HAVE ENDORSED HIM AND NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WOULD EVEN DARE SUGGESTS THAT HE SELECT HER AS HIS VP.

I actually liked her before I knew her.

Selecting Hiliary Clinton for the Vice-President post would be unwise for reasons other than those stated here. Security–especially for Obama–has been viewed by some as a real problem. Hiliary's comment re: Robert Kennedy raised conjecture and some wonderment at what this comment might suggest to some malicious
person(s).

I am estatic that Obama won the democratic nomination! He wants to bring about change in America and the White House, especially at this crucial time in society. He is the hope and change we can believe in for real! YES WE CAN and JUST DID!!!! I can't wait for the debates between Obama and McCain! Bring it!!!! BTW, Oprah is GREAT! People need to stop hating on all her accomplishments and the good she does in the world. How about everyone who calls themselves citizens of this country get up and do something with yourselves instead of bashing someone who has brought about so much change to this country and the world.

Thanks!

Senator Clinton should turn her back on the corrupt DNC committee, the Obama campaign and supporters. They are all trash. They broke the rules and the laws of our land so a socialist/marxist/communist could be a candidate. They are a cancer on the face of America.

AVERY JEFFERSON   June 4th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

Clinton supporters have forgot what they are voting for. I mean to purposely vote for the wrong person because of spit is pure evil. The difference between us Obama supporters is we would vote for Hillary if she won. She didn't win accept it.

Andrea E-Atlanta   June 4th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

B-NYC,
I know that you are a bitter person that's why you didn't list your full name. First of all, you have got some nerve talking about Senator Obama better show some respect. Did you miss all of the news on yesterday? He is the nominee. If anyone has been disrepectful its been Senator Clinton. Even her supporters are now coming out against her. But I suppose you would think that she wasn't doing anything wrong. Yes, HRC got 18 million votes, that is a great accomplishment but Senator Obama received 17 million. And btw, there aren't 18 million people out there saying that they won't vote for Obama. Just a few of you women that think that the world owes you something because you are a women. Please give me a break. We fight to have equal rights then when we get it, we say that people need to treat us differently because we're women. How hypocritical is that?

Denise   June 4th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

I'm very happy for Obama!! I just hope that Clinton supporters will realize this isn't a popularity contest. It's about what's best for the country. How some Clinton supporters can say they would vote McCain over Obama if he doesn't pick her for VP is just CRAZY!!! The last thing this country needs is 4 more years of Bush like leadership! Hillary Clinton, do the right thing and help unit the Democratic Party! We should all have the same goal here. Hopefully Oprah's influence will help.

pauly   June 4th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

Regarding, individuals and supporters of Obama being rude. I think many Hillary supporters are delusional. Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly attacked Obama and has been very vindictive. He has extended an olive branch and has tried to pacify her numerous times.
For example, Obama did not fight the delegate count for Michigan, praised her during his last speech, called her and she never acknowledged his winning moment.
Only a priveleged and entitled woman would think IT IS HER MOMENT and ABOUT HER.
It is not about her. She is trying to use her leverage with her 18 million votes. She does need people meaning Obama. What will she do now? DISAPPEAR
By the way, I was a Clinton supporter until she showed her true colors.

c   June 4th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

I have said this before that we have to think about our actions. There is no need to be disrespectful to Senator Clinton.Remember Senator Clinton's positions are very similar to Senator Obama and Sen McCain has morphed into someone more like George Bush. The maverick is now morethe person towing the party line.John McCain said he would appoint people like John Roberts and Sam Alito.Sen Obama talks about Ginsburg and Souter. If the HRC supporters vote for JMC then they are voting for a George Bush like candidate who will overturn Roe V Wade.I know that you don't want that.

As for HRC supporters being disrespected–you are full of yourself like your conceited candidate! Barack doesn't need you. He will be elected President, so go ahead and vote for McCain, form your own party, stay home and sulk–just plain go away and let the true Democrats rejoice at the history that was made yesterday and that will be made in January when President Obama is sworn in!

Are we Hillary supporters nothing more than Pavlovian Dogs? I wonder this because everyone thinks we are to move only when Hillary rings the bell. Yes, I did vote for Hillary and am proud of what she has accomplished; however, I am a democrat and will vote for the party that shares my values. I am not a barganing chip and resent the idea that the near 18 million who voted for her will only vote for Obama if she is given the VP slot.

Remember that we are all democrats and taking back the White House is priority number one. I know it hurts to see our candidate come up short, but threatning to vote for McCain will not help us in the long run. It is time to come together and support OUR candidate and get ready for November!

i've never understood why hillary's supporters keep saying that obama's supporters are rude and nasty. the ugliest sarcasm i hear most on here is from the "if not hillary, then mccain" folks. and if you arent really the Project Chaos stooges, we are all STILL waiting to hear a truthful and logical explanation of that. and please not the same old tired lies about obama stealing this and that, hillary and obama BOTH agreed to follow the rules the DNC set. he agreed to do what they said regarding MI and FL, and he agreed to a solution that was in hillary's FAVOR!!!

obama's respect for hillary is VERY apparent and he showed it throughout. she will be offered a powerful position (not VP) if she wants it. at the end of the day, they are both likable, forward-thinking and incredibly intelligent people, and they both have immense respect for each other. hillary will be supporting obama and the democratic party with all she's got!!!

if hillary won and we took a vote, i guarantee you that the vast majority of obama's supporters would have totally and completely supported hillary all the way to the white house!!!

it is without question that your life will be LOADS better-AND SAFER--with President Obama.

democrat 4 life   June 4th, 2008 8:41 pm ET

Barack, this is to you. I know you do not know me from a can of paint. I just want to say I am very, very proud of you. You have made history and we will see change to come to our country. You truly inspire me and I now feel confident when talking to my eight year old son that dreams do come true. He can be our next President. God bless you. You are a true inspiration to me and my family. You definitely got my vote. I have watched the election since it began and I have never really actually took much interst into politics until I saw life becoming harder for my family and I. My finace called me early this morning and said "he did! he did!" I said did what, Barack Obama is the presumative nominee of the Democratic party.

Edward from Toronto   June 4th, 2008 8:41 pm ET

She lost the nomination not because she was disrespected but because she was overconfident, ignored the caucus states and ran a negative campaign.

Granted her supporters may feel robbed as the the general perception was it was hers for the taking. That is life. Now move on an rationalize whether you want McCain to be President and if your answer is yes get ready to have your daughters' right to choose taken away, your children and loved ones sent to fight a meaningless war and your great grand children pay off the debt that would be accumulated to fight the war.

Many people say things in anger but if you act in anger, that is a greater travesty. Think

If Obama selects Hillary as his running mate. He will come across as a weak man, who folds under pressure. Then the question becomes, How will he stand up to pressure as President?

DEMOCRAT   June 4th, 2008 8:41 pm ET

I'm tired of people disrespecting Oprah. Oprah is an inspiration to women. She has done many, many good things over the years. Especially when it comes to speaking out against sexual abuse.
I really wish people would grow up and stop hating on others just because of who someone supports. That includes Clinton as well as Obama Supporters.

Dan   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

Wait....so Obama didn't get approx. the same number of popular votes as HRC? So.....you're saying that if she were the nominee then she would win because she'd get all of the nearly 18 million that voted for Obama? Huh......that math doesn't work. The caveat goes both ways. By the way.....who are the people that are polled nationally that have Obama ahead of McCain by 7 points. Guess they're polling everyone but HRC supporters........right!!

Bobby   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

republicans are coming on many blogs know a days disrespecting Clinton mostly BECAUSE OB AMA HAS BEEN THE LIKELY NOMANY FOR A TIME KNOW SO THEY ARE trying to drive a wedge between US DEMOCRATS which is the only way they will win. DONT ALLOW THEM TO DO IT . OBAMA and Clinton are similar on the issues Mccain is on a different planet on the issues. This is our time

Obama 08 hopefully Clinton for VP

white women for Unity   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

OK Folks, time to Unite. If your canidate wasn't nominated you still need to vote Democratic. Think of the consequences of putting McCain in the White House....really think about that. If you love your country and your rights as a women, you need to come to terms that Obama is our nominee. He will do what is best for this country. He and Hillary agree on most issues, so why would not vote Democratic.

Please everyone, be adults and Unite!

Shell Hari, New York   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

As someone who has traveled widely and who has come to love African proverbs, I urge you to read this one many times to see whether you get the big picture: "This world is susu. You do for me; I do for you". Minorities in this country-be it African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, American Indians, you name it, have always voted overwhelmingly for many leaders in this country-past and present-without any preconditions or race, but based on the substantive nature of the candidates' platform and how confident these minorities believe the candidates can deliver what "they" promise. Keep in mind that I said "they" referring to the candidates and not minorities. Now, the time has come for the same favor to be extended to minority candidates who are viable and electable. Can the rest of America return the favor?

mya   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

If you have anything bad to say about Sen. Clinton, please STOP and think about it. It's time to think about our party. Hillary Clinton IS a DEMOCRAT. Let's all respect her at this time.

bon   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

Now that Barack Obama seems to be on the verge of being officially nominated as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, I'm sure Michelle Obama will proclaim the occasion would be the second time in her whole life she'll be happy to be an American. What a woman!

Eric G   June 4th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

We are seeing the first splinterings of our party.. it is really sad that people can be so blind and ignorant as to lash out at other party supporters because they prefer a different person for president.. especially when their differences are very minimal.. the Democratic party was supposed to rise to power this year, but I fear that the death rattle is just around the corner.. stop the hate.. political bias is just as bad as racial and gender bias.. remove head from arse and be a respectful human being.. didn't your mothers teach you right? Or should they be slapped along with you?

Terrance   June 4th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

Okay enough about Obama and Oprah. We are a nation of opportunities so let's start acting like it people. The Happy Dance, Happy Face, to Happy Days so what Obama won. What you people are failing to realize is that poltitics is a game of coniving and reverse psychology. Who is better? Clinton slaps Obama wow. Obama slaps Clinton and McCain and his party sits back and think of ways to blast the nominee (obama) in Nov.

Let's get it together people (democrats) and stop arguing about dancing and not going to support a democrat if you want your kids to grow up in a healthy wealthy environment I suggest you do the right thing and think democrat. Thank you have a nice day :)

Obama all the way!!!!   June 4th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

Clinton can not run as an Independent. She has worked her heart out for this party for 35 years, and as much as people try to say the Party did her wrong, she knows that's not true. Therefore, she is not going to sail off on the Dems. She also needs someone to pay off her debt. Obviously HILLARYCLINTON.COM wasn't enough to get her through the first campaign. Finally, if supporters put McCain in office, they will be flushing all of Clinton's hard work down the toilet....so much for a supporter, huh?

RB   June 4th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

In all fairness to Hillary, I think she surounded herself with the worst group of advisors anyone could have. They didn't prepare her for beyond Super Tuesday; they came up with the "kitchen sink"; they came up with the "he's not experienced enough"; they came up with the "I have the experence/Senator McCain has the experience; and they came up with the "all or nothing strategy". When you're caught up in the excitement of it all, all or nothing seems like a tough stance. Problem is, sometime you get nothing. Her advisors didn't let her posture for a graceful exit and spot on the ticket as VP. Look at Huchabee. He knew when to quit and is a credible VP candidate for McCain. But, Hillary has practically written the republican attack ads for Nov. Why would Obama expose himself to ridicule of having her run as his VP?? I would question his judgement if he did that. No, Hillary's advisors have ruined her politically and should never work in the Democratic Party again! And, that's not Obama's fault. She chose them. She has to live with taking their advice. Her advisors need to go. Did you notice how quick they were to jump over to back Obama?? They are the ones her supporters need to be mad with; not Obama. He played the game by the rules and won. Support him.

Sonja   June 4th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

Last night was a mission accomplished by the Obama team. Congratulations!!!!
Senator Clinton fought a good race, but I am not sure of her motive to withhold her embrace for our democratic nominee. What I have observed through this process is the double standards set by the Clinton campaign. Its unfortunate that this process has caused so many unnecessary incidents of offense.

As I continue to follow the process and read the comments of the Clinton campaign it is no longer my belief her objective is the love for the United States, but her relentless and callous dtermination to win Her love for self). I think her motto is "by any means necessary". This is not the behavior we can afford as a running mate w/Obama. She reminds me of Chaney in a dress. Very scary, very.

I cannot believe democrats are making a decision to stay home or to vote Republican? In other words the love for our wonderful country does not take precedence, but ignorance and bitterness will keep our young man and women in Iraq for another 100 years. Its time we come together as a team to change the course of politics this country has been subjected to. If we come together the changes and benfits of the US can reach new heights and opportunites we have only dreamed. Lets not sweat the small stuff, let us come together to build a better US.

What???   June 4th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

All of you Hillary supporters with your threats about voting for McCain and declaring that Obama needs you... I think YOU need Obama to become the next President. Obama and Clinton have the same beliefs for this country. If you do vote for McCain, you were NEVER for Hillary. Shame on you!

Hillary supporters, it's okay that you're angry, and it's understandable and we feel for ya–but don't make the error of voting McCain just because you're upset. Obama is about 2% diff from Hillary–McCain is Hillary's COMPLETE AND POLAR OPPOSITE. For the good of our country, our troops, our children, THE WORLD, don't vote McCain.

If Clinton and Obama have similar policies...what is the reason you won't vote for Obama?? Is it because he's black?

APS in Hawaii   June 4th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

Yep, goes to show how the news media controlled this race. The elitists got what they wanted, now they lost the General Election. I cannot believe the incompetence and stupidity shown by Obama and the news media glossed it over. Hillary was the best chance the Democrats had, and now they ruined it. Dance Oprah Dance, you caused the Democrats to lose you dummy.

Steve   June 4th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

If you don't want to vote for Obama, then don't. He won the nomination fair and square. If you can't deal with that, then vote for McCain, or Nader, or someone else. Why do you keep whining about this? It's a done deal.

Obama should NOT offer the VP slot to Clinton. The party needs to take the larger view and think about what the Repblicans would do to an Obama-Clinton ticket. There is SO much baggage that Clinton is dragging around (named BIll) that the Republicans will have a field day with that ticket. If Hillary could get free of Bill (not gonna happen) then she'd help the party. Since she can't she'll only pull things down.

If you get a Obama Clinton ticket going, be sure to lock Bill in the attic like a crazy uncle.

Steve Jones   June 4th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

Why has no one yet questioned the treachery of the Democratic Party? Her entire career, Hillary has backed the party through thick and thin and her reward when she was almost guaranteed the presidential position is for her party power brokers to trot out a total unknown (and let's be honest for a change) just because he is black. Is the Democratic Party that affraid of the Clintons? Hillary is strong enough to bring forth her own agenda. Obama will be nothing more than the Dem power brokers puppet.

give me a beer   June 4th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Terry,
I am no fan of Oprah, but she is a media mogul and worked for her money and fame. She started as a poor black girl and worked her way up. The American Dream. I used to say about blacks that they have the same chance in America nowdays. Oprah is a great example for that.
Someone above said that Oprah is an elitist. Please, check on the meaning on that word... She is not out of touch. I wish all rich folks on her caliber would do as much as she for the less fortunate.
(I am a white 44y old man, don't even watch her shows, but I respect her what she achieved)

Lonnie   June 4th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

The ultimate 'Dream Ticket' would be for Barack Obama to chose Colin Powell as his running mate. This would bind the entire 'America' as a party and infuse the office with Military knowlege and foreign policy expertise with a driving force that no American, Republican or Democrat, can or would deny.

bernadette   June 4th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

yea oprah! dance girl! you played a role in electing obama! by the way when are u going to have brad pitt and angelina jolie, on your show? coz that jennifer aniston character is so last year?

oboma you and your friends dance now because 18 millon hope and pray that sen. hillary runs on ticket independent

Marlowe   June 4th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Obama flat out turned down Brad Pitt's endorsement but embraced Oprah's endorsement like a long lost member of his family. It really is all about race because let's face it, Oprah has never endorsed anyone in her professional career and it's not a mere coincidence that the first time ever that she's endorsing a politician he happens to be a black man. Sorry Brad Pitt, you're just not good enough for Obama to accept your endorsement, try again next time...with another candidate perhaps.

As former Democrats we may not agree with Republican policies but for the good of America we feel it is more important to use our votes to stop Obama.

This movement is larger and more resolute in our aim than you could possible imagine.

Hillary Is Going To Give Her Concession Speach On Friday! Thats When Im Gonna Do My Happy Dance!

TheTruthHurts   June 4th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

All of this back and forth is rank silliness. I support Obama and other supporters have been disrespect. Those individuals are not the majority, just like the majority of Clinton supporters won't make a protest vote.

Obama himself has been at least as gracious and respectful as Clinton. Anyone denying that is simply not paying attention.

Frankly, I suspect something more sinister. Most of the folks who claim they "can't" or "won't " support Barack fall into 3 camps.

1. All men are sexist and Obama has been as condescending as most men and I can't support that. (So I'll vote for the philandering McCain instead).

2. I don't trust this smooth-talking guy from nowhere with no foreign policy experience (But I gladly voted for Bill Clinton who was younger and is nicknamed Slick Willy).

3. I am a closet racist and need something to complain about that will allow my conscience to be OK with voting against the interests of my family, my children, my country and the world.

Hillary would have been a great president and may some day be. It won't be in this cycle. Unless you believe in the Republican policies, Barack Obama is the best realistic chance to fix what is broken. Those who can't see that are likely blinded by 1, 2 or 3.

TC   June 4th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

I disagree with B of NYC.... You are still dividing the Democratic party by making such a statement. You stated that, "What they are failing to realize is that HE NEEDS HER, SHE DOES NOT NEED HIM".... If we are a DEMOCRATIC party, then we need eachother. It's not about Obama and it's not about Hillary. It's about us as a PARTY standing by eachother.

Everyone played dirty from time to time, thats Politics. Sometimes we bring out the best in eachother and sometimes we bring out the worst in eachother, but the bigger picture is that we can agree to disagree and remain cordial with one another. Barack and Hillary are still on the same page, and they are still in the same party and they are still Americans wanting whats best for this country.

If you choose not to vote for Obama bc Hillary isnt on the ticket, then thats on you. Thats even worse because you are going against the very party that she was fighting so hard for. Thats where ignorance comes in. Start thinking with your mind and not your heart. If you want our people to keep fighting a war with no means then vote Republican. If you want to pay $10.00 in gas over the next few years, then vote Republican, because basically thats what you are doing by not voting for your own party. And whatever changes take place in the economy over the next few years that you dislike, dont say a word, because by not voting for the Democratic Party bc it wasnt Hillary on the ticket, gives you no right to say anything at all.

DJ FXP   June 4th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Its funny, I dont think most the Obama fans realize that most people in the country do not share your ultra left views, we don't necessarily need universal healthcare, just we want to try something different... We like making choices, and most of use are educated enough to do it... even though we may cling to guns and religion we are not ignorant... like you....

I have been life long democrat until this election which made me switch to independent and may be vote for
John Mcain. I respect Barack Obama as a person but despise all these pundits, they have no shame for demeaning and
stepping on the person who once was the most effective president in the democrat party Bill Clinton,
the man who have done so much for the black community, who lifted the economy for 8 years, the year when
and this very important to me and i never forget it (WENT ON CAMPAINING JUST 3 DAYS AFTER HE HAD HIS
HEART SURGERY FOR JOHN KERRY IN 2004 WHEN HE RAN FOR PRESIDENT THAT SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH THE DEMOCRAT INSTITUTION
TREAT ITS PEOPLE SO OBAMA WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND AND THAT'S THE DIFFRENCE I NOTICED BETWEEN THE DEMOCRATS
AND REPUBLICANS AND REGAN SAID IT RIGHT REPUBLICANS DON'T ATTACK OTHER REPUBLICANS)
but far most Hillary Clinton who saw the worst first from the media going after her since she start
running making it easy opening for Obama and handing him the nomination without sweat, she was hated from
the media far more worst the George Bush, people disrespected her, put her down, went after chelsea asking
her silly and stupid question about father's affair even this trinity church took part in the bashing.

And all of you Obama suppporters, 1 year and half ago you were saying and i quote "we wish Bill clinton
could run for president for the third time after how much damage done by Bush". By the way i am a man
and have college degree and there are lot more of us and all i can say is Hillary Clinton you defeated
all odds and you are the strongest and everybody knows it but they won't admit it.

To tell you the truth, I don't know how Barack was able to keep focused with all of the shenanigans that Hillary pulled. (and still is pulling) This relatively young man is definitely the REAL DEAL!

Now, I hope that God will keep him safe, and help him with the very, very rough road ahead!

How did your votes not count? clinton supporters who claim that michigan votes are only 1/2 or any of that other stuff, repubs also punished florida and michigan. all those saying what did obama do, first of all he cowrote the bill to get education for veterans, a bill that mccain rejected. Also, obama has voted no to the surge something you cannot say about mccain and obama has done many other things, if you want a laundry list just go look it up. But wait you dont care about the facts you just want to make a statement. Well guess what you candidate condones that statement and has made it clear that you should vote for the democratic nominee.

Oprah – your ratings dropped 7% – You can afford to throw more money around to buy the Presidency for Obama – but not with my vote...Hillary may ask for us to support Obama – but just like your show – I'll change the channel and vote for McCain

dennie   June 4th, 2008 8:32 pm ET

I am frankly not understanding this issue about disrepecting Hillary Clinton's voters. I just don't see where this is coming from. She was in a very hotly contested race. She performed the way any candidate would both good and bad, and so did Barack Obama. That is the way the game is played. There is no disrepect here. Barack Obama has been very respectful to Mrs. Clinton in all of his speeches. If Hillary's voters would just take a deep breath and think, they would realize that she has not always been respectful of him. But, that is the competitive game. It is hard to let go when you lose. I know because I want my 49'ers to win all the time, and they let me down. You just gotta move forward and let go and understand what is at stake for all of us if McCain manages to win. There is a larger issue here.

RyanD   June 4th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

A bit of reality for all the Hillary supporters for one moment:

Obama leads in pledged and cast votes, per RealClearPolitics.

4 delegates from MI aren't going to do it, he's winning by over 140. 30,000 popular votes by way of "fuzzy math" aren't going to do it.

You're letting Hillary whip you into a frenzy that was a mathematical impossibility weeks ago.

Neither candidate 'wins' without Supers, and the DNC is not going to "disenfranchise", as you say, Obama's 18 million voters to appease YOU by overturning the lead in Supers, pledged and popular votes.

One must win, one must lose.

I understand a close race in something you care deeply about is tough to concede, but we're all on the same side here. I really don't understand all the hatred. The reproductive rights of your daughters and granddaughters are at stake...the lives of 100,000's of military people. Be rational.

No one can blame Clinton nor Clinton supporters if Obama loses the GE.. Hillary supporters will vote for the person they believe in.....if its not Obama, then so be it... He will have to stand up on his own against McCain and prove himself first and show who he really is!!!!

Make Love, Not War   June 4th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

It puzzles me that some bloggers here who claim to be supporters of Mrs. Clinton state they will not vote for Mr. Obama in November, and instead will vote for Mr. McCain.

That's great. Fine. It's your choice.

But can you take your divisive negative energy elsewhere? I mean, if you have nothing positive or objective to contribute, why say anything at all?
Enough with the hate. We don't need it.

OBAMA 2008/2012

Democrats Love to Loose   June 4th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

Last night was your only happy night.
The party is over. This is another Republican year.

Sold out by Oprah and the DNC.
Obama people, you had your run, need to get with reality.
Hope is over. Reality is in. This is the general election, and people will vote for McCain for many reasons, and Hillary knows it.

Bloggers, if you paid any attention, Hillary looked well last night, Barack looked weary. Not happy at all. Making History. Telling.

Didine in Maryland   June 4th, 2008 8:30 pm ET

Go Oprah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was dancing all night long too, after President Obama graceful speech. We are all proud of him because he can bring the change that this country really need. I hope by friday, Hillary will also finally endorse officially Barack Obama ,so we can start healing our country who is so divided.

Deborah   June 4th, 2008 8:30 pm ET

Who cares what Oprah thinks. Who annointed her the ultimate source of all power? I'm really tired of the blatant race bias. She needs to be more gracious. She is also a woman and we haven't had one of those in the White House either.

Well put, Paul. I couldn't agree more.

And to you angry Hillary supporters crying about Obama supporters being mean to your candidate - I recall more than a few nasty comments from your side about Obama and they haven't stopped yet. You can't have it both ways.

I am happy for Sen Obama too Oprah. You can knock on my door anytime.

No McSame   June 4th, 2008 8:29 pm ET

This is a great day and Friday will be even better. McSame we are coming for you old boy. The Obama08 bus is rollin baby.
Those that vote McSame are fools that support the war in Iraq. Blood is on there hands and the tears of thousands of children flows because of them. McSame means women going back to no rights. So If you are pro life you know what to do but if you want to keep your rights to do what you want with your body vote Obama.
Clinton will vote Obama, all three of them because they are not fools.

Ramone C. Aiken   June 4th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

its geat but what is not great is after a nomination that Mike Huckabee had not chance of winning he kept fighting but after it was said that he could not win he start to fight for McCain and most importantly he ENDED his campaign. Not Sen. Clintonshe will only suspend hers. I WILL NOT VOT FOR ANYONE IF SHE IS ONE THE TICKET. This shows her true colors.

John From Dallas   June 4th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

In response to B from NYC, If Hillary wants to run as V.P. she most certainly needs Obama's support, and as far as Obama's campaign being rude to her, the negative ad campaigns were fairly even among both Clinton and Obama campaigns. You sound like a Clinton supporter who is bitter about losing and unfortunately it seems you are letting your bitterness get in the way of the logical choice of getting behind the winning candidate who best represents your beliefs.

I guess Oprah is not worried about her empire in existence after 2008. LOL!

To all Obama Supporters – be celebratory, but GRACIOUS. As I said before, Republicans aimed to knock out their biggest threat, Clinton, to get Obama so McCain will knock him out.

If you think you can do it without her supporters, he and you do not DESERVE to be President and he won't be.

Have fun.

Mom of 3 in the OC   June 4th, 2008 8:27 pm ET

Hillary Supporters,
Yes she ran a great campaign, but if you can honestly say that because she didn't win, you will either stay home, vote for McCain or write in her name….then you deserve what you ask for. I hope you're ready for your sons and daughters to fight in more endless, meaningless wars. I hope you're ready to lose more jobs, lose your homes, walk everywhere since you won't be able to afford gas. I hope you're ready for a Bush chronie to choose (possibly 3) people for the US Supreme Court. Perhaps they'll overturn Roe v. Wade…oh I'm sure you'll love that !

Woman to Woman….Come on ! I urge you, when you go into that voting booth in November, you should be voting for the person who most represents your Democratic values. No candidate will ever be exactly what you want, but you have to choose the person who best reflects the changes you want to see in our country. So put your emotions aside and use your intellect. I know you're smarter than that !

Vote Dem in November   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

B – NYC -"They have been rude and disrespectful to Senator Clinton therefore, rude to her supporters"

That could be said of both sides, however I wonder how much of it was fueled by Republicans and their desire to drive a wedge between the Democrats.

It's time for Democrats to stop with infighting and to fight for what the Democrats believe in, for what Hillary has fought for and what Obama will fight for.

It's time for us to realize that as a party we need to stand together to even begin to undo the past eight years of destruction our current administration has inflicted on the American people and America

California Voter   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

Voters do need to think with their heads not their hearts. They need to consider if they can support someone who has not been honest with his knowledge about his preacher, who spent 20 years at a racist church - while Oprah left after two years - . For me it was never about Rev. Wright it was and is about Obama belonging to a church that does not represent my core values. The media has made him their darling, but not mine..

D Montoya, El Paso, TX   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

Bayousara   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

Obama is not a "clear winner." He is probably (but hasn't been yet) going to be the Dem's presidential nominee.

He would have been a clear winner if he had won the delegates on his own.

Instead, he had to rely on "super delegates," an odd group appointed by the DNC because of some superior traits they are supposed to possess that regular voters don't have.

Kind of like when Bush was appointed the presidency by the Supreme Court in 2000.

'Bam, you have a long way to go. All you kiddies who are so into Obama get off the blogs and go out there and work for him!

Charlotte   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

I glad she is so happy, I am not. I have not watched Oprah since she came out for Obama. If Hillary and Obama are so a like in their platforms why did she back him? Because he is black and she is black, if he were a white man she would have been behind Hillary. Who says the race card was not played by Oprah and Obama at the very beginning of this race. Enjoy it while you can. I will write Hillary on my ballot in November. I pray Colin Powell will be McCains running mate, then what will all the black people do? I could vote for Colin Powell but not Obama. Obama is not qualified to be President. The Republicans are primed and ready for this racist pig. Obalegerwright. will not win in November.

Terry, NJ   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

I'm writing in Hillary or voting for McCain. Don't come begging for Hillary supporter's votes now. Too late. You've bad mouthed her, mocked her, called her every name possible. HALF of the voters in the Democratic primary voted for her. 18 million! You don't need those votes, remember? You want to live in your delusional world that all that mattered in the primaries was your vote for Obama. Now comes the REAL contest. The Presidential Election. Where you have all the people you called stupid, uneducated, racists, old, cry baby women, etc getting to vote for WHOEVER they want. You didn't need those voters you so confidentally said when you trashed Hillary AND her supporters. Don't expect them now. You say consider the issues and not just the candidate? All you talked of was considering the the candidate during the primary and not the issues. Now it's our turn to vote for who we want once again. The issues and the candidate. Experience over rhetoric once again. Like I said, I'm writing in Hillary or voting for McCain. This is a presidential election about voting for the best person to be President. Not a popularity contest. Obama isn't qualified. And that will show come November. The only way I'll vote for Obama if it's a Obama/Clinton ticket. ONLY WAY. If not I hope he loses and you can all pat yourselves on the back for picking your so called called savior who in reality turned out to be nothing but a bunch of talk and too far left for the whole country to vote for. Congratulations on picking the winning loser come November.

I might have voted for Obama but after reading all the we hate Hillary blogs from Obama fans and the nasty names they call people for not supporting him, there is NO WAY IN H ELL I WOULD ever vote for him.

Sarah M   June 4th, 2008 8:26 pm ET

1. Why is that no one is outraged at the fact that Delegate and Electorial votes can decide against what "we the people" have voted that we want? Why are we not moving to remove this ridiculous garbage? This process is not indicative of a democracy at all in my opinion. No wonder the world looks at Americans like they are idiots.

2. Why is it that everyone is ignoring the fact that Obama is at least half white? If the Obamanation is successful..... we had best prepare for the martyrdom and rioting to come if and when some idiot attempts his life. I for one am not impressed that he left his church of twenty years in which he sat and condoned controversial and racist sermons.

Hillary supporters do not betray your candidate, stab her in the back and go against her saying that we must do everything to make sure republicans lose. This is our time, This is America's time to shine and, whether you call those advocacies of our candidate, speeches of hope and progress, or shams of false change you are a democrat and you agree with Hillary's issues and Obamas. As Democrats we as a nation united must rise up and transcend the negativity that has terribly affected the race for the highest position in the world and we must join, hand in hand to cast our votes TOGETHER for that candidate which best represents us. Thank you and god bless you

With due respects to Senator Obama for running a good campaign, despite needing four times the money and the title of "media darling" to win.

His supporters need to realize a few things... They have been rude and disrespectful to Senator Clinton therefore, rude to her supporters... What they are failing to realize is that HE NEEDS HER, SHE DOES NOT NEED HIM and we will NOT support him, which means, he will in fact not have enough votes to win in November...

I would start being a bit respectful if I were you...

***************************************************************************

Paul - Seattle   June 4th, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Hillary supporters need to be careful with their votes come November. Voting for McCain will be a slap in Hillary's face because it will go against everything she stood for in this campaign. Similarly, if they choose to write Hillary in, and Obama loses a close race, she will go down in history as the Ralph Nader of the 2008 election, and she will be remembered for potentially keeping the first African American from becoming president. In either case she will be remembered by history as a candidate that put herself before the party and helped the Republicans keep the presidency after 8 years of the WORST administration in history.

I understand the emotion, she ran a tough campaign and she was a great candidate. But it's time to think with our heads and not our hearts. A McCain presidency could mean the end of Roe v. Wade, a continuation of an unjust war in Iraq, and continued damage to the long term health of our economy and our country. Please consider the issues when you vote, not just the candidates.

OBAMA '08!!!
