"Witness the Rise of the McCain Democrats."

Oh Brian, you hapless moron. You do, of course, realize what will happen if we elect McCrap, right?

1. The Iraq War will continue for a third presidential term (Brian, that's 4 years).

2. McCain will perpetuate the Bush tax cuts. Because with a "century of war" ahead of us, we need to get the money to fight it from somewhere... why not take it from the poor who can't afford gas or food... because we can't take that third car away from the rich, that's simply cruel.

3. A few brand new McCain-approved Supreme Court Justices will be appointed. Goodbye, Roe v. Wade. Goodbye, any chance at equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Goodbye, personal freedoms.

etc. etc. etc.- the bottom line is that after two Bush terms, even some Republicans (the smart ones) are realizing that the time has come to stop this and vote Democratic. It takes a truly braindead individual- pay attention, Brian- to decide to vote for one of the most strongly conservative Republican candidates ever spawned, during this crucial election year. Especially to vote for him over a candidate who (besides having a less "embellished" resume- I mean, less experience) is virtually identical to your beloved Clinton, and one who Clinton endorsed. Time to make the right decision for your COUNTRY, not for your PRIDE.

I wonder whether Obama's closed door meetings today will alienate the media enough to start weed-whacking him the way they did Clinton. That would be fun to watch.

I Wish Hillary would have started her own party named "Reagon Democratic Party". The way democratic party is handling things is not good. They are going far left and reaching the edge, if not careful, they will fall of the left edge.

Clintons are more centrist and it will be good fight between McCain and Clinton.

Having a Obama/Clinton ticket would give the Democrat Party a SLAM DUNK at winning in November and taking back the White House. Along those same lines, any of the Senate or Congress would get a great boost to making sure that the Democrat Party would get the White House, along with the majority in the Senate and House.

There are just so many idiots in here...
Obama wasn't my first choice as candidate, but as the field narrowed to just him and Hillary I realized that both of them were good candidates and EXTREMELY similar on the issues. I am a DEMOCRAT because the party more closely reflects my ideals and REPUBLICAN ideals horrify me. Also, recent history CLEARLY indicates that we as a country are WORSE off due to the leadership of the REPUBLICAN party. A vote for McCain is a vote for continuing down the same path we've been on for 7 years. If you're voting for McCain because Hillary isn't the DEMOCRAT nominee, you are a STUPID IDIOT!!!

I followed the campaign with great interest and both candidates fought hard and did so in the style that best suited them and the situation they were in. It would have been nice if both parties could have ran things cleaner, but if they had, the race probably would've ended earlier.

It does not matter who you supported during the campaign, the nominee has been selected. You can be bitter about the results, but it changes nothing. You may think the results were rigged or otherwise tainted, but you're delusional -- The results are legitimate.

There's a huge amount of bad blood between the Clinton and Obama camps and it is a direct result of the campaign and how it was waged. Is there a point in perpetuating the bad blood? Not when you realize that at the end of the day, it's just bitterness.

To both Clinton and Obama supporters, the war is over. What was done / said in the past no longer matters because we have to bury the hatchet and move on. If we don't, the next 5 years will look and feel a lot like the past 7 and I don't think any of us really want that.

Obama did not vote for the war. Of course he was unable to vote at the time. Since he has been able to vote as a US Senator, he has missed 40% of them, including the Iranian issue. I think, based on the lies at the time, I would have voted to use force also. With that said, how do we get out, with at the very least a smigen of honor? I do not have the answer. My grandson just returned from Iraq and told me not to believe the media, the average Iraqie is glad we are there. I think I'll take his word for it. He joined the Marines to serve his country and serve he did. I am grateful he returned safely, many more have not. I pray everyday for them and their families. I doubt very seriously McCain wants to be there any longer then is necessary. His out of context "100 years" did not mean he wants to fight for a hundred years. We have bases in a lot of countries and have had for many years. We never left Japan or Germany. That was over 60 years ago!

SOMEONE WRITES:

Your poll is wrong! Look at Rasmussen today's poll - Obama leads McCain by 9 points. Whe you put Clinton on the ticket - Obama loses from McCain by 4 points… !!!! That's the truth! Stop manipulating! Such ticket would be a disaster for democrats and it will NEVER HAPPEN, CNN. Barack is smarter than this.. and will not make McCain president by taking that thing HRC as VP!

THEN IT LOOKS LIKE A NO WIN SITUATION FOR OBAMA, HE WILL LOOSE IF HE PUTS HILLARY ON THE TICKET AND HE WILL LOOSE IF HE DOESN'T. THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL, WHAT IS MEANT TO BE WILL BE.

The idiots who say they will vote for McCain or will stay at home in November are just as hypocritical and disrespectful of the American people as the Clintons. Does anyone really thing the Clintons respect Americans? The Clintons respect only the Clinton ambition. Please go home Hillary, don't let the door hit you on the way out, and take your lying has-been husband with you. Then you can both sit together and argue your lives away in New York. the Democratic party is no longer your personal posession.

"It's Democrat vs. Republican now, you can pine for the defeated primary candidates all you want, but they are now out of the picture…."

NO NO NO

its about extreme left = Obama
ita bout middle left = Hillary
Its about middle right = McCane
its about far right = Mitt

I vote Middle left Hillary is gone, so McCane is the closest to me and my voting style and he has worked with both sides unlike Obama!

Voting for McCain 'cuz you're pissed that Hillary didn't win is equivalent to voting for Bush because you were miffed Dean didn't get the nom in '04. I'm not sure how many people actually did that (it's only June, after all - most saying they will now probably won't), but isn't it apparent what a mistake that would be?

It must be really bugging all you Obama supporters about Hillary. YOU are the ones who keep talking about her. If you are tired of it then stop or don' t read about her. What makes you think that Obama sits up all night and reads your blogs and does what you say. This is politics and it really doesn't matter what you think or say. Quit the hate spreading and say something intelligent before you wear yourselves out.

By your words... and by your hate... and by your actions have I left the democratic party after 35 years.

Yes... there is a generational and gender gap.

Yes... there is a difference in values. I abhore hate and filthy insults and denigrating other human beings from ANY walk of life.

So since I am now an independent, I owe the democrats nothing.

No Vote for the party- one vote for my conscience.

I will not vote for Barack Obama for numerous of reasons. He is extremely under-qualified and I, along with some reports that I've heard, agree that he isn't taking the war as seriously as he should. He believes that he will get all of the troops back home within one year...yeah right.

I especially do not like his view on Roe vs. Wade. I'm a firm believer that abortion is murder and that people will have to pay the price with God. This man is completely insane when it comes to this topic...that's all I can say.

Although Obama does have great speaking skills and manipulation techniques as every other politician, I do NOT think he is right for this respectable position. He needs more experience in my opinion. If he worked side-by-side with McCain, I believe he would learn a lot more than he thinks he knows now.

OLDER IS ALWAYS WISER...... I AM VOTING FOR MCCAIN!

Well if CNN did a better job of reporting on how McCain has changed his stances in the recent past like on wiretapping etc then maybe it won't be a dead heat. They spend soo much time reporting on a secret meeting between Obama and Clinton but no time on the policy position changes in the recent times by McCain.

By the way, part of respecting one another is respecting each other's opinions, and NOT thinking (for example) that if someone doesn't support Obama, they MUST be a racist. That is pathetically naive thinking. How about you recognize that both candidates have their pros, and both have their cons? But go ahead, bluster, insult, scream, shout, etc....just recognize that the more you do that, the more you energize the other side to vote.

I will tell you this, however...by far, Obama supporters have been by far the most arrogant, self-centered, pompous, simplistic and insulting supporters of any candidate this political season, and for NO reason. He ain't God, folks...or don't you get that? He's a guy. And believe it or not, you aren't good enough to run the country by yourselves.

I am sick of polls. They mean very little, especially 5 months beofre the election.

The candidates have barely started campaigning.

Lately, two-thirds of CNN "news" is garbage. CNN needs new producers and reporters. The shows are predictible and boring.

Obama and his supporters have NO IDEA.

This isn't about party or loyalty to a candidate.

This is about HOW one candidate was treated by the loyal fanatic worshippers of the OTHER candidate.

This is about the very values of change, unity, , communication, tolerance and respect for those different than yourselves.

Those who talk that talk, FAILED to walk that walk.

Now you can not strong-arm or guilt trip us into voting your way ANYway- just because we ONCE belonged to the same party.

NO to Hillary as VEEP. After the campaign the Clintons ran, Senator Obama has no reason to trust that she will follow his leadership. Further, they have vastly different ledership styles - she'd be bossy to staff - people would follow out of fear rather than agreement and loyalty. He inspires agreement and loyalty. Her daily presence would undermine that.

I don't know why some insist on holding Obama accountable for every single person who claims to vouch for him. Do these people ever think that these are McCain supporters intentionally trying to sabotage the Democratic nomination? Ignore what Obama's supporters the doing, and listen to the man himself. If you truly think that Obama would condone the actions of some of these reporters, then you haven't been really listening to his message that closely. Only those with strong stomachs need board the Obama train.

Tom, Mr. Big, This is for you; VOTE McCAIN "08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is the only answer to this country's issues right now. Hillary didn't make it. Do you honestly think obama can take this countyry in the direction it needs to go in? Sure, he wants to bring the troups home and end the war. That's great, lets end the war, bring the troups home. Now what? Do you think it's all over? NO! it's not, there still will be war however, the war will be on our turf here in the U.S. Maybe we should not have gone to war. But you know what? We did, so let's finish what we started and protect our people at home and the US soil. McCain is the only candidate we have who has the experience to take control of this situation. Obama will roll over and play dead, that's his answer.

Has any one else noticed the three or four phrases that appear in every Hillary-supporter-voting-for-McCain post?

It's just the same three or four people reposting the same thing under different names.

I love my self respect more than I love Obama.

I love truth and justice more than I love my party.

When you chose to gleefully bash and trash, mock and jeer, ridicule and demean, denigrate and insult half of the party and their GREAT warrior advocate.... YOU LOST MY VOTE.

Interesting....

New guy in tie with old guard. Old guard should be worried. McCain has had 3 months to build a lead.

"Surrender in Iraq" what does that mean? Get real. We're not fighting a war to protect America. That war is about oil. We're getting out of another country's business to take care of this country's business. Our enemy is living in a cave in Afghanistan and sending out audio messages. Iraq is an oilman's war.

When I cry at the treatment of a great woman... I will not be voting for those responsible.

When my heart breaks at the hateful attacks and the unfairness and the disrespect that HRC was subjected to so many times.... I will not vote for those responsible.

When I see how the ever more qualified, experienced woman was eliminated from the race to install what you all call a nobody who stole the show. Yes,,, he cheated and he was installed as the nominee without any merits of his own... I will not be voting for Obama.
