Good. He would make a better Attorney General. Maybe then we would see gas prices come down, credit card companies not able to charge 30% interest, insurance companies stop evaluating premium prices based on credit scores instead of actual risk, and war profiteers like haliburton put in jail where they belong.

Time to help the American people Mr. Edwards- Get to work.

I absolutely support Edwards for Attorney General if Obama takes the presidency. He's honorable, committed, and potentially a very good cure for years of Ashcroft's and Gonzales' immorality and expediency.

And to some of the rest of the commenters, please, please, please, let's try to act like we're a civilized country, and cut the name-calling out. This is a public forum and the vituperativeness doesn't advance anything, no matter who wins.

Face it. Neither Edwards, Biden, Dodd, Kerry and especially Clinton actually want the VP slot.

Who wants to be second fiddle to a second place General Election Campaign this Fall?

I don't believe Sen. Clinton has layed all her cards on the table and this is very critical to the success of the Democratic party winning the Presidency. Sen. Obama appears to be the best person to lead the country. There is a lot of speculation over this but I believe If he becomes the next President he would restore the credibilty of our nation to the world.
Democrats need to stop the bickering and move on..... there is an election at stake.

Edwards Doesn't have enought to balance out what Obama needs. Which is someone like Webb in regards to dealing with the war. Richardson has a strong foreign policy record, Hagel is a nutral repulica ho could help bring the two parties together, Biden, is a rough rider, he'll have Obama's back like a true VP Edwards would be good in other areas within Obam's cabinet

Edwards is weak politically after Kerry lost and thats why he didn't do good in the Pres. election. I don't want a dream ticket because if Obama loses I don't want it to reflect Hillary's chance's of running again.

Hillary has to be VP or Obama is not going to get to the White Huse.

Then we can have four more years of Bush just as the pundits
appear to want.

They will have no one but themselves to thank.

Obama/Edwards would be a dream ticket. I was sad when he dropped out of the race. What most people tend to forget is that his beautiful wife Elizabeth is fighting cancer and he needs to be in a position where he can run to her at a moments notice. Now here is a man that has morals and values.

Four years ago he could not even carry his own state! It may be he dropped out of the race way early this year because he also knew he could not win even the primary in his home state. But, with that being said, someone find him a job in Washington. He does nothing for us in North Carolina anyhow. Wait a minute, I stand corrected. He does pay a lot of real estate taxes on his five million dollar home.

People who are opposing this Dream Ticket are GOP scalawags and most of them are racists. These people are planning to stage an attack for Barrack Obama Presidency. Everything has been planned to destroy his image and will use race card against him but if Clinton is with him in the Ticket they will need to change their plans. They included Senator Clinton remarks and others to their plans.

These are GOP's dirty tactics to win in November!

We call on all democrats to join together and push for this "Dream Ticket" to win back the White House from the GOP.

Hillary is emotionally unstable and narcissistic, she could not tolerate be defeated. It's all abuto her ego, me,me,me, and me !

And she still don't get it., like many Americans.

Obama means change, to get rid off the old style of politics.

Can you imagine her under stress? She would press the red button !

Most of the comments i've read are thoughtless. It takes very little brains to insult someone. This is the reason why change needs to happen NOW. We cannot afford to keep thinking in the mindset of the past. The United States of America has spoken and Obama is the nominee, like it or not. Take a look around you....things are changing whether you like it or not. When are we going to work together, think together love one another together. I would not bet the ranch on any canidate who shows any resemblence to any one president of the past. We need change NOW, let it go people you have no other choice at this point its a new beginning like it or not. AMERICA HAS SPOKEN.....NOW!

Hey Barb. I like your idea about McCain naming one of his good friends from the business community as VP. Maybe the former CEO of Enron, or Bear Stearns. I think they are available. Wolfowitz would be a good choice too. He had such a good record at the World Bank. Then again, maybe Rupert Murdock -- oh yeah -- not American.

How's about that good Republican Ed McMahon! McCain-McMahon! The double Mac attack! I like it.

I think joining Hillary as VP to Obama's Presidency is Great for the Country and the Democratic Party. It will solidify the Democratic Party. Their platforms are basically the same and it will be good for our Country to have them both to lead our Country back to its feet. This is also a "History in the Making"...
I will be very proud to tell my granchildren that i have lived in the days when the first African-American and an American-Woman were given this noble responsibilities of leading our Country as President and Vice President.

WITH 1 MILLION HOMES IN FORECLOSURE AND CLIMBING ALONG WITH ENORMOUS JOB LOSS AND RISING FOOD AND FUEL COST, I HOPE ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY IF OBAMA DOESN'T PICK HILLARY THEN I'LL VOTE MCCAIN. YOU WILL NOT ONLY LOSE THE WHITE HOUSE BUT YOU MAY LOSE YOUR HOUSE AND JOB. WE ARE A FAMILY OF THREE WITH ONE INCOME OF OVER $100,000/YEAR AND LIVE VERY MODESTLY AND YESTERDAY WE WERE POSSIBLY LOOKING AT LOSING THAT INCOME DUE TO RISING FUEL COST. I WAS TERRIFIED. I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR MORE OF THE SAME.

Maybe Hillary will take the hint.

Edwards would be a great Attorney General. His integrity might be a challenge for those who have been there under Bush.

To An Ohio Combat Vet Observation - "He won't salute our flag or wear a flag pin." This is an outright lie!

Who said or made the rule that you have to place your hand over your heart when the Star Spangled Banner is sung? Isn't this the protocol used for the Pledge of Allegiance? Who made the rule that the flag pin is anything other than lapel jewelry? It's a free country. No one can dictate what another person should wear on their lapel.

Mr. Combat Vet, if this is all you are smart enough to complain about, maybe you should be checked for post traumatic stress syndome. Now get to the REAL issues that Americans are facing. Not some stupidity about salutes and jewelry.

Obama is not asking these people to be his runningmate, it's the media.

What is all this about white people going on now. Obama does not hate white people, his mother was white. It does not matter who said what as long as Obama himself did not say it. So keep your tapes and everything else. The republicans must hate all people the way people are struggling now.

I have always respected John Edwards and think he is a good, caring man. What he lacked in the presidential campaign was the ability to project a full-bodied message/vision and so did not connect on the grander political scale. This is not a deficiency of character though and I would be thrilled to see him in a position in the progressive Obama cabinet.

Thank you Mr. Edwards for being more selfless than probably any of the other candidates, but especially for putting the sin of poverty on the national radar screen. Thank you for endorsing our next president.

United for the common good. Obama 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's with the PATRIOTIC-POLICE? WHO APPOINTED THESE PEOPLE TO JUDGE OTHERS PATRIOTISM ON WHETHER THEY WEAR A FLAG PIN OR NOT?! ARE WE BACK IN NAZI GERMANY?

Patriotism is a matter of heart, we are not to judge! This is scary! WE HAPPEN TO LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY...... AND YOU "FLAG PIN" PEOPLE DISRESPECT OUR FREEDOM THAT HAS BEEN FOUGHT FOR WITH THE BLOOD OF PATRIOTS WHEN YOU JUDGE ANOTHER AMERICAN'S PATRIOTISM OR QUESTION IT! SHAME ON YOU!

This is what the Republicans and George W., have managed to do to our nation......... make us question one another's patriotism! DISGUSTING.... AND I BET YOU CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIAN...... WELL, PLEASE SPEND SOME TIME READING THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW...... JESUS SAYS "DO NOT JUDGE LEST YOU BE JUDGED!"

I am saddened that our hopes and dreams have been beaten out of us to the point that an honest person that has not been corrupted by Washington politics is actually being badmouthed and questioned. President Obama is a godsend and he will 'try' and I say 'try' to fix our country because that was a pretty big mess the Republicans left him to clean up.
Attorney General Edwards will do great! He is a good man and he deserves it!
Or...
Would you all rather see the people in your families sent to a working vacation in Iraq as Bush/McCain promise to do?
Or maybe you don't think women deserve a choice to determine what to do with their bodies? Hey if that is the case then I am with you and you should vote for the patriot McSame.

From one Columbia grad to another ...

I recommend that you ask John to join the VP Selection Team .... He has practical experience and it would help his political constiuency feel that their hot buttons were part of the selection process.

Eric J. Holder for Attorney General

John Edwards for Secretary of Health & Human Services...

Hillary supporters follow her with religious fervor, but they are tiny in the big scheme of American politics. Obama would lose his base in order to sway a few million disgruntled Hillary voters.

Not worth it.

John Edwards is a smart man. HE was my first choice for
the Democratic candidate for President. BUT - because
he was not a novelty 'not the first woman OR the first black' he
got virtually NO MEDIA COVERAGE...and when I say that this
primary was media-driven - this is what I mean. His main
platform was to abolish poverty IN THIS COUNTRY. To go
after the big drug companies on our behalf, in other words
to take care of US. The issues that hit us personally -
every day. But he was constantly in the background of
this media circus. What a shame for all of us.

To: "HILLARY WAS FORCED OUT BY SEXISM!!!"

I'm a woman and don't believe that at all. It was her ca-razy character. Another woman who had better character might've won the nomination.

I support Obama. And if he didn't win I wouldn't say he lost because of racism.

Get over your bitterness!

I'm a woman and don't believe that at all. It was her ca-razy character. Another woman who had better character might've won the nomination.

I support Obama. And if he didn't win I wouldn't say he lost because of racism.

Get over your bitterness!

Bill Richardson would make an excellent VP. Hillary Clinton is out of the question, I'd take Jeb Bush over her as VP at this point.

It's a tragedy that Senator Edwards does not want to run as V.P. with Senator Obama. After all, how is Obama going to win without capturing North Carolina the way Edwards did that for Kerry in 2004??? Come on...

The VP spot is Obamas choice to make and no one elses. I amuses me how everyone tries to interject in their own agenda. If Obama chooses Clinton as VP it will be because he thinks whe is the best person for the job and will insure that we win the general election. If he chooses someone else it will be for the same reasons. Wveryone is getting all bent out of shape for no reason and it is only hurting us from winning against McCain. We are all on the same side now. Chill out. All the comments about Clinton wanting this or that are rediculous and have no basis. Don't be so paranoid. Stop it. Chill. Both Obama and Clinton want the same thing. For the Democrates to win in the General Election. Both Obama and Clinton are two of the best Democrats out there. They are both really great people who want to fix this country. They do not have a gang land mentality and are not part of a mafia. They want what is best for this party and for the country. It has only been three days since the election and these two are tired from months of campaigning. Give them some time to relax before going into the general election.

I feelk the best running mate for OBAMA will Ms. Opera Widfrey for following reasons:
1. She is an woman and as such no one will complain that woman is discreminated
2. She is from Chicago and very well known to Barak Obama and Michell Obama and are best friends and as such they will get along very well in the White House
3. She is black and as such BLACK America will not complain that Blacks are neglected
4. Lastly but not the least that Opera is wealthiest woman in the world. So she can finance the campaign of her own fund and there by the public need not to support the campaign financially and we can spend that money for our daily life

What nonsense....wait about a week until after all the current mania begins to fade and more folks will realize that an Obama/Clinton ticket -- while sounding like a dream-- would be a true nightmare. These polls just frustrate me. A better poll would be once a list of the VP candidates is released and we can all compare the strengths and weaknesses of each. There are plenty of viable candidates who can help retain Clinton supporters AND bring other skills and experiences to the table.
