Would Clinton's supporters really consider backing McCain this fall?
Would Clinton's supporters really consider backing McCain this fall?

WASHINGTON (CNN) - While Sen. Hillary Clinton was endorsing Sen. Barack Obama, some of those weighing in on her campaign Web site were less willing to concede.

As Clinton wrapped up her remarks Saturday in Washington with a plea for supporters to work "as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me," many were posting messages saying they would never vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee. A few even called on her backers to visit Sen. John McCain's campaign Web site.

"I love her and will vote for her in 2012, but it's McCain all the way now," wrote one within moments of the former first lady's address.

Whether that sort of statement signals a defection to the presumptive Republican nominee, a voter less likely to make it to the polls on Election Day or just a bit of low-grade, post-primary grumbling - it's the sort of sentiment that makes for a nagging, low-grade anxiety among nervous Democrats and brings a gleam to the eye of McCain.

As Democratic leaders met last month and decided to seat Florida and Michigan at half strength at the convention, angry Clinton supporters who had backed her plea for the seating of full delegations from both states began to chant, "Let's go, McCain!"

And as Clinton's presidential bid wound down, some of her loudest supporters began insisting they would consider voting for McCain if she were not the Democratic nominee.

Let's get something straight, you Obama supporters, i'm not changing over to McCain, because Hillary lost, so please understand me and alot of others when i say this..understand"i will not vote for Obama because he is not the right person to lead our Country, he totally lie to our faces and insisted that in the 20 years he and his family attended Revend Wrigths Church he didn't know really what kind of person he was, he and Michelle never heard him preach, negatively???? That totally makes me sick! i'm not buying it, you people can, like i have said so many times, (because he is new, and really shouldn't have all this baggage coming into this campaign, he did, his supporters knew this, he especially did everything he could to hide this from us, and you all know it! and you are asking me and others to look the other way? like it isn't true?? Sorry Hillary! you mean the world to me and millions of others, but we cannot go for Obama.

JohnK   June 9th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Let all of them vote for McCain. Let them keep digging Hillary's future under. If anybody does a search for news when Hillary decided to run everyone in the news said the same thing, she was the winner even before the primaries began, so this whole made up idea that the media was against her is not supported. Was it possible that people changed their minds for themselves because they felt someone else might be better?
Viva the Hillary Republic, forget about democracy

For all the Clinton and MCCain supporters who claim Obama does not have enough experience.

Can any of you, please tell me which of the following have ANY EXPERIENCE as being the President of the US?
A. Sen Clinton
B. Sen McCain
C. Sen Obama
D. Pinky, from Pinky and the Brain

....take your time....
What's the answer? D. > Pinky! Yes, there was one episode where he actually won the Presidency of the US.

So, please tell me how all that experience translates to being ready to be POTUS?

That means, the only thing we can really measure is judgement.
Who showed better judgment concerning the Iraq war?
Who showed better judement concerning the Gas Tax Holiday?
Who shows better judgement concerning diplomacy?
..etc, etc.

In my book:
GOOD JUDGEMENT TRUMPS OUTDATED AND OUTMODED EXPERIENCE.

No McCain!   June 9th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

I have a hard time believing TRUE democrats are willing to vote for McCain this fall. Especially considering Hillary and Barack are almost exactly the same on the issues while John and Hillary are completely opposite.

Seriously, why are you punishing Obama for Hillary losing the campaign? Why do you acting as though he stole the nomination? He won the majority of delegates, that's not stealing. He won, get over it.

McCain supporters always say, "he isn't a third Bush term." Think again, it says he votes with Bush on over 80 percent of the issues! Saying he is exactly like Bush is a little extreme, but he is incredibly similar.

Bush's policies only caused problems in America. We need change!

Hillary has always been my one and only candidate for the next president. I was totally devastated when she lost the primary. After her concession speech on Sat, my emotions were running pretty high the whole day and night. Her defeat felt like my personal failure. I didn’t think I was a feminist. But, why do I feel so frustrated and dissatisfied all of sudden? It is impossible for me to think about voting anyone besides Hillary now. McCain, NO WAY! Obama, NOT YET!

I think I will still go out and vote. I will write down Hillary’s name on my ballot even though she has zero chance of winning this coming election. It’s a show of support and a message to Hillary. I’ll be waiting for her in 2012.

Texan for Progression   June 9th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

To "Selected no Elected":

There was no conspiracy. Sure Clinton had 18 million votes, but so too did Obama. Obama won based on the RULES (how delegates are awarded)...even after the RULES had been compromised to benefit Clinton.

To Clinton and Obama supporters:

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Sure there are those who will defect to McCain based on pure, unbridled hatred, but my bet is that they are far and few in between. In time, most Clinton supporters will come to the logical conclusion that of the two remaining candidates, Obama most closely represents all Clinton-supporters' interests, including the interest of those who will vote McCain. If I'm wrong and there is that much hatred in the hearts of that many Clinton supporters, then America is already doomed because the problems here at home is not isolated to "Washington Politics", but is at the core of the American people. Obama's platform is predicated upon the belief that the American people are good, but that American politics are no longer representative of the people. He intends to change that.

SDunn   June 9th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Kelly I'm sorry but Obama didn't copy from Hillary. She copied from him and it was so obvious at every debate. At one point in time she didn't even have a timetable for withdrawal, but all of a sudden after the debate where she was stumped regarding that question, she had a timetable at the next debate. Obama had a timetable and presented his idea at the debate where she didn't have a clear answer regarding withdrawal. She only started talking about energy policy after Obama was drilling his in every stump speech. This is the problem: You've only been listening to Hillary all this time and that's why you think Obama copied her policies. Now is the time to research Obama and see that he was discussing his policies way before Iowa.

The Obamas repeatedly are presented as coming from the AA perspective that is SO different from the easy ride all of us others have had in the US. All immigrants met with discrimination in some way or other.

I was born in Italy... and dealt with hardship and hate as an ousider when I came to the US at age 6. That is no excuse for a lifetime of reverse hatred and nursing my wounds and carrying a grudge against ALL OTHER Americans.

Obama an Michelle may well have difficulty representing the ENTIRE COUNTRY- an not just African Americans. WHAT happened to the melting pot.

HILLARY CLINTON understood that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS.

Bye, Bye Obama!!!

Smiley from Conyers, GA   June 9th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

It is quite astonishing to see how many Hillary supporters are calling Obama supporters mean and nasty when HRC supporters were just as nasty. Is that the pot calling the kettle black? This double standard has to stop. The vitriol came from both sides. Get off your high horses and unite for the sake of the Democratic party and this country.

Obama 08   June 9th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

I dont understand y people are so against Obama. As far as I am concerned he won fair and square. Hillary did not win popular vote, she did not in most states and he ran a clean campaign. So, give him his credit he brought down the democratic dynasty. I beleive even if a small amount of people switch from hi8llary to mccain he will still win in a landslide in november. If he can beat the clintons who his ideas are very similar I do not believe he will have any problem beating a lame duck candidate with drastically different views.

km   June 9th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Don't hold your breath for Clinton in 2012...she created this mess by playing the victim and dividing the party. If he loses, she is done in the Democratic party.

Maggie   June 9th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

I think most of the so-called "Clinton supporters" and "Obama supporters" on here are Republicans in disguise. First, they posted to keep the party in distress and divided during the campaign. Now they are posting trying to convince the real Clinton supporters (like myself) to vote for McCain. And they are also posting as "Obama supporters" with nasty, divisive, anti-Clinton comments. Again, to upset the Clinton supporters and convince them to vote for McCain. Sorry, republicans, but your little game isn't going to work on me. I know that Clinton will get an appropriate job, whether it be VP or Secretary of HHS or a Supreme Court nomination. I did not and do not want Obama to be president, but I will vote for him because I REALLY do not want McCain to be president. I would urge the REAL Clinton supporters to vote for the one who is closest to her ideals, and that is Obama. And I would urge the REAL Obama supporters to not post anti-Clinton comments, but to admit that she was a formidable opponent who is a loyal supporter of the democratic party (and Obama himself has stated that he is a better person for having run against her). Thank you.

TrueDemocrat   June 9th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

I truly do not understand HRC supporters who say the will not vote for Obama no matter what, when he and HRC have a platform that is basically identical. You can't even say that he played dirty politics because he pretty much stayed on the high road the entire time. If you would rather sit out, or vote for McCain, rather than vote for the Democratic nominee you are either racist AND/OR not a true democrat. My respect for Hillary deteriorated along the way, but I'd still vote for her if she were the nominee. Four more years of Bush is not an option

Tony in Douglasville   June 9th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

I'm tired of those Hillary supporters who lost the game and now want to take their ball home, I reach out to the willing but have nothing but disdain for the ignorant. Go vote for McSame, align yourselves with those who claim to be "Pro Life" but plan to take away your ability to choose. Keep sending our children to the incenerator that is Iraq, and be proud when those of us (THE REAL MAJORITY) that put Obama as the nominee hold her accountable in 2012.

You lost once, find solace in that feeling when McSame loses in November too. Change is coming, can you feel it?

SONIA4HILLARY, we are glad we could help. But you should not wait to start talking. Could have won if you would have started on your own. The best part is that in 2012 Hillary will be 70. Then she could be the oldest women ever to run for office.

============================

LMAO you do Obama math??? Hillary will be 64 in 2012!!! Young and if you recall...women live longer than men.

That is why there will be so many women voting against Obama in November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RC   June 9th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Obama is a Harvard educated Constitutional Scholar. He did four years as an Illinois Senator and two years as US senator. Also he gave up a lucrative career to perform community service. He has written and co sponsered hundreds of bills. He also ran a brilliantly run campaign and managed to clinch the nomination as a relatively unknown by working very hard so Stop talking about his lack of so called experience. The ones with 'so called' experience got beat and made bad judgements to boot. BTW, what ever happend to the gas tax holiday?

Gene   June 9th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

Hillary's supporters 're bunch of morons....You all 're blaming Obama for her downfall....Where were you all when she ran the worst campaign in democratic party history?? WHERE were you all when her campaign went in debt???WHERE were you all when she ignored 50 states and caucuses strategy? WHERE were you all when Bill and Hillary injected race...

REASON WHY HILLARY AND BILL FAILED!!!!!!!!!!

1. Arrogant, She underestimated Barack

2. Dishonesty, Misspoke Bosnia Sniper

3. She surrounded herself with old delusional politicians, and bad advisers. Such as Lanny Davis, Bob Johnson and Mark Penn.

4. Ignored 50 states strategy, never planned beyond super Tues...

5. Bill Clinton was a distraction throughout the campaign trail

6. Her campaign’re been run by the special interest and lobbyists.

7. Bill, Hillary and her surrogates injected racism and sexism-it backfires.

8. Kitchen sink strategy and summer gas break was a failure.

9. Hillary praises McCain on national security that alone angered a lot of democrats and elected officials.

10. Bill and Hillary declared war/ mouth wagging with the media and press.

Linda31   June 9th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Kelly – Glad to hear that you will not vote out of revenge. I just want to touch on a couple of thing s you said.

- How could Obama copy Hillary's positions? This is not high school and he was not looking over her shoulder. Maybe, just maybe he believes it and is fighting for this. Also, if you go to the library of congress you can see for yourself what he has been working on since being in office. Very similar to those positions he copied...

- Why exactly do you doubt his sincerity? As for McCain look at his past record minus the war. I think some have blinders on because of his service. Learn about his first wife, wuite telling about McCain's intergrity. Also the manor in which he treats his wife, well documented. And his behavior when Clinton was called out her name at his event....a laugh.

- I too believe that Hillary campaign her heart out for Obama. I also believe that she would not do it if she did not believe he would be better than McCain.

Bryan   June 9th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

The best thing for Hillary is for her to run on an incumbent ticket and not following McCain's shoes.

Hillary was not ready and did not organize her campaign to win and you want her to be President? All Obama did was put togther a better organization and win the nomination as a huge underdog. Seems like he is much more qualified than HRC.

I have a great idea!
Stop trying to convince these people. They are loving the attention, even the negative.
They are Reps, Lesbians and old ladies still in lust with Bill.
Maybe if we would ignore them they would go away. If not, lets just tune out. Let them talk to each other and we regular folks will find some blogs where discussion is civil. If not, Hillary has been blogged long enough. I am sick of looking at her picture.
She is history. Do not dignify their ravings by responding.
I won't. As an addendum, I personally prefer the posts on MSNBC. There are more level headed people there.

MD   June 9th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

It should be simple. Clinton supporters sound like they are "threatening" not to vote for Obama. Ok, fine. DON'T. WHO CARES? If you choose to exercise your democratic right to cut your nose to spite your face, then go ahead and do it. Just stop blogging about it.

You all are beginning to sound like the person you were supporting. Whinning didn't get Hillary anywhere, and it isn't going to get her supporters anywhere either.

Sure, Obama would like Hillary supporters' vote, but I don't think he should beg for it.

I think Hillary's supporters are feeling a false sense of power, and are milking it. ENOUGH ALREADY. DO WHAT YOU WANT. JUST STOP TELLING US ABOUT IT.

nnate, OH   June 9th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

This race has been frustrating to both sides of the primary season, so it is not uncommon for fellow supporters to insult one another. This created a rift starkly evident in the last few primaries and the DNC Rules and Bylaws committee. For the Obama camp it was the forestalling of the inevitable, for the Clinton camp, the remaining primaries were a remaining hope that Clinton would be the nominee, or at least regain at least some part of her dignity.

To Clinton supporters,
Obama was stemmed as a racist, elitist, and sexist when there was few or no evidence of these accusations. He was also convicted of stealing the election, when he was merely following the rules of the DNC. Before you cast in your ballots, take a look at him as a person, and see how far he has come in America.

To Obama supporters,
It would be in your best interest to give Clinton supporters their space and respect, no matter how frustrating the season was. She had a great second half at the primary season, proving her mettle as the president of the US. She had the support of 18 million voters, for many other reasons besides just voting against Obama.

The first step of unity is mutual respect. Be objective in choosing your candidates and you will vote well.

I hope that Hillary declines the write in vote. You all will be sorry for your McCain vote. You're only hurting yourselves and your family. You're not hurting Obama or Hillary because they've got money and they're set for life. You're voting against your own interests. Also, Hllary lost because of what happened during her campaign. She ran out of money quickly and her staff was fighting amongst each other. She ran a good campaign but Obama's was more organized. The media in my opinion blasted Obama more than Hillary. They followed Hillary's every lead regarding the Bitter comment, Ayers, Rev Wright, etc. The media discussed obama's scandals for months! They only talked about Bosnia for a week. Obama never brought up any of her past scandals and rubbed them in her face. This was Hillary's campaign to lose and she lost fairly. Obama won fairly because people voted for him and not because of MSM. Hillary is not even including Obama's caucus states that he won in her pop vote tally. You all believe everything that she tells you whether it's false or not. Go to fact check.org about her popular vote tally. But the fact of the matter is Hillary is a brilliant woman and she ran a great campaign. If she would've fired Mark Penn earlier she might have pulled this thing out, but she didn't. She lost fair and square and now it's time to support our nominee and focus on McCain.

McCain is trying to sweettalk Hillary's supporters on the rebound. It's really distasteful, watching this sort of pandering. I really really hope they don't fall for it... but, I won't hold my breath. People vote against their interests all the time, unfortunately. And that's how we got Bush for 8 years.

Barack the Vote in RI   June 9th, 2008 4:03 pm ET

I think it's pretty pathetic and sad to throw your country under the bus so to speak, embracing a candidate who embraces war, openly acknowledges that "the economy is not one of his strong suits" endorses 95% of Bush's policies and stands for everything Hillary, Barack and all Democrats speak out and fight against – simply because your particular candidate loss the election. I'm sure your loyalty should be applauded but at this point, many of you HRC supporters are bordering on the insane and are acting like you need professional help.

As if you haven't been handed enough from our efforts. Sorry, we don't need rock star, and maybe if you actually have to go out and fight for you own rights, you'll learn something. One more question-if all you young intelligent people are so smart, why do you need Roe v. Wade? Can't you figure out how to use one of the many types of birth control?

Carey, Richmond, KY   June 9th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

Democrats will be united in November and toss out the Republicans in the White House, Congress, and Senate! Our Constitution is in shreds but we'll BYOT (bring our own tape) to put it back together. We'll restore our national reputation for justice, opportunity, and liberty. No one who supports Clinton or Obama could possibly vote for McCain or any of the Republicans who have allowed corporate thieves to destroy our environment and economy. I'm just gonna stay home and watch on TV Mr. President McCain telling the women of America they have lost another right! That will show them dummycrats and fix Obama!
Go McCane in 08!

Cortez   June 9th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

This goes to show you our country is still races !

Obama will win !

John Smith   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

My fear is that Hillary attracted so many 'ignorant and uneduacted" voters that there is NO point for Obama to try to win these folks. These are the folks who put Bush in office, they are the folks who are high in debt, they are the folks who always vote against their personal short- and long-term interests!

Mike in Scranton, PA   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

This Hillary supporter, too, will be casting his vote for McCain in November! In fact, I just put my McCain bumper sticker on my car this morning.

Sorry, Obama, supporters, but after all of your vitriolic comments over the past few months toward Sen. Clinton and her supporters - and your complete and total disrespect - I truly look forward to casting my vote for McCain. I cannot and will not support Barack "Present" Obama no matter how much you and the media continue to try to sell him.

New Day   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

Can someone please send me a link to anything where Obama or his campaign was disrespectful or sexist to Hillary? He said so many times that Hillary should stay in the race until the end that I thought he was a paid spokesperson for her. I understand Hillary supporter's claims about sexism in the campaign but ignorant people are all around us. Some are sexist and some are racist. its the reality of life. 21% in West Virgina said that they voted based on race. Those are startling numbers. I know that Obama got 90% of the black vote but, let me explain why that is different; some black people were voting FOR Obama because he was black, not voting against Hillary because she was white. I think its perfectly understandable for blacks to vote for Obama just as it is for women to vote for Hillary. But, to vote against Hillary because she is a woman or to vote against Obama because he is black is offensive.

Paula   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

CNN is obviously trying to help the Clintons before the Paul vs Clinton trial.Trying to force her on the Dems is going to backfire. The media needs to back off. They can't report on it and I'm sure they won't post this because they seem to want to yet again control the election results. The Clintons don't provide the change we need.I hear nobody saying they will vote for MCain so I don't believe these polls are truthful. My whole town is backing Obama.

RC   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

Strange behavior by some Hillary supporters. Switching to McCain out of spite is just wrong. It makes you look childish or insane. Obama is the only choice for better change.

YES WE CAN   June 9th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

We all can change the ignorant and arrogant course of this country but only if we vote Democrat. McCain is not the answer. We need change and the Democratic party are the only ones offering it. McCain isn't even strong on the economy which is of imminent importance. Dow drops 400pts last Friday and oil up $16 dollars in two days and you want to vote for McCain to spite Obama. Voting on bitter emotions will really put the US in a hole.

Florida voter   June 9th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

GO MCCAIN 08!!!! I will never vote for nobama, NEVER!!! HILLARY 2012!!! Cant wait to see obama lose.

Leah DiMarco, Texas   June 9th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

The Hillary supporters that vote for McCain will be disrespecting Hillary and everything she stands for.
McCain is truly ANTI-Women. And McCain's campaign has used many foul words when talking about Hillary. Wake up Hillary people – McCain is BAD!

Raise her UP in Nov   June 9th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

To Marlie,

Marlie... the write in vote does not apply in most states. Check out the rules for your state. Some states allow it. Others, HTC must file to be a write in. Some... NM, may give my HRC write in vote to Obama (the "formal party nominee)

Movement to writein is online now. Check it out.

All HTC supporters DO what you can to restore fair and honest primaries in our party. Do not let them set this hate and attack the other nominee until you bloody her strategy become the NORM for all future primaries.

God bless you all. Follow your heart and your conscience and make your voice heard with your vote.

The Big Picture   June 9th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

The funniest thing about all of this is that we are all supposed to be educated adults with common sense and respect for kind. we claim to be the piliar of democracy and freedom. yet we all behave just the opposite. people wonder why the world holds such angst towards the US. well just look at what is happening right now. how can we expect other nations to want to adopt the concepts of freedom we preach when all we show them is disfunction and child like antics. this election will affect the WORLD as do all our elections. the right to vote is a beautiful thing. why must we all destroy what the founders of this country tried so hard to create. indeed it is a sad time for America if this is a mark of things to come.

fred   June 9th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

hillarys people arent to smart if they vote for mccain , i can tell you one thing hillary will never be pres. , because she will be the one that brings him down, all her backers dont want to vote for obama. her backers say they are democrats but they are not real democrats would never vote for mccain.

Cuacus = Peer pressure fest!   June 9th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

Not going to happen. This Hillary supporter is voting McCain. It was her year and the media and her own party backstabbed her.

McCain 08

mary cleveland, ohio   June 9th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

Take a look at your children, your parents, your community, and y our bank balance. Then tell me you think McCain can help this country more than Obama.

Reality might bite, it will bite more with McCain in office and every Democrat worth their salt knows that. Republicans are for the wealthy, the business and self employed people. Republicans have never been for the little guy and we all see the effects of Republican rule for the past eight years. Look around, things can and will get worse with another Republican president.

Is It True?   June 9th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

I can't see why anyone would vote for Obama. George Bush and the Republican party have done a great job over the past 8 years. Even John McCain, who is known for being a straight talker, says so!

"Americans overall are better off because we have had a pretty good prosperous time, with low unemployment and low inflation, and a lot of good things have happened," McCain said in a Jan. 30 debate of Republican candidates at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California. More of the SAME! Vote John McCain 2008!

Paul, Ohio   June 9th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

Please, Hillary supporters, do me a favor. Watch a debate between Obama and McCain before you make up your mind. If you think McCain is the better choice, go ahead and vote for him. But I suspect that if you give both of them a fair chance to earn your vote, Obama will win easily.

M.S. Indiana   June 9th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

And what do we have in common with you McCain ?? Nothing, we wanna move forward and make USA the leader of the world again.. NO more wars and benefits for the veterans !!!!

Mike   June 9th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

McCain is more a democrat than Obama. Me and many other democrats are voting for McCain. The only remote chance Obama has in getting our votes is if Hillary is on the ticket with him.

Otherwise:

Hillary 012

Kenneth M.   June 9th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

SONIA4HILLARY, we are glad we could help. But you should not wait to start talking. Could have won if you would have started on your own. The best part is that in 2012 Hillary will be 70. Then she could be the oldest women ever to run for office.

w.l. jones   June 9th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

I were taught in order to have experience you would acually have done the job before. I were raise on a farm and did most all the job on it now am I an experience farmer no only following orders. This go for every president elect in the history of our country not one of them had experience opon taken office including a vice-president. It and on the job training for both canidate elect. Have a bless day.

girlscoutnut   June 9th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

YOU'VE GOT ME SIR! Far too early for polls to mean anything as we have learned that factor. The race is just starting so let the games begin. McCain is the best of the two choice. Obama is akin to a high school student attending space camp and being given the command of the next space shuttle mission? Actually, that analogy has more merit or relationship than Obama in the legislature to the presidency?

Christopher, Madison, WI   June 9th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

You nasty evil Hillary supporters can vote for Satan for all I care. Now take your marbles and throw your little tantrum at home. The hostile hateful vindictive portion of the Hillary camp make up less than 5%. It would appear there are more of you but not true. The same bloggers with different names on every site flooding to make it appear like a problem. We don't need pseudo democrats. March over to the dark side. We don't need you in our vision of change. However the "feminist" are more than welcome because no true "feminist" would ever vote for a warmongering, tax break for the rich giving, liar like McSame!

Ben   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Give the Clinton supporters some credit, they aren't really stupid enough to vote McCain. Most of the posts claiming to be Clinton supporters switching to McCain are just republicans trying to stir up trouble. Don't let them.

2008,2012,2016,2020........................   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

People, People, are you listening to yourselves? What do you think the future will hold for all Americans if you carry out your threats?
Another umpteen years of revolution, another umpteen years of McBush failed policies, and your Hillary never, ever, becoming the President of the good old USA! Why? Simple. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander too. Barack plays by the rules all right but do you think that his supporters will stand idle by and let you get away with throwing your Country under the bus, just out of sheer spite? If you do I think that you are in for a very rude awakening! You boycott Barack this time, and his supporters will never vote and support Hillary in the future. Barack supporters let's show them that we can play by their rules just as easily as they can! You would think that by now after having made so many mistakes, that Hillary's supporters would have learned from experience, well I guess they are slow learners.

Ty, Minnesota   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Hillary supporters! Let's get this straight. Obama is our nominee. No complaining or whining will ever get Hillary as the nominee now. The picture is clear. You either stay true to your values, the same values that Clinton and Obama shares or you go McCain just to so all of us can have another disastrous 4 years. For all those Hillary supporters that are thinking about going to the McCain camp you better think twice. Al Gore said it best at one time, "This isn't about you. It's about your country."

Jeff in Hampshire, IL   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Mike and others tell us "say what you wish Obama supporters, it's our vote"

Thanks for the approval. Ok how's this:
IF YOU WERE IN AGREEMENT WITH HILLARY ON THE ISSUES, THEN YOU ARE ABSOLUTE FOOLS (AND BIG BABIES WHO CAN'T PLAY BY THE RULES WHEN YOU AREN'T WINNING) TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN.

leon   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Everybody you need to read the Bill Cosby article on the Wall Street Journal about Obama. It is really a good article analyzing why we should include the impact of Obama's church on his career and political judgement.

Janet, American via Canada   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Obviously, those illfated Clintons supporters don't care about the economy! They must be all rich and happy! And, that goes for those who say they won't vote! They should send money to those families without employment, health care, food, homes, etc., for this even Senator Clinton should help support those who this economy has taken their livilhood and all those soldiers and their families who gave their lives for an unjust WAR!

True Democratics and SMART THINKING VOTERS just have to look, hear and read what is/has happened to this country and its economy!

As a 63 yr old Female, I just want to get rid of the Republicans and give ourselves a chance at a new beginning, Senator Obama has shown Honesty (not lies) Dignity (not hatred and Division) and the list goes on, even with the negative attacks from both sides of the table!

I certainly don't want us to turn back history 50+year, and go back into the kitchen, Mrs. Obama definitely agrees with that fact!

Kelly   June 9th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

I am a Hillary supporter who takes her vote very seriously. I will not vote OUT of REVENGE. I would Not Try to defeat Obama.

I am not sure about Obama. He has copsied almost All of Hillary's positions on the issues; that is why there was such little difference between them.

I am not sure of Obama's Sincerity. McCain Does have Integrity and has show it through out his life. At least I feel that I can believe him; that is why I am considering voting for him.

Obama Supporters- If he does Not win It Is NOT because of Hillary's supporters; it is because He could Not connect with the Voters.

I believe Hillary will campaign as hard for Obama as she would have for herself. She Does Stand Behind Her Word.

Cali Girl   June 9th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

Still for Hill,

You are just spewing information from the republican notebook, voting present on issues, anti-american radicals.

Get informed and think before you speak. Don't just repeat what you hear because it actually makes you sound ignorant.

If you are/were a Hillary supporter, you would know that Hillary proposed just about the same programs that Barack has.

Jonah from NJ   June 9th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

I am a McCane man because he will send me and all my friends to Iraq for free. I always wanted to see Europe! Go Bush/McCain!

joyo   June 9th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

And you Hillary supporters, you all got duped, your votes wasn't going to be important, if she would have wrapped things up by Feb 5th, Florida or Michigan in her book didn't count. Obama let her get by the rules twice and she still lose, fair is fair, but the psychogy behind supporting Hillary is as evil and deceptive as she is

Raise her UP in Nov   June 9th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

To fellow HRC supporters... Each of us... do whatever we need to do to end fixed primaries.

Follow your conscience... I trust you.

We have MANY OPTIONS:
Some of us are in states where we can honor her with a write in vote.
Those that can't may have a chance for a protest vote.
NM- your write in will go to Obama (as I understand it)
Consider the GREEN PARTY candidate.
Consider McCain.

DO whatEVER is necessary to tell the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, the DNC, the Media and Celebrities to STOP SWAYING ELECTIONS.

Bring back the people's right to vote- freedom, fair elections, justice and equality for ALL.

CNN PLEASE POST THIS AND THE BEST THING CNN CAN DO IS TO STOP THESE BLOGHS. STOP THESE STUPID REMARKS.
have a better day

Done deal   June 9th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Hillary supporters, think a little bit. If you vote for McCain and the Republicans win, a lot of Obama's supporters (with the same stupid reasoning) will make you pay in 2012, where they will vote for McCain to block Hillary. Is that what you want? 16 years of Republican rule????

Informed voter from florida   June 9th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Dis someone really say "oh sweet BLACK jesus?".

Oh my, I am so ashamed. How Could I vote for McCain? Well let's see....EASILY! I'll be waving banners and reminding ALL women and Hillary supporters how Obama was FORCED upon us so that a WOMAN would not possibly be president. I'm a disabled vet AND a woman! My vote goes to McCain and I don't give a hoot what you brainwashed Obama people think about it. You can keep on fooling yourselves but you'll see in November. Obama will NOT win!

SONIA4HILLARY IS A REPUBLICAN   June 9th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

SONIA4HILLARY clearly is a McCain supporter planted here to post. But it makes no sense, most people that read the CNN Political Blog aren't silly enough to listen to her rhetoric. We're obviously more informed. I can't even believe I wasted my time to respond to SONIA4HILLARY. I'm laughing at myself right now.

Daniel Wagle   June 9th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

I would say, as a Hillary supporter, if you JUST cannot vote for Obama, at LEAST vote for Democrats in EVERY other office. IF McCain gets in, and we elect a veto proof congress, he cannot get ANY of the right wing judges he wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade. He cannot stop gay rights. The domestic agenda would be controlled by the democrats, and maybe foreign policy could be controlled by McCain.

James Nelson   June 9th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Anybody dumb enough to think that Hillary and McCain have anything in common– and to vote as if they did, or to vote so because of a childish fit of pique– is too stupid to actually be a Democrat.

Anybody foolish enough to have endured 8 years of Bush and willing to endure another 4 of the same for no other reason than they can't master their temper, deserves what they get– a Supreme court packed with conservatives, more fiscal troubles, more healthcare problems, more climate change issues unaddressed, more banking, housing and oil troubles and four (or a hundred) more years of Iraq.

Too bad the rest of the country has to suffer for your tantrums.

David in Chicago   June 9th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

I wonder how many of Hillaries votes were Rush Limbaugh Republicans following orders.

Roger Robeson   June 9th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

I've been a Democrat all my life but come November, the choice is clear to me. John McCain will be getting my vote!

ktlin   June 9th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

McCain has to realize also that Obama is reaching out to all the Romney et al disapointed supporters. The very same thing happened on the GOP side only Romney dropped out to keep everything from becoming a circus. Hillary didn't. Nor did Huckabee but he wasn't the main challenger in my opinion to begin with. The same thing would have happened if Edwards hadn't dropped out. And Romney only suspended his campaign just like Hillary. They couldn't be more alike yet McCain has misread that also.

rexx   June 9th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Some of you obviously know nothing about politics. Quoting polls NOW is like quoting the weather forecast for 2043.

GROW UP   June 9th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WHINNINGAND CRYING FOUL AND THREATENING TO VOTE MCCAIN ARE NOT TRU HILLARY SUPPORTERS. THEY NEED TO CHECK THEIR MOTIVES BUT MANY OF THEM ALREADY KNOW. OBAMA AND HILLARY AND NOT THAT FAR APART ON THESE ISSUES. THEY DON'T WANT OT VOTE FOR BLACK MAN. ADMIT IT. I COULD RESPECT THAT MORE THAN LYING AND PRETENDING TO BE HILLARY SUPPORTERS. THEY WANTED A WOMEN IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND THINK A BLACK MAN TOOK IT FROM HER. WELL VOTE MCCAIN AT YPOUR OWN RISK BUT DON'T SAY YPU ARE HILLARY SUPPPORTERS. SHE DOESN'T SUPPORT THAT AND YOU INSULT HER. I LOVE MY FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COUNTRY TOO MUCH TO HAVE A TANTRUM OR BE A RACIST.

QuietStormX   June 9th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

These Women threatening to vote Republican must be homosexual and or racist? Barack Obama has said or done nothing to drive them away. Trying to blame someone else for Hillary's failed campaign is just blind and stupid. You want to play in a mans world, act like a man and take the defeat. If you're a Democrat, you are not real toward politics. There are winners and losers in the game. Men don't act like Hillary Clinton with this "feelings" stuff in having to take time too digest what next. Politics are not for soft people. They have to take the good and bad. For the most part, real women will take the time and learn plus listen. That is a real Democrat, not what the media runs on air over and over. Angry white woman.... "why?" Once these women calm down and open their eyes, they will come home to the Democratic party that looks out for women and their issues not republicans period.

Think about the Democratic party and the History being made around the world.

Washington, D.C.

ch   June 9th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

To Obama and his supporters: No Hillary for VP – no vote. Simple as that.

Give me a break   June 9th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

No Tom it isn't the same because McSame wants to continue the war in Iraq which is costing us billions of dollars. Obama wants to end the war and use that money to invest in infrastructure here in the U.S which would bring more jobs and stimulate the economy. How is the gas tax holiday, only potentially saving us $28 in 3 months, going to stimulate the economy when you're taking money away from the infrustructure budget? That will create more job loss! Obama has a real plan and has accounted for every dollar of spending in his plan (Pay as you Go) unlike McSame who wants to continue with the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest americans and big corporations and pander to those who are suffering in this country. He's a joke. Did you listen to the whole speech or just a blip of Obama's speech? Please do your research.

SONIA4HILLARY SPOUTS DRIBBLE   June 9th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

SONIA4HILLARY .... what are you talking about? Your posts have filled up the board and all you have spouted is rhetoric. Obama was chosen by the media? Yea right, CNN itself was more biased towards Hillary. Regardless of who was favored in the media, the voters chose the nominee not the media.

Now Hillary and Barack are very similar on the issues. So similar that it really boiled down to who people simply liked better. I would have voted for HIllary had she won b/c she's close to me on the issues.

Voting for McCain makes no sense if you were once a Clinton supporter. She wouldn't even respect you SONIA4HILLARY if you made that decision. What kind of an informed decision is that?

That's the exact opposite of what an intelligent candidate like Hillary would want from her electorate. Shame on you SONIA4HILLARY....SHAME ON ALL OF YOU HILLARY SUPPORTERS THAT WOULD CHANGE YOUR VOTE TO MCCAIN. YOUR BACKSTABBING HILLARY AND AMERICA BY VOTING FOR HIM. YOU'RE NOT HURTING OBAMA...YOU'RE HURTING YOURSELVES AND THE REST OF US. FOR SHAME ON YOU FLIP-FLOPPERS.

Chris   June 9th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

The HRC supporters are letting the media and the GOP get them off focus on what reallyt matters!!! THE ISSUES AND NOT ANOTHER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!!!

If you are going to go vote a Republican in office then you weren't a Democrat in the first place.
Obama platform is little or no diffrent than HRC and if you go and vote for a Republican because your person didn't get the nomination well, you should just sit at home and not vote.

Frankie   June 9th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

Forget it John, I am not going to dissappoint the democratic party. As angry as I am for Clinton not making it, I would rather vote for Obama.

Rise LADY RISE   June 9th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

No TRASHING of Hillary.

SHE HAS SHOWN HER COMMITMENT AND DEVOTION TO HER COUNTRY AND ALL ITS VARIED PEOPLES.

So We will never again fail this GOOD woman.

The TRUE champion of the people.

Bernadine Platen   June 9th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

It is ridiculous for a real Hillary supporter to embrace McCain. If they can read and write, they know that McCain's position on all the issues is light years away from Hillary's. I think Republicans are planting these sort of statements hoping that the slightly less educated women who are her supporters will be influenced by this nonsense.

New Day   June 9th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

...and for the true Hillary supporters, we might not be able to win with out you but, you also cant win with out our 18 million votes. Lets not give McCain and the republican sheep posting on here as fake dems 8 more years of horror.

kim portland, oregon   June 9th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

if you love hillary SOOOO MUCH that you would vote against the well-being of you, your family, and your country, then why dont you respect her enough to back obama AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY like she and bill are?!?!

it's obviously not about hillary herself as the candidate with you b/c if you respected her enough to vote for her (or, apparently, die for some of you) why not respect her wishes?

my guess is that your (INCORRECT) belief that hillary was somehow ripped off of votes touched off some deep-rooted hurt in your past where YOU got ripped off. the reaction is so clearly emotional, and not at all rational. it's time to WAKE UP, get out of VICTIM mode, and vote DEMOCRAT.

no more neocons! mccain = bush!!!!!!!!!!

Madison   June 9th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Yawn. I'm tired of begging these "disappointed" backers. I just wish they'd stop posting their sound bites-it's the same old non-truths from the low information/high emotion voters.

TI from NJ   June 9th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

McCain in 08!
And if you attend his inauguration he will be raffling free four year tours to fight in Iraq for the first one hindred people! What a Prez!

darrell   June 9th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

C'mon now, can the media be so stupid as to not see that many of the disenfranchised Clinton supporters are actually just republican plants determined to divide the party? why doesn't CNN or anyone else report on that???? The posts by many of these 'angry that hillary lost democrats' are so transparent and full of typical conservative republican rhetoric..ignore these posts by the Limbaugh right!! Everything you hear on here is almost verbatim from his radio show..

Rose - Baltimore, MD   June 9th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

If Hillary supporters don't vote for Obama, it is ok because Obama is still going to be the president. Have you checked the polls lately. they are soaring for Obama. Please keep your angry vote.

Democrat 08   June 9th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I was one of those that said if my canidate wasn't the nominee I would vote for McCain.....but then I started to think what I would get if the republicans were in the house another 4 years. For me, it just wasn't worth it and I hope that each person would step back for a moment and think about it honestly. Please compare the two policies see which would work for you. Trust me it's worth it!!

VOTE with your head and not your heart!!!

Xavier, St. Louis, MO   June 9th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

For those who would rather vote McCain; just look at America's poor economy, our enormous unemployment rate, foreclosures, high healthcare cost, $4 a gallon gas, this pointless war in Iraq and the list goes on and go. If you still want another four years of this madness, then vote for McCain. Just don't complain because you deserve what you get!

Also, if you don't vote, you are just as guilty as if you were voting for McCain. Not voting is basically saying you're happy with the way things are!

No McCain   June 9th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

1) True democrats will vote for the Democratic Party even if if their nominee was not elected.

2) Those that vote just to get even with others don't deserve to be part of our journey anyhow

Pamela   June 9th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

I echo Bridgette's sentiments. I have never thought a woman should be President , BTW I am a woman. I believe that women are strong, intelligent and very capable; however ,like it or not, we are emotional creatures. Hillary lost my support when she lost a primary round and started crying on camera. Then she got upset over an Obama ad and started yelling and finger waving. I would like the Presidenet to always maintain their poise and I am sorry Hillary just did not do that for me.

As for her supporters, I have been reading these blogs for weeks and the irrational thinking that is being displayed, further proves my point. It reminds me of childish playground antics-I lost, so I am taking by ball and going home. This is not an attempt to demoralize or insult anyone, it is simply an observation.

As for Obama supporters, why keep making negative comments or insults. Your guy won, so leave these people alone to heal and regroup. If they don't vote for Obama, so what. He has ran a very strategic campaign and I am sure that he has factored in the percentage of Hillary supporters who will refuse to vote for him.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   June 9th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I'm going to say this like a lot of democrats have said, if GWB had never been voted in we wouldn't have been in the mess we're in today so therefore I will vote for McCain to continue this mess since Hillary is not the nominee. I don't care if I lose my house, my job, pay $5.00/gallon for gas or go without food, I'm voting for John McCain.

People are making a great point that Clinton will have a prominent place in an Obama administration. Do you think that will be the case with McCain? I think not! So to those Hillary supporters that are saying no to Obama. I ask what do you want your candidate to do during those 4 maybe 8 years?

Do you realize we have an opportunity to have 16 years of Democrat in the Oval office????? Imagine the possibilities or stay angry and hurt Obama, DNC, America, the world and CLINTON.

Risen   June 9th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Hillary Clinton SO stole the show from the lying, cheating Obama.

She will rise and rise and rise from the ashes of this fire of crazed Obama devotion that is burning this country.

I LOVE HER MORE TODAY than yesterday and thus it will be for the rest of my life

A: I think he'd make one hell of a president.

Give me a break   June 9th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

It's amazing to me that Hillary Supporters would support a man who laughed when a supporter called Hillary th B word and who also has called his own wife a C**T. Interesting to me that you want to support a sexist like McCain who's policies are completely opposite of Hillary's out of spite. He didn't even vote for the equal pay legislation; he's agains a woman's right to choose. Please someone with intelligence explain this to me.

r sisk, nevada   June 9th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

I anyone as sick of these continuing polls as I am? The coming election will not even be close! People are broke, concerned of losing their homes, livelihoods, jobs. You think people are going to vote for Mc Cain. Hardly. Obama is a ray of hope, a cure for this cancer that has occupied the White House for the last 8 years.

Hillary supporters will back Obama. Quit materializing scare tactic stories!!! What are you, the GOP???

"I just don't get it. It doesn't make sense. How does one go from Hillary to McCain. They are complete opposites!?
For those that voted for Hillary but will now defect to McCain, out of curiousity, please inform me in detail why you voted for Hillary in the first place."

That's easy! Its called democracy! We have a right to vote for whoever we want to vote for!! It has always been Clinton, then McCain for us. Obama has never been a choice. The white house is not an internship. We would rather this country be lead by someone with experience and John McCain is that person. We Clinton supporters will be voting country, and not political party this fall. John McCain will be our next president.

51% (The Majority) of the Democrats SupportObama!   June 9th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

I am a 25 year old woman and I am so disgusted by some of these women! You talk about sexism and I find nothing more loathsome then to say "because I'm a girl, I lost and no one likes me, whine, whine, whine!" Its nauseating. How about she lost because she ran a bad campaign. People always talk about her 18 million... well what about his 18 million supporters too? Between the caucuses and primaries there are more of us, hence the reason he won. Before the race began she had high negatives and they didn't go down until the end. But all this entitlement... he should've waited stuff is really old. Women are supposed to support each other and you did, but in the end it didn't pan out, what's so wrong with that? What was she robbed of? There were both racists AND sexist comments made toward both of them, but let's be honest people think she's a liar and a panderer. 58% of people polled said she's untrustworthy! So vote for McCain and have the possibility of a conversative supreme court, make sure that I can't get health care for myself and my future husband and children, that we'll be paying $5 a gallon for gas and may send my friends, brothers, off to an unwinable war. Principles, right? This is what's wrong with Americans. So short-sighted and selfish. What about the future generations that will have to pay this debt BACK? So what screw us? Thanks parents and grandparents for all your love and support, especially the mothers, sisters, and grandmothers who will vote their emotions rather than common sense. I just want you to know that everyone who comes back in a coffin after Jan. 20,2009 if McCain is elected, is your doing.

Carol B., Virginia   June 9th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Although Hillary exited the race gracefully, how big of a gaffe did she make when she was extolling the experience and wisdom of she and McCain( in one of her speeches) against the so -called inexperience of Obama? Will that make a difference as future choices are made? Just curious.

Michele   June 9th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

As i read a lot of these posts I know there are some weirded out Hillary supporters, but I see how some of these are republican spammers trying to create chaos.
Just like Obama we should keep our cool in these times and rise above all this crazy mess and see who comes out on top.
We have already climed one mountain, and there;s just one more.
Solidarity is all we need to get the big prize.
Don't let the republicans and some of those hillary people keep us from our prize. Which is a President Obama who will turn things around for us

Did you hear me, professional Obama Blogger for continued hatred, DAVID G.?

Stop saying we must vote for Obama to keep poor Hillary from taking the blame. Are you serious? We won't LET that crap pllay EVER again.

DAVID G. :

Stop saying our vote against Obama will hurt Hillary. The Clintons get blamed for everything anyway, so WHO cares? And Millions will now vote for Hillary for the rest of our lives and the rest of HER career.

So take your divisive hatred and fear mongering elsewhere. I have read it on every blog for the past 4 days.

It will NOT hurt HRC if Obama fails. She will NOT be blamed for it... because MILLIONS will rally and say that we disagree.

Obama will fail because he chose to use hatred and race to sway things to his side early on.

And since we were NOT racist or haters... it sneaked up on us and we failed to support Hillary in time.

smokesignals   June 9th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

As a woman, I did not support Hillary simply because she made it soooo obvious that she was nothing but more of the same old politics. And she burned her bridges with me at the first debate.
My opinion is that it had absolutely nothing to do with sexism, it was simply the way she conducted her campaign that lost her votes...period.
For those of us who could see through her pandering and opportunistic ways it was an easy choice.
I heard noone express sexist comments towards her or her campaign.
And to the people who say they will absolutely not vote for Obama and will cross over to McCain, well, they are just idiots and have not paid attention to the real issues and platform of the Democratic Party.
They were never Democrats and will never be Democrats.

Wow! Sonia got more posts approved on this story than I have had in the months I have been here. :-D

Not sure what the point is anymore to come on and say that you will or wont vote for someone. Just vote and be done with it. The candidates of the 2 main parties are McCain and Obama. Whether you dont like Obama's policies, you think he is inexperienced, you are a republican in disguise, you are a biggot, or you are just voting against him out of spite is irrelevant. Vote for whom u like but remember that first and foremost you are an american.

Merk   June 9th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Completely laughable, I read all these and didnt see one person answer with any reasoning why if they were a Hillary supporter they would choose McCain over Obama. I understand both the crazy Democrats view and the crazy Republicans view (both crazy and unrealistic) but I just don't see the reasoning for McCain over Obama if you were supporting Clinton.

Patty   June 9th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

The buzz is that “Obama rallied the support of affluent, well-educated voters, African-Americans and the younger generation.”

Judging by the majority of comments from Obama bloggers, if they’re “affluent,” they must have inherited their money, because they certainly didn’t make it through “ability,” and they definitely are not “well-educated.” Their comments consist of filthy “gutter” slogans. Their “opinions” are nothing more than re-hashed media headlines. They can’t finish a thought from beginning to end. They can’t write a full sentence. And they sure as heck can’t spell! Their “heroes” are Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. They are, quite frankly, a “joke.”

Just ONE thing, please - just ONE thing - learn how to spell "judgment," even if you don't have any yourself!

Please, everyone who wants to vote for McCain, go ahead. It is your right that was earned off the blood and sweat of the civil rights movement. No one is begging you for your vote. If Obama wins then he does and he doesn't that is okay too. I am very sick and tired of these idiots who can't face the truth that Clinton lost fair and square. She has even endorsed Sen. Obama. Go ahead already and vote for McCain and see how much more difficult your lives will be. But for crying out loud ,man up and stop acting like spoiled brats, your threats don't mean much any more.

Graham   June 9th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

it is an absurd case of sour grapes if anyone defects from clinton to mccain. i figure that these people must vote for a president based on their personality or some other basically irrelevant aspect because clinton and obama have a hell of a lot more in common with regard to policies than clinton and mccain ever have or ever will.

A vote for McCain by women who are democrats is an insult to everything Hillary Clinton has worked and campaigned for. You should be ashamed of yourselves for disregarding and abandoning her after how hard she fought for the nomination, and as expected now campaigning for Obama, which is exactly what he would have done for her had she won the nomination.

REAL American for Obama   June 9th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Hillary's protest voters are few and far between. They're all suffering from the same narcissism that cost their candidate a chance at the White House. They think they are entitled to whine, cry, threaten, and bully in order to get their way. They think they are more important to than they really are. They are so self-centered that they forget there are millions of other voters out there who DON"T share their sentiments.

The way Barack Obama won the democratic nomination should be proof that he WILL get those votes that he needs. He doesn't need ALL 18 million of HRC's voters. He has 18 million of his own and millions of other supporters will come onboard over the next few months.

Some HRC supporters were NEVER going to vote for him in the first place, and the rest are too stupid to make a sensible decision anyway, so they are all IRRELEVANT. Those that want to come over to the Obama's side will, and those who won't....WHO CARES????

Kimber Grace   June 9th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Obama threw his little white grandma "under the bus" during his wonderful speech on race(aka his "I've got to do something about Jeremiah Wright" speech)...that was the last straw for me. I would be terribly hurt if my own daughter did that to her white grandma-and that was my final, definitive "NO" to Obama.
And for the people trying to circulate the rumors about John McCain again, get over it, they are not true. McCain's first wife has campaigned for him and has spoken highly of him, and her children- who McCain legally adopted- have as well, with one of his sons actually working for Cindy McCain's company. McCain is honorable and has much integrity, and you are showing your ignorance and childishness with your ridiculous comments. AND, if you think Obama is going to miraculously deliver us from this Iraq mess, I only need say "NANCY PELOSI and crew" (who I voted for!!!!!) ...

SAY Yes McCain   June 9th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

sounds like a Hillary cult following. I expect in this time of very difficult times people are SERIOUS about voting on the issues.

Why did her supporters bother to vote for her if now they think McCain will do better? Was is BECAUSE she's a woman and it's some kind of feminist movement?

Hillary is not the political figure I thought she was if her supporters are going to make her look like a cult leader.

HonestLady, as an independent I will attempt to explain it to you. I came into this race liking McCain and Obama, and despising Hillary. As the race continued, Hillary proved to me that she was a determined candidate and a fierce opponent with a strong record of leadership. Obama made me realize that he is all hype, lacks experience, and has very poor judgment (Rev Wright). I will now be voting for the republican candidate that, like Hillary, has a strong record of leadership and bipartisanship.

Has anyone noticed that the vile Obama supporters still do not get it. Now that they no longer feel a need to attack Hillary on her physical attributes, they are attacking Cindy McCain. I know that if Hillary supporters were to stoop as low and attack Michelle Obama's physical imperfections, either:
1. the post would never get on the MSM sites
2. there would be an outcry of racism

CNN put a stop immediately to the sexism and misogyny that you have fostered.

McCain does not have to reach out to me. . As Susan B. Anthony said "No self respecting woman should wish or work for success of a party that ignores her" This was 1872 and it is so true today. It took until l920 for woman right to vote the 19th Admendment. I heard stories from my grandmother on how she march for women right to vote. I think she would turn over in her grave knowing what Hillary had to endured, but she would also be proud for everytime Hillary got knocked down she got back up.

Kathy in Oregon;

"That said, I'm voting for McCain, who unlike Obama, is a man with experience AND humility."

Of course McCain has more experience he's 70 freakin years old. That doesn't mean he's more qualified. That would be like electing Strom Thurmon, if he were alive, because he had 80 years of political EXPERIENCE.

Also, thinking McCain has even an ounce of HUMILTY shows how uneducated you really are about McCain.

To switch from HRC to McCain is the ultimate hypocrisy and you all deserve to be republicans.

MJ   June 9th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

If you voted for Hillary for experience, then why didn't you vote for the person with more experience in the first place? Clinton's policies are more in line with Obama than McCain. There's some underlying factors to the anti-Obama vote here.

-MJ

d   June 9th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

it is amazing how all of these women democrats are suddenly for McCain, who opposes womens right issues..a vote for McCain is another step to reversal of Roe vs. Wade. Once the smoke clears, and every one calms down, I think that the so called disenfranchised women will come to their sense and vote Obama. It also throws everything that Hillary Clinton has worked and campaigned for in the garbage.

jim, kansas city   June 9th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

I really love it, when I see Obama supporters and for that matter other supporters as wekk so enthusiastic that EVERYTHING is going to change.
I am going to brake this down to you, politics is a dirty game. Personally I do not agree with J.Wright at all, but he was right about one thing, politicians will say whatever they need to say to get elected.
As far as CHANGING EVERYTHING, newsflash, there has always been rich and poor in this world, you can find it on old testament as well when it talks about Abraham among his wealth he had X number of servants, which means they had people with low socioeconomic status back than too, I know its SUPRISE to a lot of folks.
Which means that OBAMA, CLINTON and McCAIN they have not discovered nothing new here, nor they can change anything about it. It is just the way of life, I know it is not fair, but thats the way it is. Life is not fair. Only person that can do something about it is YOU, not OBAMA, CLINTON OR McCAIN. You will be disapointed if you think that any politician is going to change anything about the way you live.

Bill - Charlotte   June 9th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Since Hillary ran the last six weeks of her campaign as a "gun-toting, whiskey drinking, champion of the white blue collar workers,' I can see how her followers would be taken in by McCain. After all, they came to believe that Hillary was a right wing (appearing on Fox and in untra-conservative journals) "gun-toting, whiskey drinking, champion of the white blue collar workers."

James   June 9th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Like night and day theres no getting around that, vote on the issues, not the person or the party, who is going to best fix the issues, certainly not stubborn people thats for sure, wake up. Just common sense here.

Belle   June 9th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Obama supporters are correct when they say they don't understand why we Hillary supporters will vote for McCain instead of Obama. Perhaps if you would open your mind and let in some fresh air instead of following blindly down the path of destruction you would be able to understand. First you say I am bitter, uneducated, stupid, etc. Now, you want my vote! If I have less education (I have a post-graduate degree) than some of you who post these vile comments, that education was certainly of a higher quality. I don't have any financial problems at this point in my life but I have certainly had to work for a living and I don't believe I am bitter. I am not voting for McCain out of spite; I simply believe he will be a better President. Party loyality is of little concern to me-the Democratic Party has shown that it will villify anyone who tries to compete with its chosen nominee. It is my responsibility to vote for the person I believe will be the better President. Still, I cannot believe the venom that is posted in these comments. Anyone who does not think twice about a candidate who inspires such hatred and animosity is working on auto pilot instead of logical thought processes. You all need to ask yourselves why?

mkn   June 9th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Anybody who says they are voting for McCain instead of Hillary is probably not being honest. Most likely they were never voting for any Democrat in the first place or they don't really believe in Hillary. If they were a true supporter of hers they would never insult her and her hard work by voting for McCain.
Nobody in their right mind would choose a Republican if they were once a supporter of Hillary's.

concerned   June 9th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Why do all of you Obama supporters think we need to go for him just because our gal didn't make it.
I don't care for him, he is inexperienced and especially a lot of concern about his hateful wife.

Sure I am upset about the media and the DNC party for what they did to her and they are still cutting her down stating it will be her fault if he doesn't get elected. Come on – it's up to him to the make the case.

I will be voting for McCain and one better yet – I will be changing from Democrat to Independent.

You Obama followers are as nasty as ever. You haven't changed. Too bad most politicians and news media are afraid of you and what you all are capable of. What has happened to democracy in this country

McCain will take away some of your rights. He has vowed to place Judges that will overturn Roe vs. Wade. Obama believes in a woman's right to choose. Hypothetical:

If Hillary Clinton herself went to your home, sat down at the kitchen table with you and told you to back Obama......would you?

I'll bet you would.

So why wouldn't you when she asks you in her speeches?

Does it make a difference if she is at your home or coming from the internet?

To all Hillary Supporters who are bitterly claiming to vote against Obama and vote for McCain (Who is the opposite of what Hillary stands for) Here is a direct quote from John McCain 1998

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."

What do you see in John McCain, if not policies... what?

CLINTON'S SUPORTER,

DON'T THREATEN DEMOCRATIC PARTY THAT YOU WILL VOTE FOR MCCAIN.... GO AHEAD IF YOU WANT....... THAT WILL ONLY SHOW HOW NERROW MINDED YOU ARE AND THAT YOU HAVE NEVER TRULY SUPORTED HILLARY IN A FIRST PLACE.

Paul   June 9th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Voters that want Hillary Clinton in a strong leadership position know that voting for Obama is the only option. Anyone who says otherwise is either a Republican troll posing as a Democrat, or Ferraro Democrat.

Jim   June 9th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

It's interesting that some of the Hillary supporters backed her every word, except the one encouraging them to support Obama.
You're not teaching anything to DNC by voting McCain. You're only proving your immature fanaticism. Obama is no sacred diety, but then he's not a warmonger who knows nothing about economics either.

Holly   June 9th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

It is interesting to see all of the negative opinions of Clinton backers online and how they will switch to McCain.

History will not look well on Senator Clinton and it will be because of the strange reactions of her base.

If you vote for McCain it will reflect poorly on her and her base and it will be seen as her whom split the party in two.

Think about this before you sit down and vote.

If you believe in her as strongly as you say you do. Vote for Obama, and vote for her legacy.

I don't think she wants to take credit for another 4 years of McSame.

If you love Hillary so much then why didn't you support her financially. Stop whining and help her where she needs you most. You can't help her with the primary, its over. You can't make Obama choose her as VP but you can help get her out of debt. If not what good are you.

For those hillary supporters who now say they will vote for McCain,

What do you say to your children when they act childish? Look in the mirror and say the same thing to yourself. This election should be about issues, not people and Hillary and McCain are not even close.
Hillary should be glad to get rid of supporters who can't see the difference........and I wonder is this more about race than you want to admit. I was a supporter too, but now I will vote like an adult, against 4 more years of bush policies.

Please explain why voting for experience in doing what Hillary has fought against her entire life is better than a slightly less experienced person who says he will fight for what Hillary wants.

(a extreme example) Who would you rather have in office: a 40 year dictator committing a genocide, or a 15 year old kid who wants exactly what you want?

I guess this means you are for continued U.S. losses in a protracted Iraqi war

A vote for McCain is a vote for WW III. If you have a death wish for yourself, your children and civilization, then vote for McSame. If you want to see this nation and the world survive and prosper then vote for Obama. This country will not survive another 4 years under repug rule.

cynthia   June 9th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

it is reverse racism,

What other choices have African Americans have been voting for since they have been able to vote. It has always been the white nominee, and they have have been loyal democrats and forgiving They have finally have a viable African American candidate that inspires them, and what do they get back unnecessary hatred of their candidate.
Hillary lost her own campaign. That wasn't Obama's fault, and these women who claim they won't vote for him is ridiculous.
A racial group that has been loyal to the democratic party and now look at what they get back for it ,because their white woman did not get selected.
I hope you get back ten fold of what you are asking for when you make the rest of the country suffer right along with that vote that you cast for Mccain.

Actually, Phyllis from Texas... Hillary has a butt load of experience compared to Mr. Obama.

Don't get me wrong, Obama has experience...as a community organizer... Oh, and don't forget, he has experience voting present on the tough issues.

Obama also has experience surrounding himself with anti-American radicals.

I waiting for all you Obama supporters to just start listening to him... Have you ever questioned how he is going to pay for all these govt programs... Expanding funding of the U.N., universal health care (his plan is not universal, but it will cost a lot), paying for all you supporters college education...

The only way Obama can pay for all his programs is to increase taxes. That's a great way to get a struggling economy going???? Right...

An Obama supporter

I'm so done with this election, to me Hillary was the one and only. My vote is not going to Obama or McCain.

Anonymous   June 9th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I hope and I pray that Obama does not get president. It has nothing to do with his race..but his beliefs. He would not make a good commander and chief, and the thought of what he would do to our military – just scares me. We don't need a quick pull out of Iraq, what we need is the job done and done well. Then our men and women can come home. I would have loved to see Mccain or even Clinton get it. Since, Clinton is out – It's time for Mccain, he has military expierence and I believe would really help put a change in our nation. Just because he is GOP doesn't mean it would be another 4 years of the Bush adm. Times are changing, but to me, Obama is not the man for president – I don't think he really supports America and could help her reach her full potential.

Rebecca   June 9th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

I have a question for you crazed, angry Clinton supporters......

WHY are you punishing Obama for deciding to run for President against your candidate? I continue to hear "we'll vote against Obama & the DNC!" He had every bit of a right to run as she did...have you forgotten that??!! He won the election, and couldn't be farther from the villian you are portraying....what is WRONG with you?! He ran a remarkable, honest, respectable campaign. He faced a candidate that was nearly inevitable in the beginning, and gained more support than she. He is NOT the enemy here, folks!!!!!!

Get your heads together, for goodness sakes!!!! You will all have blood on your hands if you cast you vote for McCain in the fall, and be be completely contradicting yourselves in the worst way....and I KNOW YOU KNOW THIS!!!!!!

Scott, Lexington KY   June 9th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

SONIA4HILLARY & others like her........

Everything you're saying right now just comes off as sour grapes spewing, since it's just on the heels of Hillary's concession speech.

To all Democrats: WHY ARE WE FIGHTING?

To all Hillary militants: Obama got over 17 millions votes TOO. Stop acting like he didn't.

Good grief people, get a grip. Listen to all the previous posts that tell you to ask yourself simple questions about policy. If you feel that Hillary was in line with your beliefs, then you should vote Obama. If you were voting for her more because you wanted a woman in the WH, then you need to re-evaluate what you believe in. That choice is gone for just the moment. You have to get over your emotions and get back to clear thinking. McCain or Obama - what policies do you buy? Hillary has made it clear what's important to Democrats.

Stop your "I am woman, hear me roar crap." It's old and pathetic. Many of us champion a woman in power. Hillary would be 100x better than another republican. Too bad John didn't win it in 2000 – that was HIS turn. But stop the sour grapes.

All those people who are saying that they are Democrats but wont vote for a democratic nominee and are constantly blogging on here aren't Democrats but republicans who are trying to sow seeds of discord within the Democratic party. They are trying to turn Hillary's supporters against Obama. Just read their blogs carefully and you would realize that no true Democrat regardless of the nominee will vote for a Republican... because this elections isn't about a nominee; it’s about our values and ideology... it’s about our life and how we want it to be. Obama will need SOME of Clinton's supporters in general election, but, not ALL!

The Clinton DEMAGOGUE have done a great job to stir up a group of Ferraro-like angry and bitter supporters. If they keep their minds closed, there is no need to waste time on them!

There will always be groups like bitter Ferraro and fanatical evangelicals. They will never be happy unless it is their own way and only if they can figure out what they are really angry and bitter about their own lives! McCain can have party with those kind of people to form a core support!

The Clintons have been the MOST POLORIZING political figures in recent history. They cannot be trusted.

No VP to the Clintons! We do not need to have 3-Cheney-like Clintons in Obama administrations. Clinton baggage will drive out voters to vote against the Clintons if they are on any ticket!

I really don't undertand the Hilary supporters saying that they are voting for McCain because he has experience. George Bush has more experience as president of the US than anyone else (8 years). Since you're only looking for expereince, no matter the positions on issues, let's see if we can get a wavier and have him run for a tird term. Bill Clinton was the same age as Obama when he ran and he was the governor of Arkansas. That meant he had ZERO years of experience in foreign policy. Obama has much more experience than Bill did at this point.

I have to tell you Hillary's speech Saturday was pretty clear that she DOES support Obama for President. I was impressed and have always been very vocal against what I considered her unnecessarily bitter, harsh and just down right dirty politics coming from her and her campaign.

If I was impressed by what she said, ANYONE could be impressed by what she said. I will also say that if I were still a Republican voter, which I used to be, I would be very unhappy about her speach for unity and endorsement of Obama.

To Hillary's supporters, please be careful who you pay attention to now on these blogs. I don't imagine too many real Obama bloggers would be spreading hate messages after Saturday's rousing support by Hillary. We need time to see how she will actually ACT on the camaign trail when she gets out there, but it really is time for a truce of sorts here on the hate messages.

We need to take all this bravado in these postings with a grain of salt.

Clearly some Hillary supports are disappointed and will vote for McCain but they are not the majority. It's just illogical and most thinking people won't buy that hype any more than they should buy the embellishments of those posting in date chat rooms.

Obama spanked Hillary like the spoiled child she is who needs a "time out".

18 million voters for Hillary were not enough to defeat the better canidate, OBAMA, Yes, he had "MORE' than 18 million votes.

In American politics the most delegates win. Lets me see.....Oh Yea! that was OBAMA.

After watching her campaign how can anyone say that she would be a good leader for America?

1. Wrong-on Iraq.
2. Wrong-on Iran. "I will bomb them into oblivian"
3. Wrong-on campaign spending. "30 million in debt.
4. Wrong -on campaign strategy.
5.Hillary Clinton just plain wrong for America.

Happily Independent   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Once your first choice is not there, then one must ask oneself whose views are similar to my first choice? Obama. Which candidates views are closer to one of our worst presidents, George W. Bush? McCain. Therefore, choosing the lesser of two evils means a vote for Democrats and Obama

Peter Damoah-Afari   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Obama's victory has numerous implications, and things are going to change right from America to all corners of the world. In America, it is now clear and known by most people that Republicans actually do not have anything good to offer, but have enjoyed so many years of dirty politics and tricks.

If Obama is not able to win in the general elections, we do not have to blame him. Because McCain can only win if and only if (iff) people decide to vote by color, and not by considering things such as intelligence and the content of the message preached.

Obama has changed the way politics is going to be played in America forever. Even if he is not able to win because he is black, his influence will still remain in American politics and generations to come will start talking about common sense and to address real issues instead of following the same old dirty politics of the Republican party that have left many people poor in America.

How on earth can a country like America continue to have many of their citizens deprived of simple health care? This, in fact, is very shameful, and Republicans are to be blamed for this situation as they have run the white house more than the Democrats in the History of America. This should be a challenge to the people of America to throw the Repulican party out of the white house, and to give Obama, a man with clear vision, the chance to steer the affairs of America in the coming years.

God bless Obama!
God bless the Democratic Party!
God bless America!

I feel its' disloyal to all women for us to vote for obama. Hillary was the strongest most qualified canidate. It was our chance to bring our nation to balance in all issues. Women have been balancing ,organizing, and leading for over 200 years. It would have been of greater HISTORIC significance for her to have been elected. She will go into the history books as the QUALIFIED FEMALE not elected because SHE was a FEMALE. She will also be taking the blame for however the election turns out. I will exercise my vote as I see fit. This is NOT Democrats vs. Republicans – its now a black vs a White man. It's that simple. We will make history alright. Our country will become a 3rd world country in November.

Debbie,NJ   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

If NO OBAMA now for whatever reason, her supporters stay home, write her in, or vote for McCain, then NO HILLARY in 2012. We will see to it.

indy dem   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Her loudest supporters only get one vote each. High volume does not equal a majority. Real democrats know what's at stake here.

Becky   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Sonia:

Please knock it off. You're going to give yourself an ulcer with all that hatred brewing inside of you!

Enough with the blame game, already...Hillary lost beacuse she and her staff made bad decisions....period. Stop trying to point the finger elsewhere. IT'S OVER, and we have a superior leader that even she supports!

So, I suppose you support our kids dying in Iraq for potentially another one hundred years? You gonna send your kids over there? And you support ignoring global warming and never becoming TRULY energy independent? And you are okay with poverty consuming this country...gas prices so high that no one can drive to work, nor buy food? You support women's rights being TRAMPLED/reversed for possibly another eight years?

One more question for you... if you plan to vote this way , HOW DO YOU/WILL YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?!

You are NOT a Democrat, ma'am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lorenzo Clemons   June 9th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Hey people did you ever thing this whole Hillary for McCain thing through? These people who are going to vote for McCain were in McCain's camp all along. They only wanted Hillary to win, so that they can support McCain. I find it very interesting that no one finds it simply acceptable to say "white America" will not vote for Obama. This is true for a segment of the population, however many good clear thinking White Americans have already voted for Obama and will do so again. Just a reminder, the African-American community has voted for people like Hillary and other Democrats for years. We in Chicago saw a lot of white people defect to a third party to elect a McCain like candidate named Bernard Epton. In fact the slogan was: "Epton before it is to late." Well some fair minded people of all races made it possible to elect the first Black Mayor for the city of Chicago – Harold Washington. I might add that Chicago is still standing and is greater then ever and may host the 2016 Olympics. America does not have to buy into "Fear the Black Man". In fact the first Blacks to move into any neighborhood work overtime to make sure they do better then the neighbors because they know that they will be held to a higher standard. Obama knows he will be held to a higher standard, so I am sure this will probably be one of the greatest Presidential Sessions ever. Fear what will happen if we don't have Obama in the "People's House". God Bless America and God Bless the Obama Family!

Nia   June 9th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

Hillary could end it with a statment along the lines of:
"Belive in Obama the way that you've belived in me. We both want to see the best for this country and our families. To go against that buy voteing for policys oposite of our own goes against everything i've fought for" something to that extent...
The sad part about all of this is Hillary is spart enough to know that that's what she would need to have said Saturday and going forward. But in thinking of hereself and the possiblity of 2012, or a possible Obama gaffe, she won't.
I think her supporters really need to get over it already and stop thinking of only themselves like little children. What is the idiotic thought process to vote for someone oppostite of the core values you belive in out of spite?!
Also pushing the VP slot on Obama is not a good thing or a dream ticket. Given the Clinton high negatives and political baggage it would be a nightmare ticket.

If you are a democrat than vote for a democrat. Why vote for a 3rd term Bush just because Hillary Clinton didn't win the nomination. Personally, there were two great democrats running and it has been narrowed down to one. McCain is the worst choice for a democrat to possibly make. Don't let hate motivate your vote!

rumpusgoopus   June 9th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Steve   June 9th, 2008 3:03 pm ET

It seems very odd to me that people like Sonia4Hillary are so short sighted. Hillary lost. Sad but true. When she lost, she told everyone to vote for Obama. Why? Because Hillary knows that with a Democrat in the White House, she can continue to work to accomplish the things she wants to get done with much more power and influence. With McCain in the White House, she will basically be ignored.

I understand you are angry that Hillary lost, but don't throw the entire Democratic Party out with the trash just because she isn't going to be President. By getting Obama into office, you'll give HIllary the chance to work as part of his team to get good things done. She shouldn't accept VP, because it's largly a ceremonial office. She SHOULD be on his Cabinet (and he most likely will put her there, where she can do the most good).

PLEASE don't throw Hillary's chance to continue to do good work away just because you're a petulant idiot! Just throw your tantrum, get it over with, and use your head for a change.

As disappointed as I am having been a Hillary supported even before Day 1, voting for McCain is just not the right answer. We cannot afford four more years of war, artifical tax cuts, not being able to afford to take care of our own because of how much money we are spending elsewhere and the overwhelming deficit Bush is leaving us with. Most important of all, we cannot afford any more stacking of the Supreme Court......Hillary brought tears to my eyes on Saturday as she spoke, it make take me some time to be 100% behind Obama, but vote for him I will...it's in the best interest of all of us....

We are currently running at a 1000 times the normal extinction rate.

Obama's and the democrat's global warming goals are a 1000 time loftier then McCains. The planet can not afford a republican in office anymore!

Anton   June 9th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

To all those nay-sayers to McCain...I would trust McCain rather than somebody who hasn't shown the U.S what he can do. Remember the last time the U.S. voted liberal, we got more involved in Viet Nam...and remember it was a Democrat who recently suggested that the Draft be reinstated, so don't be surprised that a draft will be reinstated, should Obama win.

He stands for everything they are against the ones posting there hate mail on here well take it like this either they are racist and would not vote for a black man and we knew there would be some or they are republican snakes trying to keep us separated.

Hillary and her campaign made mistakes! that is why she is not the nominee! no ones else to blame but herself.

I am an Obama supporter but have just max out my donation to Hillary I am a American first! Democrat second! All should try to see the big picture we have alot of young people and alot of uneducated people involved this year and it is hard to try and bring these guys up to speed on the big picture of politics . I have been working in the cycle for over 45 years yes I remember Dr kings speech and I remember the civil right movement I also remember standing on the tracks as bobby Kennedy 's body came in by train for those of us who were there he too was a man with a vision and hope for this country and I fully believe Obama embodies that vision and is a product of that great work. It is so sad to see these Hillary supporters like Brian from TN who apparently knows nothing of the process and continues to post trash on here everyday.

Caryn, WDC   June 9th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

I understand that a lot of Clinton supporters are upset about Hillary's loss. Voting for McCain will only undermine all of her hard work. Besides things will look very different in 2012, there's no way to predict the political climate or ensure that she could win then either.

Voting for McCain isn't punishing Barack Obama or helping Hillary Clinton. These two politicians are millionaires and they'll be fine no matter what happens.

Please think about the country. I CAN NOT afford 4 more years of Republican leadership. I didn't do anything to you...please don't use your vote to harm my future.

Frank   June 9th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

Reverse racism in this country must be destroyed, at any cost!!! I hope women, black and white, who expect men to help them with their cause will also have to recognize this fact. No sexism, no racism, and certainly no reverse racism!!!!!

Matthew   June 9th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

This isn't about spite. For many Clinton supporters, it's about experience. We may not agree on everything McCain says or does, but we know we can trust him to lead our country during some very difficult times. He has the experience to fall back on. Obama claims repeatedly that he has better judgment, but without long term experience, how can you claim to have demonstrated judgment? Obama is too young and too inexperienced to hold the most powerful office in the world at a time of war and economic crisis.

Mark   June 9th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

She's been campaigning for McCain since February anyways, so it's no big surprise that many of her supporters would back McCain. It makes me nervous too, but I hope many of her supporters let go of their personal
feelings and understand that McCain will send their children and grandchildren off to die in Iran.

The Republicans have loved what Hillary has been doing for the last 4 months, and I hope now for the next 4 months she can make them hate her again and work for the party that supported her for so many years, and not the Republicans who so gleefully destroyed her and her husband in the 90's.

I hope all you people who will vote for John McCain just to spite Barack Obama are prepared for this country to bomb the crap out of Iran. I hope you're ready for women's rights to be set back a century (you know, back to when McCain was a boy). I hope you're ready to stay in Iraq until at least 2016, if not later. I hope you're ready to funnel what will eventually be $2.5 billion PER DAY for the GOP's wars abroad. And I hope you're rich, because that's the only way you're going to be able to get healthcare or affordable housing.

Anyone who says they wanted Clinton but would vote McCain over Obama never cared about Hillary Clinton's issues. And in that case, the only logical conclusion is that they are racists. If Obama is too inexperience for the job, then why Republicans didn’t put Dick Cheney on the nomination ballot? He would have been perfect fit according to you guys. He has about 7 ½ year of experience as no. 2 position of the country. H could perfectly run the for another 100+ years and add another trillion dollars of deficit to our economy.

Obama might not have prior the experience to run a country but he has courages, positive ideas and attitudes to give us a fresh start. As he mention in his speech “I am not going to say what you want to hear, I am going to say what you need to hear. Together we can build a strong country.”

Its just comical how people will ignore their beliefs in favor of a hissy fit. John McCain is in direct conflict with everything Hillary Clinton stood for, and fought for, a vote for McCain isnt just a vote againt Obama, its a vote AGAINST Hillary Clinton as well. What kind of person ignores the issues? Your everything whats wrong with this country, your the reason for the last 8 years! Obama and Hilllary were almsot idenical on every issue, you supported Hillary ideals, why stomp all over Hillary Clinton and the Party she repersents? Vote for the person you think is right for the job. If you vote for spite, you will reap the seeds you sow. Go ahead, vote for McCain.

Will in Richmond, VA   June 9th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

A vote for McCain is against the interests of any Democrat, and any American. I still haven't seen any evidence of reason behind most so called McCain democrats saying they won't vote for Obama. Obama believes and will enforce everything that he said he would and most everything that Hillary said she wanted, while McCain is just another Republican. And yet, they're saying they'll vote for McCain?

Nonsense.

Cynthia - Arkansas   June 9th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

For anyone who supported Hillary to say they would vote for McSame is nuts. If you supported Hillary, then you can only honor her by continuing her fight for a better country. I think there are a bunch of Republicans out there, saying they are Hillary supporters just to stir up discontent like they always do.

MelEll   June 9th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

To the women who supported Hillary Clinton who value their reproductive rights, remember that a vote for John McCain will be a vote for a more conservative Supreme Court, and a possible repeal of Roe v. Wade.

To the people who supported Hillary Clinton who want our troops to come home in a smart and responsible way, a vote for McCain will do the opposite – keep our troops in harms way.

Look at the issues and you'll see that on many of the issues, Clinton and Obama are very, very similar. If the personality of Obama bothers you, get beyond that and listen to his message. If the color of his skin bothers you, close your eyes and hear him speak. He has the answers.

It's time for a change, not another 3rd term of Bush.

I don't understand this statement "If no Clinton, then McCain!" I don't care who you vote for just for something meaningful. This is childish. What are you basing your vote on? What a waste of a vote. Vote on substance and the issues.

anyone that really want' Clinton to be President for a legitimate reason won't vote for McCain.

If they were only voting for her because she's a woman or because Barrack is black then its a different story. It would be interesting if Clinton supporters that aren't voting for Obama would exlain which it is.

Get over it! Despite the Clinton campaign's constant harping, they did not win the popular vote. They also didn't win the delgate count. Nothing was stolen. Hillary chose not to strongly compete in Iowa and the caucus states unti it was too late.

Those of you who threaten to vote for McCain out of spite dishonor her great effort. Do you really want to send more of your kids and grandkids to Iraq? Do you really think an 18.5 cent "gas tax holiday" is going to solve our fuel problems? Do you really want as many as three Supreme Court Justices to be so right wing that individual rights will be further erorded? Do you want "back alley" life threatening abortions? The list goes on and on.

Linda 31 you hit it. Also, I take Senator Clinton at her word that we must have a Democratic President. Why this minority of disaffected Clinton supporters wants to trash everything she fought for is beyond me, but, hey, they have to examine their consciences, not me. Seriously, think long and hard about what you are doing.

bridgette   June 9th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Obama was not selected he was elected. Hilary was trying to use the SuperDelegates as well. I think that this will be my last response on this story. When you do vote for McCain, don't complain when things stay the exact same or gets worse. Obama did not steal this election. I know you don't want to believe that, but, he didn't. But we do know who stole the first election and that would be George Bush. So you are telling me you are against Obama who won playing by the rules put in front of him, but, you would vote for the party that stole the election in 2000. This is why women can't be President, maybe we are too emotional and shouldn't have that kind of power. Because most of you are sounding really emotinal and irrational. The person that has the closet policy too the person you voted for you won't vote for him, but, you will vote for person that believes in the exact opposite that you believe in. How silly. Please ladies do me a favor and grow up.

These Clinton supportors are not basing their vote on the ISSUES!!! McCain will take my health insurance from my job away leaving me holding the bill with no guarantee the insurance companies will lower the cost. With Obama in office, he can ask Clinton for help with the health care issue. She has the best solution to that problem and other things as well.

If I can't have a large helping of Hillary, can I get the Obama meal with a side of Hillary?? Yes We Can!!!

Why try 08   June 9th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

There is no need to come and try to convince Hillary supporters to vote for Obama. The ones crossing over are disgruntle females who dislike Obama because he did not wait his turn and the woman lost out. They will never admit that Obama for all his inexperience ran a better campaign, raise more money and saw the importance of small states while Hillary strategy initially was to run off her husband's presidency. See that's why most women didn't get on board until Hillary started running on her own ability that empowerd her and made her the champion of women and small town america.

So let those who will vote for McCain vote. But after a little time there will be some who will admit the greatest disservice to Hillary will be to act like she was a weak woman who was victimized.

Because a victimized woman will never win over men to run a country because she seem weak and needs Bill's help. But a fighter who will do what she has to, now she got the respect of many men in this race.

racism   June 9th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Let us call it what it really is. If they go to Mccain because they are hurt over Hillary's loss and He has no sound policies. IT IS RACISM AND LET THEM SAY THAT HONESTLY. What a shame !!! If they were really true democrats, they would fight with Obama – they are plain racist.

Hillary supporters who spout that they would vote for McCain are not listening to their candidate who they said they would follow. If you think that Barack stole this election from Hillary you are wrong. He won it. She lost it. Voting for McCain will guarantee that we stay in Iraq and fight longer. That the rich will get richer and that this economy (which he knows nothing about) will get worse.

Stay home and do not vote!!!! Let Barack show you how it should be done. Don't spite the country that you live in because your candidate is not included in the race.

Misogynists Beware! The Women are Talking

Well, boys, you’ve really gone and done it this time. You managed to spew vile sexist comments at a shockingly unprecedented level. With the charge being led by the media, you injected your sexist hatred into every nook and cranny of this election process. Congratulations! Great work! The so-called journalists, the has beens of the DNC and the boys who held up signs that said “Iron My Shirt” and rudely interrupted political rallies have done it! We’re very grateful to you, we women are. You’ll never know how much.

We’re grateful because you have started women talking with each other in a way we haven’t talked in years. We are talking like we have haven’t talked since the suffrage movement and since we had leaders like Susan B. Anthony or Alice Paul. We are talking like we haven’t talked since the National Organization of Women was born. We are talking like we haven’t talked since our mothers told us we could be whatever we wanted to be, even President of the United States. By the way, the dialogue and the support has been tremendous. We appreciate your help in the matter.

So, thanks again, boys. This has been a long time coming. Women needed to start talking again. The talk is loud and will resonate for years to come. If you ever grow up into men, don’t come knocking at our doors. They won’t open. Your purpose in life has been served. You have managed to breathe new life into the Women’s Movement in this country.

Hillary can still take this all the way to the Democratic Convention if she needs to. No matter who emerges the winner, though,

the real loser in this Democratic Party debacle will be the boys who tried to run her off, and the girls who fell in line behind them

. The real women AND the real men who are now standing together, newly aligned against sexism, will be the winners

Ladies–we’ll be talking soon.

There is nothing wrong for voting for McCain. Not unless as a woman you don't care about Rowe v.s Wade! He will take away a woman's right to choose and anyone who has the stomach for him, they sure can go ahead and vote for him. I won't be one of them. I was a Hillary supporter and am now proudly supporting Barack. Also vote for McCain if you are happy with your current economic situation because he sure won't be changing it anytime soon. Gas prices, school tuitions, health care costs, cost of food will keep on rising on McCain's watch because he will be the third term Bush and his policies. So if you have been financially OK over the past few years, of course you should vote for McCain but if you are suffering, you would be much better off with a democrat in the WH. I would have loved it to be Hillary but since it won't be happening, I'd cast my vote for Obama. People are free to make up their minds. If they will get distracted by the crap they throw at Obama and not vote for him then so be it, they will be the ones who will be suffering under McCain. I'd say let it be.

John McCain: opposes a woman's right to control her own body.
John McCain: openly cheated on his first wife after a car accident left her disfigured, then dumped her for a rich heiress.
John McCain: told jokes mocking Chelsea Clinton as "ugly" and suggested her mother and Janet Reno were lesbian lovers.

But hey, if you think he's a better candidate than Obama, knock yourselves out.

Meanwhile, Obama's 50-state voter registration campaign will make any such protest vote irrelevant.

Voters have little doubt as to who is benefitting from the media coverage this year—Barack Obama.

Fifty-four percent (54%) say Obama has gotten the best coverage so far.

Twenty-two percent (22%) say McCain has received the most favorable coverage while 14% say that Hillary got the best treatment…

.

Among unaffiliated voters, 44% believe reporters will try to help Obama and 14% believe they will try to help McCain.

Robert, I read that also. Very sad, McCain was running around on her and seeing Cindy before finally getting a divorce. I believe it said that they married a month after the divorce?

Also Perot paid for her hospital bill after the accident. She did not want to worry McCain who was away at war. Perot now says that he is disgusted with McCain.

Tom   June 9th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

It is so funny to see people say that if McCain is in the White House oil will be $200 and gas $7. Guess what.....that will happen/not happen no matter who is in office.

O say no to gas holiday but will send out more checks. It is the same as McCain and his gas holiday. Both are spend our tax money. How about both of them come out and say her is a flat tax of X% (let it be 10 to 25%) and everyone keep the rest of the paycheck. That would be something that would be new. That would be change.

Rudy NYC   June 9th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

I think anyone or campaign that looks to the past for election trends to plan their strategy should take a look at the current Clinton campaign.

Thanks to G.W. Bush, the American voter seems to have awakened to something that most politicians and pundits cannot fully define just yet. Whatever it is, Barack Obama seems to have found it, or is at least riding the wave of it.

McCain seems to have caught the scent, and is on the hunt for it. This overture is still old politics, which some will embrace whole heartedly. My gut says most will weigh their options carefully and vote with their wallets, and not their hearts.

Ironically enough, I think Pres. Bush is the actual cutting edge for this new breed of American voters.

Cindy in California   June 9th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

People who claim to be democrats and are now supporting McCain were never really true democrats. The difference on the issues between the democrats and the republicans are polar opposites.

These people ("hillary supporters") never really wanted health care for all, help with the economy, lower gas prices, or help with the sub-prime housing mess. Those are all the things the democrats stand for and hillary stands for, and the republicans oppose. So how can they truly say they were hillary supporters if they are now saying they will vote for someone who is against what hillary stands for ?

Mike and others. Don't sell yourself short. YES HE CAN AND WILL! I know that is what you meant. Emotion remain high at the moment, and rightly so. The campaigns fought feverishly. I'm proud of both Obama and Hillary. Please do not lose sight that the Democratic party presented a variety of well deserving candidates this year. White, Black, Hispanic, male and female. I'm proud. To others who fail to see the importance of this campaign and focus on whether their candidate won or lose fail to see the unity this party has. Wake up people! This is family. ...Just don't tell Bill until November.

Also, I'm still confused as to how Obama was "preordained" to be the Democratic nominee, after he was largely an underdog prior to the start of the primaries.

Then again, we must all remember this is the internet – you pretty much get the dregs of society when you give anyone a broadband connection, a computer, and a keyboard and mouse.

If I thought Obama was QUALIFIED to be the next president, I would consider voting for him. But he honestly FAILS the "comander in chief test" as far as I'm concerned.

I voted for Hillary based on her experience, etc. - I TRUST her make progress on the issues. I do NOT have confidence in Obama. I feel like he will do more harm than good to the democratic party. ..he already has been a divider – NOT a uniter.

That said, I'm voting for McCain, who unlike Obama, is a man with experience AND humility. When selecting a LEADER for our country, those qualities are more important to me than where a candidate stands on abortion rights.

VA Dem   June 9th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

I'm a Democrat and you'll even hear me say the Huffington Post is a rag.

That being said, all of this nonsense – if we can just get the rest of the Obama supporters to follow Obama's campaign tactics – no smear & fear, just facts and moral high road, then maybe the Hillary supporters won't see everything as so bitter.

I just hope everyone knows that by voting for Obama, you're essentially propelling Hillary into a position of greater responsibility and power within the Administration soon – it would be a great day for America.

Rob - WA   June 9th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

Those Hillary supporters who would conspire to vote for McCain out of spite:

You show your true colors in doing so. Also, you throw your own candidate under the bus by eliminating all chances of her having an important role in a Democratic administration. You think she would be proud of that? Rather than someone else getting the seat at the front of the table – you are willing to burn the entire house down in an attempt prevent it? Thats some real single digit IQ thinking there.

I suggest some thought into what it means to feverently follow Hillarys message for the last 18 months – only to turn tail and throw it all away at a whim. Is that really where your priorities lie? Are you that much of a loyalist to not only throw your vote away but also to throw your favorite candidate away as well?

She has a chance to play an important role even if its not the VP. I would argue she could be better utilized in other roles and not the VP slot. If you vote McCain out of spite – you in essence throw that opportunity in the trash for her.

Think before you act, please.

And real Democrats who understand what's at stake, WILL vote for the Democratic nominee! It's laughable to watch McCain and the GOP try to kiss up to Hillary Clinton! She will be the first to tell them to take a hike! Just as she was the first to call on her supporters to back Barack Obama. If you believed in Hillary Clinton, then belive her now and do everything you can to elect Obama! Why is CNN pushing this story? I've seen numerous versions of the same story on this site alone.

Less than a week after Clinton suspense her campaign, the numbers are going down. 22% of 18 million is about 3 million. The Democratic family will work hard to show everyone that Obama is the best choice. The issue and policy that both he and Clinton were fighting for are still the same and that only is reason enough to vote for Obama.
