McCain: 'I will veto every single beer'

CNN

Watch McCain's comments Tuesday.

(CNN) - John McCain issued a promise Tuesday that may cause a bit of unrest with a broad swath of voters:

He'll veto every single beer?

In a slip of the tongue while railing against excessive earmarks at the National Small Business Summit in Washington, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee inadvertently pledged to veto the popular alcoholic beverage.

Watch McCain's slip of the tongue

"I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer - bill with earmarks," he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. "And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names."

It's not entirely surprising McCain has beer on the brain: his wife, Cindy, is heiress to her father's Arizona beer distribution company, Hensley and Company, one of the largest distributors in the U.S., for which she now serves as chairman.

Hey, I hear a beer a day helps you live longer - he might want to rethink vetoing it, LOL.

On the serious side, this guy is just plain scary to me. He talks down to us like we've been bad little children wanting more toys than he thinks we should have.

What gets me most of all is how he spouts off as if our current economic status had anything to do with taxes or earmarks or lack of jobs or even the unemployment rate - NO, it doesn't. Our economic woes are directly caused by this outrageous war started by the worst president in American history and supported by people like McCain.

How many jobs? How many textbooks? How much medical support? How many roads and bridges and schools could have been built with all the wasted billions of dollars and lives in Iraq?

John McCain - more of the same. McWar, McShame, McBush

What a buffoon ... he's starting to make Bush sound like a great orator! The presidency of the US is far too important of a position in this uncertain world to allow such a dim bulb to replace the low watt fool we currently have. What a joke!

So funny! Mr. McCain flies around in a private jet paid for by beer money, and yet he vows to veto every beermark. OF COURSE it is a slip-of-the-toungue, but it is funny!

We asked Republicans to nominate Huckabee . They said no. See the mess McCain is doing. His campaign is going to spend the fall explaining his mistatements, gaffes, stuff. This is total mess

He will veto every bill that he feels will benefit the 99% majority of citizens but all bills that benefit his wife and the other 1% of the rich that is a different story.

I enjoy reading all of the sophormoric dribblings of the liberals out there. They are so naieve. They are like little children filled with self-righteousness who can only cry about how bad things are, incapable of formulating any reasonable, sound action items to improve our collective situation.
Go Pink, save the snail darters, hug the trees, complain, complain, complain.

Another senior moment for McSame. And this guy is the BEST the Republicans can do? Eight years of a lying moron, and now someone who cannot make a public statement without some kind of gaffe. And he wants to attack Iran and pack the Supreme Court with justices who will overturn every progressive decision for the last 60 years.

When McCain says beer instead of bill it is the end of the world. When Obama's wife says she has never been proud of America and ment to say I am so proud to see people getting involved, it was just a mistake.

OK OK ok! All kidding aside. This is an almost DAILY thing with McCain. Haven't we had enough with so called " Leaders" who are less than " all there"? 7 1/2 Years of a bumbleing and stumbling joke of a President that if you are honest with yourselves, you would even be afraid to tell people he was you own blood if he wasn't the President. So now we have a guy that IF you even want to give him credit as to NOT be a simple LIAR at LEAST he has a memory problem and sometimes can't keep things straight in his head.

I for one do NOT want a diminished person in charge of MY life. At least he as an excuse. Bush was an Idiot on day ONE!
