All of you who Hillary voters who complain so loudly about being "disrespected", perhaps if you started behaving in a manner that inspires respect, you might get more respect. If you truly want to vote against your own self interest out of spite or disappointment, go right ahead, but don't think you are punishing Obama or the DNC by doing so. You are punishing yourself and the rest of the country, (and disrespecting Hillary and her commitment to you.)

Listen up Hillary supporters. If you love Hillary so much then why didn't you support her financially?. Stop whining and help her where she needs you most. You can't help her with the primary, its over. You can't make Obama choose her as VP but you can help get her out of debt. If not what good are you. If Obama doesn't win because Dems stay home, vote for McCain or write in Hillary, you better bet she won't win in 2012. We will make sure of it. What goes around comes around, haven't you people learned that yet. Its the nasty tactics that made her lose the primary. Hopefully Hillary has learned and better tell her people if they want her to have a shot of winning in 2012 they better vote for Obama because for the simple fact that he is the Nominee and he's a Dem.

OBAMA CAN PUT ALL THE NOTABLE AND RETIRED MILITARY LEADERS IN HIS CABINET IF ELECTED BEGINNING OF COURSE WITH GENERAL WESLEY CLARK AS SEC. OF STATE OR DEFENSE.
HE ALSO CAN PUT EDWARDS. BIDEN, DODD, LEAHY , PERHAPS SCHWARZENNEGER, AND OTHER WASHINGTON ESTABLISHMENT OLDTIMERS. HE WILL DENY CLINTON NOT ONLY THE VP SPOT BUT A CABINET POST WHICH CLINTON DOES NOT WANT ANYWAY.
hILLARY'S SUPPORTERS ARE WELL AWARE OF OBAMA'S INTENTIONS. THEY ARE NOT FOOLS.

JayRamos,

Unrestriced capitalism is to economics, what communism is to politics. Wake up. Sometimes goverment regulation is good thing. It avoids using taxes to bail out the economy.

Extending the Bush tax cuts and eliminating the AMT tax would cost one trillion dollars over 10 years. McCain has no plan to pay for it. The US no owes more money to other nations than what is owed the US. That makes us third world, dude.

It is not that America wants more taxes or bigger government it is just that when the democrats were driving they gave us more taxes and bigger government and everything was affordable. Also jobs were plentiful and there was peace. The Bushpublicans attacked the wrong people, made enemies in new places, tanked the dollar, and in the process made a ton of cash for those that were connected. I'd vote McCain/Bush but I don't have any Halli-Burton stock at stake.

Jay Ramos in NYC. Is this the first Presidiential election that you have watched? The actual campaign slates come out after the election. Until that time all that you will hear is "rhetoric".

But, this year might be something completely different.......

No Hillary then McCain = Racist

If this is your rational then it's time to take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself if you're really voting on the issues or do you have issues you need to work out.

BASIC ECONOMICS.

The money has to come from somewhere. More hot air from Obama with NOTHING concrete except to slime McCain. And this is change how exactly????

Before you just blindly follow the empty suit, do some research on what McCain and other candidates are really all about and if necessary, ask someone who works with finances in business just exactly what happens when revenues are down - can you say RIF??? (Reduction in Workforce for those unfamiliar). Guess it is a good thing Obama wants to increase unemployment benefits....

Please people - learn a little about it. Don't just vote Obama because you like his speech. That is not what electing a President is about. And don't fall for the nonsense about voting party line. Voting for a President is an honor and should be taken seriously. You should be voting for the person capable of running the country - not the person who should be Press Secretary.

TrueDat, check your facts.

Bill Clinton started in a recession left by Bush Sr. The mortgage crisis was created by Bush deregulating the industry to allow contractors, non-banking entities like Trump, to deal in loans. The Wall Street crisis occurrred because of deregulation and lack of oversight.

How many years of regulation would the $35 Billion Bears and Stearns fiasco have paid for? The GOP has a clear tax record of "slash and spend", which has created every recession seen in the US over the past 40 years.

Mary,
Do you really know some ULTRALIBERALS who will take our money away? The truth is, the wealthy have benefited from the largest tax break in our history and haven't created anything. They put it in their pockets or buy yachts or six or seven houses or whatever. You must be a very wealthy person to beleive that the liberals will take all your possessions. Possessions are the big problem for the wealth. Greed is what has caused the housing crises, the gas crises and the crises of convidence in our government. I consider myself liberal and have been working hard for the past fifty-one years and, oh yes, paying taxes and social security and giving to charity and taking care of my family. Stick your republican crap.

Anyways, what is the infatuation with Obama? In reality there is little substance behind his public speeches and rethoric.

I really wonder if Democrats and Liberals really want what is best for this country. Are you guys such big fans of more taxes, bigger government, and running away from Iraq so Al Qaida can take over?

Do we really take a look at the issues or we just go with the trendy anti-american setiment of the day?

People who claim to be one of the 18 million betrayed by the DNC should know this: Even if the DNC had voted to allow FULL delagate counts out of Florida and Michigan, Hillary still would not have overtaken Obama. This was not a popular vote election. If it was, the entire strategy for both candidates would have been different from the start. If you don't like the rules, work to change them. Both candidates played the same game.

These HRC supporters threatening to boycott or throw the election are the same people, who, if Hillary was winning without those delagates from Michigan and Flordia, WOULD CARE LESS about whether or not those states were even counted. It's like, complain that every vote counts when you need them and keep your mouth shut if you don't. C'mon, you think HRC would have cried foul if she were already winning? Fact is, she never counted on going past Super Tuesday.

What if Obama had won Florida and Michigan. Do you think hillary would have come out and started screaming about counting ALL the votes there??? Give me a break. You lost a close race. Deal with it. Your candidate, HRC, is already supporting Obama and she should be more upset than you.

Why did you vote for her in the first place? Because you care about the future of our country? If so, vote for Obama now. Otherwise, you either voted for her only because she is a woman or because you are racist against black people. There is no other reason why you would switch from her to McCain. If it was about issues vote Obama. If it is racism vote McCain. end of story.

It is good for Obama finally to talk about economy. He needs to focus on the economy like a laser. McCain's and Republican's economic ideas are all based on less governmental intervention and lower taxes. They do not have that much to talk about because they believe the economy should be run by private businesses, not the government.

When economy is not good, more people like active governmental roles in economy. In fact, there are very few countries like U.S. In Europe, Japan, China, India, Canada, Korea, Brazil, and other major countries, governments play much more active roles in economy than the U.S. Japan's government gives very detailed macro economic planning.

Are Americans ready for more governmental roles in economy? When economy is not that good, the answer is yes.

I just hope my family won't have to pay too much more taxes. We are ready to pay several thousands more a year. But if we have to pay more than 10 K a year additional taxes, we might vote against Obama because in that case, we have to cut back contributions to our 401K/IRA savinvs, or our kids educational and customdian accounts. I will check his proposals carefully after Democratic convention.

I applaud those who are wealthy by their own means like going to school, working hard and saving every penny, or inventing something unique etc. What I won't stand for is the wealthy that have gotten there riding on the coattails of someone else. i.e. Bush, McCain, half of Washington DC etc. I don't penalize or badmouth the wealthy for being rich however I do criticize them for trying to tell me that they understand the plight of the poor man when their claim to wealth was their wife, daddy, or other family member. But that is America and the rich will always be rich and the poor will always be fooled to elect and seek millionaires that 'understand' their problems.
The only guy in the campaign that is self made is Obama and he will get my vote.
PS I called my senator and his limo driver confirmed it, gas is expensive these days!

Jeff, NY June 10th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Remember, John McCain will "veto every single BEER!" lol

Oh and to clear things up, when Obama misspoke and said that there have been "57 states", he really meant 57 primary election contests.

No one speaks perfectly, but let's not forget the most notorious butcher of the English language: George W. Bush!

Isnt that like saying McCain misspoke and meant to say beers instead of bills. WOW you Obamabots really are more educated. I know I dont speak perfect english, but 57 states I know what you say he ment to say, the fact is he said 57 states.

This forum is just like the race for president. No one seems to know the issues! Even though the democrats are in charge they had nothing to do with the cost of gas. The weak dollar brought on by Republican direction of the Fed, and speculators buying commodities because they cannot make any money in financials (again do to policies by the Fed) is causing the price of oil to rise. Someone mentioned that unemployment is the lowest its ever been, after having been manipulated by the government. How about showing how many people quit looking for jobs because there are none? That figure will not be 5.5%

Bush not causing the economic problem and subprime mess is the right answer, for the correct answer travel back 25 years ago to the Federal policies of cheap money that is continuing today and the avarice of Wall Street in creating complicated investment vehicles that they do not seem to understand.

A major commentor was asked "Who would you choose for president?" His answer:

"I would shoose the smartest person available, and hope that they can hire smart people!"

As Friday would say "The facts mam, justs the facts!"

Mac is made of the real stuff. A real man. Obam is cotton candy fluff and almost womanly with his 39 bowling score..

Obam was appointed by the DNC and the DNC will appoint a VP.

After seeing the results and the delegations from the state of Washington where Obam got 25 delegates on less than 30,000 votes and he got more delegates in TX and NV when Hillary won the popular vote are prime indicators that the nomination was fixed.

So go on and try to seize the headlines on a phony VP search. Give me a break.

Well the changed the economy, that's for sure.

Now they are promising you the same things.

When will you uneducated people learn they are lying to you??

I find it amazing that the HRC suporters think that their 18 million can stop an election. But in 4 years if the 18 million that supported Obama did the same to HRC, would we not be in the same place? By no means do I say you are wrong, I just see the logic as flawed. Help me understand.

The only reason Clinton and Obama have the same platform is because he copied hers. He doesn't have an original thought. And while I thought I would vote for him in November, I am having serious doubts. I have health insurance and I don't want him interferring with private healthcare. I think universal healthcare is great but don't mess with the people who already have it. The last thing we need is a socialist system.

Look what a great economy that got us. Look what a great national debt that got us.

What's McCain want? $8.00 for a gallon of gas, a million foreclosed homes, and so much debt not even the middle east and China will loan us any more money?

<b>"The senator from Arizona is attempting to paint Obama as a typical Democrat who wants to raise taxes and regulate government..."</b>

Obama <i>is</i> a typical Democrat who wants to raise taxes, but the article got the last bit wrong: Obama wants more and more government to regulate <i>you.</i> If he becomes President, one of the first things on his list is apparently going to be to deprive us all of any choice in medical care--not fair letting all those nasty "rich" people get better care than everyone else. And raising taxes is a fundamental deprivation of liberty--things you can't afford to do because the IRS swiped another couple thousand from your annual income are indistinguishable from things you're not allowed to do.

Obama, like most Democrats, thinks we're all irresponsible idiots incapable making any significant decision without government "help."

I don’t see why people are blaming Bush for the lousy state this country is in. I have not had a raise in a year due to the crushing effect the economy has had on the profession I am in. If you ask, “Are you better now then you were a year ago.” My answer would be a profound, “yes.”
The reason is all around us, the cost of living has gone up, my paycheck hasn’t.

We are no safer now then we were for or even eight years ago. Just yesterday, the border agents captured fifteen Chinese immigrates trying to sneak into the US through Mexico. The ports are unsafe, we are farming out our Air force and railways to foreign countries.

All in all, it is not Bush’s fault we are in dire straights, it is those who chose to vote for him the second time around, and now, they are looking for a third “Bush” term through McCain? Can you say masochistic?

I've never known of a politician whose words I can trust. So, I cast my vote based on the candidates track record and what they've accomplished. Actions speak louder than words.

I wish so of the Obamaniacs out there would ask themselves "What has Obama DONE?" If you blindly believe every word uttered by him or any politician for that matter, then you ought to get your local used car salesman to run for office.

The more I read some of the comments posted here the more I'm conviced that Obama supporters like to be entertained by their candidate. Independent thinking appears to be too much of a challenge. The country would be far better off without lazy voters like that. I haven't decided who I'm voting for yet but unless I see more action and less talk from BHO, I'm not voting for him. I suggest you don't either.

Chris, Middletown, CT June 10th, 2008 11:55 am ET

As a Republican….McCain is not wrong - the majority of our GDP is spent on entitlements…the war in Iraq is only 1.5% of the GDP
**********

Actually Chris, the majority of your tax dollar goes to substaining the military. A very small portion of it goes to entitlements.

To Mary and all others who like to say that people are lazy and don't want to work hard. I understand what is behind what you are saying and you have probably worked hard to have what you have.

But there is a philosophical difference about what we believe that our "community" American means. The Republican model is a system where we live to make money off of each other but one which which leads to self-protectionism so that the "haves" can keep what they have. The Democratic model is more concerned with taking care of the least. It is not all just about having money, but the distribution of it.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if when we have two coats we would give one away?...if we spend our time and resources in activites which reflect true care for our brothers and sisters? Both parties have a long way to go, but I will be sticking with the Dems this year. They do a better job. Obama to the White House!

HIllary Suppoters do not believe in Obama as the president to unite our country he will go from the extreme right to the extreme left.

Obama represents the values of the corrupted school of politics from Chicago. Read the article of Bill Cosby about Obama on Wall Street Journal.

HIllary supporters stay home, write in Hillary's name on ballot or vote for McCain.

Calling all present and recently exited Democrats. Lets all wakeup here and see what the message boards here on CNN are doing. They are just keeping to the stories of Obama and Clinton to continually promote the agnst within the party. Don' t fall into the trap. You see they very rarely do any stories about MCCain by himself. Please ask yourselves why that is? Yes he is boring, I agree, but they will get more ratings with the drama that ensues between Hillary and Obama supporters.

Andy J, NY June 10th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Tax tax tax then spend spend spend. Redistribution of wealth.

Its not rocket science to figure out that if you tax companies more, they are going to respond by raising prices, cutting jobs, and other moves of that sort in order to maintain their profit margin.

This is America, where all you need is hard work and education in order to be successful. You do not need hard work, education, and the government in order to make your life possible.

I find it so funny that liberals will say "Keep your laws off my body" when framing the abortion debate, but what i say is "Keep your laws off my body and keep your hands out of my pockets!"

Exactly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a small business owner, well part owner ,that is exactly what will happen.

McCaine is jealouse that Obama might beat Ronald Reagan's Record.

Republicans lost that arguement on Fiscal Responsibility after Bush destroied the American Economy balance by Clinton.

Vetoing everything isn't responsible decision making.

Obama's plan to increase taxes will also cause prices across the board to rise. It is always the consumer who pays. Why can't the democrats understand this?

Not only will the consumer be broke, but will be without gas, too.
