Sampling the confused republican replies here just proves that ditto heads don't have a clue. They don't even realize the situation. One idiot even said this was "propaganda". So the Iraqi leader didn't really go and make nicey nice with the Iranian leader? Propaganda is when you make something up and spread it as truth (Tune in to Rush Limpnoodle for a perfect example of propaganda) No it's not propaganda, the Iraqi leader did go and talk to the Iranian leader after the Bush crew said it was a bad idea for any talks with Iran. That is the situation and yes it is awkward no matter how you look at it and no matter what side of the political fence you are on. Now they claim it can only help the cause in Iraq after telling Obama that it would hurt the situation. Well, which is it hurt or help? See how that is awkward.

Wolf raised a formidable issue. President Bush tours Europe so that the Europeans collaborate with US to put pressure on Iran. On the other hand, Iraqi PM pays high level visit to Iran and receives best friend's welcome. At the same time, Iran is blamed as the number one problem for the instability in Iraq.
This proves that President Bush's strategy on Iraq-Iran relationship is a total failure. After all help and support he has from US, Iran's hand in Iraqi stability, how come Iraqi PM has this kind of warm relationship with Iran? This also hints the strength of Shiite-Shiite relationship across Iraq and Iran. Iraqi PM is a Shiite and hence, as per the region's friendship of trust, it flows for him to have a good relationship with Shiite Iran, whatever US may think.

McBush is sooo clueless. He keeps saying that American troops can stay in Iraq indefinitly like in South Korea and Germany. Well, first of all. America should have left these countries a long time ago, also iraq is not korea. we will be losing young soldiers in iraq for as long as we stay there. Arabs have a long standing fear that westerners want to occupy and colonize their lands. There will always be young Arabs who will travel to Iraq to fight our soldiers. Not because these young Arabs are terrorists but because they fear American/Christian occupation of Arab lands . Mc Bush is ignorant of all of this and will be the architect of a one hundred year war of occupation that will bankrupt America.

Iraq is saving their money and charging extraordinary pricing for oil. And we have an administration and Senator McCain who wants to continue this same position. Spend, lose our service men's lives, build their infrastructure, let them charge any price for oil on any given day, and allow for more years of the same policy......

I do not buy the Admimistration's Defence (Excuse). I think they have been bafooned by both Iraq and Iran Leaders. In fact both were likely meeting to celebrate their victory (pulling the wool over America's eyes and emptying the Feds' bank accounts) If I am right, the Bush Government will be eating Crow until they begin ice skating in Hades! If it was ever proven that Trillions of US Dollars went into the Coffers of Iraq and Iran's State bank accounts compliments of Bush and Cheney's desire to make their mark on the world, I hope I'm not around to see the outcome errrr (demise).

So, let me get this straight: John McCain doesn't think that a US President should meet with a leader like Ahmadinejad, but it is okay for a close ally to do so??? Would McCain countenance the British PM meeting with Ahmadinejad, while excoriating Obama for having expressed a view that he would meet with someone like Ahmadinejad without preconditions?? Seems a bit contradictory and hypocritical to me.

Perhaps someone in the media will see that McCain needs to be asked about that clearly contradictory stance.

Bush should have read the NIE that might have warned about the Iranians benefiting from the removal of Sadam. If there was no such NIE, then the intelligence community is seriously flawed.

As long as both Iran and Iraq Governments are from the same sect, there will be an unwritten bond between them, stronger than any "pact" with Iraqis the US can dream of.

Tradition is one of the aspects of the Middle East that NO American administration has ever understood.

Hopefully if Obama is elected, then he will appoint middle eastern experts (not Americans who claim to be experts on middle east) and give them a voice at the policy making sessions.

Nick – why should Mrs. Obama be proud of this racist country. While she was growing up I'm sure she saw her friends and family sprayed with hoses, dogs attacked, heard about the CIA bringing drugs to the inner city communities, giving black men syphillis, this all while getting a higher education. I'm sure she's been called the n word more times then you can write words. I'm sure she endured much hatred in her lifetime. I'm sure she had to read about what our government deemed as great hero's of American, while these same people had a hand in the lynching, raping, murder and genocide of her people. Then on top of that she is a woman and had to endure all the sexism from the men plus she had to work four times as hard as a man but received less pay. I know the perception is if you make money then you should be happy.

I know its hard to tell that people have a heart since George Bush and his gang are raping American citizens while going golfing and enjoying life, but some people have a heart and care about others. I for one am still not proud of America. We cosigned for the genocide of the Iraq people and barely blinked. Look at the Jena six travesty, and katrina. We as citizens allow our government to mistreat other citizens while clinging to guns and religion. Look how people hate immigrants but America was founded on immigrantion, remember the melting pot? Meanwhile businesses are profitting off of immigration and they are the reason why immigrants are coming to America but no hate is spewed towards them. Businesses send jobs overseas but Americans will spew racist comments about the foreigners receiving the jobs. How stupid!
