Hopefully all Americans can agree on one thing, impossible as that may seem. Everyone wants the war on terror and specifically the fighting in Iraq to end, being a proud Republican I know of no one who wants the war to contiue or who likes this war. However, the war on terror MUST end in victory and this includes Iraq. We are getting closer and closer to realizing this victory in Iraq, speficially having Iraq govern and manage it's own affiars without American involvement.

That is what Senator McCain is sayng in the article above, the date we eventually leave is not as important as leaving in victory

This guy is an idiot. I can't believe I once thought about voting for him in a previous election.
The Iraqi people don't want us there and the majority of the US people don't want us there. Considering we never should have entered Iraq in the first place, and should have concentrated on finding Bin Laden in Afghanistan, we need to withdraw NOW!
When are the Republicans ever going to get a clue that Iraq does not = 9/11? Although with all the enemies Bush has created for the Americans over there because of his foolishness and stupidity it could now unless the Democrats can put an end to it.

"That’s all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw."

If this is an accurate quote, does anyone have any idea what he is trying to say here? This is not the first time I have noticed that the words coming out of his mouth are almost unintelligible. Forget whether we agree or disagree with his ideas - sometimes it's just plain impossible to tell what the heck he's trying to say.

Like Bush, but at least when Bush slaughters the English language, it usually has comedic appeal - this is just mud.

History has shown us that there are two things people will fight doggedly for: their religion and their homeland. The militants in Iraq are fighting for one, the other, or both. Most American’s in Iraq are fighting for neither. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we can bring our troops home to safety. In my mind, a quick withdrawal saving thousands of American lives is the only way we win anything in this war.

"Welcome Hillary Supporters June 11th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

I'd like to welcome all the Hillary Clinton supporters to the republican party and thank you for coming to your senses and backing the best candidate, John McCain.
Together we can:

1) help reverse Roe v. Wade and make abortion illegal - let's stop the murder of unborn babies!
2) stop gays from getting married - let's get a constitutional amendment to stop gay marriage and let them know they are not normal!
3) keep fighting the good fight in Iraq for as long as it takes - remember 9/11 and what we are fighting for!
4) get ready to invade Iran - we know they are planning to nuke us - let's get them first! McCain will make sure we do!
Good to see democrats finally waking up and becoming more conservative!"

Dream on! :)

Now, now, Mc Flip Flop..... You know you got to be careful what you say. Seems like you support Bush on leaving the troops over there as long as needed and in the mean time let our economy suffer here. Something is not right with that picture. Dont you get it... Our troops and folks here are BOTH suffering!

Let there be no mistake:
Every dollar spent on an American to feed, house, employ, educate, medicate, transport, supply utilities, provide for a secure retirement; defend against injustices foreign or domestic, physically and legally, is a dollar spent building personal hope and is thus a dollar spent for a capitol gain. That means it will give back to the wealth of the nation.

Every dollar spent on the war machine is a dollar wasted, it is a pure loss like the plastic Christmas toy that breaks bringing tears almost before the smile. In fact it would be smarter to burn the cash because then it would not foment the fear, jealousy, pain and resentment the grandparents of terrorism.

Is America ready to be the adult? Or are we intending to continue the antics of a spoiled child turned bully, that have prevailed for the last 7 years.

The prosperity we enjoyed during the fifties and sixties were a direct result of the GI Bill, the FHA housing loans, the CCC and New Deal, and the Marshall plan that helped rebuild what the war destroyed abroad. Whenever the Republicans dominate the economy tanks and we fall into depression! just fact.

I am so upset with the DNC so I am definitely voting Republican in the fall; here are some Key reasons why I like John Mccain and why I think the 18 million Hillary supporters should switch and vote for Mccain also

McCain has a 0% pro-choice rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood.
* He has vowed to appoint pro-life justices to the Supreme Court.
* McCain voted against reauthorizing the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) for five years.
* He voted against the restoration of the Fair Pay Act.
* McCain voted to suspend the Family and Medical Leave Act in 1993.
* He voted to shut down the Title X family-planning program, which provides millions of women with health care services ranging from birth control to breast cancer screenings.

I am so in love with this guy
gaush
he is so cute
This is definitely the change I can believe in.

The major difference between Korea, Japan and German is that there is no currently active combat zone in those areas. Iraq is currently considered by many to be an active combat zone. There are active duty troops there needing to go on missions to kill those that would kill us.

CNN does not post any negative comments about Obama.

Yellow Journalism at its' finest.

Still waiting for Obama to tell the truth about Rezko."
------------------------------
He already did. There's nothing there. Nothing came out in the trial. Rezko was convicted, there was no connection to Obama, and that's that.

Sorry to disappoint you. :)

McCain is simply unreal. When I watch and listen to his listless comments, dead tone and hollow words I ask myself is this who we want to lead our country? Absolutely not! He is a very nice man and has served his country well but he is NOT presidential material. He sings the same song, relies on the same old tactics and wants us to believe he is a "change" agent. Get real folks! The same old, same old and the people of America have had enough. The margain of support for Obama over McCain is increasing each week and will continue to do so as the summer goes on. The republicans will lose big in November. Yes, republicans continue to trash talk Obama as they are simply afraid of running against Obama as it is a sure fire ingredient for failure on their part.

False attack? You are once again on tape. Get with the program, you would think that since this war is so unpopular that you would be careful of what you say, guess not.

You must be confused if you think when our troops leave Iraq is not important.

To Welcome Hillary Supporters:

"I'd like to welcome all the Hillary Clinton supporters to the republican party and thank you for coming to your senses and backing the best candidate, John McCain.

Together we can:

1) help reverse Roe v. Wade and make abortion illegal - let's stop the murder of unborn babies!

2) stop gays from getting married - let's get a constitutional amendment to stop gay... blah blah"

1. is a state by state decision not DECIDED by PRESIDENT
and
2. is also a state by state decision not decided by president.
get your facts straight and vote accordingly. you are so misguided and backwoods. Stop voting based on what your daddy and momma told you and think for yourself .

I have never once voted Republican in a national election, however I would have voted for John McCain . . . 8 years ago. The man I see now I don't recognize at all. I realize that this is his LAST chance at the presidency but it seems this John McCain will say and/or back anything to get elected. It saddens me that after what George Bush and Rove did to him in South Carolina (debatably worse than the Swift Boating of John Kerry) that he climbed right into bed with them to gain the Republican nomination. Then tops that off by pandering to the far right wing of the party all the while talking out of the other side of his mouth to try and gain favor from independants and HRC's upset constituency. This man, this John McCain, isn't even a shadow of the man who USE to stand up for his principles . . . now he doesn't seem to have any at all!!!!!!!!!

He basically said what he has been for weeks now. His main concern is casualties and its noble. So long as there are no more soldiers wounded or killed he sees no real need to leave quickly.

Those that want to stay say either:
A: Iraq is still a dangerous place that needs our help.
B: Iraq is rebuilding and doing well because we are there.

WIth those two arguments as a rationale we will never leave.

I don't see how anyone can think that we could stay in a place where they don't want us, and where the kind of anti-American sentiment exists as in Iraq for 100 years and not suffer casualties. South Korea and Japan want us there. Iraq does not.

NOT TOO IMPORTANT??? What a Bush cultist. Those of you insist we will "win" the so-called war (that is, invasion and occupation) in Iraq shold define what a "win" is and decide what we really get for our 500 billion dollars and thousands of Americna lives.

And why, oh why, do so many fools believe military service makes one somehow more ready to be President? We have a civilian leader of the military, according to the Constitution, for a reason! "Sir, yes sir!"

Did you guys hear the latest news about Bush's pathetic administration - FEMA gave away just this year about $85 million in goods that were meant for Katrina victims years ago?! It was costing over $1 million for storage per year and now another group wanted to use the warehouses - thats why they gave them away!!!

Vote for McSame and continue the pathetic Bush 3rd term, dumb voters as dumb as the person they voting for!

Admit it - a lot of factors were behind such stupidity by the Bushes - race, politics and sheer meaness...as evident in the McSame policies

'...those items never made it to people such as Debra Reed.
"An honest person like me didn't get nothing," said Reed, 54, who recently moved from a tent beneath a New Orleans bridge to a home with the help of Kegel's group. "I'm gonna turn, 'cause I'm gonna cry. I didn't get nothing. I fought to get my money, but they wouldn't give it to me. So I ended up going under the bridge" .'

There are still people (such as the one above (welcome Hillary Supporters) who have their fingers on the nuke button and Bush's mentality of lets go get them. They haven't learned anything from Iraq war, which was based on lies and looks like Bush is ready again to take us to another war, probably based on some more lies.

In Iraq there were the WMD which they knew were North, south, east and west of Baghdad (according to Rumsfeld)....but the truth IS they weren't.

Now its Iran today. What will be tomorrow? And for God's sake we should know that it is not easy to build nukes. Only 10 or so country that have it and most of them cannot deliver it far enough to reach USA. (Oh yes, there is one country that possibly has the capabilities but the world does not admit or even supervises it....Guess which one?)

We must ask our politicians to think about America first and not base our policies to appease another country. We, americans must think of us first but as long as we continue to base our foreign policies based on how it will effect one small country in the ME, we will have problems at home and elsewhere.

Lets get the trigger happy politicians out of washington.

I'm not saying McCain is senile. But he definitely is crazy if he thinks he's going to win, especially if this is the best he has.

Maybe the press should cover his pitiful stances on women's issues.

McCain opposed the Equal Pay Bill for Women, saying they "need education and training’ instead.

He crippled the Family and Medical Leave act in 1993.

In 2005, he voted against funding for programs to prevent unintended and teen pregnancies—and reduce abortions in the process.

In 2003, he voted against requiring health insurers to include birth control—and, again, prevent more abortions.

In his service as an Illinois legislator and a U.S. senator, Obama has earned a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood for voting in favor of sex education, counseling, and the right to choose. McCain? Lowest ranking senator at zero percent.

Vote Obama—he DOES have experience. And it's the right kind.

One more thing. If American casuality goes down to very low in Iraq, then Aemrican public will support staying in Iraq. Do you remember the American zero casualty war against Serbia? The U.S. almost bombed Serbia into stone age destroying Serbia's all kinds of infrastructure and killing thousands of Serbia people. But Americans sufferred zero casualty. What was the support level of that war? I bet over 80%.

If the American casualties go down in Iraq, then McCain will win the arguments. Obama should concentrate on economy, not Iraq war.

McCain's time has past. He let the Bush folks talk him out of running against Bush in 2000, so now he is too old to even think straight. This is too sad, because I was more inclined to vote for him back then. However, he now seems so out of touch, so stiff and so slow and just not someone who has the charisma to inspire the country. Maybe there should be an age limit for the presidency. I don't think anyone can argue that a 40-something year old mind is more agile than a 70-something year old mind. Look what happened to Reagan? He went into seclusion when he left the White House because he was already in the mid stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Americans must become smart enough to analyze everything...along with the issues at hand. McCain is McSame because at this point, he can only remember what is, not what should be.

McCain you are right only a fool would pull out quickly, even Obama is coming around to the way Hillary and McCain are thinking. Little bit of flip flopping I would say, this is want inexperience does. Marcus, we are voting to send a message to the DNC, the news media, and the people who stabbed Hillary in the back from her own party. She can run in 2012. McCain is a moderate so it works for me. All Clinton supporters go to Clinton 4Mcain.com or justsaynodeal.com!!!!!!

I predict the entire mess Bush has got us into, and the gaffes-a-minute from McCain will all be forgotten when people go to the polls. I predict that the majority of sheep who voted for Bush will be again frightened into voting for McCain because they will play into people's fears about Obama (aka Muslim, flag pin, bitter, Wright).

voters are sheep. that's why we had bush elected for 2 terms. that's why McCain will probably be voted in. AND WE CAN THANK THE SHEEP FOR $10 a gallon gas! Worse health care crisis. More deaths in iraq and maybe even iran.

Re: Vig -- reality check!!!! No one cares if you write in Hillary's name in Nov. You might as well write in Micky Mouse, because it will not effect anything. As Hillary supporters supposedly flock to McCain, McCain’s support numbers continue to go down. The more McCain tries to cater to Hillary’s supporters and the more Hillary’s supporters rant about voting for McCain, the less credible both are.
