Hey fred - I'm where Obama's money came from, and a million or so other individuals just like me. There, is that public enough for you? Oh, and I bought both his books too, so I guess I helped buy his house too - just so the record is clear.

Barack Obama is supported by blacks, the young, and wealthy liberals. Not a overwhelming demographic for a general election. It is the same demographic of McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, and Kerry.
The Starbucks crowd supports Obama.
The gas station coffee crowd supported Clinton and supports McCain.

Obama is out of touch with middle America. He is an elitist. He is like Kerry in that he does not campaign in states where he does not think he will do good. If you never ask for a vote, guess what, you may not get the vote. And if you do not get the vote do not blame it on racism. Blame it on the candidate!

It's a bit too late for Mr. Penn to be crying about what he feels were the injustices of the campaign. If I remember correctly his title was "Senior Strategist" and unless I'm wrong, along with the majority of others who have already sounded off on this, that means that he was one of those at the top of the brain trust. Don't make anymore excuses for what happened, and just face the reality that YOU LOST THE CAMPAIGN. Move on, and get a life.

Obame voted to fund the troops while they are in danger, isnt that the right thing to do?

To actually vote for the war is something different, to provide troops with gear and other necessities while they are there is not hypocritical it is what you have to do...So i don't get his argument

what he needs to get is that the people voted, Rev Wright was played all day almost every day by CNN and everyone else. That didn't help Obama.

Plus Bill was the media's darling when he ran, so don't be mad if people like, love whatever Obama. It's not his fault, he was dealt worse blows by the media in my opinion....the stuff Hillary dealt with she brought on herself. Always playing the victim, crying during debates...r u serious...

You people always try to find a scapegoat, she lost fair and square, end of story, u ran a stupid campaign!!! its YOUR FAULT!!!!

Hillary did not lose the election to Obama. It was taken from her by the "delegates" who gave the nomination to Obama. I say get rid of all delegates, super delegates and the electoral college and let the peoples vote "really" count. After this is our government, not the delegates.

did anyone read the article on msnbc.com from Howard Fineman and how he portrays Barack's misjudgement in picking Jim Johnson as his vp vetter knowing that he recd money from lobbyists. Howard Fineman is usually very supportive of Barack and very critical of Clinton together with Olberman on National Barack Channel(NBC). Now if he can write a sound article criticizing bad calls made by Barack and he supports him why can't Barack supporters criticize their messiah. Some people can't take the heat. CNN post my comment.

Mark Penn ruined Hillary's campaign by telling her that she should ignore the caucus states. This man should NEVER work in politics. It's time to move on and focus on winning the White House.

The fact is that Hillary and her "combo" mismanaged her campaign she began 8 years ago. Mark Penn is a good example of a lack of judgment in selecting subrogates. Then, she didn't administrate wisely the campaign funds by thinking she would secure the nomination by February. Finally, she couldn't control her husband who was talking stupidities everywhere without measuring its consequences. As a Hillary supporter, I have to accept now that under US current circumstances, she is not the right person to be a president neither Vice president.

TO............Raymond DukeThe democrat leadership , the Obama campaign and the media would have been taking to task and not given a free ride to do as they pleased.

I thought Mark Penn was the only one at this late date playing the blame game. It's obvious that you are a Clinton supporter and have been introduced to the blame game of politics.....blame everyone else, but not ME!. What shouldn't have been stated is that Clinton, her camp (including Mark Penn( should have WORKED HARDER for their salaries to WIN. JUST as Obama, his camp did, WINNER........ Wouldn't you know........

GAS IS TO HIGH, there's nothing call a FREE RIDE............Obama 08

Honest question: is this guy even a Democrat? I know the Clintons have shown the willingness to hire non-Democrats in the past (see Gergen and Dick Morris). Penn obviously doesn't care about the Democrats' chance of winning in November. He's more than willing to rehash Obama's weaknesses just to TRY and make it seem like Hillary's loss wasn't his fault. He's continuing to throw Obama (and others) under the bus to save his political career.

Penn is finished, though. Nobody will ever hire him after the disasterous way Hillary's campaign was run, regardless of how he tries to spin it. He's a political consultant. Are people really going to believe anything he says?

Why should Hillary appologize for voting to go to the war? Senator Mcain was also present in the meeting. How can anyone vote NO with all the evidence presented to the Congress at that time. Did senator Mcain believe the Iraqi UN representativeat that time when the latter told the world we do no thave WMD'S.

A.) I really hate being called a 'latte voter', even if I am. Show some respect, dude.

B.) I'm one of the thousands of people who were just fine with Hillary until she turned, on Penn's advice, mean and hateful. If she'd gone "warmer", she might have appealed to us 'latte voters'.

Senator Clinton, please do not accept nor put your name on the VP list because whatever happens you will not receive the credit you deserve. Concentrate on being the best senator of New York. Your husband's foundation will remain strong and will help more Americans and foreign citizens around the world.

I just feel sorry for the people who hates you because they have nothing better to do.

This has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Isn't this the same guy who told Hillary to only focus on the big states and that the California delegate math are winner takes all instead of splitting them among the actual votes.

Money problem were not the reason Hillary lost. She had more money then any of her democartic rivals from the beginning. The strategy thing holds more weight because she didn't have any strategy at all after super tuesday back in February.

Hillary had everything going for her and YES she did underestimate Obama and his campaign, and what the voters really wanted.I think the people who Hillary trusted to run her campaign and those she surrounded herself with made it very difficult for her to win because they really didn't have a clue on what it really takes to win a campaign.

WARNING Democrats! It's being discovered that much of the Clinton-supporters-moving-to-McCain myth is being stoked by Republicans trying to weaken the Democratic Party. Many of the posts from so-called Clinton supporters saying they will never support Obama are really just Republicans trying to "prime the pump" for weak-principled Democrats. It's a smart strategy that utilizes the power of blogs and bulletin boards to create the illusion of a "movement". When you see these posts, ignore most of them as they are bogus. Or, fight back by posting as a fake conservative that supports Obama (an Obamacon)! The battleground is for weak-principled voters who can be swayed by these illusions!

You know what angers me about Mark Penn?

I DO NOT EVEN LIKE COFFEE, let alone lattes. I drive a freaking Hyundai Accent, so no, I am not an "elitist". I am educated, reasonably intelligent and tremendously cynical about politics, yet I believe that our government can be better than it is.

And I voted for Barack Obama. People like Mark Penn need to stop both condescending to and underestimating me. There's a lot more people like me out there than they realize.

I'll give him credit for not resorting to the "sexism" claim, but otherwise . . . give me a break. This guy charged millions for his advice. He was in control of HRC's campaign. Yet we're to believe that his winning advice, and Bill's as well, was just brushed aside? Take some responsibility, Mr. Penn. As the high-paid consultant and pollster, you -- as much as anyone -- bear direct responsibility for HRC's poor campaign (indeed, she was at her best in the last month, AFTER you left!).

Fight with yourself. If Senator Clinton cannot manage her campaign finances, how can she manage the national finance? Senator Obama managed his finances very well and has continued to do so. He encouraged his staff to carpool, ride the train and stay two in a room during outside campaigns.

This is nothing but "A BAD WORKMAN, IN THIS CASE A BAD WORKWOMAN WHO CONTINUES TO QUARREL WITH HER TOOLS"

Obama for 2008

Mark Penn you finally get to explain what happened... the rest of the democratic party is going to have to live with "what could have been"... everything you talked about is what the republican machine is going to use to win...

Obama's support is limited and if he can not carry the base of the party it is all ready over!!!

I guess as a life long democrat the simple fact that McCain is more like an (I) than a (R) is not too distressing...

Was there every a losing candidate who did not blame the press for their lose or a winner who credited the press for their won? The press has nothing to do with winning or losing, it is the candidate, the people in the campaign and their message. We need to stop taliking about the Hillary campaign and focus on the general election.

Hillary LOST for a combination of reason but the number one reason is she thought she was entitled to the position. The second being her husband she should have long divorce and the others are equally at fault.

Including Chelesa who campaign for her mother but took no questions from reporters.

Good Bye Hillary, Bill, Mark and all others supporters of the Clintons.

This is all starting to sound like a preplanned game! "Get rid of the more experienced DEM candidate and bring this inexperienced no body to represent the DEMs, and then smooth the way for another Republican to get into the office!". Perhaps this is all politics behind the curtains and we are all just going for the ride!!! What if we really need to deal with Iran and the only one that will do it is McCain? You all think that this guy would have a chance if he went against Hillary Clinton? Why not erect some other DEM candidate that has tons of more experience that Obama even if we don't want another Clinton? Is the DEM party so desparate that they didn't have anyone else? What happened to John Edwards? Why not him? This is all very very suspicious!!!! CNN: please put up my comment.

Nevermind that the campaign went negative prior to TX & Ohio - Nevermind that Obama was actually a great candidate and very tough to beat, even for the Clinton Machine - Nevermind that Clinton constantly held McCain in higher regard than she did her fellow Democrat, which turned off many dems - Nevermind the fact she lied about sniper fire - Nevermind the fact she tried to scare old white people by bringing up Farrakhan and Hamas at the Philly debates - Nevermind she continues to lie about the popular vote, both in it's relevance and accuracy.

And you wonder why he has work to do with some constituancies!

Mark Penn is a clown and so is every other drip in this world that actually believes the crap about sexism and all the other weak excuses.

Sometimes you get beat by a better opponent. She worked her butt off and I respect that, but the nominee has been decided in this fair fight and it's time to stop whining and get behind Mr. Obama just like I would have if Mrs. Clinton prevailed.

Get Real folks.

Please, can someone email Mark Penn and tell him that the American people voted with confidence in hope and beliefe. As people mention the 18 million voters for Clinton, how about the rest of the voters who chosed the other candidate? How about those who votes they felt would have been uncounted for (FL/MI) so I'm really confused about this. Meanwhile, he tells all in hopes of getting his 5 million with interest for the Primary "gone to hell in a hand basket."

It is precisely because of the collective arrogance of the people in Hillary's campaign staff that she LOST.

Reviewing the early speeches of Clinton shows her smug and conceited approach to the audience.

"I am ready from Day 1" and "I am more experienced to be Commander in Chief" backfired because of the way she said them.

Mark Penn is an idiot sleezeball. But it was Hillary who hired him. That perhaps was the biggest mistake she made, and I am sure she will regret that for the rest of her life.

Also, she should have apologized for authorizing the war, especially because she did that without reading the relevant NIE.

He should keep his mouth closed. All we need is another talking head trying to make himself look good.

Maybe he will decide to forfeit the money due him from the Clinton Campaign.

Penn is a political advisor who is not in touch with current political realities. As an example, we only need to ask why Penn considers himself a politicat advisor/strategist. Who referred this guy to Hillary? Michelle Obama?

In the end, everything lies with the candidate as to the reason why they lost. You can't blame the people working for you - fire time if they are not taking you in the direction that you feel you need to go; you can't bame the media - they were just a tough on Senator Obama as they were on Senator Clinton no matter what you and others think; money - you have to be financially responsible with the money that others entrust you with. The bottom line is the Clinton camp underestimated Senator Obama and thought that they had a slam dunk but did not. By the time the realized that they didn't she was in trouble both financially and really started to attack Senator Obama sometimes fair and other times unfair - and that really turned a lot of people off. Sure, towards the end she started to win but in the end Senator Obama has won more states, the popular vote (caucus included which Senator Clinton did not include in her numbers), more pledged votes and super delegates. I also agree that Penn should eat the loss to help lower her debt. He would have still been working for her if not for the things that he was involved.

Mark for a smart man you really contradict yourself. I thought Hillary was smart and could think for herself. Well now we know that was not true. If you were smarter than a 8th Grader you would have slapped Hillary and said this is wrong do it this way and maybe she would have listen. You did not use any force to make sure she was on track and when the other idiot came in he wasn't any better. As for as sexism, no. Hillary ran her campaign and whimp on natinal TV when she wanted her voters to vote for her, so want is so sexism about that, she was playing the media and the American People.

Clinton the feminist should not have relied on men like Bill Clinton or Mark Penn, or MacAuliffe. She would have found her voice on her own and done much better.

The following statement by Mark Penn is pathetic, first of all Obama wasn't the reason Hillary didn't win, Mark Penn and her camp was the suppose to be EXPERTS she hired to that made the end results as they were. I see WHY she LOSE, even now he’s not taking blame for Hillary's money woes and her loss. Her supporters are upset with the wrong people, this is who they should be angry at. Hillary supporters you may be next…….

We the Obama supporters continue to hear voters complain that Obama is not God. Every time you log on to these blogs, someone is blaming Obama for everything that happens, mostly the negative things that he has TOTALLY NOTHING to do with.

Until people like Penn start owning up to their short comings, mistakes and oversights, they will always place blame on someone else. This is out of touch with the normal American voters, we all make mistakes, it‘s just some of us are mature enough to admit the truth.

If former President Clinton would have kept his hands to himself, then Obama may not have had a chance.

Bill Clinton's immoral and ruthless behavior, past and present has completely overshadowed any accomplishments made by his wife, Hillary.

I never want to see Bill anywhere near the White House again!!!

I thought the Dems are ready to unite and work for Sen. Obama,
but with comments like these ones from Mr. Penn, they could just
be doing the other side some real big favour. Some are born
to be ruled while some are destined to rule, wait, watch out for
Sen. Obama.
