The great thing about Mr. Russert is that he treated everyone no matter what political party the same. He dealt with direct quotes by his guest with a no nonsense approach. He seemed like the most honest journalist on TV. You will be missed Mr. Russert. May God bless you and your family.

Truth, Respect, Honor, Integrity. These are what Tim Russert was made of and what he sought from others in his reporting. He will be greatly missed from the world, this country and this election season. I fear that no others will even get close to ensuring that all of the right questions are asked, answered and made clear to the American people. This is a tremendous loss.

I'm still unable to pick my jaw off the floor. Fifty-eight is far too young for anyone to go. This is a tremendous tragedy, and as shocked as I am, my grief is incomparable to the enormous hole that must be left in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues at NBC, and the rest of the media. Tim is one of the last in the great tradition of political journalists that would ask the tough questions and not let people off the hook for their spin. He was an example of the good that journalism can do when it does what it should, and I hope that in the coming days and weeks of this campaign, both sides of the political fence can recognize what a terrible loss this is for our country.

I am stunned! So saddened by the news regarding Mr. Russert. Tim was the driving force behind me getting involved in watching the Sunday Political news shows. I loved his show and his style of reporting. I am 45 and never could stomach watching any political news shows until Tim began his show. I have high respect and admiration for Mr. Russert and my heart goes out to his family; his wife and son and his father whom we all know as "Big Russ". I will keep the picture of him in my mind of when I saw Matt Lauer talking with Tim on "The Today Show" about the Democratic Presidential Champaign and Matt said, "Well Tim, looks like this is going to go on for a good while" and Tim got a big grin on his face and said, "Let's hope so I love it!!". Rest in peace Mr. Russert. Thanks for everything.

I came to the US in 1981 and grew up watching Tim as he came up the ladder in the political sector of the broadcasting industry; watched his shows and think he is one of the best political moderators we have had. My most sincere condolences to his family and please know that he is greatly admired by people like me, who learned from his shows, interviews and moderator roles about this great country's political system. He will be greatly missed, as he is greatly loved and admired.

Tim Russert was an incredible person and an amazing journalist. I had the honor of working for him at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston and he was the nicest guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Tim will be greatly miss..his voice was one of sound reasoning. I just started watching Meet the Press his discussions were of great substance and his guests were superb. I pray for someone with excellent caliber will be able to fill those big SHOES.

I will be praying for his wife and son has they go through this time of mourning and his colleagues.

I'm disappointed in the people are choosing to remember him distastefully like implications that it was partially his fault that Hillary Clinton didn't win the race. Put your emotions about the politics aside for once and remember his fruitful career.

Excellent journalist and apparent wonderful human being. This blog should be to pay respect to the man and condolences to his family, not judgement as to his past personal preferences for certain candidates for political offices. His successor will be hard pressed to fill his void.

This is a sad, sad day for America and for me personally. I tuned into Russert's Meet the Press every weekend. He was one of the few OBJECTIVE journalists that asked all of the candidates the tough questions. I felt like I could get honesty from Russert. For instance, all of the other networks allowed the Clinton campaign to say they led in the popular vote and never challenged it. Only Russert brought to light that her math involved Obama getting ZERO votes from one or more states in order for her to be the popular vote winner.
