Unhappiness in Clinton camp over Obama hire

WASHINGTON (CNN) - The news of Patti Solis Doyle’s hire by Barack Obama is not being well-received by many of those close to the New York senator and by former members of her campaign team, according to a longtime adviser, a top campaign staffer and several major donors.

Doyle, long rumored to be in talks with the Obama team about a position on the Illinois senator’s presidential campaign, was officially named the chief of staff for Obama’s future vice presidential pick on Monday.

According to one longtime adviser, the move is being seen by many of those close to Clinton as a message she will not be Obama’s vice presidential pick.

An aide to Obama insists the hire should not be read as indication of who their choice will be.

The official reaction from the Clinton camp contained no criticism of the the hire. “Patti will be an asset and good addition to the Obama campaign,” said campaign spokesman Mo Eleithee. “After nearly two decades in political life, she brings with her the ability to tap an extensive network that will be a huge asset to Senator Obama. As Senator Clinton has said, we’re all going to do our part to help elect Senator Obama as the next President of the United States.”

But many of those close to Clinton remain "angry and furious with [Doyle]" over the campaign’s performance early in the primary season, and share a widespread belief she "grossly mismanaged our campaign," according to one former staffer.

"[T]here was no modicum of planning, none of the backup plan that would be in place at any smart campaign in the event we'd lose Iowa, no planning after Super Tuesday," said one former aide. Others say there is plenty of blame to go around.

A top Democrat close to Solis Doyle says Solis Doyle would not have accepted the job if she believed Senator Clinton would be Obama's choice for vice president.

Michigan voter. Do you really think you are fooling anyone? We know you think you are a Republican. The question is why do you think you should be a Republican. Do you make more than 250K per year? Do you think our environment is worthless if we can kill it to make a dollar? Do you think a corrupt president who lies to the people for his ego and for oil and gets our soldiers killed in a useless war is a good way to lead? Are you really better off than you were 8 years ago? Are you really in favor of a candidate that promises to stay in Iraq until we no longer having soldiers die and then its ok to stay there because we are no longer having soldiers die? Is it ok to stay there spending money we do not have and increasing our national deficit which is destroying the value of the dollar? The answer to all of these would be a simple no if you bothered to educate yourself somewhere other than Rush Limbaugh or Fox News. Those people have their own adgenda and it has nothing to do with what is best for you so use your brain and stop listening to the lies.

I dont think that Hillary Clinton is out of the running for VP but if her supporters keep nagging she will be. It his campaign he can hire who ever he wants to work with the future VP Hillary Clinton or not. I think Al Gore was on stage for a reason tonight. Can anyone say Obama/Gore.

If I was herI wouldn't want the job. She does not even need to get close to that ticket. It would be utter destruction for her. He is going to lose in an electoral land slide.Except for the starry eyed college kids, the black population and the latta left wingers who in their right minds is going to vote for a socialist who hates america, friends who hate america and make anti-american comments not counting his terriost friends I saw a question from an Obama supporter who dared a clinton supporter to name her one African american senator, Obama of course. Now name me a single Mayor of a city that is black that has run the city successfukl and has a low crime rate? Also name me a country that is developed that has a black in charge. The best answer you could give would be south africa and it is rapidly deterriotating.

If Hillary runs as an independent in novemember theres still every chance that she will be elected and if not then she will have succeeded in splitting the democratic vote, hence denying obama the opportunity to become president. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain by standing as an independent.

It's funny the Muslims "we hate" have even find out how stupid we are, and have found a way to fight us and win, by raising gas prices, and there we are at their marcy and some of us are still acting like the f**ls we are.
Stop blaming Obama, he did not sent us to Iraq a Middle East nation, the people "we hate" and now those people "we hate" are killing us with our dependent on them for the oil. We think we are winning the war in Iraq, well they have found a way to win this war without fighting us on the battle field. McCain thinks the surge is working, well the gas prices keep go up and up.
Jesus Christ, how stupid can we be. America wake up!!!!!

For all the Clinton's supporters that continue to bad mouth Obama: do you really think you are doing Clinton a favor by crossing the party line and going against everything she has worked for? Remember, this is her dream to, a Black man being a Democratic nominee, she fought for Civil Rights.

She just didn't expect in when she thought it should be HER turn

Not to be rude about this like all of these die hard Clintonbots but Obama can Hire who he wants for whatever he wants. If Hillary Clinton wants to Hire someone Obama will have to keep his mouth shut too!

Whats the problem anyway. At one point Clinton LOVED this woman...now that Hilly doesn't like her she should spend the rest of her life unemployed??

i like hillary. i dont like obama. i like mccain and he likes hillary. obama doesnt like anyone especially hillary. the dnc doesnt like hillary. hillary supporters dont like the dnc. the dnc and the obama supporters caused the rift within the party. its not hillarys fault that the dnc is hated. yep, unless hillary gets the nomination in august (stranger things have happened) i will certainly vote for mccain. why? well, some that voted for obama cleary hate hillary and since i dont like obama then why shouldnt i vote for mccain?

why are people getting so offended by who Obama hires as a vetter? It's not like he's giving these people high government jobs.. he's just asking them to interview potential running mates.

I'll tell you this... if McCain gets elected... I'm seriously going to think about moving out of this country... Canada is sounding better and better. Because the reality is that if any white man ran the same campaign that Obama did.. that man would win this november in a landslide.

And to Brian in Tenn... I was just in Tenn... granted it was only on a layover... and met with a girlfriend of mine out there. I must have heard the 'N' word fly out around me more in one hour than I've heard in California in a whole year. I can see why Tenn will not vote for Obama. And It's sad to say that I'm not proud of a country that still puts so much negativity out based on the color of someone's skin.

    Hey...Disapponnted (?)
With Obama in the White House-your scenario will most likely be true....remember....those who hate this country and want to do it harm in anyway possible....took that chance and succeeded with no experience Bush at the realm–first term.
They will do it again with Obama
Let's all pray they don't get another chance-NO OBAMA.

Most of the negative comments about Presidential nomnee Obama is coming from Republican posing as Hillary supporters. Check this out! If they were really Hillary supporters they would have listened to her when she said I am fully supporting Obama and even thinking about MCbush is totally gravely WRONG!!! Unless otherwise GOP is trying hard to get some of naive voters to think otherwise that some Hillary would think to come to them. Just LOOK AT THE POLL Obama is ahead of MCain-bush. How some real democrats including true Hillary supporters don;'t even think about loose to REPUBLICANS. THIS IS ABOUT WHO IS GOING TO WIN. DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS. I THINK MOST TRUE DEMOCRATS ARE FULLY SUPPORTING OBAMA TO END ANOTHER THIRD TERM OF BUSH. BRING OUR CHILDREN HOME SAFLEY!!!

Obama knows what he is doingl I trust his judgement, so I'm not worry about his choice. Hiliary voters need to focus on getting Obama to be President or else we are going to find ourselves with John McCain as President. We all know what a nightmare McCain would be as a President. MA
