I figure all these so-called Clinton supporters who are bashing Obama are either right wing operatives or racist nut jobs........or both.

The Democratic(and republican for that matter) primary was not a beauty pageant or football game. The winner doesn't go home with a trophy and take 3 months off. There are real issues at stake here. A vote for McCain is a vote against Hillary and the issues she stands for. No matter who anyone is voting for, if they are not looking at the issues Obama/McCain back and instead are basing their selection on some bizarre reasoning like McCain is to old or Obama is to young, or worse yet, crazy internet rumors, then this country will continue to go straight down the tubes led by its citizens.

Wow. I'm a visitor to the United States. As someone from the outside looking in I would think that I was reading the comments of a bunch of adults acting like 2 year old children. Where I'm from we hear a lot about racisim in the United States. When I go back home I will be sure to tell my friends and family that racisim is alive and well in the United States. One blogger referred to Mr. Obama as a bolshevik. To call someone a russian communist or an extreme radical is a pretty serious accusation. I myself as well as many others outside the United States have have been watching this election unfold. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that Mr. Obama ran a fairly clean campaign and won, which is something that is not supposed to happen in American politics as I undestand it. Especially against an opponent as strong as Senator Clinton who was projected to be the winner long before this process started. I believe she was up by 20 pts in every state before the campaign started and she also has years of experience and her last name is Clinton. The Clinton name is popular throughout the world. So how could this african american man with the last name Obama possibly steal an election from such a powerful opponent? I'm pretty sure its not because he is a bolshevik. People keep saying that Senator Clinton has the experience to get America out of the mess it's in. How does she have the experience to get America out of its current mess when America has never been in such a mess. Does anybody really have the experience to get America out of its current situation being that it is so unique? Maybe this is why people not only in the US but around the world are turning towards Senator Obama's vision and message of hope and change. After all, hope and change is what he talks about in his book Audacity of Hope and he's never waivered from that.

he can do this. The man is incredibly smart and driven. So I don't see that McCain has an advantage over him.

Now, look at policy. That is where Obama DOES have an advantage over McCain. McCain has bent to the will of the conservative wing and has abandoned his previous "moderate" leanings. We don't need four more years of that.

Character Content Examination, I am a black female who grew up in a black |Methodist church. I never heard of Black Liberation Theology before the Rev. Wright mess, etiher. I also didn't get a free ride f to college. Yes, I had a full academic scholarship, but my grades were good enough to get me into the school of my choice. I also had to work to pay for books, food, and living expenses. I took out loans to attend grad school and worked part-time to cover the rest of my expenses. It was *not* easy.

To hear someone say that my skin color is the reason that I am where I am today is just as insulting to me as it is to you. I hold no grudges against whites as a whole. I don't belive "the man" has kept me down. My family raised me to work hard, and make THEM proud, not to dwell on my struggles or point the finger at someone else.

Please learn that not all people of a certain skin color or ethnicity do NOT hold the same opinions, nor have they shared the same exact experiences. You really do sound like a very angry person, and that is unfortunate.

I wish that Americans who write that Obama destroyed Clinton's campaign would give some examples. In my view, it is a miracle that he has become the presumptive nominee given all the personal attacks from the Clinton campaign, including her husband.

Now i am a Black woman who has attended black churches and i have never even seen or heard black liberation theology being preached. Please don't be fooled. I'm 27 years old and i never even heard of black liberation theology until i saw Fox news reporting on it while attempting to give the impressions that ALL predominately black churches have these type of services. Well, please don't be fooled. As i mentioned before, I am 27 and i have attended predominately black churches my entire life and i have never been to a church that preached about hate!!!

You cannot always believe what people tell you. Based on your comment, you believe that this is something that goes on in ALL black churches. I just don't understand how people can be so gullible. This is exactly what fox news wants people(especially white) to believe.

But one thing you must understand, is that you should judge people on their thoughts, opinions, and beliefs...not on the thoughts, opinions, and beliefs of others(especially people they know). I know and love people who have views that i absolutely do not agree with and i would hate for people to judge me based on the views of others. No, I will not disown these people. I will tell them that i think they are wrong, but I will not disown them. Instead, I try to help them see the error in their way of thinking. Congrats to two great men. I am astonished by all those haters on the "Obama defends Clinton" board. Are Americans really this stupid? Can you really not see that, if he wanted to, Obama could have let it go? Instead he defended someone who never showed him that kind of generosity, even when it hurt the party.

Those of you making these ludicrous generalizations about Obama supporters–grow up. Some Clinton supporters are rude, intolerant (see "Denise" from other board) ignoramuses; some Obama supporters are misogynist, rude, and self-righteous. But obviously there are well-educated, respectful, thinking people in both camps, as well, who understand that one can prefer a given candidate and yet not decide to throw the nation under the bus in retaliation should their preferred candidate not win the nomination. Why is it that CNN lets through the dumbest, most thoughtless, and racist or sexist comments? or is it that this really does represent a fair cross-section of our society? Wouldn't that be sad?

This article is one of the reasons I have switched parties. The outright lies, twisted facts and innuendo about John McCain is worthy of the old school GOP tactics. The democrats have picked up a whole bunch of bad habits from the old school Republicans, such as, not counting votes that people have cast (shades of 2000), throwing their own people under the bus and then praising them after they get their way. Here's a few more reasons why I'm a Democrats of the Old School who's leaving the party:

The logic goes something like this. I'm a democrat from the old school and proud of it. The old school means that we stood for morality, workers rights, family values, equality for all, labor unions rights, fair trade, and a host of other valuable ideology. I have been struggling for years on issues of abortion (choice vs. fetus rights), gay marriage (I don't agree with), and other liberal issues. Up to this year's election, I was ready to continue to agree to disagree on some of these issues but no more!

Let it be completely understood that I, for one, and with many other voices are not leaving the Democratic Party because of some misplaced loyalty to any one candidate, (Hillary Clinton) but because they have been responsible for flushing American values down the toilet in the last 30 years. I can no longer stomach the liberal traitors who have hijacked the Democratic Party.

The liberal Democrats have been responsible for the elimination of several generations of unborn children (genocide), the breakdown of morality in our society by promoting homosexual values and of course the ruin of our children's rights to have a school atmosphere that is fair, functional and non-violent.

You have heard me. Democrat of 30 + years has left the party. I no longer hear you.

Very strong speech and a very strong endorsement. If there is anyone who can state with conviction the power of an election and getting out the vote, it is Al Gore. His experience typifies what 'could have been' and, likely, what should have been.

His support was strong, unequivocable, and clear. His references to past campaigns, past Presidential elections, and the need for change for the future of our country and who best represents that change should be sending shivers down the backs of the Republicans. This was one of the best endorsements speeches I have seen and one of Al Gore's best speeches ever. Had he given something like this while he was running last, he would be President today.

Think about all the endorsements Obama has received versus McCain's. Think about all the energy Obama is generating versus McCain. Think about what could be with Obama versus what will be with McCain.

No contest here. McCain is old news, old hat, ill-prepared, loosing his edge in stamina, and unable to represent the new order eminating from the Obama campaign. The man has no clue how to use a computer for crying out loud. What does that tell you? This is similar to my father as he aged never using anything other than a rotary phone, never using a computer, and never carrying a cell phone.

The story I wanted to respond to has closed for comments, the story of Senator Obama defending Hillary to supporters who booed at a rally, so I'm writing it here.

I read this story and couldn't believe the comments out of the Hillary supporters, calling Obama "commie garbage", "vindictive", "muslim", "unqualified", and more!! REALLY, you people are so bitter that Hillary is not the nominee it's sad. Obama is NONE of these things and if you cared to educate yourselves instead of putting complete and utter blinders on where he's concerned you'd realize it. I've even stumbled across websites set up by her supporters that would shock a normal, decent person with the hate they spew. What causes people to go over the brink like this? Surely it's more than a favored candidate losing a campaign. It speaks to so much more.

As a Canadian enthralled by American elections for the first time in my life (other than the shock I felt when you elected George Bush a second term) I have nothing but respect for Senator Obama. His campaign has been well run and didn't resort to the same type tactics Clinton's campaign did, not at all. As an outsider looking in let me tell you he came across as a visionary and an inspiring leader of exceptional judgement. You could be so lucky to have this man as your president. I wondered many, many times throughout the Primaries why, when Hillary attempted to paint him in the darkest of lights, why he didn't retaliate with the myriad of scandals he could have dredged up and threw at her. He is a man of integrity and ran a clean campaign. He is the better candidate, without a doubt.

With him as your President, maybe for the first time, Americans can travel the Globe and say they are Americans with pride, not pretend to be Canadian when asked. I've personally witnessed that so many times, it's sad.

I think everyone should calm down, Gore was spot on when he said, "This election isn't about changing the past, it's about changing the future,"

Many Hillary supporters act as if not voting for Obama in '08 is somehow going to hurt him and the DNC. The only person you will be hurting is yourself. Not only will you not affect the outcome of the '08 election, you're setting yourself up for more disappointment in '12. Your protest votes aren't going to mean much because you weren't planning to vote for him anyway.

Even if you're angry over the primaries and think that Hillary was the bette candidate choose the lesser of the 2 evils between Obama and Mccain/Bush. Think about the following.
1. Do you want more conservative judges on the court like the one's Bush put on there.
2. Do you want never ending war which is what Mccain/Bush is advocating.
3. Do you really want someone who sees the economy and your suffering as a secondary issue in this electiom.
4. Do you want someone who just 8 years ago stated that Bush was the worst we could elect who now says that Bush is a geat President and that history will treat him kind.
5. Do you want someone who's answer to the oil crisis is to do more drilling when the only long term solution to our problem is to develop other sources of energy and get away from fossil fuels.

I wont vote for Obama period. (Clinton VP or not). It's more of an anti Democratic Party vote than against Obama himself. The Clinton years in the presidency were the best years for most of us in this country in the past 20 years. To have the DNC blow off the Clintons just like that shows no respect or appreciation at all. I value loyalty and this party shows none. Hey DNC – If Hillary's and Obama's stands on the issues are so alike, why did you pick him and not her. You lost my vote in this election, and you probably lost millions like me to the Republican party for years to come.

The democratic primary has been a real eye-opener for me. I have never before witnessed what goes on in predominantly black churches. I had no idea that Black Liberation Theology existed and I certainly had no idea that white people were being ranted against as if there were still Jim Crow laws and "whites only" drinking fountains.

I didn't get a free ride to college – no trust fund, no needs-based grants, no race-based scholarships. I had to work full time and go to school at night to get my degree. I worked my tail off and sacrificed so I could get ahead.

To hear black ministers rant that my color is the reason I'm where I am today is insulting. It is not my color that kept me from getting preggers in high school, it was my mother telling me to focus on getting to college. It is not my color that kept me going so I could get my degree, it was my father telling me how important an education is. It was not my color that made me take jobs that I didn't like, it was a coworker who showed me that working hard, no matter how menial the task, is how you impress your employer, get promoted, and build your resume.

So when I vote in November, I won't be voting "for" anyone. I'll be voting "against" Obama. I cannot condone the election of a person who not only tolerates racism but actively supports it, funds it, and then makes it a spiritual advisor. I believe in sending a message that all people (even white people) deserve to be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character and the fruits of their labors.

It is so pathetic that Al Gore is sucking up to Obama to try to get back into the whitehouse as his VP. He is so concerned about the environment and global warming, but look as his use of private jets, energy consuption at his huge house. He is just like all the hollywood celebs who are so concerned with the environment but refuses to take a regual plane, but hey thats what makes america, america. Free country. Since it is a free country, I urge all who suported Senator Clinton, to urge all her supporters to stick with her and write her name in come election day.

Sen Obama is an OK guy, but his mean hearted supporters will give this election to Sen Mccain over their Hillary bashing.

Gore (or vice-messiah) knows this guy is not even close to JFK. Dream all you want, but JFK would be ashamed of what this party has become. 300 million people in this country and the best we could do is Obama Hussein and McCain? We're in DEEP trouble. Gore spreads this religion of global warming as he jet sets in private planes and uses some compact fluorescent bulbs in his mansion. What a hypocrite.

Al gore? Give me a break. He is the worst thing to happen to America in the last 10 years. His rediculous new life built around erroneous ecological data is mesmerizing the American public the same way Obama's rhetoric is. Please America, don't support this pair of charlatans.

I admit it! I have been accepting money from the McCain campaign to repeatedly post derogatory and divisive messages about the Democractic party on this ticker. If you don't believe me, just look at my post history. Do you think anyone has the time to make hundreds of posts day-in, day-out if they weren't getting paid for it?

But I can't do it anymore. I respect my country and myself too much. I hope my fellow democrats will forgive and embrace me.

But beware...I have repented, but the GOP never will. They will continue to pay others to post as Brian Knoxville TN posing as PUMA democrat seperatists, trying their best to divide our party. Such underhanded tactics are all that they know, and they will continue to use them to full effect.

Before you Hillary supports start going off on how you won't vote for Obama and all you Obama supporters start talking about where you want Hillary and Bill to go, keep this in mind.

CNN wants you guys to fight. They want you to be interested. I wouldn't doubt if they even have bloggers that say things to spark a little fire.

Here's a simple suggestion for all of you. Until September/October, STOP BLOGGING. They (CNN) need viewership online just as much as they do on TV. Maybe your absence will finally make them realize that unless they actually report "real" news and stop trying to insight a riot within Democrats and between Democrats and Republicans, you will no longer read or respond to their garbage.

Yesterday, Al Gore stood in Michigan and said “Take it from me, elections matter.” Well, who better than Michiganders to know that SELECTIONS matter, too?

We watched what happened as a result of George W. Bush being selected president of the United States in 2000, and we’re watching now what is happening as a result of Barack Obama being selected the nominee of the Democratic Party in 2008.

Elections do matter, Al. How many of the Michigan delegates that the undemocratic Democratic party gave to Obama, and how many of the Michigan delegates that the undemocratic Democratic party took from Clinton and gave to Obama, did Senator Obama earn. Not one.

Selections that are imposed on the people do matter. You, Al, should know that better than anyone.

Selected leaders turn into tyrants, plain and simple. Their goal is always to find extralegal means to secure and spread the scope of their power, just like a weed.

History, I mean, Hillary does not have the money to run to the corner store to buy staples, glue and poster board. How is she going to run for an independent bid? The fat lady has sung.
