Seriously, YOU WILL be paying $4 bucks for a long time... in fact, we'll be lucky to get back to that number in the next 2 years...

gas will only go down if....

1) you strip all profits from gasoline per gallon... that's about 10 cents for the oil companies, 19 cents for the government, and 40 cents on average for the states....

2) decrease supply, increase demand, or both... we pay about 65% of the price of gas is directly related to buying it overseas...

STOP BUYING IT AT $140 a barrel and you get cheap gas...

I have a MAJOR problem with people like you that spew out hate like it's a 2 for 1 sale.... all you do is criticize one side and act like the one you are on is righteous...

BULL..... both sides are right and wrong on several issues, but energy is something WE MUST work together.... we must stop regulations on nuclear, coal, and oil... we must invest more in solar, wind, coal to oil, geothermal...

THEY MUST work together, or we pay high prices... for a long time...

Obama mantra: redistribution of wealth, stifle the competitive spirit, overtax companies so they move out of USA

McCain mantra: proportional tax breaks (for everyone!), entice new business to USA (which creates jobs), encourage competitiveness and entrepreneurship.

I personally like McCain's ideas better.

Obama's policies will stifle investment and cripple our economy for good.

Dude... you spew right wing talking ponts that have BEEN PROVEN UNTRUE.
1) you misrepresent Obama's plan. It is not "re-distribution of wealth".. (while a clevely engineered scare phrase, its inaccruate). People who his plan targets...HAVE NO WEALTH.

2) McCains plan is the SAME TIRED FUZZY TRICKLE DOWN THEORY TROTTED OUT AT EACH ELECTION..... and with all branches of goverment for the first six years... the republicans did that... and the companies STILL moved over seas.. AND STUCK A CUP UNDER THE TRICKLE!!!

If you espouse/endorse this plan, you are in the 2% of Americans that make over $250,000 per year. period.

Does anyone know why these wretched people continue to post these nasty blogs about not voting for Senator Obama. Listen people! we don't care; if you are ignorant enough to forfeit your Democratic values in this critical election, who wants your vote anyway. Clearly you people are voting with your emotions and not your logic or your grasp of the issues. Therefore on the eve of having total Democratic power in Washington; meaning a majority Democratic congress and a Democratic President one would have to not actually be a Democrat, or an incredibly stupid Democrat to try and tank their own values out of spite. Posting these lame I will vote McSame arguments only serves to cast doubt on your political intelligence. Please cease in burdening the rest of US happy Dems with your stupidity.

John McCain automatically states that the cause of lowering corporate taxes in Ireland created their boom. But Ireland has allowed anyone who wants to go to college to do so for several years. The cause may have much more to do with a highly educated work force which has been bringing tens of thousands of new high-tech jobs and economic opportunities to the Emerald Isle. India and China have done the same. Where are so many US jobs being offshored to? Coincidence?

I find it hard to believe that big breaks for a few businesses trumps thousands upon thousands of well trained workers who also navigate their way ever more successfully through their job markets.

The question is, if Ireland continues lowering their corporate taxes will they be able to continue this high end education program?

We are excited about making history. We are excited about reviving a country, and a legacy that has been dead for the last 8 years. We are excited about real world solutions to real world problems.

Go Barack, help us take our country back. We will vote for you, and stand behind you all the way. NOTHING will stop us, not McSame, not the GOP tactics, nothing. The American resolve and God are bigger than they are---Whoohoooooo, go Barack. We are with you.

Jeb may think he is going to be president someday, but I say no, he will not. He is as they say, a polecat, who thinks he can pull the wool over this country's eyes, but he can't. He probably wants to be president to redeam his brother's sorry legacy, but there's nothing he can do about that fact.

George is an idiot, and most thinking people are sorry they voted for his sorry ticket. GW stole the first election and he lied to get elected again. I say good. it's good that his legacy is in the trash and no spin will make the American people think otherwise. So Al Gore received an Oscar, and the Nobel Peace Prize, while GW has received the record for being the WORST PRESIDENT IN MODERN HISTORY.

The wealthy have enjoyed the tax code for almost 8 yrs. and we have lost over 400,000 manufacturing jobs in Michigan alone. How can you say that increasing the tax burden on the wealthy will cause job loss? The generous tax code has not saved on job and they re still rich getting richer!!! Can you answer that Ed in NC

Let's see, do I want change or do I want the status quo? Let's see, do I want to continue paying $4. or maybe more for gas, or do I want to take my country back and kick the bums to the curb and do something about our situation? Do I want a president who says he knows NOTHING about the economy, or do I want a president who says he has new ideas to turn the economy around?

This is a no brainer, folks. I don't want McCain because I'm not insane.

The mistake is not giving rich people a tax break, the problem was not adjusting the rate. You can't keep something at a high level and expect things to balance out. When things get out of balance, you have to make adjustments. This Administrative did nothng when they saw things getting out of control. Incidentally, giving rich people tax breaks does not necessarily generate jobs in the economy. Individual tax breaks and business tax breaks are a different breed.

I agree with Obamas $250,000 threshold. I am sort of in the middle on corporate taxes. I am for cutting taxes for those companies who keep jobs here, who don't polute the enviroment etc. and not cutting taxes or penalizing those that do.........obviously, it would be more complicated than that, but thats the gist of it.

McCain has admitted that he doesn't know a thing about economic policy: can we afford that right now? And what's his first big idea? Do what Bush did. Only Obama has the political skill and intelligence to get us out of this mess. McCain would be a disaster.

Yes, they are worlds apart. McCain is wrong and Barack is right. How do I know this? Because McCain is the 3rd term of George Bush and GWB has been wrong on ever thing since he got in office. He will go down in history as the WORST PRESIDENT IN MODERN HISTORY. Need I say more? Okay, I will--we have NOT been attacked since 9/11 because of GWB, but inspite of GWB. I don't trust George and he needs to crawl back to Crawford so that we can revive our country from the multiple heart attacks it has been experiencing since GWB took office.

So who do I want to listen to GWB/McCain or Barack. I think Barack.

I love America and I hate George W.

Worlds apart on Taxes?

That is only the beginning, Gay Marraige, Guns, SSI...etc..etc.
This Election again will be decided on conservative issues.
Obama did not get a bounce from Clinton, and Remember
McCain is well centered, just Like HC.

This pretty incredible-- after all this time to get things sorted out in their minds, the clintonites still don't have a clue. Truly remarkable how checked out this demo is. Talk about Kool-Aiders, these guys got played by Hillary and her strategists like a violin. And this idea of "getting back" by voting for McCain? Emotional, knee-jerk responses are supposed to last a few hours or days, not weeks and weeks. Experience? Clinton? Number 34 in seniority among Senate Democrats? Clinton doesn't even have enough clout to do anything significant in the Senate. She's finished. For good. Over. Done. Anything she accomplishes moving forward will be due to the kindness and graciousness of Mr. Obama and his administration. Maybe Chelsea will have better luck in 2016.

For you PUMA's out there ready to vote to cut off your noses to spite your faces, what do you think about the fact that ten years ago, John McCain had to apologize for telling a Republican audience an extremely crude joke about Hillary, Chelsea and Janet Reno? Do you know about this? Do you care? He certainly didn't care about them then, and I'm doubting that he cares much about them now.

I would like someone to explain to this old lady how the hell we are going to pay off this atrocious obscene dept that Bush 2 got us into.
It looks like everyone should be prepared to bite the bullet and pay. And be prepared to have it last a long time since it is going to take forever if they keep wanting tax cuts for everyone. No money -- no pay,
Then all the people we owe will foreclose on our country.
Now would be a good time to start looking at a flat tax.

TAX questions for the Bush/McCain regime:

1. From each according to their means, to each, according to their need.

2. Or, every man/woman for him/her self.

Which is more like what Jesus would have done?

When does McCain have to get tested for short term memory loss and for incipient Alzheimer's? Why is it supposed to be ok that his 1,300 pages medical memoir is absent one word on Alzheimer's and short term memory loss?
What a sham. Republicans need to bring this up so we are not stuck with Ron Reagan again, with Nancy hiding him for years.

A vote for McCain is a vote for the same rebublican machine that has created the present economic and foreign policy mess, it is becoming obvious McCain is just a puppet.

Off shore drilling, it will take 10 plus years to see benefits, a commitment to alternate and clean sources of energy could easily allow for a far greater impact then off shore will allow.

McCain, you have backtracked on anything that seperated you from the present gong show of a government.

Neither one of these plans is a win-win. Obama promised change, but his plan is change I can live without. McCain is just following the basic Repub principle that has already been a failure. Neither of these candidates has the insightfulness to be innovative and create something different that will work. Corporations need people and people need corporations...so give it some balance. They act like there is only a left way or a right way to remedy our problems. It is just more BS with these two guys.

Taxes: I like Huckabee's plan. End all income tax and go to a combination of federal sales tax and increased inheritance tax.
This will sweep up people who are not paying taxes, including illegal aliens working for cash, tradesmen working for cash and barter, and the offshore fakers who pretend to be from the British islands.
Everyone who buys a product pays a tax.

McCain voted against ALTERNATIVE ENERGY RESEARCH.
Now he wakes up from his long slumber to see that prices are going through the roof. FYI John, it takes five to ten years for an oil company to bring oil in to shore after drilling is approved.
Want a REAL solution that fast and is REALLY a break with Bush?
Only allow cars on the road that are below 30 MPG on even and odd days by their license plate first number. All vanity plates with words are odd number.
Put all trucks that are below 20 MPG on even and odd days.
Stop allowing the sale of SUVs that get less than 20 MPG!!
End of oil shortage. Ta Da!!!!

Some people can't go to college because they can afford it. You should think before you speak. Poor people don't resent the rich. You make more, you pay more.
A CNNmoney headline from Feb. said Exxon made $1300 a SECOND in 2007, when oil was a paltry $65/ barrel- they made over $40 Billion in '07. The price per barrel has since doubled. By very simple math, they'd stand to go over $100 Billion this year while raking in more money per second than most people make in a week.

They also gave their former CEO a $400 million dollar retirement package. That's right almost a half a billion bucks to never work again.

And McCain wants to give THEM a break? Look up the donations by pacs this cycle. Oil companies own the republicans.

Oh, Wolf Blitzer, you are such a lightweight and so easily buy partisan baloney. You will never, ever replace Tim Russert in the hearts and minds of educated Americans. It is your beloved Congress that is resposible for high oil prices, not oil companies, not Bush. Congress has made us dependent on foreign oil by refusing to allow drilling in our homeland and offshore. Congress is promoting worldwide inflation by preventing drilling, and you ain't seen nothing yet. It's just starting. They are even promoting third-world starvation by paying farmers to grow corn for ethanol rather than food. Mr. Blitzer, stop espousing your ridiculous analyses. Nobody is listening. Your ratings prove it. I can't believe I'm even responding, as you are not worth my time or attention.

This is why so many people are against Obama.... he makes it seem this way...

1) I (Obama) lived the American dream

2) It's almost impossible now

3) I blame rich people (even though he is a millionaire in his own right

4) Let's tax the rich and give free handouts to anyone that is not rich

5) Let's tax companies (not just oil) who seem to be making too much money. Those taxes will pay back those that spent too much at their business.

Apparently, it's cool in America to get a handout, which is a big slap in the face to the heartland of America IMO.

There should be a mix of progressive and regressive taxes. Taxes on gasoline is a great example of a regressive tax (virtually, any flat tax can be deemed as regressive).

What is wrong with giving rich people tax breaks? Don't you want them to spend money? That creates jobs for everyone else. I want the rich people to build new houses, that creates construction jobs, maintenance jobs, jobs for brick manufacturers, etc.

I want rich people to buy cars, because this creates jobs for those in Michigan, tire manufacturers, steel manufacturers, etc.

Please think about this people.

I keep reading these blogs about how Obama treated Hillary. What did he do to her? He campaigned against her and won. He was respectful, courteous, and he ran a smarter campaign than she did. In the end she lost, not because of Obama, but because of her mismanaged campaign.

PUMAs need to drop it. Obama didn't do anything to HRC.

If your well off and don't think we are in a recession and gas isn't that expensive, then McCain is your man.

If your living paycheck to paycheck, have to decide between a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk for the kids, have no retirement to lose because well you can't save money you don't have, then Obama is your man.

If I hit the lottery before November, I'll vote for McCain...

I've often wondered how exactly it is that I will be "better off" if the government steals even MORE money out of my paycheck.

And, for the record, I've never once been offered a job by a poor man.

The government does not create jobs, the market does. Tax away the capital to create those jobs and we're all in a pickle. Of course, anyone whose spent five minutes in ECON 101 could tell you that.

Please be advised that there are other bloggers out there posting under my good name and its making me angry. Its causing me to go crazy and make false accusations against Mr. Axelrod that are completely unfounded. Its causing me to still operate under the delusion that somehow Hillary was cheated out of the nomination when we all know that she got beat fair and square. I know that I need to come to grips with my candidate losing the nomination and that I need to support Obama in November.
