From ,

(CNN) — Ellen Malcom, founder of Emily's List and a major Clinton supporter, met with Obama campaign manager David Plouffe at campaign headquarters in Chicago Tuesday.

Malcom, who has warned Obama publicly that he has to do more work to attract blue-collar women, told CNN the meeting included Emily's List Executive Director Ellen Moran and Obama's deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand. She also said it lasted more than an hour, and was "great."

Several weeks ago, Malcolm released an angry statement terming NARAL's decision to endorse Obama over Hillary Clinton "tremendously disrespectful." Less than two weeks ago, she sent an e-mail to supporters in which she spoke positively of Obama, but said she was not quite over her "anger and grief" at Clinton's loss.

"My heart is with you, as I am working through my own emotional turmoil. I fervently believe that this anger and grief will subside, leaving me with a deep sense of pride at what Hillary has accomplished for women," she wrote. "But I have not yet reached that point in my journey, and I know many of you feel the same way."

But last week, Malcolm held a conference call with reporters to make the case that women who backed Clinton's presidential bid, even those angered by the primary race's result, will also support Obama — and that Emily's List will engage in grassroots work to make sure that happens.

In reply to "Come On", what planet you are on?? who was the dirtiest campainer in history? Hillary was. Who started the nasty politics? Hillary did. Are you just a liar as Hilary is? Get a grip. Are you trying to deny the millions of people who voted for Barack? I supported Hillary in the beginning until she started her dirty campaign.

All you Hillary supporters who say they won't vote for Obama - remember in 2012 we will remember that - don't look for us to vote for Hillary if Obama does not win the presidency in 2008, she will not even get the nomination - what goes around comes around. You think about this. You want to change the rules of nomination because Hillary lost - it is not the popular vote that decides the nominee, and if every vote should count, then you will have to include the caucus states that Obama won who was not counted in the popular vote. Are you also suggesting that had Obama's name been on the ballot in Michigan he would not have received even one vote? Why did hillary not care about the Florida dnd Michigan votes to count until she realized that she was being whipped by Obama? Come on so called Hillary supporters, face reality an get over it.

REMEMBER - OBAMA IN 08 or Hilllary does not stand a chance in 2012. We are millions of voters who will turn against her DON'T FORGET HAT - IT'S A PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reality check #1   June 17th, 2008 11:24 pm ET

It's not a point of angry Hillary supporters, it's that many of us although we have been Democrats for years, see through your political knight and just will not vote for him. We are fed up with being force fed a candidate.

Mark   June 17th, 2008 11:23 pm ET

Hey Ralph - your kidding yourself, Obama would anniliate McCain in townhalls or debates, heck at least Mr Obama, knows we are fighting for and against in Iraq, and does not get involved with lobbyist who think rape is funny, and then takes their money anyways, does not call his wife a C**T….won't appoint conservative justies to overturn roe vs wade, does not want to have a 100 year war with Iraq, while going to war with Iran, does not have advisors who worked with the Junta, and to top it all off, does not want to give Hot water bottles to dehydrated babies…

I've said this before and I will say it again to those Hillary feminists that are actually real democrats threatening to vote for McCain and thinking Hillary can win 2012; IF YOU SCREW OBAMA IN THIS ELECTION CYCLE BY VOTING FOR MCSTAIN OUT OF ANGER BECAUSE A WOMAN DID NOT WIN, WE OBAMA SUPPORTERS WILL DO THE SAME THING TO HILLARY IN 2012!!! You keep throwing in our faces that you are 18 million strong with stupid crap like PUMA and Women Against Obama and crap like that, but you really are not thinking past today, Do you HONESTLY think that you can vote for McCain and that Hillary will sail to victory in 2012?!! I mean, COME ON..what goes around comes around. For the rest of your Repugnican retards posing as Hillary supporters, get the hell out of here and don't bother coming back!

Barack hired Patti Solis Doyle, BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT SHE IS CAPABLE AND WILL DO A GREAT JOB! Did you ever stop to think that she was fired wrongfully? Solis Doyle was not the only person fired by Hillary's campaign big wigs, Hillary fired one person after another, and she was STILL left with incompetent managers.

The people Hillary should have fired were MARK PENN, and BILL CLINTON!…… oops I forgot she could not fire Bill he is after all her husband!

I cannot believe that any sincere Hillary supporter would even consider voting for McCain. That makes NO SENSE, people, even if Sen. Obama had treated Hillary badly (and he didn't). If you help McCain into office, you will have blood on your hands–pure and simple–and a Supreme Court shredding what's left of our Constitution.

annie   June 17th, 2008 11:05 pm ET

obaama followed most of Hillary's plans for our country - the big difference is he doesn't know how to produce or put to use those plans without causing major catasrophy in other areas. Hillary is smart and could have accompolished alot . obaama on the other hand cannot come up with a way to work out anything without a HUGE tax increase on everyone! The dnc, biased news media have bought and paid for obaama - let them keep him. Real Americans DON'T want him!

McCAIN 08 - McCain/Clinton ticket would be excellent!!!!

Women Cant Vote for McCain   June 17th, 2008 10:57 pm ET

John McCain voted against equal pay for women. He WILL appoint judges to overturn a woman's right to control her own body. He voted against CHIP to provide healthcare for children. In fact he is against healthcare reform at all. For all you mothers he doesn't think it is "too important" for you to have your sons and daughters back from Iraq anytime soon. EVERY issue women stand for he's against. Just google his voting record and see for yourself. There is no way you could vote for him OR let him get elected. Unless you didn't think you deserve to get paid as much as a man anyway. Women for Obama!!

TJ Williams   June 17th, 2008 10:56 pm ET

People need to remember that a lot of posters that claim to be "HILLARY SUPPORTERS", and not voting for Senator Obama are REALLY Republican plants trying to keep up the division.

Real Hillary supporters are following the direction of their former candidate and helping to elect a Democrat to the Whitehouse.
Senator Clinton is a smart, seasoned politician and she has accepted her loss of the nomination. Now she is moving on to become one of the most powerful women in American politics. She has a lot to offer ans she will need the backing of the full Democratic Party to accomplish her future goals. Any "angry" stragglers are not helping her or their cause by threats of defection to McCain or not voting for Senator Obama. If you really care about Hillary Clinton… you must support her party's nominee.

Montana is Obama Country   June 17th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

Unfortunately the Clinton supporters who say they won't vote for Barack sound rabid…

But I will say as a Barack supporter from the very beginning- I would not have voted for Hillary if she had been the nominee-
So I understand..

But I'm glad I don't have to worry about my choice for America… you on the other hand may want to rethink your choice before supreme court appointees change your childrens future and their quality of life…

Yes…WE…Can… UNIFY…

Scott   June 17th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

In response to Shannon's comments, which are absurd right-wing talking points, and certainly not that of a true Democrat:

1. McCain missed more votes than any other sitting Senator (missing 61% of all votes)–topping even Senator Tim Johnson who suffered a brain hemmorage mid-session (52%). Senator Obama's missed votes were on par with Senator Clinton's (in fact, they were listed consecutively on # of mised votes).

2. I'm glad Obama voted no on Kyle Lieberman, which was widely regarded as the precursor to a blank check to give President Bush the authority to attack Iran. Even Senator Clinton hedged on the vote.

3. Obama voted present 8 times on choice in Illionis to protect his fellow Democratic colleagues in conservative districts. He did so with the approval of (and endorsement by) NARAL Illionois. They approved of the Democrats strategy to vote present, because they knew it was the best way to (a) keep pro-choice legislation on the books, and (b) protect the Democratic majority in Illiois. If you want to compare John McCain's position on choice to Obama's, be my guest. He's rabidly anti-choice and believes that abortion is not acceptable even in the event of rape or incest.

4. The FISA vote is a legitimate policy dispute (Which many Democrats agreed with). I personally see no reason to extend retroactive immunity to the telecoms for violations of wiretapping laws.

————————————————————————————–
No, I would not be so gung ho to join Hillary's campaign. You are right about that, it would take me some time to come around. ——————————Please be aware that most of the nasty commenters on these blogs are actually paid by McCain to stir up trouble within the Democratic party. Yes, his campaign, publicly advertised for people to comment on the blogs.

ed   June 17th, 2008 10:46 pm ET

obama may win over some of clinton supporters but not this one, and it has nothing to do with race, issues, or anything else. its the fact i don't like him or his wife, and the fact that he was in grade school longer then he has been in politics tells me that he has not earned the right to be on the primary ballot, let alone the president of the united states. yes, the country needs change but change comes from things getting done and you obama supporters blew that win you nominated him. so this real dem. will be writing in clinton on the ballot come nov. if i knew more about how to do i-reports and that kind of thing i would be telling all her supporters to do the same thing she would win the big states and beat both mccain and obama and then reel change would happen.

It has really upset me that Hillary didn't get the nomination. I will always believe that she is the best person we need at this time in the White house.
Obama supporters are too judgemental to take a look from Hillary supporters standpoint.
I have been taking a look at McCain and Obama.. my decision on who I will vote has not been made. I am leaning more toward McCain because I don't see Obama as a trust worthy person. As a Christian it would be hard for me to vote for Obama.. as an Proud American that cares about this country I find it hard to believe that Obam can protect this country.

TonyinKentucky   June 17th, 2008 10:41 pm ET

A vote for McCain is a vote for the death of the American dream.

What indicates to you folks that four more years on anywhere near the same path will not severely damage our nation and the very concepts of liberty?

Hillary for McCain people are now logically required to demonstrate how they have similar policies in any way.

If Obama is too inexperienced, then why in the world were you voting for someone with even less time spent in office?

If Obama is too liberal, then how were you going to stomach voting for Hillary who has a nearly identical platform?

If Obama is an empty suit, how does he become magna cum laude at Harvard Law as well as the President of Harvard Law Review?
Even if he is, it would appear his strings would be held by the likes of Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and Joe Biden. That group isn't exactly Rumsfield, Cheney, and Rice. Why in the world would a democrat object to such powers behind the throne?

Why do people compare Obama's experience to W's? Dubbya was a two term Governor of a large state, which is about as much executive experience as you can get?
Plus, he had been an executive in several businesses. Bush was in no way inexperienced. Heck, he's been President for almost eight years and still isn't worth a quarter.

It's also obvious that McCain, Clinton, and Obama all bring exactly ZERO executive/administrative experience to the table, so the argument by definition is a strawman.

Experience is not a substitute for judgment, morality, an even keeled demeanor, or intellect.

Annamica, OH,

What does debating McCain have to do with Clinton supporters? That is a cheap challenge because McCain is not comfortable with the platform debates. Obama will debate McCain when he thinks it's necessary. I don't think he should allow McCain to dictate how he runs his campaign.

Shannon, do you know that McCain is against women rights to choose? do you know that McCain is against equal pay for women? Do you know that McCain is too old and only looking for people to feel sorry for him so he can get elected? Also, do you know that Sen. McCain voted for the war and will continue it for the next 10, 20 or 100 years without any regards to the fact that this was should not have been authorized in the first place. Many senators vote present on things that are right by law, but they don't personally agree with it. That is a way to abide by the law without injecting their own personal feelings into the matter.

Obama will win this fall because he is the best man for the job.

Craig Nazor   June 17th, 2008 10:19 pm ET

No candidate is perfect. I do not agree with any candidate on all issues. But like it or not, only one of two candidates is going to win. What are the most important issues? We need to stop global climate change now - Obama is for carbon cap and trade, the only method that will work in time, McCain is not. We need to get out of Iraq ASAP - Obama will do that faster than McCain. We need to change our energy policy - McCain wants to increase oil drilling - Obama wants to invest in more efficient technologies. McCain is for torture (after being against it), and Obama is against torture (American citizen or not - if it is a living, sentient being, it is torture). These issues are all far more important than man or woman, black or white, gay or straight, flag pins, cranky sermons, or any number of countless other distractions. So make your choice. But be careful - you will have to live in the world that you help create by your decision. "Selecting" and then re-electing Bush made America look like a whole country of "idiots"!

I guess people are too busy listening to Limbaugh and Hannidy to turn their attention towards anything else. For the love of God, stop accusing Obama of being all fluff and no stuff! The real difference between a Republican and a Democrat is how honest they are; Republicans never want to admit they are wrong, and when Democrats do, they get all the flak from Republicans who press them on it. Idiotic arguments about Hillary this and Hillary that are a joke. Hillary is not a fool. She knows this country will be much better off with Obama than with McCain. Give her some credit.

If you can't get your prejudice and hatred out of your mind, at least try to redirect it for a while. The Bush / Cheney administration has castrated the constitution and turned individual rights into an empty promise. Those of you who claim to love this country should recognize that McCain, like ole George, is just another tool to be used by Cheney's fascist friends. Bush and Cheney and Rove should be tried for war crimes. Congress, both dems and repugs, have failed the people of this country by allowing this administration to all but destroy America's promise. McCain will tow the same line. Count on it. I whole heartedly agree that we need to elect a woman president.
But this woman must be a self-made leader on her own merit.
Hillary Clinton isn't the one.

Being the right gender isn't the only qualification we are seeking for the Oval Office. Presidency is a serious job that impacts millions or even billions of people world-wide. I welcome a woman president, but she must be qualified and Hillary isn't so she is defeated by Obama.

I personally would choose Nancy Pelosi or Conde Rice over Hillary Clinton, because they are self-made leaders and they are trustworthy.

First of all Obama supporters are as much of a cult as the HRC supporters are. Second of all, she lost, get over it. Third of all, you all forget that, while obama was "demonizing" HRC, Hillary wasn't exactly inviting him over for tea and crumpets. Fourth, what are you talking about not doing anything to win over Clinton supporters. What do you want him to do, bow down to you and kiss your feet? Fifth of all, can you Shannon, without looking it up, tell me what HRC voted for? Didn't think so. Lastly, Obama can't win over blue collar workers because they couldn't tell a great president from a bad one if he knocked on their door. Look who they picked in the last two elections! And we're not arrogant, you're the ones that won't give Obama a chance because your favorite lost.

God forbid that Obama should become the next president, the US public needs to CLOSELY watch the congressional appropriations bills. Without a doubt, there will be substantial increases in earmarks destined for New York. This is part of the price that "your believe in change" candidate will usher in. This is a good start for her, it shows her to be bigger person than she once was.

It amazes me how some of the people in this audience say they are not racist, I and many others know better. They might say they are not antisemitic and that I might not know until they open their mouth and their real personality pop out either by speaking or by writing something their opinion or even speaking about the subject. The worst thing about is they have the unmitigated gall to stand up and say they are sorry and even that we know they are also not being truthful about for we know in fact that they without a shadow of a doub that they mean precisely what they want to say. Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has not hid it that he is a black am. Maybe many steretypical voters, Democrat and Republican finds it hard to believe a Black man could be so eloquent and more importantly loved by so many. Personally, I always believe that the power of the All Might God rules in the affairs of men. And it this is His intervention, it does not matter when the hatred the racist attack, he will prevail. Scare are will not go even after the wounds are healed but there are times, a whole lot of time to nurture to wound to make it whole… That is what we need to do as a people rather than to continue living a life of hate simply because of the color of one's skin.

Diann   June 17th, 2008 9:27 pm ET

I feel exactly the same way. Also I am very distrustful of the Obama team. Actually I am surprised that Ellen Malcom met with them at all. i certainly am not ready to. The only thing that will give this campaign any credibility at all will be their choice for Vice presidential candidate. I will wait to see how experienced and qualified that pick is before I make any decision to support them. Actually the same thing goes for Senator McCain.

Zach from IL   June 17th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

You know what, I would no way in HELL vote for John McCain. I didn't like what Clinton did at all during the primary process, I thought she ran a dirty campaign, but I would NEVER as a Democrat vote for McCain if Obama didn't get the nod.

Sheesh.

Lee   June 17th, 2008 9:20 pm ET

I'm a Hillary Clinton supporter who is very upset over how the DNC high jacked the primary for Obama. I understand why Hillary, for political purposes, finally had to not only throw in the towel, but ultimately support Obama … but, that doesn't mean those of us who supported Hillary now have to support Obama. Unlike Hillary, many of us who supported her, do not like Obama, and refuse to put the DNC above our loyalty to the U.S.A. … therefore I intend to vote for Senator John McCain in November.

Take all the time you want, Jan. Senator Obama has spent most of his life with women. He is conscious of and understands the ways of women.
Just be sure to do the right thing by November. lol

The more you know about McCain's disrespect towards his WIVES, the more women should want to run away from him.

Ann from Iowa   June 17th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

We have a nominee. He was a little unsure of the playinfield, at first, because this was a new venture. Thanks to Sen. Clinton, he is a much stronger nominee than he first appeared to be while on stage with Sen. Edwards. He started in Iowa. I thought he was a winner then, and I am more certaan now that he has the knowledge and support to be a better President than we have had for the past 8 years. Bill Clinton made mistakes. Hillary would not have gotten as far as she did had it not been for the stumpinf and support of Bill. 19 years as asn organizer and time in the Senate seems to have left Barack quite capable of bringing people together. GIVE HIM A CHANCE.
No president is 100% in completing what is begun. It first takes time to clean House of all that has gone before. Lets all be loyal party Dems and work for the good of the party. It all started in Iowa and has not stopped since.
Do we want someond debt free going into office or one who owes debts all across the country to be the Candidate of Change in the White Houlse?

Logic, plain and simple. Regarding womens issues Obama is the only logical choice. McCain wants to regress back to the 50's. Women are too astute to fall for McCains schtick on issues - not just womens issues but his overall platform (if you can call it that.)

"We Clinton supporters need some time. I'll ask one simple question. If Obama had lost, would you all be so gung ho to join Hillary's campaign?"

Hi Jan, this is Mia here. My husband Mike posted earlier. I just wanted to respond to you and honestly tell you that I KNOW I would have a hard time being gung-ho about having to join the Hillary campaign if Obama lost. I would be disappointed and heartbroken. I would need time to deal with everything and would not be in the best of spirits to vote for the person who brought down my chosen candidate. I really appreciate your sincere questioning and just wanted to let you know my honest answer. Thank you for taking things back a step and putting things in better perspective. I hope that all Democrat supporters of both candidates can have better introspection from your email. I hope that all of us, supporters of both Hillary and Barack, can figure out a win-win solution to all of the hurt feelings. I hope that we can all embrace each other and not continue to rub each other the wrong way. Thank you for your post.

RJ, CA   June 17th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

TOO LATE!

Had it been a Clinton/Obama ticket, I would have voted Democrat, as I have for more than 30 years. I would have done this because:

1) Hillary has the knowledge and experience RIGHT NOW to tackle the huge problems our country faces (and, yes, with her husband, Bill Clinton — who gave this country its best 8 years in recent history — at her side). (Consider who is at Senator Obama's "side.")
2) Obama is truly an inspirational guy, but "inspiration" doesn't pay the bills — in fact, if often multiplies the bills, because "inspiration" must be tempered with "wisdom," which is honed through EXPERIENCE. (Who do you go to when your life gets really "tough" and "confusing"? Your parents, I bet, because they have EXPERIENCE!
3) If Obama had spent 4-8 years watching and learning from Hillary Clinton, he would have the credibility and experience to actually implement his "change" rhetoric.
4) Basically, Obama only has national experience since 2005, when he was elected to the U.S. Senate (and most of 2007 and 2008 he was engaged in his presidential campaign).
5) Hillary Clinton has been in the Senate since 2000.
6) Hillary has been on the "national" scene since 1993, when Bill Clinton was elected president. ( Does anyone really doubt that SHE was the inspiration for her husband's highly successful 8 years in the presidency? I don't for a moment.)
8) The national call for universal health care was HERS — NOT Obama's.

So to sum it up for me, EXPERIENCE IS EVERYTHING! That is why I will now vote for John McCain — the ONLY candidate now left with genuine experience.

.

PumaontheRocks   June 17th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

For a guy that says he wants change, he sure is spending a lot of time with Clinton supporters and working hard on getting her supporters to vote for him.
I see no difference between Obama any other democrats. Obama will not bring a nation together and heal all that is broke.
He is NOT God. He is just a man that speaks well.

Inspire?? Yes he inspired me to stand up and fight. I don't want Obama anywhere near the White House or my pocket book!!!

PUMA Democrat!!

Ambrose Smith, Borrego Springs, California   June 17th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

Question to those Hillary backers who refuse to vote for Obama:

Will you be attending rallies for your new man John McCain? And if so, do you think you will leave the rally still wanting to vote for McCain?

Will you be contributing to his campaign and trying to get others to vote for him?

Yeah–I am sure Hillary wants you to do EXACTLY THAT! (sarcasm)

Ron   June 17th, 2008 9:01 pm ET

Clinton supporters need get over their emotions and decide to vote for the same reasons were voting for Hillary.

Bring our troops home and long term care for them
Ammend NAFTA
Healthcare reform
Create jobs
Make college affordable

These are all issues that Sen. Obama considers important. A vote for McCain would be childish and irresponsible to the American people and our nations furture.

Lilarose, you've got it all wrong. Doyle did not quit. She was fired. Are you suggesting she cannot work for anyone but the person who fired her?

It is noticeable how much and how extended the grief of the Hillary loss
is for so many. And the anger phase is lasting so long. The blaming goes on and on. Fortunately, we are a nation with rights, including having a national political party that regulates elections to prevent chaos.
Thus, the DNC did not give the nomination to Obama. He would have won, regardless of their action.

Ann   June 17th, 2008 8:59 pm ET

Some people are like horses wearing blinders and can only see directly in front.

Go ahead and vote for McCain and see who suffer the most. Roe v. Wade gone with the wind and all the progress women made over the years gone as well.

Your hate will finally do you in and place you all 50 years in the past. See what happen in 2000 & 2004? Go ahead and do a repeat!

I call your anger ignorance and stupidity. Have fun while you are pulling the lever.

Mia and Mike   June 17th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

Well said American Blue!! The following are our sentiments exactly and deserve to be repeated:

"Does anyone know why these wretched people continue to post these nasty blogs about not voting for Senator Obama. Listen people! we don't care; if you are ignorant enough to forfeit your Democratic values in this critical election, who wants your vote anyway. Clearly you people are voting with your emotions and not your logic or your grasp of the issues. Therefore on the eve of having total Democratic power in Washington; meaning a majority Democratic congress and a Democratic President one would have to not actually be a Democrat, or an incredibly stupid Democrat to try and tank their own values out of spite. Posting these lame I will vote McSame arguments only serves to cast doubt on your political intelligence. Please cease in burdening the rest of US happy Dems with your stupidity."
_____________________________________________________

If you are a Democrat that does not want to vote for Barack Obama in November, that is your right. We certainly hope that is not what you choose to do in the end, but if so, we will still respect you. However, enough already with your constant exclaims of not voting for him on these blogs. We get it loud and clear: you do not like him and don't plan on voting for him. Again, this is your right, but give it a rest. Those of us who plan to stand firm to our beliefs and convictions of the Democratic Party would like to move on. How about you just become a die-hard McCain supporter and claim your Republican status. I have a helluva lot more respect for Republicans who come out to defend their candidate than I do for Democrats who only chose to bad-mouth our nominee.

M.Jones   June 17th, 2008 8:55 pm ET

Please note that Emily's LIst gives money only to women candidates.

So the gentleman writing above who claims to have been a long time supporter, along with his wife, of Emily's List, is obviously faking it when he says he won't contribute to Emily's List if they support Barack Obama. How do I know? I am a long term supporter of Emily's List - which has almost single handedly helped women around the country raise early money for their political campaigns. That's why we now have more than 10% women in the House and the Senate whereas we had practically none before 1992.

I supported Barack Obama in the primary and I think he is by far the best candidate for women's issues, national security, the economy, education, constitutional rights, and growing opportunities for the work force of America. He also believes in strong support for the military. People who say we don't know any thing about him haven't even bothered to google his record, or even to look at his 8 years of service in the State Senate of Illinois, or read his two books, or the many articles written about him by people who have known him a long time.

So the Fox pundits who say otherwise haven't done their homework once more - or are they deliberately misleading the public?

Incidently, people who work at Emily's List may support Barack Obama as individuals - but the organization gives their limited financial resources only to women. But obviously, their email and mailing lists are very valuable to Barack Obama's campaign in reaching out to women voters. Because Emily's List is literally the women who for many years ( as well as recent additions) have put their money where their mouths were - as true supporters of women in America.

Incidently, Emily stands for Early Money Is Like Yeast - let's help the bread rise in the kitchen! And there are lot's of great women candidates for other offices besides the presidency which need support in November.

So many republicans posers on here it makes me want to move on to another place for news.

I've been to the PUMA Site (Know thy enemies) and I believe it is a Republican swift boat like site meant to lure in people.

Hillary Clinton did a great job of running for president, but there can only be one winner. Because of a great candidate and a great team, Barack Obama won. Republicans are furious because they know more about Hillary than Barack and can dish more dirt out. So they are working to get her on as Vice President candidate. I like Hillary, but I don't think she is the best candidate because she doesn't balance the ticket as well as a strong foreign policy person like Nunn or Richardson. Some depth in foreign policy would be great to see.

The republicans posers on here (NOTICE A FEW ONLY WORK IN CAPS BECAUSE THEY CAN"T FIND THE CAP LOCK KEY) show the big difference in candidates. I can argue why John McCain shouldn't be President, but I don't have to resort to name calling, innuendos or pose as a Democrat to make my arguments.

Its so easy for people to say get over it when they are on the winning end. I bet there would be cries of racisim and favoritism and all sorts of things if Barack had lost, so give hillary supporters some time. I also am sick and tired of people saying she should have left early there was no need to continue the primaries. What kind of lesson is that when the going get rough you just give up? I ran a race one time it was between me and another girl and my mother was watching the other girl won I stopped when she crossed the finish line I never finsished it, My mom shook her head and I thought she was mad at me cause I lost and she said I am not mad that you didnt win I am mad you didnt finish what you started. It was hillary's right to finish what she started.

Vig   June 17th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

Look, there doesn't have to be a blanket endorsement of the lesser qualified candidate, Obama - people need to know you can write in Hillary Clinton as your choice for President on the November ballot and that's exactly what millions of her supporters will be doing. Hillary for President!

Annamica, OH   June 17th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

Obama is an idiot. He is doing NOTHING to win over Clinton supporters. He is sitll pandering to his own supporters. Start acting like a man Obama, and agree to some debates with McCain. We want to see town halls. We already know you're inexperienced. Show us something that makes you worthy to be president other than stump speeches. People are tired of hearing your story of "hope"and change". Start talking about what you're going to do!

For all those Clinton Supporters who now say they will vote for McCain. Do it! Have it your way!
If you could step back and think about the implication of that single act then maybe you'd think again before you make that choice. Think of where America is today and how things have changed so drastically for the worse in the last 8 years. Isn't it time to say ENOUGH!! We deserve better. The world is changing, a new generation has come, the face of leadership is changing. Get on the bandwagon, or get out of the way.

AT, do you have a clue, or do you just make stuff up as you go along, I'll put my knowledge of politics up against yours any day of the week. I bet you couldn't tell me how Obama voted on anything. Did you know he voted for the Cheney Energy Bill, did you know he was a no show on FISA, did you know that he missed 42% of his votes in the senate. Did you know he voted present eight times on women's right to choose issues. He was a no show on Kyle Lieberman, he voted for the gas tax holiday while in the IL Senate. Please don't lecture me or any other woman on being bitter. I vote because I agree or disagree with a candidate. Obama doesn't represent me, and his arrogant name calling supporters couldn't be a bigger turnoff. Politics of hope and change, god that's funny!

Why all this crap about Obama not being ready to be comander and chief of the armed forces. Name me one president in history with the exception of Eisenhower who was fully capable of being comander and chief. Presedents relie on advice from top notch generals when they make any decision relating to the defense of the U.S.
Only one president has taken it upon himself to command without carefull advice from the men who really are in position to know the true situation. That man was George Bush! Look what that commander and chief has done to our country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clinton and her supporters are being forced to support Obama. The media is already saying that Clinton will be responsible if Obama loses, They are starting to test the story that she didn't campaign hard enough for him, therefore his loss will be her fault. Tell me, when is Mr Obama responsible for anything he does. I could never support this man, he's already flip flopping on getting our troops out of Iraq. This man will say and do anything to be elected.

We have the opportunity to accomplish great things within the next couple of months but I see this train wreck about to happen. Folks we should be looking towards the new democratic horizon that's preparing to dawn as a united party. Instead I see political back biting within the party because of an implied suggestion (THEY WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA.)

I hate to say it, but it appears the rhetoric was taken to heart. Instead of looking at current situation with biased eyes, we need to look at what's best for the nation. Believe me what's best for the nation is not MCCAIN.

In answer to your question, If Obama had lost the nomination, I would have supported the democratic nominee. I am a democrat at heart. and both Clinton and Obama agreed upon 95% of the issues. Regardless of who gets in the office, I will be ok. But there are millions of families who will not be ok. Those are the people that I support.

Michael, Lorain Ohio   June 17th, 2008 8:41 pm ET

You clearly are mis-informed about Patti Solis Doyle. You see, Ms Doyle, has never had campaign management expirience before this election. But Clinton, in her finite wisdom, choose to go with someone who was loyal rather than someone with prior expirience. To blame Doyle entirely for HRC's demise is truely insulting of epic proportions.

Oh and to the people still whining about MI and FL compromise: The GOP are doing the exact same thing that the DNC is by only counting half the delegates. So by voting for either party, you are still only getting half the vote regardless. Please explain why no punishment should have been handed out and furthermore, why you never whined about it when the rules were set before the primaries began.

We've GOT to focus on the bigger picture - and NARAL was able to look at the numbers objectively and say, "You know what, Obama's on our side and it appears he'll be the nominee…" where others were operating under loyalist pre-tenses!

We HAVE to keep McCain from getting to appoint Supreme Court justices = That's Priority #1 and it trumps all else!!!

Oh, and unless you're making over $250,000 per year I wouldn't be concerned about your taxes under Obama BJ - your accountant is DEAD wrong!

M.Jones   June 17th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

It's time to move forward and get behind Barack Obama. The country cannot stand 4 more years of disastrous Republican politicies.

Hillary Clinton and her supporters will do the right thing. Hillary made a gracious speech in support of Barack. She had nothing but good things to say about Patti Solis Doyle. Implications by the press that they are not speaking are absurd. I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary didn't recommend Patti Solis Doyle to Barack Obama.

What about the Hillary spokesman who has gone to work for Fox news? Now there is a suspect character!

Women support each other and play fair. I don't know who is writing in blogs which part of the Democratic party against others - but I suspect that it is not Democrats! Don't fall for the ruse, fellow Democrats. Stand together and have a little faith! We must and will pull together to win in November!

Women - and men - who want national security, a healthy economy, good education, and fair justice for all will vote for Barack Obama in November.

Hillary Clinton set new records in raising money, demonstrated again and again that women can be as tough as they need to be without giving up their femininity, and made it easier for all future women candidates to run. She inspired many women who had never been politically active before - and many men - to become politically active. She has a long and successful political career ahead of her and is still relatively young - especially given that women age more slowly than men! Fact!

The ability of women to run for office and be taken seriously by the main street media has forever been improved by Hillary Clinton's campaign. We have not seen the last of her, and she will be even stronger in the future.

So let's let by-gones be by-gones. We must make peace with each other, support our Democratic candidate, and take on the horrible smear campaign being waged against Barack Obama by John McCain and the Republican hate mongerers.

It sounds like you have your own self-esteem problem. Just because Senator Obama have the confidence to believe that he can be President of the US. I think that speak volume for his confidence level. Sometimes in life, you have to step out on faith, regardless of what other people might think about you. If you really want to make a difference in this election, regardless of who you will be voting for in November, try findng out how your state and district reps have been voting in the past. If they are not voting your interests, you need to try booting them out. All this gridlock in Washington happens because we have reps not voting our interest. If we start putting pressure on these reps, we will get the results we seek.

Karen, foreigners ARE entitled to trial. If an American was detained in the Middle East and accused of being a terrorist, what would you think then about them not receiving a fair trial? It's easy to make accusations like that when the shoe is on the other foot.

As far as Obama hiring Doyle, how do any of you know whether or not he has discussed this with Clinton? For all we know, he could have. Doyle has been in negotiations with the Obama campaign for months. Besides, I think that the inside men in the Clinton campaign pushed Doyle out after she had done her job of winning the Hispanic vote. The woman still has to work.

The well being of our country is a far greater cause than supporting any one political candidate. I am an Obama supporter and have supported him since Iowa. It was a painful decision for me to make because I am a woman and would so very much love to see a woman in the white house and, though I did become frustrated with some of the dirty politics that went on from the Clinton side, I still admire Hillary. I chose Obama because he inspires me in a way that other candidates can never done. I'm not the type to fall for "cult of personality" types. I've done my research and there is is substance behind the eloquent words. I am inspired by Barack Obama's pledge to shed light onto the way politics is run in Washington. Far from being a tax-and-spend liberal, he seems to understand that we need a balanced budget and his plans will not to continue the tax-break and spend fiasco of the Bush-Cheney years.

We all want a better future and world for our children. Obama loves his two daughters. Their home is his hope! He will make the country better for women and men.

A Quick Impression Of People From The Lame Puma Pac . . . . Waaaaa! My Candidate Lost! So Now I Will Vote For Someone With The Exact Opposite Views! Waaaaaaa!

B. Churchill   June 17th, 2008 8:20 pm ET

It's a long road 'til November, but the Obama momentum is building. Haters and knaves just make themselves look foolish. The kind of change we Obama supporters demand isn't a fashion statement or trend; we know the fate of the nation we love depends on it.

If you love this country, put your shoulder to the wheel and push!

If you want to see it on the scrapheap of history, keep doing things the way you have.

It's that simple.

NoMcSame   June 17th, 2008 8:19 pm ET

Some say Obama will tax them to death, well I say to them McSame will surly put your kids to death by sending them to Iraq. Pick your poison.
Obama08 With or without you.

Shannon   June 17th, 2008 8:18 pm ET

As a Hillary Supporter I will proudly support Senator Obama!!! I am sorry so many of her other supporters could care less about the policies and positions that she supported. While they are willing to spit on her life's work. I truly believe in the causes and I know that Senator Obama will represent them. Whereas, McCain has voted against every woman's issue put before him. Obama 08′

Rhea   June 17th, 2008 8:16 pm ET

Jan, Yes I would , because I am not voting with my emotions, or because shes a woman, or because he is black or biracial like most of you HRC supporters are. HRC and Obama has basically the same policies. I do not want and the country does not need another republican in office.

BJ, He did not steal anything from Hillary. She did it to herself, please explain to us Obama supporters how did he steal the presidency from Hillary……please tell us, because we do not understand what your talking about……do you understand what your talking about?

YES HE CAN !!!!   June 17th, 2008 8:15 pm ET

Jackie…………….. I'm with you Malcolm. Keep it on. Obama can't win the Blue Collar workers. Hillary 2012…………….YES he CAN !!!!!.

Dave   June 17th, 2008 8:15 pm ET

I think Emily Malcolm, and poster Jan are right. When you really pour your heart into a campaign and come up short, it is disappointing and takes time to recover your political bearings. I worked like crazy for Kerry in 2004 and was depressed for weeks after the elections. Now, however, I'm just mad as hell at the republican party for trashing the country I love. At the end of the day, I think the vast majority of Hillary's supporters will vote for Obama. The one thing that won't help is to demand Hillary supporters "get over it" on some specific timetable. The best thing to do is let the supporters know they are welcome to help out at anytime in anyway. If that is too much, then their vote in November will be just fine.

diane canada   June 17th, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Indiana Bob, Obama did not "demonize" Hillary Clinton, not once. Where have you been during these primaries?
His supporters, and hers, have collectively "demonized" each others candidates, but it was only one group of supporters who had a role model for in their own candidate and it wasn't Obama's group.

Ralph   June 17th, 2008 8:10 pm ET

AT June 17th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

women who backed Clinton's presidential bid, even those angered by the primary race's result, will also support Obama . Get over it! I sense that those who are most Angry are the ones who don't ever get involved in Politics. the CHANGE we need and seek is for those ANGERED to get involved, had they rise up against G.W.in 2000 or 2004, they wouldn't feel so BITTER and ANGRY today!

UNITE AMERICA or remain BITTER, YOU CHOOSE THE CHANGE U DESERVE! OBAMA-CHANGE ALL THE WAY

Lilarose…………………………………Ms. Malcom, I too am not over Hillary's loss, and with Obama's hiring of Patti Solis Doyle, he isn't gettin my vote.Obama: You need to un-hire Doyle NOW……………GET OVER IT …………YOU are selfish and you are not in charge of making decisions …………keep your selfish VOTE !!!!!!!

Mike, Syracuse, NY   June 17th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

American Blue, Hillary Supporters who vote for McCain may not be 'Democrats' by your standards, but they are Americans by mine. So you can stay a happy partisan while HRC's supporters tip the balance in McCain's favor. Just maybe these Hillary supporters aren't being emotional and realize we should have a President with more than 5 minutes of relevant experience. It's the Obama supporters who are defying logic to emotionally vote for a good stump speach with no substance behind it.

Robert from Washington   June 17th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

Wow, judging from the Clinton bitter enders, you'd think the Clintons were angels in the primary and never said a harsh thing about Sen. Obama. I distinctly remember Sen. Clinton ranking Obama — FELLOW DEMOCRAT! — below McCain, saying all Obama had to offer was a speech. You think that's not an ugly, demeaning, below-the-belt remark, bitter enders? When Sen. Clinton did that, she lost my vote and my support.

Can we unite please!   June 17th, 2008 8:03 pm ET

Jan, I can't answer that question. I am just upset that since Hillary lost, you guys have been so nasty. I just hope we can UNITE and not be so apart. We need to stop the Republican machine and stop falling for the fake Hillary supporters who are telling women to vote for McCain. I think women know when phony Hillary supporters are really McCain supporters and are trying to win the real Hillary supporters away. Lets win our Government back.

Margaret   June 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

To Jan, yes, if Clinton had won fair & square (like Obama did) I would be supporting her as strongly as I support Obama.

It's a shame that some of these women obviously supported Clinton only because she's a woman rather than on the issues she feels so strongly about and which she knows that Obama shares the same views on almost all the issues.

It's also a shame that during the primaries the Clinton supporters spread so many untrue rumours about Obama that her supporters still believe them. I know many won't admit it, but some of the things that Clinton said during the primaries is really hurting Obama as the RNC is now using what she said against him.

Real Democrat   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Jackie, I'm a blue collar worker and so is the rest of my large family

We all support Obama.

Any blue collar worker who supports McCain better hope Wal-Mart and McDonalds is hiring cause that's where we'll all be working should we elect McCain.

texan   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Where's My Popcorn   June 17th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

So what number are we up to now on all the conspiracies being perpetrated against poor defenseless victimized Hillary "Just A Gal Trying To Get Somewhere In A Man's World" Clinton? Has to be up into the hundreds don't you think?

So at last count more or less it was Obama, sexism, media bias, Obama supporters, DNC, Michelle Obama, the DNC, caucas states, Mercury in retrograde, natural disasters, Keith Olbermann, AA's, liberals, latte drinkers, Prius drivers, global warming, super delegates, The Huffington post, SNL, a shoulder brush, etc. and now the hiring of someone she fired, one Ms. Patti Solis-Doyle's fault for yet another injustice being done to poor HIllary. Hahahaha

Injustice is what is happening in Maynamar, Dufar, etc. Conspiracies are what took our jobs to China and India and now have us paying through the nose for their over-inflated oil consumption as their economies thrive and ours goes down the toilet. Women's rights are being violated in just about every 3rd world country on the planet and yet people are throwing hissy's trying to make one more thing about Hillary which it isn't? It would all be truly sad if it wasn't so pathetically funny.

Mark Anthony -   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

I agree it's time for healing and I understand that many Hillary supporters are upset at the outcome but consider a McCain administation. I'm sure my mom isn't the only one who had son's that were eligible for the war in Iraq.

Ask yourself this questions. Do you want your son or daughter in Iraq? Do you want to continue to pay high gas prices? Do you enjoy the state of the economy? If so McCain all the way!!!!

True Dem!!!!

Texas for Obama   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

All the women who are still angry that Hillary lost needs to get over it!
Obama won thats the end of the story. She should have, could have and what if's are now in the past.

I am sure many people are tired of all of those who are still crying because she lost. These people are all hating on Obama and the remarks on these blogs are so rude and ignorant, The man won fair and square. It sometimes seems like little children are pouting on this blog. Everyone needs to grow up and realize there is a change coming to America,

I am so tired of the same Washington players singing the same song over and over and doing nothing. Take a good look at the state of our economy. John McCain has been in the U. S. Senate for many years, and he has done not-A-thing. So stop hating on Obama, and give the man a chance. I myself am tired of the old school players. We need change BIG TIME! Go Obama, Yes We Can! Those of you who want to go broke, and see your grandchildren go off to war, vote for McCain.

Fredrick-London   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

Mc.Bush who's on DLA (Pension) What a shame!!!! He & his Muilt-millioner-Ciddie, Shouldnt pocket that when there Millions going to bed with-out..!!!!!!!

Angela   June 17th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Hello Obama supporters- if the roles were reversed you would also feel anger , grief, etc- so we are trying to get over it- but that doesn't mean that it never happened!

You want Clinton and her supporters to be gracious well how about a little of that from Obama and his supporters.

Also, accept the fact that Obama needs "us" to win in Nov. Try not to get " too full of yourselves." McCain seems willing to work for our vote- Is Obama??

And yes, put Hillary on the ticket- again if the roles were reversed all the Obama supporters would demand he be the VP .

Tjaye in LA   June 17th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

I think this women and women like her belittle our vote when they insist that we vote based on gender over issues.

KF   June 17th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the sexist comments that have been made regarding this
