Obviously the problem is in the way in which the Clintons closed out their campaign. Anyone watching or listening could read between the lines. There was no true endorsement of Obama. The first set of questions had almost similar results, indicating a prospective voters preference of Democrat vs Republican.

So now that it is only Obama vs McCain, we should expect the same polling numbers.

People should be more critical of the news. The same should go with their government and elected officials. Trust but verify.

I still don't understand what the Hillary Clinton supporters are upset about. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter. While I think she's a great candidate or rather was a great candidate I think she lost focus on how to play the game. I really think they thought they could take the machine that got Bill Clinton into power and simply switcharoo him with Hillary. I really wish she would have dismantled the machine and ran on her own merrits with her own people- people who understand who she is and what she represents- people who would take orders from her instead of trying to decide what she'd do. She would have been able to break with the Clinton scandals of the past and reintroduced herself. She would have found her message and voice and won easily. But as things turned out I believe she turned on her principles. Once that happened I began to fear what she represented. Obama is now standing in to fight for the things she would fight for. McCain has already surrendered his principles- he's caved to the right. If any person thought they were a Clinton supporter and could vote for McCain you're not thinking clearly. They stand on other ends of the spectrum.

Why does no one ever mention rasmussen reports which actually has more comprehensive data than any other source I know. They are the only other source I know of that does daily tracking and they also regularly track each state. It's the most polling information you can get from any one source.

The problem with the poll of polls is the timing. Gallup itself said there was about a 5point bounce for Obama after Clinton Conceded. If I remember correctly, Obama and McCain were see sawing for a while. A couple of days after Hillary conceded, Obama went up by 7 but his lead has since come down a few notches. The Poll of Poll usually comes out long after the events happen. Hillary conceded on June 7th and this Poll of Polls shows data from a week later. It's not true in this case but the Poll of polls tends to average polls that happen at different time. For example, the 7 point Gallup lead never showed up because at that time, the Poll of polls was averaging it with data from Polls that happened BEFORE the concession. I think CNN should just stick to the individual polls.

Today's polls really mean very little as they do not sample people without land line phones and really are not big enough to be anywhere accurate. A poll of polls is really just a compilation of all of the inaccuracies in each and means even less.

Remember that in the primaries, Senator Obama consistantly started behind in the 'general polls' and usually managed to pick up anywhere from 5% to 20% by the time the election was held.
