Here's another chink in the Obama armor – he reacts. Anyone can react to someone else's blunders and failures and present a better plan, attack it, criticize it – after the fact. As I said before, Obama belongs in a university giving lectures – which he likes to do – instead of being leader of the free world. Hillary will get my write-in in November.

Canada's role in the invasion of Afghanistan, has produced the largest number of fatal casualties for any single Canadian military mission since the 25th Canadian Brigade served in the Korean War. In 2003, Canada chose not to join the United States' "Coalition of the willing" during the invasion of Iraq. The Canadian government looked at the evidence Washington presented and voted its conscience. Bravo, guess we agreed with Obama, smart man!

Obama : with so many failed and wrong judgements, how can one just trust this guy based on what he nicely says or draws sweet pictures of future.

He made friends like Tony Rezko and Rev Wright, and Farrahkhan,, and he is proud of this. The other day he felt "sad" when court gave a verdict for Tony. Why was he "sad" for a mafia ?

Obama seems to carry a lot of invisible baggage too, its just that media has a liking for him.

Our politicians love to beat the drums about we are a nation of laws, yet it takes the Supreme Court to tell the President what the people already knew, we are breaking the laws. How can McCain or Bush ask another country to treat our troops right if they are not willing to do the same when it comes to the POW's we have in our custody.

This is just another example of Bush and McCain's policy to the rest of the world, do as I say, not as I do. That is why we have lost respect around the world, that is why I will vote for Obama and that is why all of you who vote for McCain apparently love being alienated from the rest of the world.

It is well known that some of the detainees were 'sold' to us by Afghan War Lords who were promised cash for terror 'suspects'. Bush and McCain talk about security, they also talk about their wars. We invaded Iraq on a whim, we went into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden and have not succeeded. We have Bush and McCain taking bows but have we really accomplished anything. Afghanistan is ready to erupt again and eventually Iraq will do the same. The only thing that our President and his cloned nominee have given us is a huge debt, an increased profit to there corporate elite friends and a false sense of security. To all Americans it is time for America to change, to rid us of the corporate tyranny of the rich and make the majority of this country equal to the minority. Maybe people do not believe that Obama is the best choice but a vote for McSame is for same old government of the past 35 years.
If you want change then Obama is your only choice.

no, since terrorist suspects were given the same rights as petty thieves during the 1993 world trade center trials, they had the right to discovery, which gave them access to private lists we had of co-conspirators, and they got knowlegde of how we were tracking terror suspects, including osama bin laden, which gave OBL knowledge of our operations and how to circumvent them.

obama's just pandering, doing anything he can to differentiate himself from this administration, even when it's right. cnn, please, when you post these articles please give more background and educate people on the facts so they know how to read what they're reading.

cnn only reports the "stories." it seems when i want the facts i have to go to fox news or headline news (subsidy of cnn). sad.

What a difference 8 years make.

The 2000 version of John McCain would have lauded this decision, which clearly states that the president – any president – is not above the law.

The 2008 model, however, feels he must throw red meat to that frothing wing of the Republican party that divides the nation into "conservatives" and "traitors."

Everything that made McCain so appealing years ago, the thoughtfulness and independence, has been sacrificed at the altar of electoral ambition. We were never able to lump McCain in with the reactionary crowd – the "agents of intolerance" – of Limbaugh, Rove, Cheney, Coulter, et al. Now we can. How depressing.

Courage and conviction? No way. Pandering of the most blatant sort? Yep.

Has the small-minded wing of the GOP moved so far to the right that "the rule of law" is now considered merely a part of a liberal conspiracy?
