Clinton and Obama are set to make their first post-primary season appearance next week.

(CNN) — Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will make a joint public appearance next week for the first time since she ended her White House bid.

Clinton's national finance director, Jonathan Mantz, sent top donors an invitation Tuesday for a June 26 meeting in Washington, D.C. featuring both former rivals. Mantz also asked Clinton donors to show unity by giving Obama $2,300, the maximum donation allowable under federal campaign finance laws.

He added that Clinton "will do everything she can to unify the party and to elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States."

To All NASTY Obama Supporters:

AJ CALLIFORNIA   June 17th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

I am sick of the crazy Hillary supporters saying that they will not vote for Obama out of spite. You lost get over it. Think about this, do you really want roe v. wade over turned,? do you really want more young people in harms way in Iraq.? Do you really want this? Because that is what your vote out of spite will get you.

have fun!

Hard Obama Supporter   June 17th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

To all of the Hillary Supporters! You guys really need to wake up!! I don't understand how on earth could you vote for McCain ! Please can someone explain it to me? You guys are not making any sense! How are you going to feel when in the next 2 years America is in a real bad situation then it is now?!!! You guys just don't care about anything just because of your prejudice feelings towards a candidate? That's the way I look at it and so do many other people!! I think you Hillary supporters are extremely childish! If Hillary won I (and many Obama supporters) would have voted for her because we want a Democrat in the White House…..NOT ANOTHER FREAKING REPUBLICAN!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!

Aida, Anaheim CA   June 17th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

Remember, a house divided against itself cannot stand….thank you Barack and Hillary for putting our party and country first. God bless you…as for me and my family we are hoping and praying for an Obama/Clinton ticket that will lead us to victory without a doubt!!

HILLARY/MCCAIN supports:

To those who were for Hillary and now will vote for McCain as opposed to Obama….you were not going to seriously vote for a black man anyway. Who do you think you're kidding? Use any excuse you want but the truth is that Obama & Hillary are 2 peas in a pod when it comes to ideas and policies. Their political rhetoric so close in content and structure that they could have read from each other's cheat sheets. You people were never about Hillary's ideas and abilities. You weren't voting for her as a presidential candidate, you were only voting for her freakin vagina. And like typical scorn women, you'll do anything - even throw your vote away to get even with everybody especially with Senator Obama. After the election, you must let us know how it felt to cut your nose off just to spite your face.

Isn't it amazing how quickly some of the Clinton supporters are turning their backs on the Great Senator. I firmly believe that 99% of the Clinton supporters will back her in her support of Obama. The 99% I speak of are true to Senator Clinton, support the issues she supports and she how close her and Obama really are on the issues.

Then we have the other 1%, they want to run around, stir the pot, whine, cry and bellyache about getting their little bitty feelings hurt and yell about the nomination being stolen even with the facts do not fit their case. This 1% do not care about Clinton, Obama or the issues that face this country, they are happy to just run around and start a bunch of BS simply because they think it helps the situation.

This 1% doesn't set down and take the time to review the issues, review the facts, they go by some website they found or some talking head who spews the same kind of dissent and hatred they do. People say things about Obama but they don't take time to find out the facts, they don't take into account the extensive FBI background checks that are done on Presidential Candidates and Senators.

No this is to much work and goes against the arguments they try to make, the sad part is the more they make their arguments the more stupid they look. I for one am not afraid to take them to task, to make them give their facts, their sources because if they cannot do that then their arguments are baseless. Now all you Obama haters and so call Clinton supporters who are turning your back on her stick that in your pipe and smoke it. If this makes you mad, oh well, you'll get over it.

Hillary is delivering on the promise that she has made consistently throughout this campaign - that she would support the Democratic nominee no matter who it was.

Now we get to see how much of her support was genuine from people who support her positions on the issues (which are almost identical to Obamas) and those who were just racists.

These supposive Hillary supporters, and those supposive obama supporters who cal for either to fail, or to be gone, are just not that..

They are simply Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos, trying to divide us.

Real simply true Clinton Supporters will vote for Mr Obama in November, and true Obama Supporters, in fact Like HIllary Supporters. You are true democrats, and know what it takes to win.

We applaud Hillary Clinton, and wether or not she is Barack's VP, or a supreme court justice, or the secretary of state, should not matter…what does matter is she is a democrat…loud and proud.

She knows Mr Obama is supporting her views, and she supported his.

She also knows McCain is not even a close comparison to Barack or herself.

I for one again Applaud Mrs Clinton, and her supporters, as she fought a fantastic primary, one of the more enjoyable ones I have ever seen, and she should be commended.

To all TRUE Hillary supporters, do not fall for the lying quote unquote supporters from either side, they are not true supporters, and never will be.

My vote and that of my family is and always will be with John S. McCain, a man of character and integrity. Semper Fi.

She's not working fast enough. The boos we're hearing from crowds around the nation stem from the fact Mrs. Clinton has disappeared. Her emails are not mentioning the presumptive nominee. She is still fundraising. Let's go Mrs. Clinton. All hands on deck. We have an election to win.

Next rotation, all of Obama's buddies can be voted out!

I will not support what and who Senator Obama is and how Senator Obama and the DNC shafted the American people from the best nominee by their own manipulations and deceit. Good for them - bad for the country.

America first and Party second!

Tristan   June 17th, 2008 8:23 pm ET

Do I smell a joint-ticket coming on? This could be the first step to it.

An Obama-Clinton ticket would pummel John McCain so bad? They would easily sweep Missouri and Arkansas. It would be similar to how badly Bill Clinton beat the Repubs in 92 and 96.

The DNC has imposed Obama on us!! It is very hard to vote for someone your don't trust, someone that is a follower and not a leader, someone that speaks eloquently ,but does he means what he says??? Does Obama have the experience required to deal with other world leaders? Does he have the knowledge to take us out of the economic situation that we are in.? See what no experience has brought us the last 8 years. Will Obama be the George Bush of the Democratic Party??? Or Jimmy Carter No. 2???
I'm still trying to figure out what people see in him!

Hillary glad you are back!!!!!!

Shirley   June 17th, 2008 8:19 pm ET

Now let us get back to the importance of the fall election. Remember WHY it is so important to beat the Republicans. Let us all stand together and WIN. Because Hillary did not win, would you rather have more years of this frightening war? Do you want to worry constantly about losing your home or your job? Do you want more years of high gas prices, and $4.00 a gallon milk? Aren't the worries about our huge deficit more important than the candidate? The loss of allies, the secrecy of this administration, the cover-ups and torture and constantly being lied to? Do you want to allow more terrible things like New Orleans. It was his slow and uncaring action that I criticize. Do you want to have to worry about your Social Security being terminated? McCain wants privatized Social Security. Think what those rich people have already done to the average citizen. That was one of the things Bush wanted . Do you want to continue with the arrogant administration breaking every law in the book , AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT. The Democrats should be held responsible also because many of Bush's offences should have called for impeachment and Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the house. stated that
Impeachment was not on the table. Obama is a well educated man and I ask every Democrat to put aside their disappointment and fight for the election of a Democrat. The recovery of our nation is truly at stake.

Debbie   June 17th, 2008 8:19 pm ET

I am another Hillary supporter and former "Democrat" who will not be voting for Obama in November. The media and DNC presented Obama with the nomination long before primary voting was over. I did not follow the crowd and support Bush after September 11, and I will not follow the crowd and support Obama now. I actively campaigned for John Kerry four years ago and have always considered myself a liberal, but now realize the two-party system, and the Democratic party, has failed.

Deb   June 17th, 2008 8:18 pm ET

That is great news. Looking forward to seeing them together next week. THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

Angela   June 17th, 2008 8:18 pm ET

Obama and his supporters should be as gracious as Clinton and her supporters are being - the Obama supporters are acting very " full of yourselves." No humility or grace at all- Reality….Obama needs our votes to win- the national polls show Obama just a few points ahead of McCain- so remember that you need all Democrats to win– the white women, the independents, white men, etc. so stop throwing the stones!!

If the roles were reversed Obama supporters would have demanded that he be on the ticket that second as VP- yet the Obama supporters just cant see it the other way- stop throwing the stones at us and start trying to win us over… McCain is!!!!

Obama 08'   June 17th, 2008 8:17 pm ET

all you people slamming Obama for the final primaries
they both slammed each other in certain places!
she killed him in places like Puerto Rico, and he killed her in places like North Carolina. Two very different kind of places! They both have obvious weaknesses among certain groups, but great strengths with others. This just goes to show that together they MIGHT be able to kill the Republicans, or they might GET killed because the group that Obama appeals to may HATE her and vice versa.

So go ahead and vote for McSame… by the way - I wish some of you would show up at some of his lousy townhall meetings.

Surely McSame should be able to gather more than 250 people!

Yes we can win without your vote… but Obama will be the next president so I hope you don't choke!

California Voter   June 17th, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Interesting to read such statements about Hillary Clinton like "seeing her ugly puss". Is that the way affluent, educated people talk. No wonder many of us who voted for Clinton will not vote for Obama if that is the kind of individual who is among his supporters.

My reasons for not supporting Obama have to do with his long-standing membership in a black liberation church where the Rev. Wright preached hate and racism. Even Oprah got the message and left the church. Obama and his wife continued to support and attend this church. His lack of judgment and his lack of honesty in his comments about the church call to question his suitability for the presidency. Obama has never fully disclosed why he remained with that church . . . could it be because he believed in what was being said?????

I do not vote for a party alone . .!

Rev Sun Hwa Sen, Utah   June 17th, 2008 8:12 pm ET

The first state to vote for Obama was Iowa and look what happened to them—other states voting for him were Illinois and Missouri and now they are being beseiged by the waters—–the heavens are not pleased—

Rabbi Sinth   June 17th, 2008 8:12 pm ET

Wow - So many Clinton supporters here (mostly women) seem to harbor racist feelings towards Obama. Why are you all masking it? Why don't you just say you do not like him because he is black? None of these words you are saying would have been said if John Edwards had beaten Hillary Clinton. If you must, go vote McCain. But that will be a waste of eight years that we as democrats could have used to rebuild this country.

Erin   June 17th, 2008 8:11 pm ET

It's about time…Thankfully Hillary is coming out of hiding just in time to get a handle on her Puma supporters who believe the best way to respond to her primary loss is to vote for John McCain. Regardless of whether or not Obama picks her as his running mate, they must realize that Hillary will be far more capable of instilling the kinds of policy changes she was hoping to make as President as a cabinet member, a position she could never hope to achieve if McCain is elected. Maybe they will listen when their beloved candidate tells them from her own mouth that redirecting their support towards McCain and the corrupt GOP is the worst kind of slap in the face to Hillary. If they truly support her they will throw their weight behind Obama in the interests of party unity and the absolute necessity of putting a Democrat back in the White House this November.

How exactly will Sen.Obama approach the issues facing our great nation? His has been a voice, wonderful speeches, but lets face the fact that his experience does not qualify him for the office of the President of the United States of America and Commander in Chief - one in which the new President will face the effects of global warming, war, commodities shortages- everything from fresh water and oil to wheat, economic "downturn" and health issues ranging from rogue viruses to tainted food/products. Many of these issues span an international spectrum. Where exactly does Sen. Obama exhibit the experience to effectively deal with these issues. We do not have the luxury of time. We need change and we need proven leadership - on day one. In my opinion the only person who has the qualifications to effectively handle all the issues facing our nation is Hillary Clinton. This 30 year democrat will vote for/write in Hillary for president and not ever Obama, no matter who his running mate.

Nobama! 18 million Demorcats across this nation said so! Why? Too many unanswered questions. This is not about race or religion, only the weak minded and mean spirited boil it down to that; it is about who is able to make the weighty decisions the next President must face. Global Warming, War, Economic "downturn," Oil, Commodities, Health, Fresh Water, many issues spanning the global community await our next president. Obama simply is not experienced and has not proven his patriotism. The DNC picked the weaker candidate, giving unearned votes to Obama. Who is David and who is Goliath? Nobama!

Why has our politics become a system of insuring that one particular party stays in office over another? Why don't American politicians understand that cultures change - even ours, and that it would be detrimental for any one party to inherently stagnate or bias the changing perspectives of the people? This is not an accurate representation of changing American sentiment. It's time to recognize our place in the world, as a caring people. Put away the guns and see how quick the world heals.

So at last count more or less it was Obama, sexism, media bias, Obama supporters, DNC, Michelle Obama, the DNC, caucas states, Mercury in retrograde, natural disasters, Keith Olbermann, AA's, liberals, latte drinkers, Prius drivers, global warming, super delegates, The Huffington post, SNL, a shoulder brush, etc. and now the hiring of someone she fired, one Ms. Patti Solis-Doyle's fault for yet another injustice being done to poor HIllary. Hahahaha

Injustice is what is happening in Maynamar, Dufar, etc. Conspiracies are what took our jobs to China and India and now have us paying through the nose for their over-inflated oil consumption as their economies thrive and ours goes down the toilet. Women's rights are being violated in just about every 3rd world country on the planet and yet people are throwing hissy's trying to make one more thing about Hillary which it isn't? It would all be truly sad if it wasn't so pathetically funny.

John W., Milwaukee, WI   June 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

I guess my question is why?

These people hate each other and yet, they have to try and show that they can play NICE?

Obama is simply NOT electable; perhaps the only person in this country who doesn't really understand that is: OBAMA!

g-Mack   June 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

This is just what Black America talks about. You want us to turn our heads when unjust statements and violent acts are thrown at us for being born a color that you can't change. For over 200 plus years we have voted for white people even though we get looked over after the election, like katrina. I say to all the none college hard working white people as i have told them on the job 8 years ago. Bush in the office is a mistake and war in the middle east is the biggest. Know 6 years later they cry about the man they elected, because when it all comes down to it uneducated people of any race feels the pain of the economy not the educated, So please vote for mccain and suffer more years and when your finally tired of crying. I an educated black obama suppoter will laugh again at master slavery mentality.

Too bad. I had enjoyed not seeing Hillary every time I turned on the TV.

Great–My respect/admiration has grown substantially the past few months. She is so needed as a political leader. I like Obama but absolutely love Hillary!!

Janet Wilcox   June 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

You people that are evaluating this are dumb, you put threats on here and profanity, but, no reasonable comments.

rachel   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Okay not bad about 2weeks rest. I like you Hillary you were my girl. One request please help Obama prepare for a debate with McCain so he doesnt look like a dear caught in headlights on a question he wasn't expecting, and I know you tried to get him ready in the primaries, but please just try to again drive home that nothing is off limits except his children, so that means Michelle is fair game and his answer cant be leave her alone. Obama please tell your people on the net to stop the bashing will people leave her alone now?

Dmitriy   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Patti Solis Doyle was Obama's move towards party unity. The message was heard loud and clear.

KF   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Hillary won more votes than any other candidate - even the golden boy Obama. But he has my support now because he is a great candidate - though not as good as she would have been and still is in my mind. I will vote for her again in 2012 if he can't beat McCain (which he needs to). Now I watching to see how Obama and his campaign do right by Hillary supports and this joint appearance and his standing up to his nasty anti-hillary supports is a good start in my eyes. But I am looking for more.

miyaki   June 17th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

I will never vote for Obama.

Go McCain!!!

Kyle, MI ... former Democrat, now Independent   June 17th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

An Obama / Clinton Democratic ticket would be an extremely good ticket unless Obama keeps pulling these tricks out of his bag

Look at Gov. Jennifer Granholm's speech at an Obama rally in Michigan yesterday, I am sure you can find it somewhere …… now tell me that we are still not somewhat divided …… bring everyone 'closer' together with this ticket, its bound to do very well.

Henryk   June 17th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

We need a change after all this bad years
Obama is the right men for the White house and I hope he takes Hillary Clinton for VP. It will be great to have this two in White House .

Aimee   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

I would hope that the issues we all care about are what drive our choices. America is more important than any one candidate, any one person, be it Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. If you truly believe that McCain will be a visionary leader that can heal the country, then by all means, vote for the man. But if you are not truly committed to his message and his policies (that are not even vaguely similar to Hillary's), please give it some serious thought. I admire Hillary and I will continue to support Barack!

Let's come together and make some real changes!

Dmitriy   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

So Clinton who is millions in debt is asking supporters to give money to Obama? Hell no. I'll keep contributing to Hillary until her debt is paid off.

Who Cares?   June 17th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

All of you so called Hillary supporters are so fake. If you really supported Hillary Clinton, why didn't you put your money where your mouth was. This was obvious that you all were just running your little mouths. Why else would Hillary's campaign be 20 million dollars in debt. If you love Hillary, show her the money!!!

When McCain appoints conservative judges to the Supreme Court and Roe v. Wade is overturned I will walk down the street laughing and whistling at all of the bitter women supporters of Hillary Clinton who to be bitter and spiteful voted for McCain and then they will reap what they sowed. Then I do NOT want to hear anything complaining from them on any blogs or posts.

Stop the Madness   June 17th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

I've never had a comment posted so I'm probably wasting time again. However, it is time for us to stop the madness. Yes, I supported Hilary and thought she was the best candidate. But she is gone and now I have to decide between the two that are running. How hard is it? I voted for Hillary for several reasons… Iraq, economy, the fact that possibly 3 supreme court justices will be appointed by this president. How can you say you will support McCain. This is ridiculous, and please stop saying "Hilary" supporters will not support Obama. Only Hilary voters who does not understand the issues. You do not speak for all of us. I WILL BE SUPPORTING OBAMA AS WELL AS ALL OF THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT I KNOW.

John, Brooklyn, New York   June 17th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Its interesting that the media seems to believe it is now Barack Obama's responsibility to court disaffected former supporters of Hillary Clinton. In fact, if she has any political savvy, she should understand that its other other way around. If Obama loses the election - the blame will be placed squarely on her - and she can kiss her senate seat good-bye.

jon   June 17th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

GO DEMOCRAT!! FCUK MCCAIN OLD AS DIRT THAT WANTS TO CONTINUE LIES AND GREED. WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER BUSH IN THE OFFICE. LOOK AT THE ECONOMY ITSELF..

Tricia   June 17th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Obama planned a long-term campaign. Clinton planned a short-term campaign by relying too much on Penn and Ickes through Big Tuesday instead of her carefully perusing their strategic planning. That is also called CEO strategy and being careful of who you select to manage different areas. I think they should forgive her their debt because they were downright stupid and did not hear that more of the same is not what many voters wanted. Clinton oftentimes harked back to the past.

But, I do not know why many of you do not think of Clinton in a US Supreme Court Justice position. She has a law degree. And, she would still be there through numerous Administrations looking out for women, and others' rights of course, since they seem to have no term limit. I think she would look rather snazzy in a Judge's robe - and not a sexist remark since they all seem to wear the same kind! But, she cannot be nominated under McCain.

Mark Anthony - People grow up!!!   June 17th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Forgive my childish attitude towards some of you people here but you are acting like "retards" and not in the short yellow bus type either. Hillary Supporters Wake UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   June 17th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

To all Clinton “Democrats” who plan to vote for McCain:

You’re no longer Democrats in my book. Stop calling yourself Democrats, stop claiming to be Democrats. No Democrat in my book would be willing to risk another four to eight years of the worst Economic & Foreign Policy failure in this nation’s history not to mention the balance of the Supreme Court. All this just because he’s not as experienced?

If I recall some of the most experienced politicians (Cheney & Rumsfeld) have done a number on the United States over that last eight years

Abraham Lincoln was elected after only having served had served as a four term Congressman and losing an election to the Senate.

Woodrow Wilson who lead our country to victory in World War I had served for only two years as governor of New Jersey.

If you’re going to switch parties and become a McCain Republican, do it because he stands for what you believe in, not because the guy representing the same thing Clinton believes in has defeated your candidate

Gary   June 17th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

If Hillary is going to work hard for Obama, then why can't all of you devout Hillary supporters? Do you honestly think McCain is better for our country than Obama? The past 7 years should answer that. IF McCain is elected, he can sway the Supreme Court to favor the end of Roe v. Wade, the Constitution, and justice in general.

THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE

Farrell, Houston, Tx   June 17th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Reading some of the posted comments and threats, such as, I won't vote Obama if Hillary is not V.P. I wonder how many people have been denied a job they wanted, felt more qualified, but didn't get job. Disgruntle employees don't always quit, they keep hanging in there whether they like it or not.

Donald, Toronto   June 17th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

I am please with the approach of Senator Clinton. The supporters of both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton should follow the lead of these two outstanding individuals and put the past behind them and get inline with the Democratic party presumptive nominee so that there will be a unified front. The bickering and divisive arguments after the primaries and caucuses have ended does not serve any positive purpose than to give the Republican reason to continue with President Bush's agenda which is irrational acts that isolate the USA in the international community. Please think of what disunity may result with. Do you democrats really want four more years of the status quo?

Can we unite please!   June 17th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

This should get the P.U.M.A. and the Justsaynodeal people to come and unite and get the Democratic party ready for this fall.

diane canada   June 17th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Lilarose, Obama is certainly not on his own, there's 18 million (and climbing daily) all walking beside him. Your company is not required, go home now like a good little girl.

In the last 8 years, America has become disgraced in the eyes of the world, it's regarded as a bullish, ignorant, fear-mongering, lying bully, an 'I'm right and you're all wrong' kind of bully and so on and so on. To even think some of you former Hillary supporters would even consider electing another ignoramus like McCain over a man like Obama is just confirming what people around the world already think they know about Americans. I dare you to prove them wrong.

Janet Wilcox   June 17th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Jenna who cares, go ahead and vote McSame as Bush who has voted against important issues for women!.

Chris K   June 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

It's amazing to see all the right wing republicans stepping up on these blogs pretending to be angry ex-clinton supporters who will vote for McCain over Obama.

John McCain is strongly anti-choice for women. John McCain will shoot first and not engage in diplomacy. John McCain will be a third Bush term - more slavery to the big oils companies and the Saudi's.

Don't let the Republicans flooding this site with hatred fool you. Democrats must unite. There is too much at stake.

Silence Dogood   June 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

"Hillary people are so uneducated they no not what they do."
They NO?
Wait - I think I understand how Obama's been fooling people.

Chut Pata   June 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Okay, then let's do it. Hillary supporters should show respect for her support to Obama by contribution to his campaign. Unfortunately polls show Hillary support has made no positive difference to Obama. Which means the ladies are going to vote McBush who defends his donor who thinks women should enjoy rape!

Likewise, when all is said and done, Obama supporters should show that they return respect with respect and bail Hillary campaign out of the debt although it was the campaigns fault that they adviced Hillary to go on just to keep their highly paid jobs.

I would definitely donate to Hillary when I see Hillary supporting actually supporting Obama.

JayM   June 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Andrea. California   June 17th, 2008 7:52 pm ET

Oh thank god she's coming back, this snorefest of Obama now in election mode filling sand bags talking about bringing guns to a knife fight was getting old. Come on Hillary bring back the spice, excitement, strength and knowledge back to the mix. Obama is a wonderful man, with an amazing speaking ability, people are moved by his words of Hope, Hillary however is the brains, she had and has the plans and smarts to get this country back into shape. Obama will be a lovely spectacle though, other countries will look at us as good people again, of course. And that is, after all, what a lot of people really want. I personally wanted someone that was more than that, Hillary has that as well, but i guess the "good" of the people is better seen with Obama, I am not a republican, no matter how badly you all want to proclaim Hillary supporters who will not vote for Obama to be. I was undeclared, and have just registered as Independent. Obama is faaaaaaaaaaaaar left, Hillary was closer to the middle, As is McCain. McCain may get my vote, an Independent may, Obama will not.

Catherine   June 17th, 2008 7:52 pm ET

Dear Hillary Supporter,
I am with Obama, but when got the album all I could do was cry. I like Hillary, and I believe she will be part of this administration…there are a lot of negative comments though. Don't you care about her? Do you care more about expressing your anger than supporting her? We support Hillary financially, because at this time that is all we know to do. However, you have the ability to lift up her heart! Why don't you do that? She will make history and last forever…your anger will be soon forgotten

On more than one occasion Barack has said she would be at the fore front of health care. That is what she said she wanted to do in her final speech. Just for the record, that holds more weight than the VP. She will have more authority and be able to move freely in the administration. So, if you care even one iota about Hillary, you will help unify the party and empower this movement of change

SM   June 17th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

I don't think those people who post these comments are Hillary supporters. I know many Republicans who likes to heat thing up between Obama and Hillary supporters to their advantage. All the people I know who supported Hillary in the primaries including myself are now supporting Obama.
We just can't afford another 4 years of Bush

CNN please post.

Mike, Syracuse, NY   June 17th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

I hope they get together. It'll be great watching Obama having all his meals checked by a food taster.

Hillary Supporter. I don't think that the White House is the place to experiment. You need to do things that will work, not just guess and hope for the best.

Eddie   June 17th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Obama can try to munipulate his way to the convention, and even utilize Senator Clinton. It will be great to see her, however he is not getting my vote. I cannot bring myself to vote for change…yet all the change I've seen is speeches, dreams, hope and no substance. He is just as sneaky as the sneakiest of politicians, he is amazing at making people see different.

The dnc is a joke, obama is a joke and yet people are angry that Hillary supporters don't just fall over and believe everything cnn says and follow obama blindly. obama with no experience, no qualifications and a long list of very unsavory friends. Our country is in a very dangerous position and obama is shoved down our throats at every turn - obama who hamas wants to see win.

Real Democrat   June 17th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

I love how some are saying McCain/Clinton '08

Do you not know that McCain had no problem and in fact laughed at Clinton being called the B word?

Does it not bother you that McCain once joked that Janet Reno was Chelsea's father?

Does it also not bother you that their policies are total opposite. Appartently on that one not sense you didn't seem to support Hillary according to policies to begin with otherwise you'd be supporting the DEMOCRATIC party.

Christine Petrone   June 17th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

Obama, by hiring a former inept campaign manager for Hillary Clinton, made it crysrtal clear he is not choosing Hillary as his running mate. That was not the way to win my vote! I am a die-hard Clinton supporter and if she does not end up on the ticket I will NOT vote for Barack.
If indeed, "Barack Obama had high praise Tuesday for Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager, who recently joined his campaign as chief of staff for his yet-unnamed running mate" he certainly has no intention of choosing Hillary for VP running mate. My vote will go for McCain before it will go for the "sweetie" guy!
Patti Solis Doyle is a loser and Barack may find himself one also.
He had better not take the women's vote for granted because if he does, he will be in for a BIG surprise come November! Hillary in 2012!

MDK, MS   June 17th, 2008 7:47 pm ET

She must really need money to pay that debt, because Hillary doesn't do anything unless there's something in it for her. Well she won't get a dime of my money. Sorry Hill, I'm waiting until your debt is paid before I send any more money to Barack.

What a shame, she is out of the race and she's still a distraction for Barack. Hillary, pay your debt and get off the stage.

Will all the Hillary supporters who plan to vote for McCain, please send donations to her so that the rest of us don't end up bailing her out after her frivolous and reckless spending spree she went on .Including the velvet drapes she thought she needed at all her campaign rallys and putting her staff up at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, while all the other candidates used cotton sheets and bunked with volunteers..

sacto joe   June 17th, 2008 7:47 pm ET

1. Most of these "Hillary" supporters are Republicans pretending to be Dems

2. If you ARE a Hillary supporter, and want to ruin her politically, then help support McCain. Her political life now depends on how well she can heal the wounds she helped create.

Obama is on a serious ego trip right now, and thinks he got this election in the bag. I don't know where he is getting all of this confidence seeing how Hillary beat him so bad during the end of the primaries. I guess he feels that McCain is such an inferior choice that people will obviously be voting for him in November.

Some Die Hard Hillary Supporters Are Right! Obama Was Hand Picked! . . . By Millions Of Us That Voted For Him!

Anthony   June 17th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

As a Canadian who has meticulously followed this campaign I am appalled by some of you. We would have taken Obama in a landslide. With Obama we finally the hope for our neighbor and the world at large.

You must vote for Obama and do your research…Obama is not a socialist, liberal yes, but no more so than say Bill Clinton was when he came to office (he became more centrist while in office). He is not a Muslim, he is more family values oriented and more Christian than McCain could ever hope to be…

A vote for McCain is a vote against Hillary, can't you see that?

As an outside observer I can tell you the world is watching and the world wants Obama…choosing McCain will deteriorate your reputation in the world much much further. Fox News has no respect up here, so if that is your main source, or Lou Dobbs than I guess perhaps we can forget about hoping for a more humane and dignified America.

The world is watching…

Bradley Schaubs, Greeley, CO   June 17th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

Something to ponder…

Ever notice how when Clinton was still fighting for the Democratic nomination, her supporters blindly hung on every word she said and believed them to be true, yet when she said "Vote for Obama", they suddenly had minds of their own???

This leads me to one conclusion: Clinton's "supporters" were actually Republicans hoping to destroy democracy and Democrats by masquerading as their bitter enemies and making huge fusses about the one guy who'll save America. I hope they know they'll lose everything before it's over.

Deborah, MD   June 17th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

Okay, but I want Barack to watch his back. And I want his Secret Service to protect him from any dirty dealings that the Clintons may do. So Barack's Secret Servicemen have to watch Clinton's Secret Servicemen, because she may have her men put Barack in harm's way. I know this sounds crazy, but you never know. What do we know about the Secret Service. I think they have law suits against them regarding discrimination.

Yes, meet with her if you have to Barack, but WATCH YOUR BACK. And don't eat any food around Hillary–nothing, oh, and don't drink around her either. Remember she "suspended" her campaign, so she's not really out of the game. Watch your back, watch your back, watch your back.

Why do you Obama supporters thinking that Clinton supporters only have a choice between him and McCain? I won't vote for Obama because I don't think he's qualified to be president.
I won't vote Republican, but WILL vote for a 3rd party person. The fact that the Democratic Party picked an untested, unexperienced person over someone with more experience who's been tested has pretty much made me rethink my stance on them. I no longer feel that they are competent and do not want to be a member in their party.

For all Hillary supporter that has said that they won't support him he will be fine remember he has a large group of people that support him already. Hillary Clinton is a well polished and higly dedicated politician, and very sincere leader. Her support for 'Obama' shows how much she loves her party and this country,

We as strong supporters for 'Obama' from the day one, admire tremendously her efforts and salute her for her contribution of working together with 'Obama' to make sure that he is elected as our next president.

I very humbly request all Hillary supporters to please join hands together and work for a common cause; elect the democratic president this year, and save this country from this current turmoil of economic and political disaster.

All the best!

No money for Obama point blank period. No money for the dnc point blank period. The "dust" has not settled. It will be settled at the convention. It is not bitterness, it is not hate, it is the reality of the real votes. It is the reality of the sexism, the disrespect, the lies, the dis honesty. If you want to see hatefulness look at most of the post by the obamanists, looks pretty hateful to me.

To all Hillary supporters:

To vote no against women's rights, to keep our young men and women dying in Iraq, to vote against any hope of health care reform, to vote with big oil and against our own economic interests because your mad just doesn't make sense. I'm an Obama supporter but if it went the other way, I would have voted for Hillary because the idea of four more years of what we've had is NOT acceptable.

Please rethink this. I know you're intelligent women who will want what's right for women, for the country and for our children.

Hillory should join John Mccain, now that would be great change every one could vote for. That truly is a dream ticket.

FactCheck   June 17th, 2008 7:39 pm ET

You Republican shills can yap all you want but recent WSJ polls have 61% of Hillary supporter behind Obama and only 19% going to McCain. A few more months of McCain's yapping and the numbers will get even more lopsided. We are not as stupid as you think.

I'm tired of people rambling about Obama's experience.

Let me tell you a story about experience. I once worked with a very experienced teacher. So experienced that I worked with her through her retirement. She was so experienced that she was completely unwilling to look at situations in a new light, completely unwilling to try new things and she was certainly not willing to listen to common sense and research to change her practice as that would require far too much work and she had already put in what she thought her fair share of work was. In a sentence, her experience had made her into a horrible teacher that niether the students or the other teachers could relate to.

I also worked with a very young teacher. So young that she got pink slipped three years in a row b efore she finally decided to work someplace else. She was amazing. Very knowledge, always trying new things and very, incredibly respected by the students (and the students were a tough crowd). In otherwords, her lack of experience kept her open-minded and energetic.

I'm not saying that experience has no value. I'm just saying that Obama's lack of experience far outweighs all of McCain's experience. Seriously, think about it…

"Hillary Clinton is a good Democrat and will do whatever the Party asks her to do. We the voters don't have that same loyalty. The Democratic Party has let us down by selecting an inferior nominee and making it quite clear that they don't want or need our votes. I am changing my registration to Independent and will never again contribute to the DNC. WE WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!!!!!"

Suzanne,…. perhaps you should consider changing your registration to something else. It wasn't the Democratic Party that selected somebody other than Hillary, it was the voters and the Democratic party followed the will of the majority of voters. We call that Democracy. Perhaps you should give some serious consideration as to what you are really hoping for.

To those of you that think that no true Democrat would ever vote for McCain, you need to stop and think about it for a moment.

First off, there are a lot of Democrats that are no where near as far LEFT as OBama is, they are more centrists whereas OBama is a Socialist.

Second, to a lot of Republicans, McCain is also LEFT of center and his voting record proves it, so a lot of Democrats have more in common with McCain than they do with OBama. They also have more in common with McCain than most Republicans do.

I submitted a comment before I read thed comments already submittted. I feel for you foolish Hillary Clinton supporters. Hillary ran a great race, she lost. If Barack would have lost what would you have said about his supporters that would not support Hillary Clinton. You don't know where this country will be in 2012. You may not have the privilage to vote for anyone. We may be at War with Iran, unable to have an abortion, and drilling to China, the place that holds all markers. Get over yourself and think of your country.

Phil   June 17th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Are these people claiming to be Clinton supporters saying they will now vote McCain just Republicans playing games? Really people, how can you in your right mind pick McCain over Obama? Have you paid ANY attention the last six months let alone the last eight years? If McCain wins don't whine when the dollar continues to plummet, when you lose your home, when we go to war with Iran, when you loose more of your constitutional rights, when women lose their choice over their bodies, and when healthcare is e
