(CNN) - How is the electoral math stacking up for John McCain and Barack Obama?

Be sure to check back between 4 and 4:30 PM, ET, for a change to CNN's interactive Electoral College map.

The CNN Electoral College map is based on analysis of several factors, including polling, voting trends, ad spending, candidate visits, and guidance from the campaigns and political strategists.

Bayou Joe, Sorry man but if we the rest of the world are going to cooperate with US on many other issues then your president is as important to us as he is to you. Your current president thought the rest of the world do not matter see where he has driven your country. If his policies are continued then we will look elsewhere for world leadership and leave you to sink alone.

What? Is this an endorsement?

Obama plans to spend the day in Washington Wednesday and also will meet with union leaders and attend a $28,500-per-person Democratic National Committee fundraiser hosted by Robert Kennedy’s widow Ethel at Hickory Hill, her home in McLean, Va

That must be good food. I wonder about special interest or lobbyist?

He is not going to listen to the little guy.

Obams = change you can choke on

personally i want to ripe that board off the screen and say one person one vote and throw the electrol college out the window. Al Gore won in 2000 and we would be some place really nice right now instead of paying 4 dollars for gas we might have a better energy policy and cleaner air and safer streets and a free Iraq

Believe or not, only race card could change the electoral map.

NObama   June 18th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

John McCain now supports drilling off shore, but didn't 8 years ago. Now all you hear in the media is how he flip flopped. 8 years ago, a barrel of crude oil was less than $30. Now it's closer to $130. When the facts change, one has to change their position to overcome the new circumstances. That's not flip flopping... that's being a wise leader!

West Coast...

I'm am an American.
I'm a Republican.
I wouldn't consider myself a fool.
I'm certainly not a millionaire.
I volunteer in my community, I pay my taxes, I work hard and long hours, I'm concerned about a myriad of issues locally, nationally and globally.

Why is it the practice of SOME members, such as yourself, of the Democratic Party that you have to make an enemy out of anyone who isn't blindly following your way of thinking or that of your personal candidate? There are so very many decent, concerned, hardworking and voting Americans who are Republicans. We're not blind. We're not stupid. We love this nation, and we try hard to do the right thing. But you make villians out of us just for being of a different party?

Seems so. And if so, shame on you and those who think that way. Instead of saying something that builds and brings people closer together, there are too many such as you who can only spout anger and untruths.

It's easier to spout nonsense and venom than to work to build something West Coast.

One would expect your sort of message from an angry 12 year old, not from anyone with the right to cast a vote.

Obama better get wise if he wants to win. Not all Clinton backers are as uneducated and unaware as he might think.

Senator Obama if you want the blue collar, women, and elderly vote.
You know what needs to be done to win.

Obama/Clinton ticket is your true change to be President.

I am not truely convinced that you have what it takes alone and I am sure many other Clinton supporters agree.

To truely bring the Democratic Party together you will need Hililary's help.

Don't listen to the news media. Do what you know is right.

Clinton Supporter.

Alene   June 18th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

I'm sure you'll all say I'm a republican posing as a disgruntled Hillary supporter – whatever you have to tell yourselves. You make that accussation all the time rather than addressing the issues. Yes, Clinton and Obama are similar on most issues to some extent – but Clinton was WAY more towards center, and way more interested in helping the country. Obama, believe me or not, comes across to me (to ME – I'm avoiding your stupid generalizations) as far more extreme than I personally am, and comes across as more interested in helping himself than in helping the common people – I can't get past the holier than thou people clinging to their guns because they're less educated than I am attitude. That is NOT the way to help the country. No, I'm not voting for McCain. I may end up voting for Obama, but will hate myself while doing it. He's not out to help me out.

Susan   June 18th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Obama needs to pick Hillary for VP, and then pull all their supporters together :)

Obama-Junkie, IL   June 18th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Depending on how national issues like the economy and Iraq shape out over the next 5 months will determine whether the contest between Obama and McCain is close or an Obama blowout.

CB   June 18th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

"Socialism"? Politics by cliche isn't going to get you very far this year. That tired old dog, smear-and-fear, isn't going to hunt anymore. Nobody's listening to your side anymore because you righties have nothing new to offer.

But that's not surprising, because the entire raison d'etre of conservatism is to look backward, cling to old ways and resist progress or new ideas.

Folks, dont get too head over heels. Polls mean nothing. Barack needs to acts as if he has no idea what the polls are showing. Remember what happened to Hillary during the primaries. She started high up in the polls in the beginning of the race to be out at the end of the race. Please Obama's supporters once again you need to work harder than before and not take anything for granted. Do your best to keep McWar out of the WH, because any recession affecting the U.S will have a negative effect on the world economy.Remember the effect of the 1933 Recession worldwide. Also watch out those bitter Clintons supporters who are nothing but Repubs in Dems cthoting (the new version of Rush Limbaugh's operation chaos).Their aim is stir up devision among Dems. Anyone who thinks Florida and Michigan are a toss up are crazy. And being from Missouri you should shade that burgundy right now because Obama does not stand a chance here. He will pull some votes in KC and St louis (McCaskill country) but the rest of the state is pure red. McCaskill is going to have to fight real hard just to hold on to her Senate seat as she has been a disaster since taking office. After jumping on the Obama bandwagon her numbers went even lower.

Young Tx Dem   June 18th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

How can anyone in their right mind cast a vote for McCain? How can you people do it? When, from what's been presented so far, he simply wants to continue down the path the current arrogant, self-centered man in office now has led us down. The state of this country has continually deteriorated the past 8 years and it's simply scary how things are. People need to open their eyes in the next 5 months and realize we can't take another 4 years of this sort of “leadership”. We will end up in an even worse position in the world than we are now, if that's even possible.

David S., CA   June 18th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Yeah Obama wants change allright, change us into a socialist state, take from the rich more and more (the rich politicans dont worry, they built in loopholes for themselves), bigger government, big brother looking down. Government is the answer to all our problems. No thanks...

So whats a windfall profit tax going to do? Give more money to the feds in Washington to waste on more pork and make the prices even higher as the oil companies recoup their losses. The feds are running in the red now, and Obama wants billions more in spending! He wants to end the war and proposes to use that money to spend, why not just NOT SPEND IT but reduce the budget? Obama is like a kid with his hand in the candy jar and cant help but spend spend spend.

HRP   June 18th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

This "electoral" system is so lame and wrong. It should be solely based on popular vote. We should implement the democracy from within.

-------------------------------–

Uh, we live in a union of individual states, not one large country. So the system works effectively.

Our form of government is a representative democracy, not a true democracy. That is why you elect officials to represent you in the government, instead of casting your individual vote on each issue.

Hey Guys –
I'm for change too-But Higher Taxes is not any change-
It makes people less motivated to work and rely on gov't–
Obama is not speaking the truth when he says he's just going to tax the wealthy-
Anyone with a pension will have some tax whether it's capital gains or whatever–
He also staes that that we have the technology to get a car to get 100mpg - so he blows off the price of gas by saying " it just got to $4.00 per gallon too quick"-
What about all those folks in the upper midwest and Northeast who heat their houses with Oil-
Does he not care about this-
It is also funny that a lot of my friends and my comments are not posted on these Liberal blogs-It does make it appear that it will be a landslide–
LIBERALS beware–
Same sex Marriage–
Keep taxing the people who have made a suuceess of themselves because most of you are too lazy to do it for yourselves–
THe worst is yet to come–

GIve it up Republicans. The only ones running the whole "PUMA" movement, smearing boards with "HRC supporters for McCain," and infiltrating blogs are McCain supporters anxious of the coming Democratic surge. The very concept that women are so irrational as to vote against their values and hearts based on anger is sexist and misogynistic in itself. WOmen unite for choice, equal pay, and respect!

peter dc transplant   June 18th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

uh oh, quinnipiac now has polls showing Obama leading FL, OH, and PA. Just like Huckabee pointed out... if the republicans keep trying to demonize Obama with (apparently) slanderous charges like being a "liberal" or "educated", they might as well throw in the towel now. Why would I vote for a party who singles out and rails on a candidates wife? Or is that believes a lapel pin says more about a man than what the man has always said? The frustrating part of this, is I still consider myself a "republican" at heart... but I'd rather take my chances with the democrats until this generation of republicans have kicked the bucket.

I like "distracting the youth with shiny objects" (12:12). Except its a typical [R] twist-of-facts: they say they are now going to use it on a [D]-leaning constituency - but what it really explains is how they fooled the mindless and befuddled among us to vote the WRONG way in 2000 and 2004. In fact, 28% of the populace is still looking, slack-jawed, at "objects" they are told are still shiny, but which have in fact long since lost their luster.

Its unfathomable that the neo-idiots who have all but destroyed our country over the last 8 years think they can win the next election. Their only hope is to continue to take advantage of the stupidest among us.

Asian4Hillary   June 18th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

The only change coming for electoral map is from CNN. It's funny how NOBAMA or NONAME koolaid drinkers think their "Messiah" will change electoral map. There'll be no changes for electoral map, this election will bring states like Pennsylvania, Virgnia, Ohio back to Republican side. What CNN have failed to address, states NONAME have won are deeply entrenched RED states and will remain red for many years to come. Al Gore lost in his own state of TN in 2000, Edwards couldn't carry North Carolina in 2004. For Axelrod to say they would take Georgia, they're drinking too much koolaid. Florida will go to McCain and also Texas. New Jersey will go to GOP, the same with Michigan. In the month of April, Axelrod was asked where is their electoral map for General election, his reply; "we will find it" Many pundits especially CNN did not mention McCain already has 185 electoral college vote at his advantage while the Democractic Party is now scrambling where to get theirs. NONAME bragged they can take Colorado and New Mexico that is 9 and 5 electoral vote; Ohio will sink it in with over 20 electoral college vote and that will go GOP in general election.

The Democratic Party know how to LOSE, they've earned their PHD in losing. For 40 years, the Democratic Party have ONLY won the Whitehouse 3 times, Carter and Bill Clinton (only second Democratic President to be elected twice after FDR).

I am voting for McCain in general election, he is TRUSTWORTHY, I can't say the same thing to NOBAMA who is SHIFTY at best with SHADY CHARACTERS surrounding him.

"TELL ME WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS, AND I'LL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE."

John McCain said at a town hall meeting on Jan 16th 2008 that "its tough being proud of America"

John McCain left his former wife after she was in a car wreck and married a younger richer wife.

John McCain votes against Women's rights.

John McCain accepted money from a rich Texan who continually degrades women. He once compared rape to bad weather saying "you might as well enjoy it."

John McCain voted against health care for children.

The minority of Clinton voters who are now pro-McCain are the same ones who voted for Bush in 2000 & 2004. The only reason this group supported Clinton during the primaries is because they felt guilty for voting for a moron the last two elections, and they saw Clinton as a safer bet than Obama (largely due to the fact that this group wouldn't vote for a black man even if his name was Jesus Christ! Check the exit polls... 1 in 5 of Hillary's voters said that "race" was a factor in their final determination).

What is so ironic is the fact that the lives of this same group of racist were destroyed by Bush– and now they are promoting a man whose policies are no different. This is political misogyny at its worse!

So here's the deal, if you supported Hillary and if you are now throwing a temper tantrum because the black man won, who cares what you think!?!? Obama will win in 08! He is not only an American poltical icon, he is an international phenomenon who will help this country reclaim its place as a world super-power. Put it like this, he is the TIGER WOODS OF THE POLITICAL WORLD! You can't stop him!!!

You can censor me if you want, but it is frankly unbelievable Obama is gaining so little ground despite he's pumped up so much by the media and his challenger is hampered by belonging to the party of most impopular president in history. There is no way to explain that but admitting that Obama is divisive and will be the president of a divided nation, if elected... and I am wondering if this will be really a good idea in a delicate moment like this

Maggie Muggins From Selwyn   June 18th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

The final result will be an accurate reflection of the mood of the country towards the current status. McCain will get 30% of the vote and Obama will get 70% of the vote. The only difference will be if the Libertarians take some of McCain's 30%.

If anyone thinks the U.S. is the world's leader you better check out China as they have either emerged or are emerging as the most powerful nation in the universe while the U.S. and Russia have given way both financially and militarily. Beware the red sea.

I believe we are all inspired by Obama's speaking abilities and motivational skills. even many of the skeptics. But what still strikes me are the intellectual gifts the man possesses. His powers of observation are formidable. combined with an impressive educational background and you have an extremely capable individual.

Who despite his personal gifts, is intelligent enough to be inclusive. He likes to hear all sides and make an informed decision. He won't demonize enemies. He will listen to them, talk to them, reason with them.

Only one person is prepared to move this nation forward. Only one person is ready to become a leader on the world stage. If people will listen to him, hear what he is saying they will see that there is only one choice in November.

Barack Obama

Chut Pata   June 18th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Are we still in the primaries? I thought it was over a long time ago and Hillary and Obama are not opponents but allies in their campaign to defeat neo-cons in GE. Then why were there boos when Hillary asked for Obama's support and Obama asked for Hillary's respect? This is a primary mind-set and that needs to be changed to GE mindset.

Remember, McCain is the opponent and Hillary an ally ... and that tomorrow when Obama wins GE, McCain will cease to be an oppnent and an ally of Obama in the development of this country.

Ruth   June 18th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

It is interesting that Obama is campaigning on CHANGE; it has been reported that he will be consulting with the powers that be from the Clinton whitehouse; he is alienating the Hillary suppporters and running the campaign as if he has already been elected; his constuients are rude, selfish and not very gracious; they want our support but will give nothing in return, not even common courtesy; not even a thank you; I will never understand the hype that Obama inspires; dont people realize that he is a fraud and will resort to anything to get elected? the nomination was "rigged" by Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi; I, for one, will not campaign or vote for Obama; Hillary supporters unite!!!

For all you Clinton supporters: Are you all retarded? Seriously, are you so uneducated in what each candidate stands for? Do you think that being president is just a popularity contest in which it doesn't matter who wins? Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton both stand for basically the SAME EXACT THING. To vote for John McCain just because your bitter that she did not win shows that you know absolutely nothing about politics. Seriously, how could you vote for john mccain if you want the war to end immediately, or believe in universal health care, or a better economic plan? Wow, it just amazes me that people could be so dumb. It's not about the race, gender or look of the president, its about what they stand for. Please start using your brains before you ruin the country for another 4 years.

Mike   June 18th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Jean,

For your time and effort concocting such a meaningless piece of pamphlet ideaology i congratulate you. However let's break down your argument and look at it critically. First things first, what kind of change are you looking for? Simply saying things can be better and the should be is not a real solution however much Obama tries to say that it is. The change he's promoting is raising taxes in a slowing economy. This would obviously increase the negative factors in our markets and would move us from a slowing economy to a recession. And yes it is a "slowing economy" because we are still growing just not at the same high rate we have enjoyed the last 7 years under this administration. As far as your gripe against big corporations... Who do you think works for the evil monsters? Answer: the people. The college educated and hard working citizens of this country and the world over. Everyone gripes about the evils of big business until it's time to go Christmas or holiday shopping. Then it's nice to have a global economy in which we are able to purchase goods at reasonable prices. Anyways back to work at my evil Fortune 500 job.

Down with Obama   June 18th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Hey, Obama. Why are you duckin’ McCain?

Before the primaries and caucuses started, you said you’d accept public funding. But now you’re stepping back from that pledge and, according to a story on CNN yesterday, you’re using your control over the DNC to press for an investigation into McCain’s use of campaign finance funding. Joke.

And toward the end of the primaries and caucuses, you said you’d debate McCain “any time, any place.” But now you’re just debating technicalities over town halls behind closed doors with him rather than debating publicly and answering the questions of real Americans like me.

What’s the matter, Barry?

Can’t take the heat?

As a Hilliary supporter, I have no taste for what O'Bama has to offer. His plan is mere rhetoric, with no detail or substance. In fact, he is now turning on some of the very points he used in the primary to woo voters to his side. The latest reversal is that he will not review and renegotiate NAFTA (It looks like the Canadian government was right), along with his comments that the ground situation will take precedence in Iraq (looks like we are not going to leave after all).

Wake up and smell the coffee! I am voting for McCain so I can vote for Hilliary Clinton in 20012!!!!

Cap   June 18th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

On these electoral maps states such as Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina are "safe McCain". I disagree. As a matter of fact, despite being the home of Bush I think Texas is very much up for grabs. If Obama does well in the Rio Grande Valley, and the urban areas where Obama dominated in the primaries (Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin) I think Obama has a good shot of grabbing the state.

Jim   June 18th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

The rhetoric of the Obama supporters sure doesn't strike me as coming from people who can afford a huge tax increase. In other words, they don't seem too bright....obviously.

Kevin in Dallas   June 18th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

The media's predictions, on who will win what, are unreliable seconds before the polls close. Why would their predictions be any more reliable several months out? While I certainly would like that many states to be swing states, you guys at CNN must have way too much time on your hands.

"Ok, here's how we think people are going to vote several months from now. We base these claims on an incredibly small 'random' sample of potential voters views of the candidates prior to the Presidential Campaign. Next week, we will discuss future President Barack Obama's legacy, and how that may be tarnished by potential scandals."

rumpusgoopus   June 18th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

i find it funny that so many hillary supporters believe that barack is an empty suit and that he's not the best candidate. if he was not the best candidate the dnc wouldn't have even allowed him to run, 18M voters wouldn't have voted for him, and hillary would be the presidential nominee instead of him.

people are blaming him for what his supporters and the media supposedly said or did against hillary. cnn didn't show anymore favoritism towards obama than they did clinton. as a matter of fact he probably caught more hell than she ever did.

if he wasn't capable he wouldn't have had the backing of thousands of delegates.

Edu Minnesota   June 18th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

I can understand that losing is a very difficult experience; but I can't understand the ardent hard position of some Clinton supporters against uniting as democarats. I think they must understand that in a competition, somebody must lose. The idea of voting for Mcain to give way to Clinton in 2012 is misleading political calculation. Take note today, if Democaratics lose this election because of clinton supporters, What makes those hard heartened Clinton supporters think that she will win 2012 without Obama supporters? I feel such Clinton supporters were never democrats. They are probably those that came onboard because of the excitment of the primary election. If you are true democrats, wake up from your slumber, see and take this opportunity when you have it. You might never get it again tommorrow.

When all is said and done, McCain will be our next President.

Too many people are scared of Obama and they should be because he is very naive, lacks experience and is way too arrogant. These factors are such a dangerous combination and present a threat to our national security.

For those posters who do not believe that Clinton supporters will vote for McCain over Obama – well dream-on.

There are so many Clinton supporters (myself included) who will be voting for McCain in November. I am not a Democrat but a Moderate Republican who crossed-over to support Bill Clinton and was equally excited to support Hillary. I have family members who are Democrats and for the first time they will be voting Republican (thank goodness) in November.

The bitter nomination process and the shameful way that the DNC treated Hillary have driven many Democrats from the party. Some things are just not forgivable.

I think the Democratic Party is going to be suprised in November because "Change" is coming but it will not be in favor of Obama.

Did McCain and Bush even hear about Global Warming???
How is permission for more offshore drilling going to help US to move to renewable energy in a long run???
Because for sure, it will not help US in a short run as it will take at least 8 years for a single drop of oil to be produced from the new fields.

What an example of short thinking, lack of vision and leadership. McCain, you are completely out of touch with world problems. You should go retire now. I do not even think you deserve to be a senator. And no, its not because of your age, it is because you are not capable anymore.

R.I.F.   June 18th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

It's still way out and the polls are not too accurate execpt to show which states are probably battleground or safe for a candidate, but this thing definitly needs to be revised. Based on the way you calcutale it, I would at least change PA, WI, IA, MN, and CO to at a minimum leaning Obama based on the size of his lead. 10-12 point leads don't really make them a "jumpball" Again I know its early and polls change but I'm just going along with what you are attempting to do with this map.

Lee in WV   June 18th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Obama is going to re-write the electoral map.Hillary Clinton used all of those lines that no democrat since 1916 had won the Whitehouse with out winning WV.Well if you take the time to research some of this, yes every democrat won WV but they could have won easily without the 5 electoral votes. Most could have won without WV,Ky,Ohio and Penn all together. After all there are 50 states. All of you that insist in voting for McCain out of spite, contact the Red Cross and get some addresses of our soldiers killed after you vote and send them cards explaining your reasons to vote to keep the war going.

GOLLY!? Why isn't McCains stance on Russia and China and the G8 getting BIG coverage? If he would even consider asking Britain, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, and Italy about his 'plan'; you could hear, in 5 different languages, "Has he lost his marbles?"
Of course many GOP would vote Red if a rock was on the ticket, but they really should look at why (Google), viet nam veterans against McCain, made a website years ago to oppose him.
If his daddy wasn't an Admiral he would not have made flight school. then after crashing 2 planes, he was advanced to Captain over more experienced candidates.
At least Bush had an IQ and some charm, and was not a flip flopper.

Unable to comment on the Huckabee blog, so CNN let me do it here.

So Huckabee says not to attack Obama on his weakest points, but to challenge him on the issues. That would be great, but the American Public doesn't give a hoot abou the issues. We care about the man's
character and integrity. That is what we want in the President. We also want a loyal American and not some foreign tool that is controlled by outside forces. He is our President, not the president of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America. We need someone that will stand up to all foreign governments on principle and that person is John S. McCain.

There was no foul play from ANYONE that went to these districts. Maybe there was an isolated case somewhere, but it def. wasn't the norm. I know, I was actually there!

I for one like primaries better because it takes less time out of your day. But, you can't take away our voices either if "EVERY vote counts"
Sorry if you don't like the way it was done, but we voted too – so to say thousands and thousands of votes coming out of these states, but in the same breath talk about MI & FL is close-minded and hypocritical

I love all the CNN interactive tools, but I wish they'd stay more up to date. For example, I can see on TV that polls are showing Obama more ahead than the 6/13 poll on the CNN site shows.

I'm not surprised that the polls are changing. It's more clear than ever, after McFlipFlop's call for offshore drilling and Bush's echo today that if McCain were to win, it would be Bush's THIRD TERM.

No Bush Third Term!
No Bush 3rd Term!
No McBush!

richard   June 18th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Here is a thought. McFlip Flop = 3 points, Cindy =2 Obama = 3 and Michelle =2. Together 3+2=6 (only in politics), For every appearance in a state the points are awarded according. Maybe give 4 points if McFlip Flop or Obama are seen together with a respected public figure and 1 point if the respected person goes somewhere and speaks on behalf of their candidate. Now take the swing states and add up the math to see who is ahead based on visits to the state. Obama, to his credit, is building an electoral map that modifies the 1992 Clinton point/appearance strategy. Yet, Florida is a concern. Not enough appearances there. Of course this suggests that appearances are all that matters in politics. YET, they don't call it political SCIENCE for nothing. The mistake is to use only polls. Polls offer a snapshot of what is happening and INFLUENCE how many appearances (points) are needed to acheive the goal of winning in November. I am sure CNN can get a tally of appearances and tell us the answer as to what is happening on a point/appearance system.

Of course the formulas change once the VP candidates are picked.

I'm launching a national drive to host X-Box tournaments in every college dormatory across the nation on Election Day. How you like them apples, Obama?

Roofin Reality, Houston, Tx.   June 18th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

Nancy McKinney from 12:03, I'm absolutely disgusted at the way you would come on to this blog and suggest the truth. I mean, the gall you have to tell other women that Senator McCain hasn't really been on their side. That is just downright not right. No pun intended.

Whit   June 18th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

all you bloggers- get out of the house and canvass, make cal, stuff envelopes. the only way obama is winning is if all his supporters get active

Chris   June 18th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

Yes, Change is coming and Mccain will be the next president to make that happen. Mccain 2008! Vote character....vote the man and not the party!

Ron   June 18th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Never take anything for granted, especially electoral outcomes.

boered1   June 18th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

How can this be the moronic clintonistas told us that he could not change the electorial map he could only lose because she was old school and old school is better! Guess he was right about this also.. seems obama is right on just about everything he says maybe he is not as inexperianced as they claim maybe he really is as smart as he appears! but who could vote for him he is a n....r right? moronic clintonistas and foolish mccainnites cannot see the future but can only live in the past.. guess what the future is NOW get ready for it cause it is here!

NObama   June 18th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

Obama will not be president. This country is not as liberal and socialist as you would think when reading the rants of the extreme left. We need a moderate president who will protect us, not pander to our enemies. That president will be John McCain. Write it down.

Larry Sinclair   June 18th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

What are you not talking about me Obama?

ECHEWEOZO   June 18th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

Kiah   June 18th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Enlightened Voter -   June 18th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Over 375,000 jobs lost since january, over 1.2 million homes in foreclosure, over 4,500 soldiers killed in a senseless war, the world hates us. We can't afford john mcwar or any repub for that matter. BTW he voted against a bill requiring equal pay for women, the GI bill extending benefits for veterans and a bill to extend unemployment benefits. He could care less about americans or our problems. He just wants another war. And I guarentee you if he takes office we will be at war with Iran within a year.

Roger   June 18th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Change is coming! Change we can believe in!

McCain is going to be the next president!

Praise be to God!

Shane   June 18th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

WAY TO EARLY TO DO THIS.

Harold, SC   June 18th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

I was in a cab the other day and the driver said he had voted for GW, twice. I asked him why he voted for him the second time and he said " he was a little concerned, but that he didn't like Kerry". So now he is voting for Barack because he thinks there needs to be a change.

I personally don't care why people are voting for Barack just as long as they do. He is the best candidate and will make this country proud.

As far as Michelle Obama, she will make a great first lady, and I can't wait to have them represent me in the White House.

Obama 08/12

jmv   June 18th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

CNN'S ELECTORAL MAP IS NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
OBAMA IS FAR AHEAD AND MOVING MORE EVERYDAY.
EVERYDAY THE NEW POLLS SHOW AN EVER INCREASING LEAD IN THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE.
MCSAME'S NUMBERS ARE FALLING LIKE A ROCK!!

Nancy McKinney   June 18th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

To angry Hillary supporters:
Remember when a McCain supporter called Hillary the "B" word and HE LAUGHED!!! Please show Hillary some respect by rejecting this support of calling Hillary the "B" word

Also, a McCain supporter who raised $300,000 for McCain joked about women being raped, and McCain REFUSED TO RETURN THE MONEY!!!

Also, he voted AGAINST women having equal pay (look it up!!)

As a woman, and fellow Hillary supporter, I ask that you please show some respect for Hillary by rejecting this disrespectful behavior that McCain has exhibited towards women and vote for Obama!

JDC // Ohio   June 18th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

To Dems..."Change" is a return to worthless social (ism) programs like LBJ. They won't fly anymore. People are tired of taxes and waste.
Obama has a hard sell if this is his agenda (which it is!).

John G   June 18th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

Gald to see CNN/Pravda is consistent if not unbiased in their reporting of the news.

HULK   June 18th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

I love Bush and his style of politics. Lets keep him in office. If not Bush then Mccain for 08 then the other Bush in 2012

WeBoDave   June 18th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

Yea like NM not leaning McCain for example. Where did that come from anyway? I could do a better map. Real Clear Politics' map is superior.

Obama is the lord and Savior... a God for the Godless   June 18th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

The election is more than four stinking months away. Your poll is about as relevant as my tea leaves or crystal ball. Your poll and five bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Texan For Obama   June 18th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

These new polls out today are great news! But, we must not loosen the reigns. We must work harder than ever to ensure Barack holds and even extends his current leads.

Tell everyone you know (and those you dont) why Obama is what we need to CHANGE our country (its been a long time comming).
YES WE CAN

Brian Knoxville, TN   June 18th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go GET 'EM BAM BAM–YOU ARE THE CHANGE THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR, BABY!

disgusted   June 18th, 2008 11:59 am ET

I am one Hillary supporter who is disgusted at the stupidity of the CHANGE sheep. They are so easily sold on words, just words. Not even the candidates own words... change you can XEROX.

Hillary supporters UNITE for what is right! This was stolen from her and I will continue to work with PUMA (check it out) to make change by voting for McCain for Hillary in 2012.

McCain '08 for Clinton '12. WE MUST NEVER FORGET WHAT OBAMA'S THUGS DID TO US AT THE CAUCUSES.

Way too early... should do this more like Sept/Oct

MoveOn   June 18th, 2008 11:58 am ET

Another example of Cnn's one-sided reporting.. Where's the criticism of the REAL culprit – the DEMOCRATIC governor???? SHE is the REAL shame!

Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, an outspoken critic of FEMA's response to the hurricane, told CNN the supply giveaway was "just a shame."

"It's just another example of the failings of the federal bureaucracy," Landrieu said last week. She wrote Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to request an explanation.

FEMA Administrator David Paulison on Sunday defended the agency's decision, telling CNN that Louisiana had been offered some of the stockpiles, but that state officials had declined the goods.

spiderMAN   June 18th, 2008 11:58 am ET

COOL! yes we can

Enough Said

Seth in Jacksonville, FL   June 18th, 2008 11:57 am ET

To ALL Democrats – moderate or liberal, educated or uneducated, men or women, straight or gay, black, brown, or white, urban or rural, Clinton supporters or Obama supporters, and those in between:

Please recognize the importance of putting Obama in the White House and keeping McCain out of it. McCain does not share for many of the values and ideas we Democrats have. This is hugely important on so many levels.

These blogs are filled with phony comments from individuals who just want to divide and weaken our party. The PUMA people do exist, but they are far and few in between. They do not represent the true Democratic Party. We can see through this nasty taunting and baiting and come together this fall. I believe in us!

Bob Indianapolis, IN   June 18th, 2008 11:56 am ET

As Sam Cooke said, "A change is gonna come." See Red turn into Purple nationwide...

YES WE CAN! Change is coming!

Yes we can and yes we will!

We are fired up and ready to beat McSame!

Cathy   June 18th, 2008 11:55 am ET

I don't think any of the states are safe for McCain except Arizona. Obama has inspired a lot of new voters and I think this election will make history on more levels then one.

Democrat 110%

Billy Pilgrim   June 18th, 2008 11:55 am ET

That's a lot of yellow. I'm glad to see the contest will come down to more than just Florida and Ohio.

Harry   June 18th, 2008 11:55 am ET

I saw Obama and Gore in Detroit on Monday! It was a moving and inspiring time for me! He is one amazing man and WILL be going to the white house in the winter.

Tim   June 18th, 2008 11:54 am ET

Now its up to all of us to get out the vote. The Republican's greatest advantage has been our greatest weakness... apathy, especially among younger people. We just don't vote either because we're lazy or we think it won't matter anyway... well that all changes this year!!! Its time to stand up and make our government work for us again... the only way to do that is to elect Barack Obama and the only way to do that is to get all your friends to register and then vote. Yes, we absolutely can!

Jim   June 18th, 2008 11:52 am ET

YES IT IS CNN! YES IT IS! :-)

jean   June 18th, 2008 11:52 am ET

All clinton and obama backers must now unite to make a strong invincible democratic party to stop and change what 8 years of a rep. can do to a country. Lets all vote for the one who will change america for the people and not change america for the corporate world!!
