WASHINGTON (CNN) – Michelle Obama said that her “passion” might be her a “strength” or a “weakness,” as she pulled up a chair Wednesday to chat with women of “The View”.

“At some level when you put your heart out there, there’s a level of passion that you feel and it’s a risk that you take,” Michelle Obama about how some voters may have perceived her. “One of the things I’m counting on is that people will see through it…the more they get to know me.”

Obama’s appearance on the ABC talk show, comes as aides tell CNN she is honing her message for the general election.

WATCH How would Michelle Obama be as a first lady?

She also took time to applaud Hillary Clinton for breaking down the barriers that have held back women, which Obama said will in turn help her two young daughters succeed in the future.

“Hillary Clinton has, as she said, created 18 million cracks on a ceiling and we need to keep pushing it and pushing it,” Obama said. She also noted that Clinton has been on the receiving end of some unfair criticism because she is a woman.

“It’s hurtful, but she’s taken them so that my girls when they come along, they won’t have too feel it as badly.”

Strength!!! It was after hearing Michelle Obama speak in person that I really became involved in politics and this election.

Nancy McKinney   June 18th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

To angry Hillary supporters:
Remember when a McCain supporter called Hillary the "B" word and HE LAUGHED!!! Please show Hillary some respect by rejecting this support of calling Hillary the "B" word

Also, a McCain supporter who raised $300,000 for McCain joked about women being raped, and McCain REFUSED TO RETURN THE MONEY!!!

Also, he voted AGAINST women having equal pay (look it up!!)

As a woman, and fellow Hillary supporter, I ask that you please show some respect for Hillary by rejecting this disrespectful behavior that McCain has exhibited towards women and vote for Obama!

Pepou   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

Michelle Obama has everything going for her. She is brilliant, articulate, forceful and beautiful. She came from a very modest background and worked her way to become a successful individual. That should be applauded.
Between an heiress born with a silver spoon in the mouth and a beer bottle in the other and a self-made woman, my choice could not be clearer.

Mark Cross Junction VA   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

Maybe she would be proud to be a host of the "View" since she isn't to be a American. Obamas are a political joke.

You are strong, beautiful and loving, Michelle. We know that you will make and outstanding First Lady and continue to be an excellent other and wife during the process. I applaud you for being the wonderful woman that you are and for all the amazing things you will contribute to America during President Obama's tenure. Nothing but love for you, lovely Lady!!

Larry Kincaid   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

She's a very smart, well educated woman. People would do themselves a service to read up her background and achievements, rather than rehash the 10-second soundbytes on the cable news channels.

gary   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

She is a joke like her husband. They are only in this race because of racial remarks. If o.b. was white the DNC,press, media etc. wouldn't give him a fre ride and fix the race for him.Dont you O.B. supporters think it wasn't fixed. HRC wins a state and he gets endorsed. How fixed can it be. America gets what they ask for.

Seth in Jacksonville, FL   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I see her as taking a more active role in politics than Cindy McCain would. This is a positive thing - it would be great to have another First Lady who helps organize and supports national and community initiatives.

Laura Bush didn't do much of anything, and Cindy McCain wouldn't either, as she has already stated.

I am voting for Barack, not Michelle, but it would be a nice fringe benefit to have a First Lady who also brings something to the table.

Enlightened Voter -   June 18th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I am still not proud of my country, as a matter of fact I am ashamed of it for many reasons. THe world hates us (I have traveled quite a bit) and yet we berate Michelle for speaking her mind and take her words out of context. Be honest, you just don't want to like her cause she is probably smarter than you.

Obama supporters,

Watch out. I got a spy in on the underground political scene, and they brough me back a top secret file… guess what?

"PUMA" = "Petty Undercover McCain Agents"

Woah. That blew my mind.

A Democrat No More   June 18th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

Very insincere. Maybe she should explain why her husband chose to play golf rather than watch the woman who has done so much to help their girls move forward and beyond sexism.

We love you Michelle!!!!! You are going to be a great First Lady!!!

Eric   June 18th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

Strength or weakness it all depends on who's covering it. Main stream media will show it as a strength… Fox on the other hand will call it a weakness and talk about baby mama's, terrorist fist pumps, and butcher her quote about being proud of the country… hopefully people do their own research and take everything they hear/read with a grain of salt.

desari-independent   June 18th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Gotta give Michelle respect. She will be a wonderful role model for girls and women like hillary was, unlike cindy that just stands there and whispers some few words you can hardly here. Does this woman even have a backbone? no wonder her husband has the confidence to call her all sorts of nasty names.

That is our America right!

Now you must understand the once you bring your opinion into the political arena each and every word you say will be scrutinized.

And then don't complain when the GOP questions what you say.

Can't have it both ways.

Michelle Obama is a strong personality very much as Hillary Clinton was once seen. She is aggressive which rubs people the wrong way. In all likelyhood she should only be made public in highly controlled and scripted situations or she will provide a lot of gaffes for the media.

CHICANO ART, ARIZONA   June 18th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

I would view these statements regarding Hillary truly geniune if they were said while the race was still raging. I think Michelle Obama is a serious liability because she promotes Barrack as if he is a deity. Even Obama's internet ad with the rising sun is a metaphor for pagan gods of ancient times. When Michelle says America is lucky Barrack wants to be president there is something wrong.

Randy - Denver   June 18th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

A strength

but we are not voting on who will be first lady, we are voting on who will be our leader. Authough it would not matter in the final outcome which you are voting for the resul,ts would be the same. Mr. Obama outshines Mr. McCain and Ms. Obama outshines Ms. McCain either way the outcome is the same the Obama's taake the whitehouse, America improves and the McCains retire with their money and their outdated ideas of what America is about.

Women In California for Obama   June 18th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Michelle, they will find fault and criticize you no matter what you say or do so just keep it real and always be yourself. Those who want to hate you-so be it! You should never try to be someone you are not. I personally like a strong, determined woman. Even though I don't care for Hillary, I do like the fight in her. I don't like the way she fights but I do like the point she is a fighter. That is one of the reasons I have been drawn to you as well. You are a fighter. Only strong women survive. However, should you become too soft in this political play world, I might start to second guess you. Keep true to yourself. You are the only person YOU have to live with.

I find Michelle Obama a strong and amazing woman… she evokes Jackie for me - from her style to her substance.

The haters and posters who are really Republicans can say whatever they want (and I am sure they will) but I think this woman will make a fantastic first lady.

Compare her to Cindy McCain — an elitist, RICH woman who clearly doesn't care about breaking up families (don't forget, she's the woman McWomanizer left his first family for) and can't even supply a recipe for cookies without plagiarizing Betty Crocker… She looks like she's had so much BOTOX that she couldn't crack a smile if she wanted to.

Michelle is a strong, intelligent, motivated, family-oriented, motherly and BEAUTIFUL woman. Oh, and yes, she's black. SO FREAKING WHAT!

I'm a 50+ old white woman and I think Michelle Obama will be a great first lady!

It'll be interesting to see how Clintondroids respond to this.

Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are women of power and authority. Both have received unfair criticisms, primarily because of their sex. As a man myself, I'm highly offended by this, and I believe in women being able to have authority, without having to take flak for it. I have a sister who is in an administrative position in Financial Aid in Mount Carmel College of Nursing. She happens to be Black. She seems to take more flak than anyone in the company - and she does her job with excellence.

Hillary Clinton has never said anything negative about Michelle Obama and Michelle is giving Hillary the same respect. I have more respect for Michelle Obama than I could ever have for Cindy McCain. If you don't know the real Cindy McCain, then you should, and you will find she of all people can't say anything negative about Michelle Obama which she has. Michelle didn't respond to Cindy's attacks because she knew Cindy's unforgettable history would make her back off.

Take away all of the money for Michelle and Cindy and set them both out on a mission to make 1 million dollars, who do you think would earn it first?
If you were in court which would you want to defend you if you had the need?.
If you were hanging over the side of a cliff by a rope which one would you want on the other end of that rope trying to save your life?
I could not think of any situation that I would want Cindy over Michelle Obama and the same goes for their husbands.

At least she's not a statue staring adoringly (a la Nancy Reagen) at her husband with a sickening grin on her surgically altered plastic face. Hey Cindy, heres some advice. Go home, bake cookies (from your plagiarized recipe) and host tea parties like all Republican wives. Don't forget to spend some time in front of the mirror practicing that vacant stare.

She's also a professor at Franklin University - she teaches Business Administration. When she does On-line teaching, she rarely gets a single bad review. However, whenever she does face-to-face, she gets horrible reviews from some of her students. And the accusations are never true. It's not that she does a bad job, she's an excellent professor. It's because she's a black woman, and people (primarily white men) feel threatened by that fact. She is constantly called angry, arrogant, someone who thinks she has something to prove; these are the exact same accusations and ridicules that Michelle Obama receives because she's a successful lawyer, and is the wife of an exceedingly successful man.

Those who speak of Hillary Clinton's being ridiculed for being a woman of excellence and authority need to think of this: Is it right to ridicule Michelle Obama over trivial things, use false items such as church tapes against her, criticize her every word, and mock her success because she's a black woman, and then turn around and condemn every person who has anything negative to say of Hillary Clinton? Michelle Obama may not be running for President, but she deserves just as much respect as you demand us as Obama supporters to give to Hillary Clinton.

It's not that she's black, it's not that she's a woman, it's not that she just another lawyer in politics………………………. it's her comments, upbringing in the Wright/wrong brainwash, that scares the bejeezus out of me.

There are blacks, there are women and there are black women that could be first lady or even run this country and do a fine job, just not this one.

I don't trust what she and her husband say.

Lastly, if they were to make their promises come true, where is the money coming from? I own my own small business and the taxes of today are killing me. Their plans will cause me too much harm. Barack's history of "tax reform" and plans for an even bigger change combined with his 100 times voting "present" are too extreme for me.

No thanks, NObama.

Unfair! Undemocratic! Fraud Process!

Dennis Thompson   June 18th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

To Michelle Obama,

Do not change. Be authentic. Tell people how you "made" it in life, and that the path is open for them as well. Speak to young people with "how to do it" messages. Carve out a policy niche for yourself, and that niche might very well be how to succeed as a young person in the face of significant obstacles, whether they be racial, economic, cultural or other.

JJ   June 18th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

I hope people really take time out and get to know this woman. She is an excellent story (along with Clinton) of how a woman can accomplish anything they put their minds to. Michelle is a beautiful and intelligent lady who is proud to be an American!

Krishnan   June 18th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

I found her comments about how proud she was about this country very troubling. I do not buy "she misspoke". An african american student who was admitted to Princeton and then Harvard and then to a successful career as an attorney in Chicago and she is only "now proud"??

She does come across as an angry, race individual. I am so disappointed. Is that what the "Ivy leagues" do? Teach them to become bitter BECAUSE they had access to the best education? Perhaps then the education was not "best".

Republicans need to carefully tread this issue, but explore this and related issue.

Michelle Obama may be that "Jesse Jackson who won in South Carolina" that Bill Clinton was talking about.

Dear A Democrat no more:

The world does not revolve around Hillary and her 2 hours late concessions speech. Maybe if she got out of her McMansion sooner and started her speech at 11:00am instead of 1pm, he could have caught it at home. Just because you hav no life does not mean the rest of us don't. Last I heard there are TV's in club houses at the golf, and it could be caught as a live stream on a computer or ever hear of TIVO.

Jeannie, Sacramento, CA   June 18th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

What is personal stength, anyway? Isn't it a definition of how one beats the hurdles to success with dignity and poise, leaving no dead bodies behind? Michelle Obama, unfortunately, has burned a few bridges after commenting that only now is she proud of America after her husband, a black man, and his charisma mobilized millions of new voters. It begs the question of what she felt about our nation before then.

Jerry   June 18th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

To Nancy McKinney - We also remember Obama patronizingly dismissing a female reporter in Detroit as "Sweetie" and one of his surrogates calling Hillary a "Monster".

All this "Let's love Hillary and give her respect" stuff is too little too late. We expected sexism from McCain and the Republicans, not from Obama and fellow Democrats. THAT's the difference.

To hear her make nice comments about HIllary makes me absolutely sick to my stomach when we all know how she really feels about her.

Nice how they both play the typical political game when they are supposed to DIFFERENT. Really

She is a cocky, arrogant, hateful woman and for no other reason, I will vote for Mccain as I wouldn't be able to look at her for the next four years as first lady.

The great thing about Michelle is that she stands out; she's a free thinker. Her vulnerability is that she stands out; she's a free thinker.

It's worth the risk.

No fear.

Slavery. Zoot suit riots. Indian reservations. Japanese interment camps. Turning away of a boat full of Jewish refugees during WWII. Abu Gahraib. PATRIOT Act. Torture. Abuse. A war of aggression in a country that was no threat to us.

A Black / Bi-racial presidential nominee.

For the first time in MY life I am truly proud of my country.

But I don't believe somebody's words.

And what I hear I didn't like at all.
Arrogant, angry person.
The way she behaves, talk - it's more for fights, barricades not for 1st lady.
And how she always complained about her hard life.
Rediculouse. Many people had more hard life than she had.
I don't like neither her, nor her husband - he never get my vote

a strength, those racist who do not support obama because he is black will not support him if his wife was cindy mccain (more likely they would hate him more for it!) and before all you foolish mccainnites say they are not racist take a look at the buttons and t-shirts being sold out there now that show obama as a monkey and do not tell me you do not know what that means I spent enough time down south to know what that means!

finally for those clintonistas and obama supporters who compare Michelle to hillary STOP! there is NO COMPARISON. hillary is a lying pandering pawn of the lobbyist whereas Michelle is a strong woman with intelligence and character who can speak the truth, who raised herself up from a poor family to the wife of the future president of the us not someone who was raised with money and got her political start off her husbands coattails and has NEVER done anything worthwhile, we will NOT forget her union bashing while serving wal-mart nor her lies about Bosnia, we will not forget her ties to whitewater nor her "lost files" we will NOT forget she is a liar and evil not now and not in 2016 when she has a chance to run again!

And what really amazes me about this country, especially when it comes to politics, is how real and authentic people are seen as phonies and how complete phonies are seen as real and authentic. People in this country have become so shallow and superficial that they have no real judgement and discernment. That's how we ended up with George Bush for eight years. People don't even take the time to do research and really search out anything anymore, we just let the media and political pundits tell us what to think. And then we go off on these half-cocked rants. But I'm still holding out hope that we as a human race, especially in the United States, will re-discover that we have individual brains and can actually THINK LOGICALLY for ourselves…But hope is fading fast…

Bitter - New Orleans, LA   June 18th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

To Gary at 1240pm.. U have no clue what you're talking about. He got endorsed because he was way ahead in the delegate count and no way for her to possibly catch up. her winning west virginia and puerto rico was not going to change the outcome. the leaders of the party understood who was ahead and decided the best thing to do was start the healing process.

put it like this… had she convinced party leaders to overturn the results of the primaries, the situation would be A LOT worse than anything you can possibly imagine–way worse than a few republicans posing as angry clinton supporters. They did the right thing.

Jennifer   June 18th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Some of those hurtful comments based on being a woman that Michelle says paved the way for her own girls came from her husband's camp, and in particular his supporters. She could at least have said shame on those who said it

Joe G   June 18th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Michelle Obama has a HUGE chip on her shoulder.

The woman went to the best schools in the world. She and her family live in a mansion on the South side of Chicago (with the help of Tony Rezco). Her daughters go to private schools. Her husband also went to the best schools in the world and was elected a United States Senator. She and her family could never ever ever be as successful in any other country.

But this is the first time in her adult life she's proud??? There's something deeply wrong with this woman.

Hey Al,
Your an idiot Nancy Reagan was a wonderful and very accomplished first lady. Most Obama supporters need to back off, they are alienating everyone. When you bash people with a sound bite that has no basis in fact you are an idiot. Keep it up and Obama will lose because you are exactly the opposite of Obama's message and many people can't look at a candidate and his supporters seperately. So if you are behind Obama be BEHIND HIS MESSAGE wise up or lose out in November.

Jon, Obama was sandbagging in Illinois, that was good enough for this Des Moines, Iowan. Also, I received an email from his website with important government numbers to call if I need them. More than McCain or Bush ever did for me.

McCain needs to step very lightly around Michelle, from what I hear is his wife had a drug problem??? Last thing we need in the white house is a first lady with drug issues.

If you are a black person and know the history of America what is there REALLY to be feeling so proud about in the first place. Black Americans were enslaved and brutalized, even after slavery were hung from trees like fruit . The way this country has treated Blacks is is she suppose to be proud of that.

The people who criticize her for her "proud" remarks are not black and have not had their kind brutalized and dehumanized.

If I was white I would be proud of America too ALL THE TIME.

I have absolute respect and admiration for you Mrs. Obama. It is a shame that so many people cannot look past your skin color and sound bites. If they had the ability then they would realize that as a woman, mother, wife, and professional, you are a phenomenal role model and worthy of admiration and respect. To bad, they do not take the time to find out about your humble beginnings. Perhaps they have more in common with you then they want to admit. It's strange how they cannot find anything negative to say about you other then a statement that is taken out of context. They NEVER mention that although Mrs. McCain always had access to tremendous wealth - and they call you elitist - she was an admitted drug addict and she stole the drugs from a charity she directed and used them while mothering four young children. Now even though that is documented and she has admitted it, why doesn't the average Obama hater know this. What are they actually hating? Hmmm. I'm so happy that many of our children are able to look beyond race. Perhaps their parents will learn a lesson.
Love you Senator and Mrs. Obama

Michelle Obama's brother got into Princeton on an athletic and academic scholarship. At that moment she decided that if he could…she could too. Where I think it is a fine thing that two minorities have moved as far ahead in the primaries as they have…I am offended at the complaints that Hilary Clinton was picked on because she was a woman. That she has taken these hits for the sake of future generations of women…how condensending…I will say that she has taken these comments and political barbs like a professional politician, which is what she presents herself to be in the face of the American Public.

And when we as the American Public recognize that…then women will have equal standing to men.

Rich in Seattle   June 18th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

I love it how Clinton supporters are going over to McCain and then I see something like this.

Republicans (both women and men) love Laura Bush and Cindy McCain because they let the men folk do the talking. Women folk should be putting up recipes and talking about children and such.

Anytime you get a strong woman, i.e. Hillary, Teresa Kerry, and now Michelle Obama who speaks their mind or have opinion of their own. They get attacked. They get called names.

So for all those women Clinton supporters supporting McCain. Be nice little girls and don't make too much of a fuss, otherwise they will turn on you too. Look at their actions, not their words! Look at who you are really supporting and understand exactly what/who you are voting for.

As an Obama supporter, after reading these blogs for months the more these stupid comments stand, more people accept them as facts and run with it. It 's time to call these posers out. I know full well that there are PLENTY of folks out there who can't stand to see a WEALTHY, INTELLIGENT, STRONG, POWERFUL SISTA doing her thing. They are gonna hate on Mrs. Obama no matter what because they expect to see her with six kids and four different baby daddies instead of being married to the next POTUS.

I KNOW what Michelle meant when she said this is the first time in her adult life that she was really proud of your country. The nerve of some people to expect black people to forget all the racism we've faced and continue to face just because we obtain Ivy League degrees and high-paying jobs.

I admire Mrs. Obama's strength, intelligence, and grace. I too am an Ivy-league educated lawyer married to a lawyer. I feel her pain. MRS. Krishnan - it is obvious that you are not an African American. Regardless if she accomplished all those things in America what price did she have to pay. How many times was she mistreated because of her race while on the rise? How many times was she called the N word while on her rise? How many beatings did she witness, the American government, brandishing on her race while on her rise? While on her rise she had to endure the endless fairy tales of American hero's that murdererd, raped, stole and committed genocide against her race while on her rise?

There are still parts of America where an African American can't go without feeling safe simply because of their race, so what is there to be proud of in America? We witnessed Martin Luther King being killed and emotionally beaten down by this government, but now he is an American hero. Today we can be proud because of Dr. Kings dream of having a man respected based on the context of his character as opposed to the color of his skin. That is something to finally be proud of.

Independent   June 18th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Michelle Obama in no way impresses me. Sorry and it has nothing to do with skin color because in my book the only thing greater than a president breaking the mold of the traditional would be to have that mold broken with racial and gender barriers at the same time. Unfortunately the more I observe the Obamas the more I realize how we are overlooking other incredibly gifted African-Americans in favor of Obama's so called "charisma." I am personally excited about what the future may hold for Governor Patterson of New York - this appears to be a really talented man of substance and he is African-Amercian and legally blind - Move over Obamas and let other great Americans shine. Up with substance down with fluff and mediocrity!

I would love to be in Michelle Obama shoes right now, she has the perfect life– a perfect husband-(President), two beautiful children, a great career. Michelle is a great mother and wife who is very strong. I bet it is very hard to stand behind your husband who is running for president while people are slinging mud at him. Some people want to continue to put her down because she made 1 comment that they don't agree with, at least she was not addicted to percriptions drugs and stole from her volunteer organization like Cindy McCain, or cheated on her spouse like Bill Clinton.

Exactly, this is exactly how Hillary was treated for as a first lady as well.
Heaven forbid we have a strong-minded outspoken woman in this day and age. What has the world come to?

As for Michelle's - First time being proud comments. Everyone knows what she meant even Laura Bush defended her. I love how people can use fear and twist things and take them out of context to their liking. That's how we got Bush TWICE.

McCain supports tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and more tax breaks for big oil companies.

How can we say this man fights for most Americans?

It's about time Michelle Obama acknowledged Sen Clinton as a leader for women evrywhere. She's changed her tune from the time she made the outlandishly mean comment that if Sen Clinton could not maintain her own house how could she maintain the White House? She wouldn't have asked that of John Kennedy or Franklin Roosevelt. No French person would have been silly enough to have made such a comment to Mitterand. Michelle needs some seasoning before she can take on the role of First Lady.

THE WORLD IS WATCHING *HOPE IS COMING   June 18th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Maybe if you STOP critizing her and listen to what she's saying you would understand………

Why is Michelle considered unpatriotic just because she spoke about her true life experiences here in americia………

Have you ever not been picked for something because you had red hair.

Have you ever had someone tell you to your face they didn't want to be your roommate because your WHITE.

Have you ever been in a public setting and felt alienated because of being fat, black , poor , ugly, BEING A WOMEN or just different………

WELL MICHELLE HAS………AND IT HURTS…….

Before you judge her understand we all have different experiences …………………..however JUST BECAUSE MICHELLE SPEAKS ABOUT HER EXPERIENCES DOESN'T MEAN SHE IS RACIST, OR UNPATRIOTIC it means that some AMERICANS ARE.

YES SLAVERY IS OVER or is it…………………………………..

STOP THE HURT

OBAMA

Maybe she would be proud to be a host of the "View" since she isn't to be a American. Obamas are a political joke.

Mark, the only joke here is how blind you are to the change necessary…and boy, is that change coming…..

That's her problem. We do see through her. She went to schools she didn't deserve to go to and she hates America.

So I guess its okay for you to accuse Michelle Obama of not deserving to get into the schools she got into, but its perfectly acceptable for McCain to get into the Naval Academy because of his lineage, only to show his gratitude by graduating fifth from the bottom of 499 graduates? It's okay for Cindy to live like a queen off a fortune she didn't build? It seems to me that your accusations of entitlement are turned in the wrong direction.

Michelle is very educated and intelligent but that does not compensate for the fact that she is an arrogant elitist. She thinks her husband is the savior. What i have to say is i have not seen a new politics with her or her husband. Change is not words it is action. Make a statement on the flood victims in Chicago then send a contribution or urge others to do so. See that is action-real change-not rocket science is it.?

Her true colors will show through before November and everyone will flock to McCain.

she'll make a wonderful first- lady.she will inspire many women, who have slid between the cracks of the women's movement.

Such a decent individual.

I love Mrs. Obama. She is very much a role model to young women like myself. I commend her for her strength and authenticity. Many people like to hang on to sound bites and use them out of context, but that is not my concern. I'm sure Michelle Obama will be another role model for women and families.

Krishnan…..I don't know if you are racist or not but your comment makes you sound that way. First you mention an "african American" being admitted to Princeton and Harvard and having a successful career like it wasn't exactly what should have happened to an "african american" and then you call her a race individual and mention somewhat jealously perhaps her having access to the best education. Do you not think that black people are just as entitled to a great as education as white people? Are you perhaps an angry race individual????

People make no sense   June 18th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

I've personally met both Hillary and Michelle. I do not feel for Hillary on a personal level. I've seen her mean streak. However, I do respect her and her accomplishments. Morally she is a very scary woman, but she embraces that cut throat corporate mentality that I so dislike in anybody. I think she is a very beautiful and intelligent woman. Some people aren't meant to lead, and I think she demonstrated her leadership abilities with how disorganized her campaign was run.

Michelle Obama has the same characteristics as Hillary. However, she appears more real to me. I have not personally witnessed any unfavorable behavior from her because I mostly dealt with the Clinton's for my business.

Once again, she said she is now REALLY proud to be an American right now. Some of you should be honest with yourselves and think about a time or two when you weren't very proud to be an American. Oh, like maybe when people in New Orleans weren't getting any aide what so ever after Hurricane Katrina. I wasn't extremely proud at that time.

Truth be told.. it was Michelle that got me interested in this race to begin with.. I mean as an african american women, when i heard that Mr. Obama was running I thought well.. he probably wont get very far… but one day i heard her on the radio.. and wow.. the was she talked about her man(even before i actually heard HIM speak..that was just the clincher) and the way she carried her strength via radio? wow again.. and still wow!..i have never heard any politition's wife speek so candidly and and with conviction about her husband. ever. i was sold on him through her. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU R DOING MICHELLE.. WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK GIRL!!! for me and my daughers too!

Carol   June 18th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Big PR stunt - trying to change her image.

She's arrogant, obnoxious and over-bearing. The Obama campaign would be better served by trying to hide her than push her down our throats.

This "Jackie Kennedy" baloney is getting annoying. She's more like Joan Rivers or Kathy Griffin - loud, negative, and nobody really cares what she thinks.

I like Obama, but gawd, how did he ever get mixed up with this one?

Rob   June 18th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Someone please ask the Obamas why women in headscarves are prohibited from sitting within camera view of Barack at campaign stops in Detroit.

How do you spell fraud?
