GARY & THE REST OF YOU DORKS THAT ARE CRITICIZING MRS. OBAMA, BE HONEST YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HER EXCEPT TNAT SHE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL, AN ATTORNEY, A PROFESSIONAL, ARTICULATE. AND MORE THAN QUALIFIED TO BE FIRST LADY. SHE MET THAT STANDARD ON THE DAY THAT SHE WAS BORN AN AMERICAN CITIZEN. CINDY McCAIN ALSO POSESSES SOME OF THESE SAME QUALITIES AND SHE IS EQUALLY QUALIFIED. YOU NAY SAYERS WANT TO FOCUS ON AND BLOW UP THE "NEVER AS PROUD" COMMENT. WHY ARE YOU NOT AS FOCUSED ON MRS. MCCAIN'S DRUG ADDICTION AND UNAUTHORIZED USE OF FUNDS BELONGING TO A CHAIRTY THAT SHE WAS AFFIALIATED WITH?
Get a life you and you kind are no longer relevant, liked, needed, wanted or tolerated in American society. CHANGE YOUR HEART OR MOVE.

She is nothing but a double faced fool who said what she really meant and then tried to cover it up. She has been brainwashed in that evil church and if she gets to the White House, she will certainly try to influence Obama to ruin his few good qualities. Why is she now trying to "change" her image to get ready for general elections? Is that to fool even more people? No need, Michelle Obama! You husband has done a pretty good job of fooling many; you can just stand back and watch the revolution happen! Yes, I did say the "revolution"! This country is sure in need of one!!!

Strong women are viewed negatively when they are strong. What HRC and Micelle get delt, happens in every company, home and church in America. I respect them both...they will need to be even stronger to break the bias against women in leadership. Thank Hillary and Michelle...keep helping leave this notion that strong women are unacceptable in the USA.

How much of a cheapskate do you have to be to not be willing to give Michelle Obama the benefit of the doubt regarding her "proud for the first time in my adult life" comment? My understanding of this is that she used the word "really" in one speech, as in really proud, but accidentally left it out in another speech. And if there is an obvious context for her remarks, i.e. how happy she is to see a much higher level of participation in the political process this year than she has ever seen, then any criticism of her for saying this is unnecessarily harsh and puritanical.

Not to ignore the fact that African-Americans have a much different history and contemporary experience in this society than white people do, but to me it is obvious that she was not referring to the overall history of this country but rather the fact that so many more people are participating in the political process this year than they used to. So to criticize her for this is to deliberately ignore the context in which she said it.

I also don't buy the silly notion that just because she went to an Ivy League school, she is somehow more perfect than the rest of us and is immune to mis-speaking, and therefore must have meant exactly what she said, in the worst possible way that you can read into it. I don't care if you're a high school dropout or an Ivy League graduate, your words won't always come out right.

Let's give her the benefit of the doubt on this, just as we give McCain the benefit of the doubt when he says he will "veto all beers". :)

It is a simple and pure lie when she/he praised Hillary.

I was wondering if the university used the same admission requirements for Obamas when they were admitted into university.

It will be a tragedy in US history if this women becomes the first lady...

If, for 20 years, she has attended the same church as her husband, no wonder the woman is filled with anger and bitterness.

Let me see now, Jackie Kennedy's function was bringing style into the White House, Nancy Reagan advocated saying no to drugs, Hillary Clinton pushed for socialized medicine, Laura Bush promotes better education, and Michelle Obama will work for... slavery reparations?

But why must a First Lady, like Miss America, have an agenda or platform easily understood by media numbskulls? I don't care if Michelle Obama or Cindy McCain read books and practice the piano for four years, but I care what their husbands do to keep my taxes and government from growing faster than my income, and to keep me covered by United States, rather than Sharia, laws.

I'm not voting for "first spouse," but if I were I'm glad Hillary is out of the race.

To those of you who are trying to make Michelle Obama some sort of demon because of her proud of her country statement I would like to remind you that your so called patriotic president has done more damage to this country then any "miscontstrued comment" could EVER DO.
Take a gander at our country and tell me what GWBush's alleged patriotisim has done for us?
Cuz if this is what you all call patriotisim then we need something NEW

Nothing she says now can change the disrespect she has shown to Clinton and her supporters in the past. Clearly she would like all Clinton supporters to vote for Obama. Clearly she recognizes that she needs to change her message so that it is more palatable to the majority. Only a fool would believe the Obamas' message is anything more than a political ploy to get more votes. All his photo-ops (crying coed, riding a bicycle, shoveling sand, blowing his nose, etc) cannot change my mind: he is a phony, an inexperienced, do-nothing, say whatever for a vote phony. Nothing she can say will change who she is: bitter racist. I may not like John McCain's policies but I trust him to do what is right and work with a Democratic Congress. I see no reason to believe Obama will work with anyone unless he believes it is to his political advantage. Convince me I am wrong, but it will take more than a million photo-ops.

Some will always see the strength of a candidates wife as a positive and some will see a candidates wife as a weakness. Either way you see it Michelle Obama is a strong, intelligent and articulate woman. She is unlike others before her. She is her own woman. She is supportive of her husband in his endeavor to become President. Her strength is her positive or weakness depending on which side of the fence you sit.

If experierience were that important, then we should have a Cheney/Rumsfeld ticket since they have more of it than anybody.

I will be so glad when the PUMA supporters finally unplug their doublewides and haul them back into Appalachia where they can spend time with their husband/brother or wife/sister. [Cue "Dueling Banjos" theme music from the movie Deliverance]

She's arrogant, obnoxious and over-bearing. The Obama campaign would be better served by trying to hide her than push her down our throats.

This "Jackie Kennedy" baloney is getting annoying. She's more like Joan Rivers or Kathy Griffin - loud, negative, and nobody really cares what she thinks.

I like Obama, but gawd, how did he ever get mixed up with this one?

Once again, she said she is now REALLY proud to be an American right now. Some of you should be honest with yourselves and think about a time or two when you weren't very proud to be an American. Oh, like maybe when people in New Orleans weren't getting any aide what so ever after Hurricane Katrina. I wasn't extremely proud at that time.

I've personally met both Hillary and Michelle. I do not feel for Hillary on a personal level. I've seen her mean streak. However, I do respect her and her accomplishments. Morally she is a very scary woman, but she embraces that cut throat corporate mentality that I so dislike in anybody. I think she is a very beautiful and intelligent woman. Some people aren't meant to lead, and I think she demonstrated her leadership abilities with how disorganized her campaign was run.

Michelle Obama has the same characteristics as Hillary. However, she appears more real to me. I have not personally witnessed any unfavorable behavior from her because I mostly dealt with the Clinton's for my business.

Krishnan.....I don't know if you are racist or not but your comment makes you sound that way. First you mention an "african American" being admitted to Princeton and Harvard and having a successful career like it wasn't exactly what should have happened to an "african american" and then you call her a race individual and mention somewhat jealously perhaps her having access to the best education. Do you not think that black people are just as entitled to a great as education as white people? Are you perhaps an angry race individual????

I love Mrs. Obama. She is very much a role model to young women like myself. I commend her for her strength and authenticity. Many people like to hang on to sound bites and use them out of context, but that is not my concern. I'm sure Michelle Obama will be another role model for women and families.

Michelle is very educated and intelligent but that does not compensate for the fact that she is an arrogant elitist. She thinks her husband is the savior. What i have to say is i have not seen a new politics with her or her husband. Change is not words it is action. Make a statement on the flood victims in Chicago then send a contribution or urge others to do so. See that is action-real change-not rocket science is it.?

So I guess its okay for you to accuse Michelle Obama of not deserving to get into the schools she got into, but its perfectly acceptable for McCain to get into the Naval Academy because of his lineage, only to show his gratitude by graduating fifth from the bottom of 499 graduates? It's okay for Cindy to live like a queen off a fortune she didn't build? It seems to me that your accusations of entitlement are turned in the wrong direction.

Mark, the only joke here is how blind you are to the change necessary...and boy, is that change coming.....

Maybe if you STOP critizing her and listen to what she's saying you would understand.........

Why is Michelle considered unpatriotic just because she spoke about her true life experiences here in americia.........

Have you ever not been picked for something because you had red hair.

Have you ever had someone tell you to your face they didn't want to be your roommate because your WHITE.

Have you ever been in a public setting and felt alienated because of being fat, black , poor , ugly, BEING A WOMEN or just different.........

WELL MICHELLE HAS.........AND IT HURTS.......

Before you judge her understand we all have different experiences .......................however JUST BECAUSE MICHELLE SPEAKS ABOUT HER EXPERIENCES DOESN'T MEAN SHE IS RACIST, OR UNPATRIOTIC it means that some AMERICANS ARE.

YES SLAVERY IS OVER or is it.........................................

It's about time Michelle Obama acknowledged Sen Clinton as a leader for women evrywhere. She's changed her tune from the time she made the outlandishly mean comment that if Sen Clinton could not maintain her own house how could she maintain the White House? She wouldn't have asked that of John Kennedy or Franklin Roosevelt. No French person would have been silly enough to have made such a comment to Mitterand. Michelle needs some seasoning before she can take on the role of First Lady.

Exactly, this is exactly how Hillary was treated for as a first lady as well.
Heaven forbid we have a strong-minded outspoken woman in this day and age. What has the world come to?

As for Michelle's - First time being proud comments. Everyone knows what she meant even Laura Bush defended her. I love how people can use fear and twist things and take them out of context to their liking. That's how we got Bush TWICE.

McCains votes aginst women's equal pay and supports overturning Roe vs. Wade

McCain votes against the hurricane Katrina probe twice to see how it was handled

McCain votes against the GI bill to help troops returning home from war

McCain supports tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and more tax breaks for big oil companies.

How can we say this man fights for most Americans?

I would love to be in Michelle Obama shoes right now, she has the perfect life-- a perfect husband-(President), two beautiful children, a great career. Michelle is a great mother and wife who is very strong. I bet it is very hard to stand behind your husband who is running for president while people are slinging mud at him. Some people want to continue to put her down because she made 1 comment that they don't agree with, at least she was not addicted to percriptions drugs and stole from her volunteer organization like Cindy McCain, or cheated on her spouse like Bill Clinton.

She is a joke like her husband. They are only in this race because of racial remarks. If o.b. was white the DNC,press, media etc. wouldn't give him a fre ride and fix the race for him.Dont you O.B. supporters think it wasn't fixed. HRC wins a state and he gets endorsed. How fixed can it be. America gets what they ask for.

Insult Michelle Obama as you will. But why do it? What has Michelle Obama done to elicit so much condemnation and in some cases, hate? And please really think about your answer.

JimBlanco, not funny, buddy. Please respect people who are actually trying to better this world and leave your crude perspectives out of this forum. Michelle Obama is a one in a million woman. What have you done for your community?

Michelle Obama in no way impresses me. Sorry and it has nothing to do with skin color because in my book the only thing greater than a president breaking the mold of the traditional would be to have that mold broken with racial and gender barriers at the same time. Unfortunately the more I observe the Obamas the more I realize how we are overlooking other incredibly gifted African-Americans in favor of Obama's so called "charisma." I am personally excited about what the future may hold for Governor Patterson of New York - this appears to be a really talented man of substance and he is African-Amercian and legally blind - Move over Obamas and let other great Americans shine. Up with substance down with fluff and mediocrity!

Krishnan... for someone that claims to have gone to Harvard and Princeton, you definitely do not make intelligent comments. My child that is an elementary school understands that Michelle's comment was taken out of context.

Unfortunately, it's people like you that always view the world as half empty rather than half full.

Krishnan - it is obvious that you are not an African American. Regardless if she accomplished all those things in America what price did she have to pay. How many times was she mistreated because of her race while on the rise? How many times was she called the N word while on her rise? How many beatings did she witness, the American government, brandishing on her race while on her rise? While on her rise she had to endure the endless fairy tales of American hero's that murdererd, raped, stole and committed genocide against her race while on her rise?

There are still parts of America where an African American can't go without feeling safe simply because of their race, so what is there to be proud of in America? We witnessed Martin Luther King being killed and emotionally beaten down by this government, but now he is an American hero. Today we can be proud because of Dr. Kings dream of having a man respected based on the context of his character as opposed to the color of his skin. That is something to finally be proud of.

Don't even say anything nice to Senator Clinton. You never like her and all this, is just to gather our votes to the Obama's. There's no way that I will vote for Obama, not because he is black but because he is not the most ideal and experienced candidate..And don't brand me as a racist, I am neither black or white.
****************************************************************************

You don't have to be black or white to be racist! Is that what you think? Racism comes in all kinds of shades against all kinds of peoople. As far as Michelle liking Hillary, I think the only two people who know how they feel about each other are the two of them.

To Michael,

Are you some kind of predjudice fool. How can you say that a person did not deserve to go to a school. This is the kind of language that is keeping America seperated. You should be a shame of yourself making such a predjudice. You bigot.

I know full well that there are PLENTY of folks out there who can't stand to see a WEALTHY, INTELLIGENT, STRONG, POWERFUL SISTA doing her thing. They are gonna hate on Mrs. Obama no matter what because they expect to see her with six kids and four different baby daddies instead of being married to the next POTUS.

I KNOW what Michelle meant when she said this is the first time in her adult life that she was really proud of your country. The nerve of some people to expect black people to forget all the racism we've faced and continue to face just because we obtain Ivy League degrees and high-paying jobs.

I admire Mrs. Obama's strength, intelligence, and grace. I too am an Ivy-league educated lawyer married to a lawyer. I feel her pain. MRS. OBAMA ISN'T ANGRY OR UNPATRIOTIC, SHE JUST SPOKE FROM HER HEART AND MADE PEOPLE HAVE TO FACE THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS COUNTRY'S PAST. TOO MANY WANT TO FORGET ABOUT THE PAST.

YOU JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING 'CHELLE. PLAY THE GAME AND STICK WITH YOUR MAN ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!! YOU GO, GIRL!!!!

Dear Jon:

Obama wanted to visit the Iowa last week and was asked to cancel his trip so that resources can be put to the task at hand. It was a CNN ticker, look it up!! Why don't you call the White house and ask the current resident to do a fly over.

As an Obama supporter, after reading these blogs for months the more these stupid comments stand, more people accept them as facts and run with it. It 's time to call these posers out. Send them back to the McCain and Limbaugh ( my brain on drugs) boards where they belong. I come to CNN to converse with intellects not the hooked on phonics crowd.

Look at some of the nasty comments. Obama is ahead and the more ahead he gets the more the Republicans post their nasty comments. It is what the party does. It is also why I am a Democrat. Sad thing is that Republicans try to make a point that they are better Christians. I have not seen proof of that yet. Only evil. Only evil.
