Fellow Obama supporters:

This is great news but lets keep in mind that only a small sample was used to come up with these numbers. We still have a long way to go and there are still a lot of ignorant, racist and uneducated people out there that will claim they're Democrats but vote McCain.

Let's hope this trend continues and Barack keeps winning the swing states. This is one of the most important elections in history and we can't afford to lose it.

Even if a sizable percentage of Hillary supporters vote for McCain, Obama can still win handily.

Just look at the primary vote totals, with Hillary AND Barack often doubling McCain's vote total, and you can see why. If Obama can break even with independents, then we could see a landslide.

Obama will get at least 300 electoral votes, maybe as many as 320.

CNN has ommited possibly critical demographics in this poll,
for example:

Though, Obama leads McCain 10 to 23 percentage points among women in these 3 states, the male vote is too close to call.
Also Obama acutally trails among white voters in Florida and Ohio, though he gets more than 90 percent of black voters in each state.

You can read the full results yourself at Quinnipiac University's website.

By omitting these types of observations on the political landscape and merely reporting "Obama is good; McCain is bad" CNN is doing a tremendous disservice. Please CNN, report the full results without stacking the deck in favor of one candidate or the other.

It's Great. If these numbers hold till end of october, Then Obama will suely be the next Presiden of U.S.A.

To all the Hillary supporters who are leaving hateful comments are really Republicans who are trying to divide the Democratic party.

Just ignore them and be sensible.

I do not know where you are puilling your polls from; however, I can tell you that you are absolutely incorrect.

Obama is NOT beating in the swing states.

Get your facts right or do not print them.

Oh Nick --By the way---They Haven't voted yet and I'm not convinced that these voters will actually pull the lever for Obama---
Even in the primaries more people said they voted for him in the exit polls--The actual numbers were substanially less---
By the way ---Where's Hillary's support ?
Her interests are served a whole lot more if Obama loses---
Don't think the Clinton Machine hasn't thought of that---
Long way to go--

This is nothing.

People are beginning to wake up and realize Obama would be a disaster for this country, otherwise he would be ahead by much more that that.

If the media was honest, they would analyze why Obama isn't much further ahead considering the war and economy, but they won't.

They will just keep telling the public that Obama will win, just like they did Kerry.

...and when he doesn't, you will all cry foul and claim the election was fixed...

GOOD! There are a lot of people who do not believe Sen. Obama can win, BUT I believe he CAN.

Here is why:

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN IS A VOTE FOR MORE WAR, POSSIBLY EVEN WITH IRAN

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN IS A VOTE FOR MORE OF OUR TROOPS DYING, BEING MAIMED....... AND WORSE COMMITTING SUICIDE

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN IS CONTINUING TO ADD TO THE ALREADY $11 TRILLION IN NATIONAL DEBT...... WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF REPUBLICAN RULE!

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN IS TO CONTINUE TO IGNORE THAT WE MUST FIND ALTERNATIVE FUEL, THE ANSWER IS CONSERVATION NOT MORE DRILLING...... DO WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO RUIN THE EARTH?

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN MEANS MORE FAILED FOREIGN POLICY.......BUT OF COURSE, PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT.......ALL WE REALLY CARE ABOUT IS BEING ABLE TO DRIVE OUR SUV'S AND PAY $2 A GALLON FOR GAS! GO AHEAD AND FOOL YOURSELVES INTO ELECTING MCCAIN........ BUT DON'T COMPLAIN WHEN OUR NATION IS BROUGHT TO ITS KNEES BECAUSE OUR NATIONAL DEBT IS OWED MOSTLY TO CHINA AND SAUDI ARABIA!

This is no time to celebrate yet. I'm sceptical, especially about the lead in OH. Being from Ohio, I know how many bible-thumping, biggoted voters there are here. This is a state that voted for dubya twice (I'm proud to say that I'm not one of those voters).

<b><i>IF</i></b> this poll is accurate, it's great news because if Obama can win here, he can win anywhere.

AS Al Gore rightly said, 'Take it from me, elections matter'. Even our dogs and cats are aware of this and they are all fired up and ready to go with the candidate of change. Take for instance the bird that was on cnn was able to say Obama. America, this is our moment.

Ben June 18th, 2008 9:18 am ET

Huckabee or Romney might have(and I say Might have) been able to beat Obama, but McCain? This guy doesn't have a chance.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* * *

I'd agree with that statement, at least with Huckabee. As much as I disagree with most of Huckabee's positions, he is a very charismatic individual who holds your attention. I saw him in person about two years ago (before he was well known), and he definitely would have drawn a striking contrast with Obama, much more so than McCain (at least on the issues)

But I still think Obama would win. Go Obama!

Keep on selectively pushing those polls that say what you want them to say. Just like you did throughout the primary. The truth of the matter is that Obama is struggling. He should be much further ahead. McCain will continue to get stronger, and Obama weaker. The more Obama is pressed to answer the tough questions, the more he continues to show his lack of requisite experience and judgment.

Obama is not qualified to lead this country.

Lisa - I am not sure if you are just trying to be funny or if you are ignorant...but Florida and Michigan voters have a full vote in November.

Those states broker the rules and deserves to be punished at the convention in August.

That punishment has no effect on the general election. I, like many people in Florida, did not go vote (for Obama) because I knew my vote wouldn't count. So I think it was MORE than fair that my state and Michigan got half-votes.

It doesn't matter what these polls indicate. Give me a poll in September and then I'll pay attention. It's too early. There's still lots of skeletons in Mr. Obama's closet that have yet to be discovered. Once the republicans swift-boat him, that's it! Game over! The man's not a credible candidate and you people that think he is are nuts! He's not going anywhere but back to Chicago where he belongs. No, No you can't! Bye, bye Obama.

Yes the gap will continue to widen the more people get to know Sen. McCain as the true Flip Flopper he is! He is just turning his coat after the wind, and same time have the impetus to attach Sen. Obama! He said he wanted a civilized campaign, and now look at the low road the road he is travelling. Telling Pa folks the Sen. Obama look down on them, saying that they are "bitter" .. Sen. McCain it is small to travel that road! Period. It shows how desprate you are. Lies and fear mongering will never work again becuse vast majority of voters are no fools. If you are a real man debate issues with Sen. Obama and let voters decide. But if you continue on the path of fear mongering and lies come November you'll be disgraced! Watch and learn!

Obama has a clear lead, stronger with his base than McCain and leading independents. He also has a strong registration drive going on in many red states.
What the heck does a “Quinnipiac” poll matter? The same outfit reported in February 2008, “Obama closes on Clinton in New York, New Jersey.” Clinton went on to win both these state primaries.
Just more “propaganda” fishing for CNN. Just so you know, CNN, I no longer watch your stations. I also sent the following to Time Magazine, which is owned by the same company as CNN: “Because of the extremely biased coverage by your magazine on behalf of Senator Obama -- and because of your extremely repugnant coverage against Senator Clinton, I hereby cancel my subscription to Time Magazine.” These same sentiments apply to CNN.

The only thing reliable about these polls is that they are making money for pollsters. Surely everyone must know that poll numbers at this time are TOTALLY INCONSEQUENTIAL! If I had a nickel for every poll that changed almost from week to week, and certainly from month to month, I would be a rich woman. The general election battle hasn't even started yet. Today's polls are as fickle and unreliable as which way the wind will blow tomorrow. And some pretty strong winds are bound to blow thru both the Obama and the McCain camps in coming months.

I am one of those Floridians who will cast my ballot for a brighter future for my children.

We are down here working hard to make sure Florida turns blue in 08.

Need proof? Go to the "events" section of Barack's website and type in Florida zip code 33634 and just see how many events, meetings, cook-outs, voter registration drives, etc. etc. we have going on to raise money and get folks fired up down here!! I suggest you do the same in your state. Let's put this man over the top! Our kids deserve it, and so do we!

Ohio residents are tires of Bush/McCain failed economic policies that drove jobs out of that state to other countries.

Floridians are finally waking up from their mistake 8 years ago...call it guilt? Who cares...they're finally "getting it" and supporting Obama.

Pennsylvania...never was worried McCain would turn this state red, because the only red in that state, is the boiling blood angry faces of all those who, like Ohio residents, lost jobs to overseas.

This former Hillary supporter will admit when we were wrong...guess Obama is more electable then we first thought.

Look deep into your hearts people, past any hardened notions of partisanship, or disliking Democrats simply because you have for so long. John McCain is not suited to lead the most powerful nation in the world.

Obama is young, intelligent, clear-headed, eager and above all else has proven fantastic judgment. His plan, much like Abe Lincoln, is to fill his cabinet with members from both parties. He will choose the best people, not the best Democrats.

John McCain is going to stock the entire gov.t full of hard-line republicans that will continue to dismantle our social programs, overturn a woman's right to choose, keep the behemoth war machine rolling along, and eventually destroy our nation from within.

Don't do it.

I have no doubt that McCain will be our next President!

Obama is not a viable candidate for many, many, reasons!

"Well with these new polls, the Obama posters will likely say that polls matter…a contradicition to what they have said when they were down in the polls!"

It's not just the Obama posters, EVERYONE does it. If their candidate is up in a poll, it's "solid proof that they are the best candidate" otherwise it's "just a meaningless poll".
