Positive stories about McCain...are there any? I haven't heard of him really doing ANYTHING lately, except having barbecues, counting the days since Obama's last visit to Iraq (only he knows why that's so important), and trying to figure out how to make friends online. He could have been doing things like helping make sandbags in the midwest, developing ideas for alternative energy production instead of taking the easy way out, and taking steps to improve foreign relations...oh but I guess those tasks are too tedious and presidential for McCain. He really is at a time in his life where he should be taking things slow. Maybe we all misunderstood his mumbling and he really meant to start RETIREMENT not run for PRESIDENT. That would explain so much...

I would normally agree with the terrorist being judge by a millitary tribunal. But being a NYer at the time of each WTC attack, both under Rudy's watch, I have to question the position of the republicans.

First of all, Rudy is a snake.

Second, Obama seems to have faith in the American justice system and I cant argue with that. Seems a bit risky, but that quote from Rudy does sum up the way I feel about it.

Finally, the republicans have used the constitution as toilet paper for the last 8 yrs so I wont be taking any moral lessons from them

What McCain camp haven't yet realized or knew but refused to acknowledge is the fact that Obama is a consitutional lawyer. I believe he knows what he's talking about when he stated how he planned to handle the terrorists in his regime within the constrainsts of the American constitution . I can't say the same for McCain or for those defending him.

Kelby from Houston – great post. You are exactly right. If what the terrorists want is to destroy our government and cause us to abandon our principles, we are handing it to them. They have already succeeded in causing us to voluntarily toss aside the Constitution. How can we even be having this discussion? How can we consider electing someone for president who supports the current administration in ignoring our foundational principles? I would prefer the Constitutional Law professor determining our policy rather than someone who promotes a total disregard for the principles we will ask him to swear to protect and defend. This is crazy.

Fred Thompson's character on Law and Order was pretty good about abiding by the Constitution, but I'm surprised he didn't learn a thing or two after being on the show for so long.

All the Republicans are trying to do is pick apart Obama bit by bit because they realize no decent citizen trusts their own party nowadays. So instead of trying to make themselves look better, they point the finger at Obama (and his wife, who I really think would make a great first lady) just because he's actually quite popular. I knew the Republicans were childish, but this has sunk down to pre-school level maturity.

Hey Johnny McCain, the Constitution was made for a reason.

I voted for Bush in 2004, but I'm proud to say I'm throwing my support 150% behind Obama this year.

"Is that the name?" while looking at a nursing school's training mannequin, and made this joke about Hillary's daughter: “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father.” These comments, among many others, are far worse than anything Obama has ever said about Hillary. So even if we ignore the glaring policy differences between McCain and Hillary, there's still no good reason for PUMA folks to throw their support behind McCain.
