The Obama campaign debuted a new logo Friday that bears a striking resemblance to the presidential seal. Photo credit: AP, White House.

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) – Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama sat down in Chicago Friday morning to discuss the economy with visiting Democratic governors, but all eyes were on the Illinois senator’s podium bearing, what might be described as, a quasi-presidential seal – a new Obama campaign logo.

The seal includes the same bald eagle as the actual presidential seal clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons, but instead of a shield covering the center of the eagle’s body, the Obama version displays the campaign’s trademark “O.” Unlike the Presidential seal, which includes the words “Seal of the President of the United States” around the circumference, “Obama for America” and “www.barackobama.com” grace the top and bottom of Obama's.

Finally, just above the eagle, in Latin, are the words – “vero possumus” – which translates to “yes we can,” the oft-heard chant at Obama rallies.

It remains to be seen how the new seal will play in the campaign’s quest to win over working-class voters.

What do you think of the logo? Your comments below.

Next it will be his face on the Lincoln memorial.

Still voting for him, its just he may wanna slow down a bit.

Looks like he thinks he's greater than the United States. He should be impeached in the Senate for appropriating the Great Seal as if it were some kind of marketing gimmick. Shame on him.

hey angela,

what should Obama buy you to gain your vote?
Some diamonique from the QVC channel?

I don't think Obama wants your vote if he has to personally wine and dine you to get it.

Plus, it's illegal to pay people to vote for ya.

Imthankful   June 20th, 2008 5:09 pm ET

Come on people....let's get real....No one would have said anything had McCain's camp come up with the idea first. I don't think it's arrogance at all, it simply shows the confidence he has in himself and if he's not confident that he will become the next president, how can he expect his supporters to be confident in him.

Geesh, I'm sure you learned that growing up.....Oh my bad, most of you are still trying to Grow-Up!!!!

To all you supposed Dems who are Anti-Obama.....your FLIP-FLOPS should be worn out by now.

Would somebody step up and teach this young horse some lesson?
Do you all see? Very cheap talks he've been doing. Then public financing and now no.... Then against NAFTA and now in favor... The guy is willing to say anything to get the votes. Once he got the votes, he doesn't care anymore. Does it sound familiar? A new kind of politics? Give me a break... He's just like one of them, and that is the most disappointing one, after all the talks about change.
Yeah, the only change he will do is the one benefiting himself.
Wake up, everyone, before it's too late!

Also...do any of you commentators know how many times that eagle has been used in various forms and designs? Many. My lord. Do some research. This isn't the first or last time an eagle in that pose has been used.

The comments on here are too funny.

Does anyone else notice that he replaced the shield with the American Flag with his "O" and sunset? Purely arrogant, unpatriotic, and very egotistical. Where is this mans throne and crown? Why is it bad for Clinton to get ahead of herself and it's okay for Obama? This man has disgraced the presidential seal, this election, and this country. Is this your change that we can believe in? If so, keep your change, go back to Illinois, and let someone with real leadership and experience have this job. You have gone WAY too far this time, Barack Hussein Obama. WAY TOO FAR! Do the Wright thing, vote McCain in November!

-about 45 posts above saying it is a sign of bold confidence and goal setting with positive imagery
-about 35 saying it shows bold arrogance as if it is too early to be a pretender to the throne
- is it just me, or is this campaign dull compared to the Obama Clinton battle? It's like the the two best teams played in the semi finals.
(It's an okay emblem with positive goal setting, a little bit too big, 'not green' 46 to 35)

The eagle on Obama's seal looks more like a dragon. Where have I seen this before. Hmmm, maybe the Book of Revelations 13:1..please read.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy (.(The Antichrist and the Confederation of 10 states he leads is represented as a beast rising out of the sea– the sea of politics)..and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Nick   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

It's not creative, or beautiful. It is disgraceful and arrogant. This guy constantly makes it harder and harder to vote for him. The office of the presidency is supposed to seek you Barack, not the other way around.

AdamW   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Wow. You people are funny.
It's a logo.

Nothing arrogant or presumptive about it. And what is this nonsense about respecting the presidential seal? How is it disrespectful?

If anything I would be upset as an artist that it isn't that original of the designer but that is about it. Nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

Obama is branding and unfortunately in this consumer based culture of ours one has to brand.

This country needs a whole new logo, flag, slogan, make-over. We are the most arrogant nation in the world and then you have the nerve to say this man is arrogant.

How arrogant is it to think your views or ideas should be the worlds views and ideas? America goes around pushing our culture on others and then we get upset when native people don't want us in their country. We push democracy, capitalism and the whole nine and call ourselves the leaders of the free world.

That is arrogance.

Elitist? We drive around in SUVs and waste gas like nobody's business while young soldiers die for oil, we act like we are too good to work in the orange groves while immigrants slave, our doctor's and insurance companies live like fat cats while people around the globe die from AIDS.

We must think we are really important, America.

Stop whining about a logo. The man is branding himself, he didn't even design it. Mist likely didn't even approve it. But maybe he did. So what?

How about you armchair revolutionary/commentators/political activist wannabes actually go out and try and make a difference in the world like Obama is trying to. You don't have to follow his message, make your own. But do something to make the world a better place instead of useless complaining about a logo. Geez.

jwrig22   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

OBAMA '08

Betty Fry   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

I think Obama's choice of Seal is inappropriate for United States of America's President. He may become our President in 2008 and he won't be the first nor the last President of the United States of America.

I think many people living in United States of America today still wish and has changed our American Culture.

John E Lexington KY   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

It looks presumptuous, as if he thinks he's won already. McCain will have a field day with it. I suggest junking it and now. Obama's downfall may be hubris, and his staff seems to think he's god too. I'd have Michelle take an ax to it on camera.

All that stuff about Hillary feeling entitled is going to backfire if this continues.

I keep seeing connections to Nixon, and this is like when Nixon had a White House guard created that looked like the Buckingham Palace guards. But Nixon was at least president when he did it.

Arcie H.   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Obama really should't jump the gun on "seal lust' as there are quite a group of us who haven't been consulted yet on who should be the next president! And a lot of us haven't been blinded by lawyer "beautiful language " meant to sway the easily swayed !!!

Sherrie in Sacramento   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

I am an Obama fan and think it is a bit presumptuous and overly clever. On the other hand, opponents will always see his confidence as arrogance whether it is or not, which the above comments show.

My high school Latin suggests that the Latin word vero has something to do with truth, so my first sense of it was "with truth things are possible," but my Latin isn't necessarily correct.

The two campaigns remind me of Jay Ogilvy's phrase "paradigm war." I really thing the campaign is a competition of paradigms, and the conventional paradigm folks don't have a clue what the transformational paradigm folks are about. This will probably always be so.

The SRI study of "cultural creatives" foreshadowed the growth of a new way of looking at things, which seems to have reached majority by now. The election will probably demonstrate that with an Obama win.

Whoever coined "Obamanation" is very clever. You get a couple of points for that one.

Who is Palin in McCain/Palin? Did he name a running mate? I must be sleeping.

RRE   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Belle   June 20th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Well....let's flip on NAFTA, let's flop on Campaign Finance Bills he helped to sponsor and supposedly believed in...now let's disgrace the entire country by making "light" of the Presidential Seal of the United States.

Yup...change you can believe in...right?

Arrogant does not begin to describe the Senator from IL.

Hillary, don't you dare accept a VP position from this man.

Cameron   June 20th, 2008 5:04 pm ET

Don't really like it, to be honest. I'm a Barack supporter through and through, but this is just tacky and not that interesting. The standard "O" logo is much more appealing visually.

The controversy, however, is artificial and forced. Anti-Obama people should drop it, it just makes them look petty and willing to rip the man apart for every little thing. Why is the focus on this and not the event/speech itself?

Hello!!!   June 20th, 2008 5:04 pm ET

boered1   June 20th, 2008 5:03 pm ET

Interesting branding, i like it close enough to the Presidential Seal to imply he should be President but not so close that it would ever be confused or seen as an attempt to say he IS President. Good job to the designers. Although I am sure there will many who think that he is somehow "over-reaching" himself or has too grandious ideas about himself but in reality there is no "lock" on the Eagle, I have seen it in many other places as well so it does not bother me. It shows how smart the man is he uses all tools ethically availiable to have people see him as Presidential already. Now if we could only get some people to actually READ his platform or LISTEN to one of his speech they would see how many good, well thought out plans he has, but alas they will not and will just cotinue to spout the lies.. errs misspeaks of the opponents and the MSM.

Too bad most democrats don't see the coming problems ...voting for someone because you're ready to have a black person inside the "white" house is absolutely asinine. Research your candidates better.

A Presidential Candidate should have more respect for the office they may take than to simply duplicate and personalize the seal of our country's highest officials.

Edward J. Wilkins   June 20th, 2008 5:03 pm ET

He lies to Americans to get votes. This is change that you can expect from him. Also, at the Al Gore endorsement Obama rally, when the Governor of Michigan mention Hillary name, Obama's supporters boo her rudely. This is the Unity that Obama promise you. This is another change that you can expect from Obama. After all of this, I suggest all Americans do not ever listen to anything Obama say but look at what Obama did instead. Todd B.   June 20th, 2008 4:58 pm ET

People, please stop.

It is not offensive to have a symbol that plays off of the presidential seal. These two candidates are not even the nominees of the party yet, but since it is obvious, we let them "pretend" until the convention.

One of these two candidates will be present. Saying that he is "faking it" is just absurd.

And to be fair, the seal is not a great seal of America. It is a great seal of our highest office, which is mostly unrecognizable by the rest of the world. We do not seem to complain when candidates (all of them) use the stars and stripes in a fashion other than the flag, and the flag is clearly more of a sacred symbol that the presidential seal will ever be.

If i ever needed more evidence that people are just looking for reasons to be angry, I have my second major fact. The first is that people were trying to use Obama's lack of a flag pin as a sign that he is unpatriotic. I'm totally sure that someone who uses a symbol, and doesn't wear a flag pin, is running for president just to piss us off and deface the process (note the incredible sarcasm).

Stop trying to nit pick candidates on issues that do not matter. A flag pin will not save our economy, and a seal is not going to have an effect on any of the other issues that our country is dealing with.

I'm begging you; if you are going to try and participate in the political process, drop the BS that does not matter. If you are going to obsess over this kind of stuff, please feel free to stay at home on voting day. I want someone who votes based on real issues, not superficial ones.

The candidates "seal" convinces me of his pomposity and sense of entitlement to the rank of POTUS. I disagree about his ability to lead - except down a well-trodden path of acquiesense and accommodation of our enemies. I won't go.

Zela   June 20th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

I think the discussion of this marketing tool is rediculous. Some of you are looking for a reason to have an arguement over anything, but the issue that Obama has the best platform for America in 08. If he superimposes his name on a circle, what's the big deal? It is NOT the presidential seal, it's a marketing tool. Come on America, you are smarter than this. The whole quest for both campaigns is to have the candidate "look" presidential. Most of you are too old for this kind of stupidity. This is not the first election you have witnessed.

Larry   June 20th, 2008 4:56 pm ET

I don't see anything offensive about it, I think it's pretty smart strategy wise, but I think it will turn off a lot of people, it's a little presumptive to soon.

boomonkey   June 20th, 2008 4:55 pm ET

It seems, from the comments here that lots of people did not really understand. Several seem to think he is replacing the presidential seal or something of that order. Learn 2 read plz.

The new seal is a campaign logo using iconic American imagery... you know... like EVERY politician does? You folk chanting "arrogance" over this are quite transparent. Methinks, we don't much like the color of his skin, but lack the guts to come out and say so. So, it's "arrogant" today. Tomorrow it will be "elitist". The next day, something else.

Well, come January, it'll be "Mr. President" so get used to it.

lisa   June 20th, 2008 4:55 pm ET

Oh, Pu-leeze Brandon.

He is a disgrace and insults my intelligence to think he can make this kind of a flip flop and you media folks just let it slide-
We'll keep quiet for the most part until November but when the all the flash and rheroric has been spun–we still will not know how he is going to change anything-
Have you heard anything solid other than CHANGE and HOPE-
I've heard higher taxes to help those who WON'T help themselves-
For the record-MOST of us are willing to help those who CAN'T help themselves–
Healthcare-No Drilling - Higher Taxes -which by the way will affect everyone -because everyone who has a pension will be taxed additionally in some way-

Gene   June 20th, 2008 4:55 pm ET

How is it more offensive than any of the candidates including the words "As president of the United States" or "When I'm president of the United States" This is no more pompous than a candidate talking as if they're already elected... which they all do.

People need to get stop crying about trivial stuff like this... I swear if there's a way to bring hate out of people... it's reports like this.

The ignorance of those who get up in arms about a revamped seal. While McCain changes his mind on everything he has previously had an opinion on, even stating "I didn't fall in love with America until I was a POW" there is a candidate who stands for REAL change and the dislike of his symbol is what people are threatening to change their vote over. You should be sterilized because, God forbid, you breed more stupid people like yourself, you should have your voting privileges revoked, and you should be forced to clean up the hotel rooms that Glen Beck trashes on his drug and alcohol fueled tirades while he is out on tour.

Tom in Hastings   June 20th, 2008 4:53 pm ET

It's humorous to see how McCain supporters think a logo shows arrogance.

McCain lives and breathes arrogance...

And what about Bush's "Mission Accomplished" banner if you want to talk about arrogance in banners???

No answer for that one, is there?

Paul W   June 20th, 2008 4:53 pm ET

Simply fantastic!

Bush has been making a mockery of the real seal for 7 years. Why don't you people pay more attention to the dreadful condition into which the republicans have driven this country. Don’t be fearful of a clever graphic treatment. Don't you want smart, articulate and clever running our country again? Relax.

Really? You people are going to complain about his new logo? Of all the problems in this country and world, your biggest concern is how similar this man's logo is to the presidential seal?
I'm an Obama supporter, and I agree that this seems ever so slightly arrogant, but it's a non-issue.
You are all so worried about first ladies, logos, and PR photo ops, but none of that really matters.

How about this - stop imitating him if you don't think he's got anything going for him.

Sue   June 20th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

This is bad. Obama is the presumtive nominee and he is attempting to change everything in this great country. He does not care about this country. The "elitest" seal.

Ralph   June 20th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

So this will be the seal when Obama overthrows the government and makes all white people poor, and all black people rich?

I can only wonder what the flag will look like.

Zanfito, Atlanta, Georgia   June 20th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

Who cares what logo one campaign has vs. the other? How many millions of US taxpayers were spent today, in Iraq? How many americans have died in Iraq this week? How much less in the US dollar today? What is the direct impact of the war in Iraq on the economy? How much money is needed to give a descent salary to a teacher, in the US? How many schools have we built in Iraq (a country with surplus budget) vs. how many schools have we rehabilitated in the US (a country with trillions in deficit)? if you have nothing else, ask candidates what they'd do if Osama Bin Laden was captured instead of killed. Will our system decide to torture him?

Personally I don't like Obama's logo. Don't know which study group the think tank convened, but I don't care for it. The Obama campaign logo used throughout the primary season is far more to my liking. It's readily recognizable and the candidate's words and message were what made him Presidential.

Obama has my vote, but it's not because he appears Presidential with flags lined up on the stage or his campaign logo is a spin on the Presidential seal.

I can see many voters being offended with this Presidential (campaign) Seal logo.

Most of the negative comments are from disgruntled Hillary supporters who wish to shoot themselves in the foot by voting for McCain.
All I can say is wake up, unifying the country is what is important.
If you are truly for change and making the USA a great nation again you would not vote for McCain because Hillary isn't the nominee.
Nobody who is really for change who voted for Hillary would even consider voting Republican. You were obviously never real democratics to begin with.

I'm a Hillary supporter. I'm voting for John McCain. If Obama thinks this logo (obviously created by some imbecile) is going to win him the presidency, he'd better guess again.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA, no matter what he shoves out in front of himself. Many Hillary supporters agree.

Obama-Edwards '08!

Neal of Lithonia, Georgia   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

This has to be one of the most arrogant gestures Obama's committed so far. Obama is nothing more than an articulate, smooth talking politician that is campaigning in the same old fashion. And he's supposed to be the candidate of Change? PLEASE!

I'm an African-American supporter of Hillary Clinton, and I WILL NOT VOTE FOR MCCAIN....I'LL JUST STAY HOME!

A good enough reason to vote against him!

JC   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

how can you say this is creative? it's so simplistic since he stole the seal of the president and made a minor modification. not very creative, pretty darn arrogant.

lame, just lame, but what else should we expect from him?!

saga for Obama   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

you can not deny that this is the best person for the job.....
you can not deny that this is the best man for the job...
you can not deny that Obama is the best American running to fix the devistaing damage the Republicans have reeped on our nation and across the seas.
what holds you back from the truth may be the very thing that you find you will regret if Mr. Mc Caine is elected into office.
as ffor those who hate Mr. Obama because of his race, you can always "go back to Europe" because your antiquated bigotry and hate is no longer needed hear in this new America.
oh yeah, i love the new seal.

Rea   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

How dare this man act like he is President with this type of logo.
I guess if he can copy speeches, he can copy logos.
He keeps pushing his luck.

Brian Seattle   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

I am not an Obama Supporter, but I have to say I do like his logos.

Don Colony14Author, Mt Prospect, IL   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

The eagle should be replaced with eggs being counted before they've hatched.

I find the logo/seal pretty shameful. Obama may think it helps him "look Presidential," but it actually makes him look like a four year old wearing a Superman costume on Halloween. We all know he's not really Superman. (Of course, the media thinks he's a saint, but they also believe they're "objective.")

If Obama or his advisors have any brains, the "seal" will be gone quickly.

A Canuck Viewing From Up North   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

it's not even a big deal, i can't believe so many people are upset. I mean there's some states the fly a flag representing the slavery and atrocities in the south, yet he wants to create a more modified version of the presidential seal just to give voters a taste of what's to come.... and that's enough to make people flip? haha, every nation in the world wants obama to win, every nation but the one nation voting. Do you see why americans are treated so badly overseas?

JD   June 20th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

I think the planet Earth, or possibly the milky way galaxy, should be inside the large O that is inside the eagle's stomach!

Arrogant and Cockie?   June 20th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Arrogant and cockie? Bush took this country to war over personal reasons and McCain wants to keep us there over personal reasons.

The question becomes whose "Arrogant and Cockie?"

Christine Cramton   June 20th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

The logo is creepy.

Yes We Can!!!!!

Jick   June 20th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

I'm all for Obama, but not this seal. The GOP is going to POUNCE on this and call it a mockery–whether it is or not. With the kind of stuff uneducated people will believe, this could be a problem. I hope they get rid of it, fast. I don't know what they were thinking.

Linda   June 20th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Someone in the Obama campaign needs to seriously reconsider this seal. Way to premature to design something this close to the President's seal. This will turn some undecided folks off for sure. Me, I'm for Obama...seal or no seal...someone just needs to reign in the eager beavers with the crayons.

Republican for Obama   June 20th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

That's awesome! I think they change it to that the whole 8 years he is president!!! Just stick the American flag right behind the eagle's head and wala! Ever since I heard of Obama I have been on the border of thinking democratic this year. With the more momentum Obama gained, the more I was intrigued and yearned for information about him and as a result was pushed to the democratic side. In a way I am angry at the GOP that we don't have a dynamic candidate like Barack Obama running for the GOP. Barack all the way!

PS: Hey Barack, why couldn't you have run as the GOP nom?

I agree with you, not on the McCain 08, but that the Republicans are using not so loyal Democrats for their own use. You can be the new majority who can lead this nation out of a long political darkness – Democrats, Independents and Republicans who are tired of the division and distraction that has clouded Washington; who know that we can disagree without being disagreeable; who understand that if we mobilize our voices to challenge the money and influence that’s stood in our way and challenge ourselves to reach for something better, there’s no problem we can’t solve – no destiny we cannot fulfill. We are the ones We have been waiting for.

I think "Very Possums" would be more accurate in describing Obama and his campaign. You know....possums are dumb animals of the night that kind of look like big, fat, slow-moving rats. They often play dead when they feel threatened .... but they can also be extremely vicious and nasty if cornered.

PLEASE!

Travis   June 20th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

This man has gone too far to disgrace the presidential seal. This man is very vain indeed to make such a bold and prevocative statement. What exactly is his change we can believe in? Every candidate promises that. Why should we elect him over someone else?

Do the Wright thing, send Barack Hussein Obama back to Illinois, and put someone with experience and real leadership in the White House.

It's funny how folks are taking a campaign logo and turning it into something negative. GIVE ME A BREAK FOLKS!!!! If you're against some policy postion that's one thing but to react so strongly to a campaign logo?!?!?! PULEEEEZZZZEEEEE! Try focusing on the big picture!

Bad P.R. idea. Presumptious, offensive to those not in his park and disappointing to his followers who have and will continue to work hard to present the real "peoples' man" and not the "elitest" the other side has almost successfully coined Obama to be. Forget these overzealous and amatueristic ideas. Stick to the strong, straight down to the issues presentations. Logo? Good grief! If you can't find anything else to do, just contact any precincts in the country. Ours is CD14 California. We'll set you on the real tasks.

Right Brain Please   June 20th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

I saw two potential "stubbed toes" in the area of public relations this week

1.) naming Dole to the VP chief of staff role ... OK put her on the team but with a different title.

2.) this logo in that some "fence sitters" may buy into the whole, he's arrogant, cocky line.

I'm a supporter but I think the campaign might want to vet these ideas with some interest groups first.

If they have honestly done so and have decided to move forward, they've got my backing.

Timber   June 20th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

How arrogant can you get?! If Hillary had done that, they would have said that she thinks it is a coronation and she has the Office of the President already. "Vero Possumus" wasn't even enough for the Obama campaign to close the deal in the Democratic Party. He paid off... er, needed supposed leaders of the party to carry him over the finish line.

Dear Freida, NYC,

Senator Obama is a Christain and you know it!. He is not, has never been, and will never be a Muslim. He is not trying to change the American logo-seal. What is displayed is his campaign seal.

Joan Q.   June 20th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Oh enough with the "cocky" comments. He's taking an American symbol and using it for his campaign to show change for a better America. Also Freida, do you actually think Obama is going to turn America into a Muslim sect once he gets elected (and he will)? Everyone just needs to take a breath, look at the issues, and take a look at who has a better stance on the important issues.

California Voter   June 20th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

A little presumptuous . . . . however, also a reflection of his whole campaign. . . and the media bashed Hillary Clinton by saying that she felt she was "entitled" to the presidency. Something about this whole election smells.

JO   June 20th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Ray   June 20th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

People are starting not to like him now because he's too cocky? Please–enough with all the bickering. Obama has a better education than McCain, exercised better judgement on the iraq war, and has better family values. Obama is a man of substance. It's the media's obsession with him that's making him out to be a rock star. Dag, can he live (without you covering every single thing he says or does)?

Obama 08!

DeeJam - Los Angeles   June 20th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

This is what he's supposed to do. We have to be able to envision him as a president in order for us to make him our president. Some people still don't think he is capable. What makes any American capable? I believe it's leadership ability and the desire to make America better. Obama has both of those qualities. The seal only helps to send the message that he is ready.

slow news day..

concerned   June 20th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

It is deceitful on many fronts……. Starting with the use of the official eagle from the presidential seal. Your not the President Yet Mr. Obama........ Oh Excuse Me that should be Senator Obama Right......... Hope you all get the point here……… from the play on words........... but thats it isn't it, it's a play on Senator Obama already being as good as elected president.

BOY2   June 20th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

Again change all you people who write this negative things about Obama think about this: The Economy, Gas Prices, Food Prices, The War, Home Mortage Crisis, Katrina, Rumsfeld, should I go on? We have had 7 years of failed policies. Time for something different!

demwit   June 20th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

"Yes we can"

Did Obama just still Bob the Builders motto!!??

Mark   June 20th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

Ed Chapman – The log he is using is ot copyrighted, as it was changed enough to be used in this manner... maybe you should do some research into how many logos have morphed over the years...and see what I am talking about

again I like the logo, I just wish it was in multi colors

Sweetie   June 20th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

I think it shows just how ARROGENT he is!

He sure isn't getting my vote or that of anyone I've talked with lately.

What a Joke this Left Wing Nut Job in Training Pants really is!

McCain 08

VERY OFFENSIVE   June 20th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

THE SEAL IS A SYMBOL OF AMERICA; OF THE OFFICE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. IT IS NOT A BRAND. OBAMA CONTINUES TO NOT ONLY INSULT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, BUT OUR INSTITUTIONS AND NATIONAL SYMBOLS. IT IS OFFENSIVE TO MARKET THIS GREAT AMERICAN SYMBOL AND USE IT AS A CAMPAIGN MARKETING TOOL. THIS GUY IS NOT ONLY STUPID, BUT HE OFFENDS ALL THAT WE HOLD DEAR TO OUR HEARTS. VOTE MCCAIN AND WE CAN END THIS SELLING OUT OF AMERICA.

generationsane   June 20th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

Pretty gutsy.
His campaign is re-writing all the rules.
America needs everything new. Go Obama!

Louis   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Obama and his antics looks like people are rooting on another would be hero who would later turn out to be obsessed with power.
Does the name Robert Mugabe ring any alarms?

Bob Indianapolis, IN   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Nice logo! This country needs a rebirth after the slide towards facism that clowns like Steny Hoyer and the Blue Dogs have been perpetuating by caving in to Dumbya, the Clown Prince. The reign of terror is finally coming to an end!

chuck   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

a presidential seal looks good on obama.

Jack   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

This man continues to show poor taste. You get to stand behind the seal ONLY if and when you get elected. Once again he is being ridiculous.

Lillian   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

It's tacky!!!!

peggy   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

I think its GREAT

RMH   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

This is disgraceful. Has nay other presidential candidate been this brazen. Talk about arrogance!

Nick - Arlington, VA   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Freida, NYC June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

This is scary, he even wants to change the American logo-seal, by replacing it with his name. Americans please wake up and do not vote for Obama. Are these the kind of changes you really want.?He will turn this country into a Muslim sect, Just wait and see.
----------------------------------
-i knew someone would respond with something idiotic like this....its a logo, which looks like the pres. seal because...guess what...he is running for the presidency....People are very visually orientated.

Go Obama   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

I LOVE BARACK AND MICHELLE. MCCAIN AND CINDY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH LIFE IN THEM. WHERE'S THE ENERGY AND EXCITEMENT AROUND THEM? NOTHING

OBAMA (CHANGE WE CAN REALLY DEPEND ON)

HOW IS MCCAIN DIFFERENT FROM ALL OF THE REST OF THE PRESIDENTS.. SAME OLD THING ...SO OLD POLITICS.

Mark   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

kingsley – I could ot agree more, since McCain took Barack's old logo, I wonder why all these people who say its arrogant, or they don't like think about that...

Was it not arrogant for McSame to take Barack's old logo?

Gee I wonder..

and personally I would like to see the logo in Color, although I like it.

Zach   June 20th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

I have been consistently impressed with Obama's design team. On his website, he has a different design for each constituent group's page under the "people" tab. I cannot remember the last candidate with such a recognized logo!

Jools   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Love it! It's hilarious, actually.

Ian   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

He won't have to change it much come November.

Dems   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

He should have a logo with dollar signs flying out of a wallet because that's what we're all going to be looking at if he becomes president.

Rob   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Vero Possumus meaning "Yes We Can".

OK, this is cute and all, but just a little bit ridiculous. Obama is my man. Love 'em and all that. But you gotta stay humble. This is a little overly presumptuous for some to take. He needs to tone it down and get in office first. Leave the cutesy teen and 20 creativity at the campaign office.

Rickey Camp   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

I voted for Obama in the primary. But now it seems that his campaign is becoming more of a personality cult. I will vote Libertarian this November. As for his new logo, old politics – an attempt at manipulating people.

John Alexander   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

I think this is enormously disrespectful of the office of President.

It ridicules the seal by arrogantly inserting Obama's name and campaign logo into a symbol that has always represented the
dignity of the office of President, not the person who occupies it, let alone the person who aspires to it.

I've never seen such a stupid, sophomoric maneuver. He'd better
hold on to this seal because it's very unlikely that he'll ever stand behind the real one.

Ula Nejad- Sacramento Ca   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

hahahahaha.......its getting really hilarious. Next would be finding his face replacing Lincoln or squeezed into rushmore...boy oh boy!

Doug   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

I am big Obama fan, but somehow this doesn't seem right.

Angela   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

this is TOO much! obviously Obama already has way too much money to spend on nonsense such as this . how about spending some money and effort to win the vote of the Hillary supporters such as myself. also, please explain your vote for the Bush- Cheney energy bill- Clinton and McCain voted no.

David   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Well, I certinly do not like it.

Barbara Ellman   June 20th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Many will find this seal presumptious and could very well present a real "elitest" image even for those not believing the description for Obama before. Bad thinking. We've worked too hard to present the "peoples man" to have some dumb P.R. idea to pull it down. Get rid of it!

Jane   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Why did I first think of a dead possum when I read vero
possumus?

Ambika   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

That guy Barrack Hussein Obama thinks very high of himself in a very snobbish way. Hope all the worthy Americans feel he is light weight and teach him a bitter lesson by voting for Mccain and send Obama back to where he came from!! Enough is enough.

Peyton Lingle, II   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

The Obama seal is "over the line." He is running for the highest political office in the land, not on the set of Saturday Night Live! It comes across to me as presumptive and arrogant. Please have a presidential historian research which past presidential candidates used a seal that was similar to the presidential seal before becoming president.

I think it is making a mockery of the presidential seal.

WMH   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

I like it, too! Obama 2008

Speechless   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Can he get any more arrogant?

Mark Webb   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Looks great!
But why not keep "Yes we can"???
English has taken Latin place as universal language!!
Is there any linguist in the team?
If there is any, Obama should fire him as quickly as possible.

1 of the 18 million who voted for Obama   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

To Rita Mikride:

I bet those racist are doing just that.

Chris   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

What an arrogant guy. A seal reallyl, win first.

Becky   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Obama is allowed to change his logo, and the colors are extremely different so he's not trying to fool anyone. Just giving himself a more Presidential Look. I'm sure people against Obama will jump at any opportunity to say, "Oh my gosh I can't believe his group is being creative. That's absurd!" Anything is better than McCain's green-screen from earlier in the campaign.

Jennifer C.   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

INSPIRED – the logo is packed with meaning and well designed.

Jim in Muskegon, MI   June 20th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

You've got to be friggin' kidding me!

NCrich   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

What's latin for "empty your pockets"?..that is what should be above the eagle.

Independent LAWYER for Obama   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I like the fact that when I saw vero possumus, I thought "truth in possums?' EXACTLY what we were looking for in a presidential candidate.

Actually though, I think we should be more concerned about how bored my candidate looks in that pic!

bye bye freedom   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

And the dictatorship begins.

First the celebrities fall...

Then the Media falls....

Then the Party succumbs to its own hype of hope.

Then the one true leader is savaged into oblivion.

Then the path is clear for the takeover.

Ray   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I think it's very clever and stylish. Leave it to the Repubs and others to over analize this completly.

Jeff D, South Bend, IN   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Deny the arrogance? Hardly – he'll have the real thing in January 2009. Stating a fact doesn't necessarily make it arrogant.

Liz from Atlanta, GA   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

That is so awesome! I have never seen a more creative and smart campaign. His "get to know me" spot started today here in GA and I can't wait to see what he'll come up with next.
The clash between McCain and Obama can be easily seen from the footage of the two when they visited the flood victims in Iowa this week. McCain walked around the town, just like President W did. Obama rolled up his sleeves and filled sand bags with the people who were on the verge of losing their town. I like the idea of a president who is not afraid of hard work.

Obama '08

Linda Esen   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Freida, NYC; I guess u dont know much about anything; if he is a Muslim what ignorant thing do you have to say about Rev. Wright ????

DB   June 20th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

The Obama campaign has used the Eagle in a lot the imagery on the campaign website: at top of the "National Voter Protection Center" link, in ther background of pages before they are fully loaded, and in other places as well. I think it's smart to incorporate American symbols into the campaign imagery, and other campaigns have done it as well. Almost all campaign colours are red white and blue (at least the good ones, NOT green), and stars and stripes are frequently used as well.

Reggie - Texas   June 20th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

I love it. His campaign strategists understand how important it is to look presidential especially when so many ignorant people out there "can't see" a black man as POTUS. As a first time young voter in college, this election season has been extremely exciting. I can't wait to cast my third vote (I did the Texas two-step in March) for Barack Hussein Obama.
God Bless America and the Obamas (including Sasha in Mahlia)!!!

OBAMA '08

Maroun B.   June 20th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Sounds a bit fishy... reminds me of that propaganda era in the early years of the twentieth century in Europe, or maybe of that movie "V for Vendetta". Now that the seal is tempered, I wonder what's next ?

linda hemmingsen   June 20th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

I think it is pure arrogance of him .He sure thinks he is great!but he is just another political flip flopper who takes people to court and then does the same thing with public financing.

Sandro, Alexandria, VA   June 20th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

It is a powerful logo which subconsciously reinforces the inevitability of Barak's presidency. In general he has top-notch visual image coordination / graphic design team, among many other things.

More importantly, I think it part of a well-planned motif that Obama is not just another presidential candidate, but rather game-changing leader who is on his way to redefine the US politics, leadership style and yes, presidency itself!

bye bye freedom   June 20th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

The democrats have outdone themselves this time.

This guy and his insidious propaganda is downright scary.

People are following this manipulative man, as if he were the messiah himself.

Such tactics are slick and sleazy and errosive.

You have got to be kidding me!!! I think it is very presumptious, and quite frankly, it offends me. I'm undecided, but I think this shows a candidate that is quite full of himself and that the race is over. It sends me a little more the other way now.

carmen   June 20th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Love it. Although I believe "vero possumus" would be closer to "in truth we can"

Tiffany J   June 20th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

I love it! Where can i get something with Obama's seal on it?

CE   June 20th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Diane   June 20th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

The logo doesn't represent who Obama is. He's not for all Americans.

G12   June 20th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

oh yeah and the fact that the political system allows corporate interests to inject so much money into political campaigns that no candidate really represents the people when he or she sits in front of a presidential podium to speak to the people or a gaggle of reporters.

This is has been an election where the issues are bigger than ever (war, economy, housing crisis) and the talking points have been more trivial than ever.

I support Obama, think that the seal logo is a little over the top. If he keeps doing what he is doing he'll get the real deal so why improvise?

I can just see this logo getting dissected six ways from the middle...

Little Lulu   June 20th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Again, I say – cockiest most arragont person I've ever seen. He is totally unbelievable. I cannot believe people white or black or whatever fall for his lie after lie after lie. You people aren't interested in what happens to the US – you just want a half-black person in there. And i reiterate – he is half black/half white – just doesn't have his head on straight. More and more his true colors are showing and they aren't pretty.

ANd one more thing – all you Obaminators have said HRC supporters were idiots, crazy, etc for saying they would not vote for Obama and would vote for McCain if Obama did not choose her as VP. Now I can't tell you how many posts I've seen that you Obaminators have said that if he does choose HRC you'll vote for McCain. Now get it straight – you talk out both sides of your mouth just like he does.

Now CNN – go moderate (or claim that comments have closed) You're as pathetic as he is.

Are we also going to see Air Force Obama soon?

Peter E   June 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

You know, if Hillary did this the Obama supporters would scream foul, talking about how arogant she is, pretending to have won already, not waiting for people to cast their votes. "Ooo, but it's Obama. Look how presidential he looks. He's being a visionary!"

Lisa   June 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

I think it's presumptuous, arrogant, and disgraceful. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but it seems there are just some icons and symbols that shouldn't be altered or personalized in that way, especially for a presidential campaign, unless it's intended as satire.

Will   June 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Presidental

Ed Chapman   June 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Senator Obama, President wanna-be is going a bit far I think with his new campaign logo. His approval of this new "logo" tells this voter that he thinks he has it wrapped up, and has started packing his bags for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! The Presidential Seal is unique in itself, and is reserved for the sitting President and NOBODY else!
To authorize a close facsimile of the Official Presidential Seal and to appear as a candidate in front of it, simply put is shameful to say the least! Senator Obama should know better!!!!

Awesome!!   June 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

I think that the seal like everything else about Mr. "O" is pretentious and unsetteling. I can't say I don't like the man but my TRUST level is at an all time low concerning him and everthing he says he is. Our Country is in a sorry shape when all we can deliver for candidates for the nations highest office are McCain's, Clinton's & Obama's.

G12   June 20th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

This is kind of a non-story.
If I were Obama and this turns into a big deal I'd just stop using it.

There are bigger issues like a war that is killing and maiming people,
an economy spiraling out of control,
inflation,
people losing their jobs,
rich people get richer while poor people get poorer,
loss of civil liberties,
people flooded out of their homes,
hurricane victims in Louisiana who still haven't been paid,
no national strategy on energy that the american people can point to,
government officials that have tortured people in our name and refuse to take responsibility for it,
and a government/economic system/culture that places making a buck over anything else in the world.

I think a seal on a podium pales in comparison.

JT   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Seems like the same old political tricks as usual from Obama. I thought he was supposed to be above typical politics. This guy is the quintessential politician. When are people going to realize that??

"Vero possumus" is intense! Latin is a totally retro language, I hear.

Ruth Bell   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Comment about the Logo. The Logo is just a logo and should not resemble the Presidential Seal. This is another Obama attempt to belittle the traditions of the United States of America, our Nation under God, and he should develop something entirely different.
He doesn't like our National Anthem and is making every effort
to undermine our traditional American beliefs.

Beltway Insider   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Nice logo. Not really a news story, but whatever.

Let's see how all the Hillary/McCain crazies try to twist this around into something more than it is.

Let the pathological lunacy begin...

Peter E   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

So, when Hillary talks about winning she's being 'arrogant' but when Obama jumps the gun and pretends to be president already it's called 'visionary?'
There is no change... it's the same old hypocrisy!

Bob   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing but the article says the circumference reads "Barack for America" where the photo clearly shows "Obama for America". Perhaps CNN is trying to get their articles up a little too quick...

airmarshal   June 20th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Ego gone wild.

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

This is a bit presumptious isn't it? The general election hasn't started yet. I wouldn't have advised he do that just yet. If there seemed to be a huge lead in October, then go ahead and do it.

moh_newyork!!!   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

nothing to say but President Obama!09 to 2016.GOBAMA!

Heather   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

It will be interesting to see how many people can't tell the difference...

Jim   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

More important than that is that Obama took the time to listen to the governors and brings heads togather to bring idea's to the table of how to help solve the issues at hand! Truly a great leader!

JILL WRIGHT   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

IT ONLY MAKES ME REALIZE EVEN MORE HOW I DO NOT WANT TO SEE HIM BEHIND THE REAL SEAL.

Mary from Westport CT   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

O my god you're kidding me right? He thinks he can take a presidential symbol and make it his. Very disrespectful. If that's not another example of his elitist attitude I don't know what is. Very eye opening for this Democrat that will not be voting for him.

George M. Allen   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

The seal is terrific. The Obama campaign is a Mac to McCain's very early PC.

Telluride, Colorado

Delldude   June 20th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

I'm surprised it hasn't a Muslim Caracture of some kind instead of an Eagle, and letters printed in Arabic on top of that. But you know how the UPPER CRUST has to be a bit different.

Besides he DID SAY "CHANGE" and you'll get plenty of CHANGE that'll be the only money you'll have too.

Peter E   June 20th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Arogant, pretentious bumm.

Narive -- San Diego   June 20th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

This is a brilliant move by the Obama campaign. Everything about this campaign is fresh and new. I can feel the Change all ready.

Obama for American!!

Beverly, NYC   June 20th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

So what is the presidential seal patented or something?

Cue the PUMA Packer and their "isn't he arrogrant rant 3...2...1..."

CNN, what happened at the conference, anything ideas of substance exchanged or was the new logo so mesmerizing?

Anita from Arizona   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Wow, mountain out of a mole hill. Stick to the issues at hand.

Paul   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

What a jerk. He's not even president yet and he is using that seal design? Give me a break. Don't get ahead of yourself Obama, you still can be the loser come Nov. '08. Arrogance leads to demise.

Sam   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Subliminal programing – this is a disgrace to take this seal and modify it in this manner. This should be outlawed!

Nicole   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

I like it a whole lot!

Garry   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Arrogance is thy middle name Obama

Kirk, DC   June 20th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

I have voted for him in the Primaries against the advise of a friend on the hill who knows him and tells me he is condescending and arrogant. Ihave tried very hard to listen to him and believe in what he has been saying and promising but.... when I saw the seal, I had an almost visceral negative reaction. It is not only premature but gives me quite the perception of elitist. This time, he may have gone a little too far.
I guess I am back to being undecided.

Kirk

Gabrielle, SC   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

I like it... No big deal to me though. I'm sure the comments are going to pour in about how arrogant he is for having it, but honestly I like it. I think its cute. I don't see how a seal is supposed to impact your decision to vote or not vote for someone. I don't even think that that is the purpose of it....

NObama   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Rather than an eagle, Obama should have an ostrich or chicken on his seal. This man is a joke.

Mrs. Rayford   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

I love it!!!! Yes we can!!!

Jose Gonzalez   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

I think it is very creative and also has some sort of subliminal message, it is like preparing the people to get used to see the Presidential Seal when when Barack Obama is giving a speech. Personally I believe that reinforces the perception that he could be the next President of the United States.

Supporter   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Brilliant!!

Arrogance is in   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Wow! He might as well announce his Extreme Makeover team and reveal his remodeling plans for the White House! America has never seen such an arrogant candidate in its nation. Most men have a desire to lead and feel honored to do so ... BO thinks he's entitled to it and knows better than anyone else. What has the leadership of this nation come to???

KS   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

SCARY!!!!

Please tell me all the idiots voting for this thing are going to wake up.

WE NEED THE TRUTH   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Looks good to me.

President Obama...............has a nice ring to it.

Sara   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

At first glance it kinda feels propaganda-ish (think USSR) and then mostly just arrogant. I wonder if he even knows the history behind the seal's imagery?

dz in Austin   June 20th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Arrogance has no limits!

Sean   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Personally, I think he's jumping the gun quite a bit. But then again, I don't expect anything different from a campaign that's jumped the gun the whole time. I hope he enjoys the logo as it's the closest he'll get to the Presidential Seal.

Democrats for McCain '08!

Democrat   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

If Hillary is not the VP choice I am voting for McCain.

paul   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

WOW ... for a man of CHANGE he surely know how to play with the visual tricks. Its corny. Sophomoric. Great design and idea.

It's a dirty trick ... visual.

Sad, he looks bored.

JD   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

seems arrogant. Would we then be called the Obamanation?

Yupik1   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Obviously, he has some VERY creative individuals working for him. I hope that translates to creative ways of solving our country's problems when he becomes President of the U.S. It does seem a little too big if you ask me.

JDM   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Bad idea, very bad Idea. To close to the main seal. That person shuold get fired for this. Man this was a bad IDEA!!!!!!

Scott L   June 20th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Typical of his campaign's arrogance...

proud republican   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I do NOT want this left wing socialist 2nd term Jimmy Carter want to be as my President. The vp would be whom – the Rev Wright?
Obama is a Socialist scumbag!

FrankSmith   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I guess Hillary and her "bitter" Clinton supporters need Obama (and supporters) more than Obama needs Hillary..

Obama can win those battle-ground DEM states without the help of Hillary.

Hillary needs the help of Obama to pay her sagging bills, loans etc. This is how terribly Hillary managed her campaign. I guess Hillary and her bitter followers need to beg Obama to come their help!!!

Bottom line, call on McCain to help retire Hillary's debts, loans...!

Donna Wisconsin   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

Love It!

Anna, TX   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

Obama '08

Jeff in Maryland   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

The Obama campaign has been so good with their marketing, stylish website and logos that I'm starting to wonder if they hired the same marketing firm as Apple Computer.

Richinfla   June 20th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

comically transparent.

albert T. Lojko, M.D.   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

One word describes it – "Brilliant"

seth   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Let's see... how long before someone complains about this and the "sanctity" of the Presidential Seal... Someone may have already beaten me to it...

Puzzled   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

We are always told to keep our "eyes on the prize", looks like this is a good way to do it!!

Ankita   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

wow, rofl, this logo cracks me up

Roger   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Woopty-do

Keith R.   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

It says "Obama for America" btw.

At any rate, it's nifty, I think.

mainstream   June 20th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Is this guy just to stuck on himself or are we looking at another uniter not a divider from the Democratic far left. I have to question his motives and his real backers in the Internet Intellagencia. I'm not for McCain yet but Obama, I'm not sure about you yet either.

Jeanette   June 20th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Love it!

Chris from San Antonio   June 20th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Love it.

GoBama!

fred mann   June 20th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Give me a break. A man of the people would not be so pompous to do this!

kingsley   June 20th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Go ahead and put a negative spin on it. Obama is so ahead and so modinized. He put an urban and youth marketing touch to everything he does, since McSame stole his previous logo.

I personaly think it shouldn't be controversial.

Vote Nader   June 20th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Cocky...

It'll be fun listening to the Obama supporters deny the arrogance in this.

Great cant wait for the $1 to have Obamas face on it... In Obama we trust... I'm starting to hate him more every day!

60 YO white female , Springfield, VA   June 20th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

I like it. Very creative !

suzy   June 20th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

he is so friggin arrogant....

Rita Mikridge   June 20th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

What will he change next. This is America founded by our forefathers. Bet they are turning in their gaves.

Voter   June 20th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

This is upsetting. Obama is presumptuous and clearly out of control and will stop at nothing spreading lies about his own record and that of his opponents.

Gold Canyon Gal, AZ   June 20th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

I think it's arrogant, as usual.

D. Martin   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T KNOW YET "WHO EXACTLY IS HE"?

Aaron   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Offensive. This man has super imposed his image on top of MLK and now has the arrogance to infuse his logo into our country's symbol. What next? Obama with a crown of thorns?

Petra, PA   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Love it. Go for the gusto! Yes, the can be an African American in the "White" House.

Libby   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

A correction: The seal says "Obama for America" not "Barack for America" as stated.

Brenda of Saginaw ,Michigan   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

I like it "YES WE CAN" in any language is great.,nice touch.

M. Dodds   June 20th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

I think the "fake seal" is totally inappropriate and in poor taste.

Rudy NYC   June 20th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

At least they were smart enough not to make it green, so that video artists could have a field day like they did to McCain. Blue is an easy color to work with, but not as flexible as green.

I think it needs a second color in it though.

Kenneth M   June 20th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

I THINK IT IS GREAT. IT LOOKS PRESIDENTIAL. YES WE CAN.

MLG   June 20th, 2008 4:04 pm ET

Don't care!! He is not getting my vote. Don't trust him. McCain

Boye   June 20th, 2008 4:04 pm ET

Brian G, Sugar Land, TX   June 20th, 2008 4:03 pm ET
