CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) – Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama sat down in Chicago Friday morning to discuss the economy with visiting Democratic governors, but all eyes were on the Illinois senator’s podium bearing, what might be described as, a quasi-presidential seal – a new Obama campaign logo.
The seal includes the same bald eagle as the actual presidential seal clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons, but instead of a shield covering the center of the eagle’s body, the Obama version displays the campaign’s trademark “O.” Unlike the Presidential seal, which includes the words “Seal of the President of the United States” around the circumference, “Obama for America” and “www.barackobama.com” grace the top and bottom of Obama's.
Finally, just above the eagle, in Latin, are the words – “vero possumus” – which translates to “yes we can,” the oft-heard chant at Obama rallies.
It remains to be seen how the new seal will play in the campaign’s quest to win over working-class voters.

i like the seal its well made kudos to the obama campaign staff for ingenuity. second question why is it that gop supporters are masquerading as hillary supporters to create confusion... please if you love her as much as you say you do write a check to retire the over 20 million campaign debt and stop being paper tigers... you,ll be shamed when hillary campaigns with obama soon.

This is NOT the kind of change I want to see! I am a democrat and I am voting for Sen. McCain. Obama thinks just because he has a lot of money to spend in his campaign he can persuade a lot of anti-obama to join his camp. DON'T COUNT ON ME. You have to do more to convince me and my family and friends.
Bad P.R. idea. Presumptious, offensive to those not in his park and disappointing to his followers who have and will continue to work hard to present the real "peoples' man" and not the "elitest" the other side has almost successfully coined Obama to be. Forget these overzealous and amatueristic ideas. Stick to the strong, straight down to the issues presentations. Logo? Good grief! If you can't find anything else to do, just contact any precincts in the country. Ours is CD14 California. We'll set you on the real tasks.

I like the look of it. It's not arrogant at all. If McCain did something similar it wouldn't be arrogant. I think it's quite ingenious and the people who are working for him are doing a wonderful job.

This man has gone too far to disgrace the presidential seal. This man is very vain indeed to make such a bold and prevocative statement. What exactly is his change we can believe in? Every candidate promises that. Why should we elect him over someone else?
Do the Wright thing, send Barack Hussein Obama back to Illinois, and put someone with experience and real leadership in the White House.

I think "Very Possums" would be more accurate in describing Obama and his campaign. You know....possums are dumb animals of the night that kind of look like big, fat, slow-moving rats. They often play dead when they feel threatened .... but they can also be extremely vicious and nasty if cornered.

I'm surprised Barak dropped the 50 stars surrounding the eagle. He could have used this as a reminder that we do indeed have 50 states - instead of the 57 he quoted while campaigning.
