From
Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.
Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, appearing on 'Fox News Sunday,' said he wouldn't rule out being Sen. John McCain's vice president - if asked - but would have to first discuss a policy position that sets him apart from the Arizona senator: Abortion rights.

"If he asks me, we'll have a private conversation and we'll decide whether or not we ought to tell you what we said," Ridge said.

Host Chris Wallace pressed Ridge on his pro-abortion rights views - something critics say could hurt his chances of running with McCain, who has anti-abortion positions.

So would Ridge's views conflict with his support for a McCain administration? Apparently not.

"Obviously, the vice president's job is to support once a decision is made, whether it's on social issues, economic issues or diplomatic issues, the position of the president of the United States," he said.

"But that doesn't mean that you don't share a belief that you've had your entire life. But again, those are really difficult and challenging questions when the vice president and the president disagree on a wide range of issues, but the vice president's job is to support the administration."

Ridge, the former governor of Pennslyvania, could help McCain in the state, which is in play this year. As a moderately conservative Catholic, he could aid in other states with independent voters.

But his position in favor of abortion rights could hurt McCain among the more conservative GOP base.

McCain voted for the Prohibit Partial Birth Abortion bill in 2003 and "yes" for Prohibiting Funds for Groups that Perform Abortions amendment in 2007. He also believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and supports the Supreme Court ruling upholding the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.

Ridge said Sunday, though, his own views will not change - vice presidency or not.

"I've had that point of view before I got into elected office. I've had it when I served, and I have it now ... we're not a one-issue party. Never have, never will be, although it's very important to our
base. And it's very, very important to Sen. McCain."

Former South Dakota Sen. Tom Daschle, appearing alongside Ridge, was also asked if he'd serve as Sen. Barack Obama's vice president.

Daschle quipped, "I'd say Tom Ridge would make a great V.P. candidate, Chris."

Wallace asked,"For Barack Obama?"

"No, no, no, for John McCain,"he said.

Daschle - an Obama supporter - reiterated that he is not seeking the vice presidency and hasn't talked to Obama about it.

"I don't expect to be asked. And I have no interest. .... I'm not looking for it."

pro-abortion? Who wrote this? No bias in the media? I've never met anyone who was pro-abortion. I've met a lot of people, including my 70 something grandmother, who are pro-choice. Many of whom, like myself, would not choose to have an abortion, but don't want to see this country go back to dangerous and deadly abortions or see anyone serve jail time for making a difficult and deeply personal decision. I think that many of the foundations of the Republican mindset, such as keeping government small, align themselves more closely with pro-choice politics than so called "pro-life" or anti-abortion, anti-choice politics.

Tim, Hershey,PA   June 22nd, 2008 9:01 pm ET

While I believe Tom Ridge would make an excellent Vice President, his views on abortion would not help the more conservative base McCain needs to attract. I think Charlie Crist or Condaleeza Rice or even Colin Powell would make for a better ticket.

McCain for President

Michael   June 22nd, 2008 8:54 pm ET

As hard as John McCain tries he just can't get away from Bush and the idiots around him, of course the point is he isn't exactly trying.

jay   June 22nd, 2008 8:52 pm ET

Conservative republicans for Bob Bar '08.

RB   June 22nd, 2008 8:51 pm ET

Tom Ridge has no credibility with the American people just like all the other bushies, except for maybe Colin Powell.

Why were all of the republicans on Sunday's show coming across as angry, old, scared, white guys?? Don't worry fellas. Obama has white folks in his family, too. He won't screw you over.

Mike   June 22nd, 2008 8:32 pm ET

Yep, just what McBush needs. One of Bush's inept administrators to help McBush continue the totally mismanaged war in Iraq. The selling of our jobs to China. The accumulation of a trillion dollars in debt to the Chinese. The ruined economy. The worthless dollar. The disrespect of every other nation on earth, ad infintum. God help us in this our hour of need.

Bridgette   June 22nd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

Isn't this the same man that came up with that ridiculous color chart for terrorism. But never gave a follow though plan on what too do if something did happen. I think this man is about as smart as a sack of rocks.

George   June 22nd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

It will not matter who McCain picks for VP. When Obama is closely examined he will collapse. Did anyone read his book? Didn't he admit to selling dope?

Tom, Boston MA   June 22nd, 2008 8:17 pm ET

whatever you say at whatever point will do, mr. ridge. the voters couldn't care less, LOL.

One Word for MCCain – Run -

Ridge allowed companies (that are not bonded) access to individual personal info (SSN,DOB,DL,) etc., via credit card accounts Shame Ridge you'll be remembered for the increase of identity theft incidents. Same with CA Gov and their special interest with companies. There's money in crime.

Chut Pata   June 22nd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

Tom Ridge as VP would finally stamp McBush as McSame! Nothing more.

TheTruthHurts   June 22nd, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Whatever. No chance. McCain doesn't need that type of VP. He's got to get someone respectable on the economy and ready to take over the country on that basis.

Slim Pickin's   June 22nd, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Democratic is the way!   June 22nd, 2008 7:07 pm ET

Please think and vote "Democratic" – We are spending billions of dollars on a war. - We own other countries trillions of dollars. -

We are losing jobs, losing homes... gas is sky high and because of that war we are losing lives.

Since Bush, we are losing a lot...– now with the floods, which will cost billions. Now food will go up.

This is not about whom you like or dislike - this is about the Democrats winning... Save the USA or we will be the new 3rd world.
Please do not vote McSame.

Yale University   June 22nd, 2008 7:05 pm ET

Are we any safer? We haven't been attacked since 9/11, thank you very much. The point is that Homeland Security has done its job. As a Pennsylvanian, I believe Ridge would be an excellent VP choice. He did an amazing job as governor of Pennsylvania. He is a moderate Republican, similar to McCain, and would be a good complement even though he is pro-choice (another reason why I like him). I believe Ridge would be able to help court both Republicans as well as Independents. Vote McCain!

TJ   June 22nd, 2008 7:04 pm ET

That will be a for sure losing ticket. Go ahead McCain.

makeeazymoneytoday.com   June 22nd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

This is a joke right? if McCain wants to distance himself from Bush the last thing he should be thinking about doing is picking a VP candidate from Bush's cabinet and the last person he should be thinking about is the Homeland Security guy what about COndelezza Rice she would be the best choice if McCain HAD to pick someone from the Bush Administration.

ANGIE   June 22nd, 2008 6:32 pm ET

ridge would make a horrible vp i live in pa and when he was govenor he did nothing

Roofin Reality, Houston, Tx.   June 22nd, 2008 6:30 pm ET

I think, as an Obama supporter, that Ridge would help McCain in some ways. BUT, I think the social conservatives would not vote him and instead look to to Bob Barr.
Oh, and he'd help put more pressure on Obama in Pennsylvania.

Tough call, but I think McCain has to energize the far right if he wants to keep the contest competitive.
Just an opinion from the center.

Scott M   June 22nd, 2008 6:30 pm ET

It doesn't matter because McCain won't win anyways.

AMW   June 22nd, 2008 6:30 pm ET

VP for McCain??????? Don't care. We need to find the best one for Obama. Of course, most of us who voted in the primaries want someone to nominate Senator Clinton for the Presidential run instead of endorsing Obama. In which case, who would be a good VP for Hillary Clinton. I say Senator Biden.

E. Elliott, Orlando, FL   June 22nd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

He is one of the less objectionable Rebuplicans. And I have to agee that Homeland Security is a joke. Try protection for the ports and our borders, but that migh cost money they could otherwise funnel to their oil lobby owners. Drill Drill Drill, all they know, direct from the oil barons. WE have to move to be secure and have energy now, not 20 years and a trillion $ down the road, if the country lasts that long.

Hillocrat, Ohio   June 22nd, 2008 6:08 pm ET

I think Ridge is the second best choice behind Mitt Romney.

Rob   June 22nd, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Tom Ridge is from my home town of Erie, PA...he was very popular in Pennsylvania when he was governor. I hope he is not picked, as it would increase the work Obama needs to do in Pennsylvania to carry it. Right now, Pennsylvania is Obama's to lose, but with Ridge on the ticket, it may put Pennsylvania in McCain's pocket...

Matt   June 22nd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Tom Ridge is VP choice! He has sooo much experience: military. house of rep, governor of penn, and secretary of homeland security. He can help win the swing state of Penn. What all McCain has to say is: "I'm pro-life, and that's what all that matters. The fact that my running mate is pro-choice is irrelevent."

Mia and Mike   June 22nd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

We are very proud Independents and have voted for both Democrat and Republican (moreso) candidates in local, state and federal elections in the past. This time, our hearts and minds are in synch with Barack Obama at the moment, and we fully expect to vote for him in the Fall. I am baffled though with how in the world Tom Ridges can be at all considered for the GOP VP??? I think anyone closely related to the Bush administration 911 positioning would be a liability to the Republican leaning independents. And what's with the statement about revealing or not revealing the contents of a hypothetical meeting?! We don't want the Bush/Chencey secretive and deceitful administration all over again!

The only thing I want Tom Rigde to discuss with John McCain is a good dentist so that he (McCain) can get his teeth cleaned and whitened.

mike   June 22nd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

please take you privet conversation and leave us alone we dont want mccain anyways. Obama 08

Marc PDX   June 22nd, 2008 5:46 pm ET

Ridge is too ho-hum for VP. Competent, but not exciting...

Collin   June 22nd, 2008 5:45 pm ET

Tom Ridge would do well. People say we don't need homeland security because nothing has happened since. The fail to understand that nothing has happened because Homeland Security has stopped many things and they don't go around telling people what they prevented.

matt   June 22nd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Mccains list of potential VPs is basically Bush's old cabinet.
Why would Mccain want the same people that were to inept for bush?

Chris K   June 22nd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Dear Ed, No one is pro-abortion. It is a horrible thing to have to face. They are pro-choice however. A big difference.

Mc Cain would seek to overturn Roe v. Wade. What's next? Maybe we should suspend Habeaus Corpus or maybe the first ammendment... As long as we all keep wearing our flag pins things will be OK though. That's the ticket.

A vote for the Republican party is a vote for tyrany.

Brian, PA   June 22nd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

As someone who was able to observe Tom Ridge for a long time as Governor of PA, I can tell you that McCain could certainly do a lot worse than Tom Ridge. He's capable and moderate with his own set of views. To lump him in with the incompetence of the Bush administration is unfair. Let me be clear, I'm still avidly supporting Obama but I think you all at least be fair to the man.

Unbelievable   June 22nd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

You people are so darn bitter about not being able to put up canidates who have a chance that you will slam anyone.

Gore, is/was wimpy.

Kerry, is/was a turncoat.

curtis   June 22nd, 2008 5:40 pm ET

His stance on abortion rights may hurt him with the radical right but his tenure as Homeland Security Secretary hurts him with everyone else. Of course one could expect some growing pains as the department got organized, but it is still a farce all these years later. The country is not safer. Civil liberties and basic human rights are routinely ignored and the residents of the Gulf Coast are STILL waiting for an adequate response to Hurricane Katrina.

And that is if you are able to forget for a minute that he is one of Bushes more eager lapdogs.

Tom Ridge, the guy with the deer in the headlight look ..I must comment on another blog..Kevin, on another post. Loved your post turtle story. May I borrow it? It fits Obama to a tee. I had never heard it before, and find it hillar-ious. I remember the Robin Williams movie, Man of the Year, where he accidently wins the election. Didn't have the foggest idea what to do. Obama fits that mold, also that movie is where Obama got the, "we are not red states, we are not blue states, we are the United States." I got to admit it has a nice ring to it. Obama, is a POST TURTLE! I will write Hillary Clinton on my ballot in November, watsted or not my conscience will be clear.

Gary   June 22nd, 2008 5:32 pm ET

Your comments are too harsh. Tom Ridge has never projected himself as being alert enough to do any real damage or good for the country. Besides, he presided over the establishment of the Homeland Security color code threat system. If he is the VP it will be code "blue" for the GOP.

Blake, Boston   June 22nd, 2008 5:29 pm ET

This really isn't what we need. There's no way we could get away with running two white guys regardless of qualifications. It's just the reality of this election.

No More McSame!   June 22nd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

IT dont Matter who is McSame VP.
He lost his "BID" when he Represent a Third Term Bush!
No economic plans
No end of the War in sight (meanwhile Iraq prime minister was seen hugging n kissing the Iranian President) Straight Dis to the US!
No plans for help at the pumps – only some cosmetic offshore drilling that will not get gas to the pumps for another 10 yrs!
A woman's right to choose will be taken away!
McCain was recently discovered taking money from a Texan who said "when rape is inevitable a woman should just lay back and enjoy it" How can a woman vote for that!?!?!!

Now Hillary will be stumping with Sen Obama on Fri!
Whats your "EXCUSE" now Blue Collar Workrs/Women?
What weak excuse will you use to cover up the "REAL" bigotry reason – let me guess: Hillary should be made VP? A sense of 'entitlement' again I see!
I dont think so!
Who ever Sen Obama picks for VP will be BEST suited for that position!
I trust his judgement – It hasn't been wrong thus !!!

Tom Dawson   June 22nd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

Well, all the Bushie failures and incompetents are certainly rising to the surface – at least the ones that aren't under indictment or in jail.

McSameMcCain on myspace   June 22nd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

To bad Tom Ridge's mom didn't believe in abortion rights and exercise that right.

Pat from NC   June 22nd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

As a Pennsylvanian, I can truly testify that as a senator, as a governor, and as head of homeland security, Mr. Ridge did almost nothing. He won elections on looks and smiles, but can't answer a question straight or look you in the eye when speaking to you. If McCain is foolish enough to ask him, the Obama landslide will be even bigger than expected.

EBC   June 22nd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

Pleeeez, John Ridges is nothing more than a Bush Croonie. He's not worth a penny of usefulness. Homeland Security was nothing more than a complete joke. Are we any safer? What has Homeland done that has made YOU safer? All Homeland did was make more of Bush's croonies RICHER and GREEDIER!!! Okay? Okay.

Walt, Belton,TX   June 22nd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

Not to mention we see Tom Ridge as an part of the Bush Family anyway. So please Mc Cain , please choose Ridge that will surely increase the lead Obama has as reported by News Week .

nate   June 22nd, 2008 4:52 pm ET

This is precisely why McCain is in such trouble. While the Dems may be temporarily divided over personalities (obama vs Hillary), its already beginning to heal. The Repubs however are split along beliefs and principals, call it the Huckabee/Romneys vs the Bloomberg/Hagels. Ridge would be a slam dunk but being pro-choice, he's out.

Aaron Williams   June 22nd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

I think that guy was born after his time, say Berlin 1935? Him and Uncle Adolf would agree on many fine points of statesmanship and sovereignty. Both were privy to protecting the 'homeland' from terrorists and communists and rounding up those illegal immigrants, undesirables and pot smokers under the guise of fighting terrorism, can you say gypsies, political dissenters, and drug addicts in German. In the last decade if we haven't marched to fascism, then we at least danced the conga line to it, with Ridge, Card, Yoo, Rice, Ashcroft, and Gonzales leading the pack. The truth hurts. I'm a history major, as Herodotus said:
"A man calumniated is doubly injured—first by him who utters the calumny, and then by him who believes it".

I'm not maying much attention to ANY of this – Let Obama & McCain ( and their advisors) decide.

TXus Steve   June 22nd, 2008 4:44 pm ET

I will never understand how anyone (especially a Catholic) can support the murder of an unborn human being. I'm a moderate Catholic, but this is only one influence on my belief. The fundemental right to exist seems to trump any ideoligical belief.

I have always been confused how so-called conservatives are the group labeled as war mongers and stand up for this belief in life and yet so-called liberals that want to protect every other life on the planet but unborn humans do NOT stand up for our country's first defined right...that of LIFE!!!

Human life should not be sacrificed for one's understandibly impacted convenience. A solution to that social woe MUST be found in another manner besides termination of the indefensible human life.

Vic   June 22nd, 2008 4:40 pm ET

I am so glad that people are starting to talk about the flip flop in this campaign. It probably hurt John Kerry in 2004. That was the political points that the GOP's dictator-like attacks on Mr. Kerry were based on. Fast forward to today and McCain is doing the same thing. One minute he says "we will be in Iraq for 50 or more years" then he rebuttals and says "what i meant....." Yes we have been in Korea for a long time but are there citizens rising up against us? No. In the host of other countries that we have troops do we get attacked on the scale that our troops are attacked in Iraq? So Mr McCain what is your long term plan for America? Never mind I'll wait until you flip because your original answer flopped.

J.C.   June 22nd, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Governor Ridge was an outstanding governor for PA. I think his administration is hard for Gov. Rendell to compete with. He would be a great VP for Senator McCain.

It's impossible to find two people agreeing on all issues. As long as the VP doesn't intend to be the co-president, it will work out for the nation no matter which party we are talking about.
Obama/Hillary will be a nightmare ticket.

David   June 22nd, 2008 4:33 pm ET

Not well rounded enough, a male at McCains age (and especially his medical history) is more likely then not to encounter a major health issue in the next 4 1/2 years that will not allow him to effectively conduct or complete his term.

Tom Ridge? Wasn't he in charge of the Department of Homeland Insecurity? That agency designed to make Americans feel they were more secure, but really was a good cover by Bush to invade the privacy of U.S. citizenry without providing much more than a "feel good" sensation? I don't recall him doing an incredibly good job, be it at protecting us, or even pretending to.

I want him on the McCain ticket about as much as I'd want Hillary Clinton on the Obama ticket –which is to say, not at all. I'd like to see the candidates choose VPs this year who echo their own views for change, not those designed to court a wider spread of votes by appearing to be a compromise.

Animals and their unborn are more cherished by these killers/abortionists than our own human unborn babies. THINK ABOUT THAT! Those who would die to save a dog or cat are sometimes killing their own.

Ridge and other killers/abortionists will have to answer to their Maker and I would not want to be in their place when they do.

You know, the court could have thrown out Roe vs. Wade many times over the Republican reign–it did not happen. Stop scarring the world over this one. What would be scary is what the (?) kid on the opposite ticket might come up with as potential court seats. Fear is mostly in the unknown?

I Used To Be A Democrat   June 22nd, 2008 3:31 pm ET

John McCain would be wise not to ask this guy. What a chump.

randy   June 22nd, 2008 3:29 pm ET

While every body dont agree with john macain we dont even care who his VP is because he will loose in november and really in on on big way.

Marie in California   June 22nd, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Not a good choice for VP. Ridge couldn't bring anything to the ticket that would appeal to voters. Jindal is another story....but so very young .... and inexperienced.

But then, the Democrats are running an inexperienced candidate too.....and for president, of all things!

McCain – 2008

Joe Reed   June 22nd, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Tom who? He already proved to be a terrible manager when he took up the Department of Homeland Security..Red Code, Yellow Code, Green Code...what a joke!

randy   June 22nd, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Well may the best person in both parties get the VP.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   June 22nd, 2008 3:24 pm ET

big woo.... I wouldn't rule it out either.... SO WHAT?

shane   June 22nd, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Wouldn't be very smart for John Mccain to pick Ridge. Voters, including myself, see Mccain as a warmed over version of Bush. TO pick his former homeland security chief would be a disaster. LEts not forget that Ridge is the chief architect of the unconstitutional Patriot ACT. Ridge played a huge part in the creation of Guantanamo and had his hand in the Iraq war debacle. As an Obama supporter I would love for Mccain to pick a BUsh insider. THis would just buttress B.O.'s claim that Mccain is 3rd Bush term

Obama/bloomberg 08

Monica for Obama in Indiana   June 22nd, 2008 3:16 pm ET

Any body can go on McCain's ticket as long as they are Presidential material, because McCain is going to last long because of his loss of memory.

Ron Paul would be good in anybody's administration

Go get um! Obama

JASON   June 22nd, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Ridge is a good man, a man of integrity; his odds of becoming VP were much greater in my opinion with George W. Bush than with McCain. As to Ridge delivering PA, where I live, it is doubtful since his successor as governor, Ed Rendell, is the new standard for statewide election, extremely popular, and will probably be able to swing this toss-up state to Obama–whether Rendell is Obama's vp candidate or not.

Bill   June 22nd, 2008 3:08 pm ET

McCain shouldn't pick Ridge as VP... just my opinion

Jan From Boca Raton, Fl.   June 22nd, 2008 3:07 pm ET

John McCain is Anti Abortion, but that is his right . He will not try to
over turn Roe v Wade if he is elected. He has already stated that.

Remember John Kennedy was Anti Abortion, he was a devout catholic, and that certainly didn't hurt him as being one of the best
Presidents in history.

Franky   June 22nd, 2008 3:03 pm ET

To be honest guys, McCain couldv'e had it better. We know what happen in Cali, right? You know, the gay marriage?? I'm not gonna lie but Senator McCain couldv'e taken the protesters if he wouldv'e said something. And since he wants to have a chance in Cali, that probably was his only chance(not counnting the off shore, still a long shot). I'm not saying he shouldv'e stood up for what he believes because quite frankly, that's what he's doing. All I'm saying is I don't know what he believes in.....

Me personally, I hate abortion! I mean, I think is a disgrace! And I'm not gonna go far and say that is not fair but I will say that I do believe is unfortunate that they have to do that and I have 7 sisters! LOL!!! What bothers me is not whether they can't take care of it or not, is whether they understand about life because in my opinion, they don't....

Can I tell you something guys? I'm not gonna lie but I don't agree with many issues with my boy. I mean, let's face it! Do you think I wanna wake up one morning and getting ready for work in the "plant"..........literally! LOL!!!! Talk about going green. And do you think that I agree with his ideaology??? Don't get me wrong, this is not being a liberal but what I call it a, "Liberal Haduken", LOL!!!!!! That's a Street Fighter thing, LOL!!!

Let's face it guys, my boy has ideas that pretty much you like it or not. Is different ideas, to tell you the truth but little do people know that I still believe strongly in what I believe. NO ONE is taking that away from me. Listen guys, I don't think being a conservative is someone who can't accept change. Why??? Because MY God tells me to expect it....

Vig   June 22nd, 2008 3:02 pm ET

Well, this would be a good choice – somebody with homeland security background – get Obama in there and he will be removing women with scarfs from his back drops, inciting resentments. Write-in Hillary on your November ballot and get a leader in the White House, not a lecturer.

Phil, FL   June 22nd, 2008 3:02 pm ET

Hey – good match.

Ridge had convicted felons acting as his body-guards (armed) when he was Gov.

McCain IS a flip-flopper !!

Divorced (changed his mind? circumstances changed, wife got fat and became disabled? flip-flopped about promise before God and Man). The ULTIMATE flip-flop so he could have his cutesy little millionairess.

What else has he flip-flopped on?

Mike   June 22nd, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Isn't this the guy who went on national tv and told Americans that duct tape is our best defense against a chemical attack? Sounds like VP material to me!
Obama in a landslide. It's a new dawn...

A Nightingale Sings in Berkley Square   June 22nd, 2008 2:54 pm ET

It may be a smart move, but let's get serious. He laughs too much when he speaks to the media and to the audience. I think it is a quirk and makes him come off as insincere.

I will support anyone that John McCain selects as the ticket would be better than the spend and tax Obama.

I see that Obama will bring out a new rope a dope a day just to get the crowd excited. No harm done, he would say, but cause some excitement in an otherwise dull news day. Give me a break another idiotic attempt at levity.

Either Obama is the world's biggest fool or a complete idiot for putting a neo-presidential seal on his podium. If he can change the seal of the president, what makes you sure he won't change the name of the president's house. Give me a break! I like the name of Our White House. No change please.

I, for one, hope the closest he gets to the White House is the outhouse. He doesn't belong there as he is a serial quitter and a girlie man.

Second, did you see his gloves? Nice and frilly don't you think? What a comical cartoon character he is becoming.

How can anyone take him seriously. He is a clown. I saw new pictures today of sand baggers. I noticed not one was wearing gloves or girlie gloves like Obama likes to wear.

Give me a good old fashioned candidate with our values.

Raymond Duke   June 22nd, 2008 2:51 pm ET

I think it would be a major mistake to pick Tom Ridge for the vp. He does not know how to deliver a speech or does not know how to fight tough. John McCain needs an articulte fighter for vp and one that the people would want in case something happen to him. Huckabee fits both of these catergories. He don't need Ridge to win pennsylvania. I think Obama has lost that state no matter how much Rendell campagins for him. People in pennsylvania don't like being called uneducated racist and bitter gun toting religious nuts. because they liked Hillary better. The only ones that will support Obama in pennsylvania or Phildephia, mostly black and liberals and some college votes.

Upon Further Review   June 22nd, 2008 2:50 pm ET

This guy is the ULTIMATE KNUCLEDRAGGING WAR MONGER.
