Joe Biden is a great man but I think we need a governor. Did all of my fellow Obamacans see the latest GA polls? 44%–McCain, 43%–Obama, and 6%–Barr? With Barr being a spoiler we have got a real shot in GA.

Let's stop wasting all of our time arguing with a small percentage of insane Hillary supporters. I remember Senator Biden said he was not interested in VP soon after he withdrew from the primary. He said he could contribute more by staying in the Senate.

Biden is now willing to serve the nation with Obama. You have to give the man the respect he deserves.

Strickland doesn't have to worry. He won't ever be elected for anywhere near the White House. I don't know if his rejection to serve with Obama is due to his endorsement of Hillary, but to say he will refuse even if elected is troubling.

Gotta love Obama.

He played the race card so successfully (while claiming they never played the race card) against Hillary Clinton to eliminate her from the race... that he is now using the exact playbook and strategy in the GE against McCain.

Obama's premise is that since he is black and running for president he is entitled to BE president.

Any candidate who dares to campaign against him- be it HRC from his own party or McCain from the Republican side- IS RACIST just for daring to run against him.

And... any voter who votes against Obama is likewise a racist for not making Obama the first black president.

Gotta love the audacity and arrogance of that position.

And, once again the media won't call him on the race baiting.

For the record here, I AM voting for Obama, but because I am a democrat. Hillary is still the best choice, but i will still support Obama and hope he proves me wrong, but i wont hold my breath. That being said, he is still a better choice than McCrazy.

sounds like the implication here is that some of our congressional leaders are saying NO because Senator Obama is an African-American candidate. I hope that this is not the case, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were.

Senator Biden has always been very strong, and always direct with his statements. I admire these qualities and I think he would make a great VP. Still hoping for Senator Clinton though.

The lead of this story clearly shows how CNN feels about Joe Biden as vice president, when they have 0 evidence of who or who isn't being considered (apparently Hillary Clinton is the only rational choice). Biden, who I supported in the primaries as far as I'm concerned was the most qualified to be president. As much as I'd love him to hold the great big title of vice president, he'd be an ideal Secretary of State. I could settle for an Obama-Biden ticket.

Biden would be tough and is smart enough and sharp enough to make McCain and/or McCain's running mate pay dearly during any kind of debate on the issues.

For those who asked but would this be change as Biden has been a Washington political insider, quit looking for every move that Obama makes to come out of left field so it looks like total change from the past. Even if Biden were selected Obama would be in charge and that certainly is plenty of change. I can hear you people now. If Obama does not pick the seven dwarfs for his canbinet you'll say that Obama is not following through on the changes he promised. The only people who can ensure that this country changes its course as well as its politics is the people themselves. Obama is simply the vehicle. So stop with your lack of change comments. This article is highly misleading in my opinion. I saw the show. He did say he would say yes if asked but he was very clear that he did not want to be asked and he did not expect to be asked. He said that IF he was asked, he COULD NOT say no. The point he was trying to make was that if the nominee thought he could bring something to the ticket to help the Democrats win, he had to do his part and agree to be the running mate. What a shocker that CNN would twist the story.

Biden has been my choice for number two for quite awhile. While he has been on Capitol Hill for awhile, he is a no nonsense kind of guy – straight shooter who gets things done. Mirrors Obama's ideology very nicely and his extensive experience in foreign relations/policy plugs the hole that the Reps are trying to hit Barack on.

Biden's comments showed his strength and weakness in one sentence - speaks his mind (without a brand name for it like "Straight Talk Express"), but his mind isn't always the smartest (implying that being part of the historical ticket is more of the appeal than, say, being VP of the USA). I like the guy, but he's just loose enough to be a liability.k I don't understand why former Sec'y of State Albright isn't mentioned more as a VP candidate. What is she doing now? Did better at the middle east peace efforts than most, would appeal to the Hillary loyalists who wanted to vote gender (but without actually pandering to that sentiment), generally respected I think throughout the party. I watched the piece you are referring and you are taking it absolutely out of context. You are misleading the public with this story and this type of distortion is why the media cannot be trusted.

I am by not means a Biden fan, but you should print his entire statement which was, and I'm paraphrasing, 'I have said and maintain that I am not interested in the Vice President position but would take it if asked and I thought it would help Obama win.'

Totally different from what your are reporting.
You should be ashamed of yourselves and should not wonder why the is such distrust and disdain for some American news media.

Biden has the credentials on foreign policy that neither McCain nor Obama have. In other words, Biden seems to have an understanding of asymetric warfare and he understands the trade-offs that were made to get us into this mess and what kinds of move we need to initiate to get us out. he also understands the zero sum game we have gotten ourselves into with China.
Now is he Hillary Clinton – a bonfied genius – no but, he's sharp, experienced, and can explain his positions with clarity and sound logic – unlike McCain – who basically says stay the course and trust me. Sorry John the American people did that for 8 years and the South as well as the rest of the country has gotten sick of eating mud.
