Obama’s presidential seal gone after one use

The Obama campaign is no longer using the above logo.

(CNN) – Barack Obama’s communications director said Monday that the presidential seal the campaign unveiled last week at a meeting with Democratic governors won’t be seen again.

“That was a one time thing for a one time event," Robert Gibbs told CNN.

Pegged to Obama’s rostrum at Friday’s meeting was his campaign’s version of the presidential seal – a bald eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons, but instead of a shield covering the center of the eagle’s body, Obama’s had the campaign’s trademark “O.” Rather of the words “Seal of the President of the United States” around the circumference, “Obama for America” and “www.barackobama.com” lined the top and bottom.

The Latin “Vero Possumus” was arched between the eagle’s wings, meaning “Yes we can,” an Obama slogan and rally chant.

Many wondered whether a seal – with Latin phrasing no less – was the best idea for a candidate fighting for the working class vote and trying to fend off allegations of elitism.

This logo was awesome, I was hoping for a t-shirt. I'd hire those Obama designers in heartbeat. Every design they've done is tasteful and well-proportioned. it's too bad media schmucks have to go and overblow everything. How about scrutinizing McCain as hard as you do Obama?

No TRUE leader is this brazen and arrogant.

This is the stuff of dictators.

More calls of being elitiest? Do our candidates really need to "dumb down" their campaign to please the media, and ultimately, the public?

I for one WECOME, a campaign that acts intelligently, and treats us equally.

When the seal was introduced we were told it was a one time thing. People, read for yourselves and don't depend on the Republicans to tell you the truth, have they ever?

  5. dictatorship is coming

    His cult was for it.

Free thinkers rejected the obvious transparent propaganda.

He is superimposing himself as president before the people get to vote.

The office of the president of the United States is an office...to be respected...it's not the person who is elected to the office to uphold the duties of the office. There is already a seal for the office. George Washington rejected being crowned King...let's keep it that way.

lol @ Obama being "arrogant" because he used a different logo for one event.

You people never cease to amaze me.

It's not elitist. It's GRAPHIC DESIGN!

No matter who does what, there will always be someone who, having nothing better to do at the moment, comes up with an off-the-wall criticism.

    And I voted for Hillary.

  16. too much even for lifelong dems

As a lifelong democrat who never before found a party nominee I could NOT vote for....

    WELL OBAMA IS THE ONE.

He drove me from the party I once loved.

This guy is too much for true democrats to stomach.

For anyone else- this would be the straw that broke the camel's back- but Obama gets a free ride from the media because... did you notice? he's black...

That's right Eli. It's all about getting the 'story straight'; because it's certainly not about telling the truth with Obama. Enlightened Voter, you can't fight Obama on the issues because he has no positions, just spin and negative attacks. Against NAFTA until it's better to be for NAFTA. For public financing until it's better to be against public financing. Rev. Wright' is his mentor, until Rev. Wright is thrown under a bus. His church is where he worshipped for 20 years, until people saw how racist it was, and it's under a bus too. There is only one qualified candidate, and it's not Junior Obama.

    and also...

who care's if a political candidate is elitist or not?

our current president is the farthest from being an elitist (except for the silver spoon), and you see how that all worked out.

    I loved that seal!

I WISH IT WAS A BUMPER STICKER!!!

Go head Senator Obama...."Speak those things that are not as though they were!"

Give me a break, please! That seal was never meant for a one-time event. It caused such an uproar about Obama's poor taste and arrogance, and his natural inability to connect with regular, blue-collar voters, that they decided to nix the stupid "Presidential Seal".

"One time thing for a one time event" – or SPIN -MY CHANGED Presidential Seal –
The American people were outraged at my ARROGANCE – and the DNC made me get rid of it!!!! Obama is an ARROGANT FRAUD!

At least it shows that the Obama campaign LISTENS to the will of the people. Can't say the same about John McCain.
What does the polls say about the war in Iraq? What is his position?
