Obama has lost this democrat because he and his supporters can't have it both ways. New type of politics = BS.
Repubs using scare tactics is bad but its ok for him to threaten women with the repeal of roe v. wade if McCain is elected. Scare tactic politics if you ask me.
Changes his position after giving his word and all his supporters say he didn't pledge he said he would look into it. Take the blinders off he pledged. Blaiming the Clinton's for playing the race card and saying he is above that type of politics and who played the race card the other day BO he is a shameful disgrace and once again the lefties and young people in the democratic party have given us an unelectable candidate. way to go SMART PEOPLE!

I don't think there is anything wrong with a 50-state strategy afterall isn't the president of USA supposed to represent all the 50 states. It's ok let Obama get out there and speak to all kinds of people, even the racists. I think it needs to be done. People who have doubts about him need to see him and hear him to get a better feel for his agenda.

Dear Labor members

You do not have to support Obama who is Dr. No and a serial quitter. I urge you to vote for a tried and true and trusted real man. Not a glove wearing girlie man who shovels a couple of sand bags for a photo op,

I am ashamed of our unions being stereotyped. i worry about our great nation having a leader making fun of our hard working white men and women from the mid west who are "called bitter and gun clingers and God Fearing."

We may be "God Fearing" but we aren't bitter and don't cling to our guns. We use our guns to hunt and provide food for our tables that the do nothing Democratic Senate and House have put us on some hard times.

Wolf,

It looks like your ongoing quest to get Bill Clinton to say whether/if he's going to endorse Obama has finally paid off. But that rather vague statement from a mere "spokesperson" wasn't quite what you were expecting, perhaps?

Stop trying to influence this election, CNN.

Obama is trying to "buy" the Presidency in every sense of the word! He has no shame and will have no problem doing what it takes to win. Of course, if we the people of this great nation let this happen, we will be judged as fools for ever! He has no talent, has done nothing for our country, and does not have the experience it takes. Yes, he has Oprah, but if I were Oprah, I would first try to help my country in any way I can to get rid of poverty before I would put my millions and millions into this empty suite! People of America, wake up! This phony will buy the Presidency if we don't stand up and defeat him. Fortunately the GOP is a brutal machine and will hopefully rip him apart. I wish I could say I am a Republican saying all this, but unfortunately I am a Demcorat saying all this!!!

Not only is he on an ambitious quest....he doesn't appear to have an actual plan in place for the possibly that he might achieve it.

Are we really ready for a President who lacks cultural literacy relative to our nation, the armed services, and our historical foreign policy lessons?

I think not.

Ignore history--ignore brutality and evil--ignore the lessons learned in the social and economic turbulence of the decades and doom yourself to a repeat performance.

Our addiction and dependence on fossil fuel was increased, and empowered, beginning with Reagan. Jimmy Carter was headed in the right direction. He installed solar panels in the white house. Reagan had them removed, he was an oil man, as well as most of the Republican leadership for the last 30 years. It was laughed at; considered crazy. Republicans were basically looking only at the all the money, they could make. They worked so hard on winning the cold war, and enlisting Russia into Capitalism (oh I think they called it "democracy" what a joke). Then Bush the 1st and Clinton, thought what if we brought China and it's billions of people into this Capitalistic system. wonderful, however, no foresight, no vision was ever contemplated. How, was the earth going to withstand all these peopledemanding fossil fuel energy? That mattered not, just the rising balance in the bank accounts. As if this money could consistently be made as such with no future consequences.(Utter foolishness, I say!)
Well, now we have ridiculous gas prices, a planet in peril, and a war that was started not with high ideals for democracy, just control of oil.
Mcain offers no real vision, no real way to solve this HUGE problem that he and his Republican friends created. Think of where we might
be today, if we had begun researching alternate sources of energy over 30 years ago. Solar Panels; not so crazy now, not so funny now, is it?

There are many blacks who are not registered to vote in the southern states. The Obama campaign is smart for targeting the unregistered black voters. In the past many blacks felt like their votes would not count so they did not register. There is hope this time.

John McCain doesn't even have Texas on his belt. There will be a fight here. Many people are upset about the high prices and the war.
I am willing to bet Obama wins Texas.
Yes we can and will win !

I am not an articulate woman, I don't have a college degree, I come from a small town that is full of small town thoughts and ideas, but what I am is a concerned American citizen. My concern lies with presidential candidate Obama. This is a man that continues to pledge (for lack of a better word) his loyalty to the African American community, claiming to be a "black man" that is there to fight for the rights of his people. Well, last time I checked Mr. Obama is the child of a white mother and a black father. This makes him just as much white as he is black, so why is it that he has no loyalty to both races. Notice how every picture you see is of him and his white family, where is his black family, oh yea, they obviously weren't supportive of him. So, please tell me how you can try to play the 2 sides against one another now. WE ARE ALL AMERICANS...ONE NATION UNDER GOD, leave the race card out of it. And while we are on the subject, if he as a presidential candidate cannot pledge his allegience to America, then he doesn't sound like an American to me. I will not vote for Barack Obama, not because he is black / white, but because he is not an American at heart!

Almost laughable.

On the one hand, Obama supporters say Obama won fair and square....on the other hand....they say that if Obama does not win the GE against McCain, then it is Hillary Clinton's fault.

Sounds so Obama....everything is Hillary Clinton's fault. Which is all the MORE reason it makes it harder to vote for him!

Sounds so Obama....everything is Hillary Clinton's fault. Which is all the MORE reason it makes it harder to vote for him!

So what if Obama has "run a great campaign?" Tell me what this proves? That he can speak the English language better than George W Bush? Big deal. The reality is, Obama hasn't accomplished anything but telling the public that he will do and say anything to win. He will lie and back peddle when caught with something that turns on him (think Wright and the Presidential sign, among others). No Obama. The Clintons have been out there working for the good of the people for decades. What has Obama done? NOTHING! Can't vote for this snake oil salesman.

After spending so much time and money on her ego trip, the Senator from New York can finally do her job again. She only took on New York to run for President someday. It's the same reason why she accepted Bill Clinton's behavior. She's a desperate woman, willing to do or say anything to erase the shame Bill laid on her. I actually feel sorry for her.

However, to ask for her debt to be paid off?!?! I don't feel that sorry for her. Why should anyone but Billary be responsible for her decisions? Ask your supporters Hillary, not people like us who are ready for something other than the names Clinton or Bush for the last 20 years. Look at this country after you people!

For now, please let's move on.

Obama/AnyoneOtherThanClinton

PS Running a joint ticket after you behavior is like saying the following:

Clinton/Lewinsky 2016

You bet Obama has an ambitious quest Wolf!

And, his expectations are high! He is the fascist Mussolini, and the JFK cult of personality all rolled into one. Wow! :(

Obama is not the kind of change Americans can believe in. The more I watch him in action the more I fear for America!

Can he fool the majority of Americans? I don't think so! :)

This former Democrat, leaning Independent, will never vote for Obama!

Why not compete in all 50 states. I am tired of the Democrats and Republicans giving up states. Your party may not win the state this time but the more you compete in each state the better each major parties chances in each state. I do not blame Obama for not taking public financing. How is he going to be able to compete in all 50 states without lots of money. As long as he average donation remains small then it is not a problem for me.

Unfortunately, winning over traditionally Republican states, often seems to involve winning over people who can be, but are hopefully not, influenced by fruitcakes like Dobson who understand neither the Bible nor history nor historical literature nor therefore, of course, OBAMA, who clearly demonstrates a sound understanding of all the foregoing. And he does not even pretend to be an expert.

I want to believe that most Republicans are not fruit flies circling fruitcakes!

Some red states are susceptible this election cycle and at least over the next several months it is a good idea to test the waters rather than just conceding based on historical trends. The real reason Hillary lost, for example, had everything to do with the states she chose not to even compete in and little to do with gender bias. She essentially conceded too many states before she even got her campaign rolling.

The real advantgage of the 50 state strategy, however, is at the voting district level. If you put in an appearance in a district where you could pick up a senate or house seat that will count after the election, whether or not Obama wins the state. House and senate seats are apportioned, after all, by district - not state. Obama is running for president, but he is also building a coalition for change. If he's the only new face in Washington after the election, then "change" is just a slogan.

People are organizing in every state for Obama. We are standing together for change and will do our best to make it happen. He does not have to "be" everywhere. "We the People" are the ones that count, and Obama has reminded so many of that very significant fact.

As someone young, I watch speeches of FDR and JFK and I get chills.

I ask myself why?

Because you cynical ________ for the last 30 years have spent more time tearing down what isnt just like you (see GOP, 1960-2007).

When did supporting ambition and hope become naive and ridiculous? It wasnt 9/11. It happened long before that (Watergate, Iran-Contra). So now the status quo is the law of the land, despite the fact that the status quo SUCKS for 99.5% of Americans.

That and most Americans are too STUPID to know who is on their side, and how to align voting preference with that fact.

Optimism and Hope aren't naive. In fact, there is no place for politics without those two things. Stop demonizing Sen. Obama because he isnt clouded and enslaved to the status quo. Embrace it!

Dobson is no different from the Taliban trying to take over the government in Afganistan or the Mullah fanatics in Iraq.

He doesn't like McCain and he hates Obama, but see where hypocrites like him, along with Bush have led us. All they talk about is gay marriage and abortion. but they solicit sex in toilets and inhale meth with male prositutes.

America needs a president that understands that the country belongs to Christians and non-Christians alike. The focus must be indeed be on hard-pressed families, not just on gay marriage and abortion.

Sorry for digressing

He defeated Hillary in the primaries because he adopted a similar stratergy. Why should he abandon the winning stratergy ?

Brandon...did you forget that Obama won the primary in North Carolina? We will definitely be supporting Obama in November.

Obama's Babies Mama...your name speaks volumes about your ignorance, so I don't need to address that. But don't worry...the money won't run out. He's the antichrist, remember? I don't know why you folks don't realize that. There's really nothing you can do. You might as well just vote for him in November, because there is NO stopping the antichrist!!! LOL...what a bunch of idiots you people are.

This eloquent, intelligent man is going to be out next President. And I, for one, am quite proud. I am hoping that the idiotic rumors will stop very soon. He is accused of playing the race card, but DUH...he's black. Race is always going to be an issue, and racism is alive and well in 2008. No, opposing Obama doesn't make you a racist. But if you were an HRC supporter who is now supporting John McCain, you are either an idiot or a racist...you decide.

I think he's getting a bum rap no matter what he says and does. I wish both candidates would talk about themselves instead of putting each other down. If he travels around and does that, he might get alot more votes and alot more respect. I really don't think they like talking about each other, but they really don't have a choice with everyone else getting involved. I hope he makes it to all 50 states. McCain can do that too if he handles his money right, even with the price of gas as it is right now.

Enlightened voter, who is it that describes Obama as brilliant? You? Why don't you just marry the guy? Running a campaign is nothing like running a country. Besides, what was so brilliant? He outspent Hillary by 3 or 4 to 1, and just barely beat her. even after he was a sure thing, he was still losing states by 30% margins. Your constant mcwar comments are nothing but hateful. Frankly if Obama is supposed to be bringing everyone together he needs to find a new group of supporters. All I hear is you guys do is bash Hillary for not quiting sooner, bash Republicans, and bash a true hero, John McCain. Obama's legislative accomplishments are nonexistent. 2 of 3 three he cited in his commercial were in the IL senate, not the US Senate. He wasn't even the chief sponsor of 2 of them either. Instead of spewing hate, why don't you enlighten us on his accoplishments? Just once be positive and tell us facts, not platitudes. You stick to hate, because your guy has done nothing you can brag about. By the way, there's also a big difference between management and leadership. America doesn't need a manager, it needs a leader. Besides his campaign what has Obama led? Nothing!

Brooklyn, you must not have heard about Sen. Obama. He has been working before Washington. You know, the things a candidate did before they were elected matters as well.

The other thing, people keep making a fool of themselves talking about the 57 state issue when Obama actually said 57 states and cacuses. The best thing to do is stop repeating everything said by everybody on the news. Remember how Chris Matthews made a complete fool of the young man who tried to accused Sen. Obama of being an appeaser based on something Bush said when he was trying to cast doubt in the minds of the people of Isreal. As it turned out, he didn't even know what an appeaser was. Furthermore, he didn't even know his history and should not have been talking. Too much of this is going on.

If God says Sen. Obama will be president in 2008, the devil out of hell can't stop it.

Obama 08!!!!!

Wolf,

you know between you and Lou Dobbs, it is very difficult to decide who is the most anti-Obama, but i think that you run a very close second!

By the way Obama supporters, you must know that Barack really and truly intends to campaign in everyone of the 50 States. He has been saying this for months now, and you know something? "YES HE WILL"
