The whole sermon should have been played and you will see what lead to Pfleger statement. Yes it was hard and perhaps to strong, however there is some truth.

Sen Clinton should not have been used in his illustration to some that racism does exist. There are those who think because of skin color they should be awarded some special right. This thinking is in all races.

Why is it that these hate mongers go by the title "Reverend"? Preaching Hate against other races or country is not Holy or practicing the word of God the way I was taught. We have way to many hate monger Reverends in this country and some are in politics. As long as we have that way of thinking and thin skinned we will never get race relations straightened out. We seem to be going back ward and that is a shame after as far as we have come in the last 60 yrs.

I am a catholic and I can tell you this priest needs to calm down and think about pastoring his sheep instead of being a national political attack dog. I am sure his bishop is going to demand that he quit trying to preach politics from the alter. He was in a black church and so I believe he was practicing a different brand of Christianity in that Trinity Church out of respect for their tradition but he has no justification in letting his pride conquer his will at this point in the dialouge.

I agree with Wright, Pfleger, and Farrakan on a lot of subjects, but not all subjects.

He was not speaking the truth! Obviously, you are not Catholic and if you are you are not knowledgeable about Catholicism! I've been a practicing Catholic for over 50 years and I know I would never sit in church and listen to this kind of hateful language. But this would never be tolerated in the Diocese in my city and others. Never! He is an ordained priest—he took vows. He is a member of the Church called by God to proclaim the Gospel. He is a leader who is given the grace to teach the truths of the gospel and inspire God’s people in worship. The Catholic Church promotes social justice. Social Justice is the Catechism of the Catholic Church and it is an essential part of the Catholic faith. BUT, we don’t embrace nor need the type of teachings this priest communicates. That is not what we are about. To me, he is abusing his Holy Orders and is a disgrace to the Catholic Church just like the priests who took advantage of innocent children are. But, one of these days, he will have to answer to someone higher than himself, and I guarantee you it won't be Obama.

No, of course Father Pfleger has nothing to apologize for. We've all seen pundits with man-crushes on Obama pushing to get to the front of the line to gush over their idol. Obviously, being moronic in public is not criminal.
But Dean, Pelosi, Reid and so many of the supposed leaders of the party that calls itself Democratic, now they do have something to apologize for.
They can wait until after we the people have removed them from their positions of power in our party to say they're sorry for not speaking out against the lunacy of people like Father Pfleger. Why not let them wait? They waited until after the primary and caucus phase of the nomination process was over to admit that such horrible things were being said about Senator Clinton throughout the nomination process.
Yes, we have to blame people like Dean, Pelosi and Reid for their failures to uphold our democratic principles through a combination of actions and inactions.

I am an outside observer I am not black or white, but sorry to say Hillary and many of her supporters made this primaries into a black-white thing. And she does feel entitled to win because she is married to Bill Clinton. IF she really did have 35yrs of experience then why didn't she run last term? BEcause she ran on a false claim. I used to be a democrat but I am very ashamed of Hillary, Ferraro, Rendell and many of the old white ladies that called Barack "an inadequate black man!!!" THis is worse than what McCain has said. In fact it looks like Hillary is working with McCain to get him elected. The problem is not with what Pfleger said. He's one person entitled to his opinion, and he is not Obama.

The problem is with the reaction of Obama's long-time fellow churchgoers, who cheered at what many found offensive.

This is a gift to the Republican "Get Out the Vote" effort.

The GOTV will use this as a sound bite in the campaign, and it will get some people who tend republican but don't care for McCain up off the couch to vote against Obama.
