Ok, I listened to this. Romney so badly butchered his point. The point was that Obama has liberal ideals. Did he say that? No. He said he was stubborn and didn't think for himself, opting instead to follow the party. The spin was to take his liberalism and portray it as a lack of leadership and combine it with ignorance, arrogance, and partisanship.

This is a calculated attack by people who professionally twist words and meanings. They are half truths that add up to a distortion that might as well be a lie. George Orwell would be proud.

Romney is full of bologne. He like John McCain is part of the filthy rich Republican crowd that refers to anything good regular families as liberal. In truth, it is the Romneys who put themselves first and what's good for the country second! Regular families know all about the Republican Economy--$5 gas per gallon, trillions to Iraq, trillions owed to China, joblessness instead of jobs, health costs instead of health insurance, education for the rich only, mortgage mania for the rest. Romney--you were a mediocre governor and should go back into the used car business of the Ramblers your father tried to sell before he became "brainwashed".

Hey Angus, catch up please! Your sentiments are so 3 months ago. Obama has consistentently stated his plans numerous times. McCain is the one who hasnt. He can't remember them long enough. And by now anyone who cares knows plenty enough about Obama to decide whether he is the best choice for the next POTUS. If YOU don't know "jack" about him that's YOUR own bad. Get off CNN and do some real research. Then come back if you have something truthful to say.

"I ask Barack to borrow $30 to pay for gas, and he has yet to respond. That's rude considering $30 is not a lot of money."

but in order for you to save the $30, people will lose jobs, hiway and bridges do not get built or maintained. The oil companies can go up on the price so the savings is nill. the gas tax holiday is a GIMMICK!

The real point is that Obama has never stood up to the Democrtic special interest groups ( BIG LABOR, TRAIL LAWYERS, The something for nothing crowd) . McCain has faced the special interests in the Republican party and has the scares to prove it. But he is a person of conviction, courage and principals. Obama has always rolled over to Democratic special interest groups. He lacks courage!!!

Mitt the moron. So he wants offshore drilling and is upset that Barack doesn't? Here's what the G.O.P. doesn't understand. The voters this time are the youtube generation. We can *immediately* look up a fact and determine just how true or false it is.

In the case of offshore oil drilling, it's a complete scam to help big oil companies. Don't be fooled, people. Between 1999 and 2007, permits for drilling oil went up 361%, yet only 17% of the leases acquired to drill oil actually have anyone drilling on them. First, have you seen your oil bill or electric bill go down? Of course not. Second, why aren't the other 84% of oil areas being drilled? And why do they still want more offshore drilling areas?

Folks, big oil simply wants to hold onto these leases and drill for oil when it's even more expensive. They're holding onto it like a stock, waiting for it to ride to a higher price. Again, *84%* of the oil leases TODAY are not being drilled. Ask yourself why that is. McCain is looking to help his cronies and couldn't care less about reducing the price of gas. Even he recently admitted that it wouldn't reduce the price of gas anyway.

Mitt Romney is another rich republican robot who lacks the smarts to do anything but parrot party rhetoric. He's a haircut with no charisma, and no real ideas. Why do we even care about his thoughts on this subject? He LOST his own party's nomination.

Thank you Gov. Romney for acknowledging that keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists is indeed a "liberal issue." Republican administrations have been doing just the opposite for the past 30 years (arming Iran, Iraq, the Contras, the Taliban, and Saudi Arabia).

Who's tough on terror now?

I saw the interview and I was very disappointed that Roberts did not
follow this question up as it was an outlandish statement. Remember the primaries when Mitt was out everyday occusing McCain of sneaky underhanded tricks? Now that he wants to be VP, McCain walks on water. What does that tell you about this man's character?

Romney is an extremely unlikable fellow, which is why he didn't win the nomination. I just hope that McCain selects him to be VP. I was very offended by Romney attempting to use his personal fortune to buy the election and I suspect that many other Americans felt the same way. He reminds me of a slick car salesman and it's hard to even look at his face.

Interesting that the republicans would call the move to increase gas mileage for cars a "liberal view"

I guess consuming more gas than is needed and causing a short supply which raises the price and profits for a few like Romney is just what the republican party stands for.

We have seen what 8 years of republican leadership has brought the country in the form of $5/gallon gasoline and a stock market heading South. Will so called "liberal policies" do more damage then the conservative agenda of the past 8 years has already inflicted on America?

On being Liberal

I remember four years ago when the Republican Party called anyone and everyone who didn't follow G.W as being "liberal." Since that time, this once fine country has been trashed. Jobs being lost, jobs going over seas. Nothing done to secure the borders and ports. Over 4,100 killed in a sensless war where no one could possibly win and I can go on, and on, and on.

Now there is a "Conservative" that want's to win the White House bid. This "Conservative" has spent five years in a POW camp. That does not make him Presidential material.

I do not want a man, with such high family and moral values, that he thought so little of his wife and chose to flaunt his affairs in the public eye.

Nor do I want a man who, because of his despicable behavior and high moral values chose to divorce his crippled wife and marry the rich tart just one month after the divorce was finalized.

I am surprised just how many people think they can excuse this type of behavior but, unlike them, I will vote for the person that respects their spouse and family because that person would also respect their country.

McCain is not that type of person.

I'm not a mormon, but I really think it is offensive for people to criticize mormons by saying they are a cult or they are polygamists. The mormon church EXCOMMUNICATES polygamists!

Look, I think Mitt Romney is a moron with bad ideas who comes across as fake, but that doesn't mean we can't be respectful to people of other faiths.

He is soooo right. Fuel conservation and higher fuel economy standards are liberal crack-pot issues. So is nuclear proliferation, global warming, education, universal healthcare, and anything else that would actually benefit ordinary citizens. I guess the conservative agenda would include wasting fuel, encouraging a nuclear shoot-out, propping up the insurance, drug, oil, auto, tobacco and energy industries no matter what they do to us. How did Mitt ever lose in the primaries?

That's because the GOP has distorted the term "liberal" beyond all sense of the word. It no longer has meaning.
All republicans have left after a disastrous 7 years is to call anything they don't like or agree with "liberal."

Why have my comments remained "in Moderation" status for the last two months? First, Jack Cafferty reads two of my comments in one week and now you won't post any of them. What's going on?

Yo, Mittens! The market is down over 300 points! Il Duce has taken his party [along with the country] on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! It's going to take a lot of dedicated liberals to undo the damage your tax-cut and spend Clown Prince and "conservative" enablers have wreaked upon our country the past eight years...Face it, pal, the Greedy Old Party is about to be relegated to the Ashbin of History. Make sure to bring a fresh change of underwear...
