Well put "typical white person". The Bush admin was criticized for not talking unilaterally with N. Korea, but then they say Bush always tries to "go it alone" without going to the world community for help. That is exactly what Bush did in this instance. They insisted on the 6 way talks and it seems to be working, just like Libya worked and very soon Iraq will work. The hate, the name calling and the lack of facts on these posts is breath taking and it's all been started and been fanned by the Democrat leadership in congress. I don't think congressman Delahunt meant it the way it came out but there is such a frenzy of hatred out there that many would be overjoyed if the POTUS and members of his Admin were really tried in the World Court even though the UN and the US Congress approved the overthrough of Saddam overwhelmingly. CNN you need to use some judgement on whose posts you let on here,( even though mine don't get on ). Some, like Irene from michigan who posted "I hate Republicans" certainly don't move the conversation forward.

Actually, there is a huge issue hidden in this controversy: how should we treat the torturers among us and the policy people who paved the way for their actions? We have held the Germans and others to very high standards. Now we have our own torturers–as well as our own desk-torturers such as Addington and Yoo and Gonzalez. As citizens of a democracy, we have an obligation to hold these people accountable for the evil they have done. How are we to do this? Delahunt's comment was very clearly the wrong way to go. But what is the right way? And are we all doing our part to see that justice is carried out? Let's hope that the House finds it way on this issue.

What's not rendered explicit in this declaration is that because the Administration leave it exclusively to themselves to define what constitutes torture and other prohibited behavior -- and don't accept definitions of torture and prohibited actions such as those outlined in the Geneva Conventions of 1949 which the US ratified in 1955 -- we will never define any of our actions as torture. Alternatively, we''ll just say that detainees aren't POWs and we can do whatever we want with them.

Valerie Plaine was accidentally outted and is obviously quite fine. As a matter of fact, she's made A LOT OF MONEY because of it selling book deals to hatred hungry democrat publishers.

Addington isn't getting out of anything, he still reports full disclosure during closed door meetings. It is ridiculous to say such a thing about another American during a time of war. You won't see Republicans asking for Al Queda to kill Obama. At some point we need to look past party lines and see that we are all Americans united against a common enemy.

This is just an example of how much partisanship has taken over Congress. With 50 yr terms the group has become nothing but a pissing contest for the elderly. Demand term limits from your representatives!

Dems don't think Al Qaeda exists, but the truth is that Al Qaeda is a collective code term to include all radical islamic groups that spread hate and violence towards the west and those who do not believe in their religion. Not sure what the Democrats don't understand about that.

You cannot declare a war on radical Islam but you can declare war on Al Qaeda.

Meanwhile, Obama wants to sit and have tea with all these evil regime leaders. Hopefully he has learned that strong arming North Korea and forcing the talks with US might and pushing for sanctions has proven effective. You don't just show up for tea with the guy. The difference is that Bush (golly, I hate to defend this guy) waited to start lifting sanctions until AFTER NK started to disarm and is gradually lifting more as NK further shows its dedication to disarming. And Bush refused to negotiate one-on-one with NK and instead had 6 nation talks so that OTHER countries had to pony-up a political stake in disarming NK.

One-on-one talks with NK would not have done anything to move the process forward because NK would have accused us of bullying them and threatening to invade them and having secret plots to kill their leader...
