So when Obama likens himself to Kennedy, Dr. King, Lincoln, and even Moses he's being 'leader-like,' but when McCain dares evoke Kennedy he's being 'pretentious?'
Blind-sight is 0/0, hypocrites!

Nope, when McSame likens himself to Kennedy he's not pretentious - he's being a commedian!!

McCain is more devoted to big oil than to this country. He supports increasing the already insane profits of these companies by indicating that he is for opening up off-shore drilling.
If he truly wants America to have energy independence, then he would be taking steps to cut back on the tax credits given to American big oil companies unless they can prove that they are using their profits for research and development of alternative energy. Any oil company that cannot prove that they are working on alternative energy should face heavy fines. The tax credits should be based soley on the amount of dollars going into that R & D.

Do not be fooled by the appearance of unity. Obama and Clinton are not the party. We the people are and we do not like Obama. You can pour a bottle of perfume on a pig and he still smells like a pig.

No Bama in my Whitehouse.

Devotion to your country means exactly ~nothing~ if you are not intelligent enough to know what actions will help your country. What's more, it insinuates that he thinks his opponent is somehow less devoted, and makes him seem to me like an egotistical madman.
Being manly and patriotic worked in the 50's McCain, but it doesn't work now. People have wised up and have access to too much information online to fall for this so easily...

The rise of the Dragon (China) will devour the world and a new leader will arise from the West to defeat the Dragon.

These are the last days of the New Roman(America) Empire. Obama will usher in the new milenium.

Christians need to support Obama so that the prophecy will be fulfiled.

Mike, Syracuse, NY June 27th, 2008 10:30 am ET

Obama's 'service' to the country consisted of about 150 days in the Senate before he declared he was a candidate for President. We'll even let you Obamites count the weekends. Pretty pathetic that this guy got the Dem nomination.

Hey stupid, G. W. Bush, Chaney, Clinton, G.H.W. Bush, Reagen, Carter, and Ford all spend a total of ZERO days in the senate. Chaney wa never previously elected. Ford was appointed. What is your point stupid??!!

All of a sudden Obama is bad because he didn't serve in the military and McCain did. Funny, the Republicans didn't care much about service in Vietnam when they smeared John Kerry's war record when the candidate THEY supported was a draft dodger.

Did any body see the interrogation of those involved in torture from the bush/cheney/Rove administration? look it up and see that there is a lot of evidence to Impeach Mr. Cheney and Bush.
look also at the iraq report part 2 release june 2nd by the congress.

we do not need another bush/cheney/rove/libby,

mccain talks about 40 nuclear plants by 2030... were is he going to dispose of the byproduct or nuclear waste??, nevada mountains? just like Bush is doing?, or perhaps in mars, there is nothing going on there.... or is it?

I bet McCain has offered lots more to this country than he is ABLE TO TELL US. The PROBLEM IS THAT HE HAS A HARD TIME REMEMBERING most of what he has done which is indicative of his age.

Another reason McCain sems to travel to Iraq every other week is be REMINDED of the progress and to HOPEFULLY KEEP HIS SHORT TERM MEMORY SHARP on events there. It would be alarming if he HAPPENS TO FORGET WHO THE MAJOR PLAYERS ARE IN IRAQ (which happens to be his main strength). Say like if HE FORGOT WHO WAS ON WHAT SIDE BETWEEN THE SUNNIS AND SHIITES? My suggestion is to make sure he keeps Leiberman very close.

Pat Riot June 27th, 2008 11:15 am ET

It's a sad day when a POW's patriotism is questioned over politics.

Did you feel the same scorn when the swiftboat folks were attacking John Kerry? He wasn't a pow, but he did serve, and was mercilessly attacked.

He served, but that doesn't make him an untouchable icon personally or professionally. Obama and his wife are personally being smeared - sorry, if the mccain camp and the gop wants to dish it out, they better expect to get some in return. You're cynicism and bitterness definitely brand you a republican. I'm thankful for my optimism - you must be miserable.

At least McCain has a plan. That's more then I can say for Obama who talks and says nothing of substance on the issue except tax and spend, tax and spend.

And for those of you "obots" who don't understand the need for, or the concept of Energy Security, lets see how loud you cry when Obama's policies on energy drives it's costs through the roof and beyond your reach. Better start teaching yourselves how to make fire by rubbing two sticks together.

Don't you just love how much he likes to offer plans for the future (after he is out of office of course and most likely not around the earth). Anyone can make promises for years on down the road and of course they are only promises...not deliveries!

Does anyone realize McBush voted in the high 90% with Bush? He can say what ever but his policies mirrors Bush.... Does that scare his supporters as much as it scares me? America!!! We can not sustain another Republican in the White House.... These tactics will not work anymore.

"What no Obama attacks?"
Perhaps it's because the majority of McCain supporters would rather keep the election respectful and refrain from acting like children.

This is a serious issue ad. It addresses Senator McCain's position that we need to have a comprehensive (includes off-shore drilling & nuclear) energy plan. So, why all the abusive attacks here?

On other articles, bloggers call for information on the issues. When the issues are addressed, mud is thrown. Please address the issue and leave you diatribes at home.

Sorry, I don't vote for ANYONE who wants to stay in Iraq 100 years, "bomb bomb bomb Iran," or vote with GWB on 90% of the issues.

He claims he hates war. If that is true, he SURE doesn't show it. He wants to lower our dependence on oil. To me, offshore drilling will only increase our dependence on oil, and do little to lower prices. We need alternate energy sources that are better for the environment... which reminds me...

I believe he's only doing this "energy policy" just to separate himself from Bush. Same goes for the environmentalist BS. You can't ignore this statistic: HE VOTES WITH BUSH ON 90% OF THE ISSUES.

Vote on the issues, not the candidate.

As someone who lived through CARTER years, Obama will do it to our country far worse... Wake up American voters, your cars can't run on kool-aid. Obama is clueless and completely inexperienced.
John McCain should have been the Rep nominee in 2000, it was underhandedly stolen from him by GWB. He is a true hero, he will win this election on just one single fact alone, his record of NO EARMARKS. That is simply all that he has to drive home to the voters and we will be a better nation because of it.
Go Mac! Dem-Mc-Crats! PUMA! Clintons4McCain! NObama! Women for McCain! Just Say No Deal!

If Mccain becomes president we will be in Iraq forever and he will start another war. He wants to drill drill drill. He is the same as a third term Bush.

I will seriously leave the country if mccain is elected.

Obama is Dr. No. He does not have any specific solutions, just abstract ideas which do not add up. At least John is trying to address the problem. Obama is naive and an amature. He's a good speaker but falters under pressure (take he debates). He barely got the nomination and left many people alienated many democrats especially in FL and MI. I will vote McCain.

Isn't Senator McCain the one pushing for the Colombian trade deal?

Apparently, he's putting Colombia first and not the USA.

We're sick and tired of our jobs going to Mexico, China, and India. Now, McCain wants our jobs going to Colombia.

McCain target audience are the neo con. the 27% that still

supports Bush. Even then, some of the con will fall behind Obama

soon. You know the 27% approval rating is not Bush real approval

taking into consideration the marging of errors of about 4%, therefore

his real approval is more like 24%, and that is what's going to be

McCain's approval rating.

The repubs are going down hill this year.

Obama 08 & 12.

Jeb - Songbird McCain

You know, I had completely forgotten about that. He was the stumbling block when they went back to Vietnam to find out if there were any POW's left behind. (I believe that was in 1992) Thank you for reminding me, I now know where my vote is not going.

Korea and other nations, but we'll see how much he flip flops on this issue as he as done on almost everything else he stood for....Glad the Olympics are coming in August maybe McCain can make the gymnastics team with all the flips he can do

I am an Asian American democrat, now i know why there was the 'Reagan democrats' because our party betrays the very fundamental ideals of being a democrat such as what happened to Florida and Michigan. I am also a gulf war veteran. I am giving my vote to Sen. McCain because of his patriotism and his humility to serve our country. Too bad the elite of DNC decided to have arrogant Obama for their bearer. After all this said and done i will vote for Hillary 2012, that time my party will realized its grave mistakes. A landslide for McCain among Asian American votes come November.

Hey, the Lexington Project can do for America what the Manhattan Project did for Japan. Any energy policy that does not stress the consumption side first, renewable sources second, and oil and nuclear last is simply a bad idea. Long term solutions for long term problems. No band aid short term solutions and then forgetting the problem - that's what happened after the 1970s, which is exactly why we're in this mess now.

I can very easily see us drilling more and building a bunch of nuke plants and then as soon as the price of oil goes down to $60, we forget all about this until the next oil shock 10 or 20 years from now. Are we really that dumb? We were the last time.

As for patriotism - I get it. McCain is patriotic.... so is Obama and a couple hundred million other people. Now, why should I support McCain over my very patriotic cousin, Bob?

Wait a minute here, how is Mccain a war hero, as a POW he could not take the torture like his comrade's and caved in, that sound's like a sell out, he himself admited he wish he would have had the courage like his fellow American's and that his own father was disappointed in him, some need's to take a second look at this so-called great POW's action's while in captivity
