If you were truly interested in public financing, you would have pursued it consistently instead of flip flopping on the issue before deciding to go with it only AFTER Obama made his declaration.

You people who are judging McCain on the basis of his wavering political positions seem to be making a saint of Obama. You're in for a terrible disappointment if you think an electable politician will stay any direct course. They each generally move on a political course, and slightly alter that course in light of the polls. They have to be electable, and have an electable position before they can carry out a larger vision for the country. It's called politics. Don't imagine your hero Obama doesn't play this game masterfully. And his years as a politician aren't seasoned enough to be as scrutinized as McCain's. With McCain, we simply have a longer track record on which to judge him. Bottom line, they each have sufficient character and integrity to become president. Choose the direction you want for our country. Do you want a more conservative laissez-faire system of government (rely on the system more, less on the government) or do you want a more socialist one? Is a stable and free Iraq achievable and in our best interest as a nation or should we just get out? These and other major issues will decide the race, not flip flop count.
