Obama notes working class roots in new ad

Obama is out with a new ad Monday.

Obama is out with a new ad Monday.

(CNN) - Barack Obama’s campaign announced the release of its second general election television ad Monday, a 30-second spot designed to highlight his working-class roots and economic agenda as he ends his three-week economy tour but continues his efforts to woo that key Democratic constituency.

Watch: Obama courts working women

The campaign said ‘Dignity’ will air in 18 states, including perennial blue-collar battlegrounds like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and some traditionally Republican areas where the presumptive Democratic nominee is hoping to compete in this fall, like Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.

“He worked his way through college and Harvard Law,” says the announcer. “Turned down big money offers, and helped lift neighborhoods stung by job loss.”

The ad will begin airing Monday in Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia.

Earlier this month, the Obama campaign’s first ad of the general election highlighted his patriotism and values.

SCRIPT – “Dignity”

OBAMA: I’m Barack Obama, and I approve this message.

Announcer: He worked his way through college and Harvard Law.

Turned down big money offers, and helped lift neighborhoods stung by job loss. Fought for workers’ rights.

He passed a law to move people from welfare to work, slashed the rolls by eighty percent. Passed tax cuts for workers; health care for kids.

As president, he’ll end tax breaks for companies that export jobs, reward those that create jobs in America.

And never forget the dignity that comes from work.

I am so sick of the Obamas – both of them. Is anyone else running for President, CNN? You'd never know it from your tickers. I have an Obama Overdose. Is this going to go on until November? I don't think I can take it. Thank God, they'll both be back in Chicago after November and will no longer be in the news!

That is very good to let people know that you are one of them and you know how it feels to be one of them.

Children will learn from this man, and both parent will teach their children to look upto Obama's ability to combine job and school to be one who will be the next President Of the Unity State.

Maccain did not reject big money to work for the poor, Mccain didn't lack money in his early life. Maccain didn't fight to keep jobs in the hand of ordinary America.
Maccain has not idea how economic works.

Maccain do not want government to take care of Americans' health care crisis.
Maccain doesn't beleived government should do anything about the housing problem at first and second housing speeches.

The article about questioning Obama's patriotism badly mistates the quote by Michele Obama. She actually said "For the first time in my life, I am proud to be an American". It was only after she was roundly criticized that she amended the statement. The next day at another campaign stop that she added "really".
It should be obvious to all that Barak Obama and his wife are patriotic only when in is politically advantageous.

I HAVE NOTICED THAT ALL HIS COMMERCIALS ARE ABOUT HIM, NOT SOLUTIONS. I AM A DEMOCRAT, BUT PERSONALLY I AM SICK OF HIS "ALL ABOUT ME" COMMERCIALS. PLEASE TELL US HOW OBAMA IS GOING TO GET THESE THINGS DONE AS PRESIDENT. TELL US WHAT IS NEEDED TO GET THIS COUNTRY BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK. NO MORE ABOUT HIM.

"His heritage of being poor, of being an outsider, you know those two things are the commonalities that he has with us," he said. "We've always been treated like outsiders when it comes to government policy. In addition to that, we all grew up poor."

This is indeed a historic event, considering the fact that Obama is a uniter and not a divider, and always seek other people's welfare and their well being before his. What more can one expect from a leader? Obama is by no means or way an elitist as was suggested by those who knows what being an elite implies.

    God bless USA

    God bless Obama

With regards to his patriotism "Actions speak louder than words". By no puttng his hand over his heart during the National Anthym and not wearing a flag pin(because he did not want offend other countries) that is the reason his patriotism has been question. Bu not doing those two things he has offended his fellow Americans, who he wishes to elect him as President, and the vetereans, both dead and alive, who have sacrificed a portion of their lives so that he may have this opportunity to be the leader of the greatest nation in the world. He is running for President of the United States for goodness sake so act lilke an Amercian.

Some of us are giving up this "dialogue." How do you deal with people, particularly Obama supporters, who substitute slogans for reason. And why are they in love with capital letters. It merely indicates shouting or shrillness. GOOBAMA; OBAMA88. You people embody everything wrong with our culture. You coarsen it every day. PHILLISTINES!

This, along with his first ad, lays out how he's a common man(kind). Much like all of here on this blog.
His opponent grew up in the military and then married an heiress to a fortune that they can't possibly spend in their next two lifetimes.
It seems to me that Rove was really talking about his candidate, some 45-50 years ago.

Obama is a Harvard educated Constitutional Scholar. He did four years as an Illinois Senator and two years as US senator. Also he gave up a lucrative career to perform community service. He has written and co sponsered hundreds of bills. He also ran a brilliantly run campaign and managed to clinch the nomination as a relatively unknown by working very hard so Stop talking about his lack of so called experience. The ones with 'so called' experience got beat and made bad judgements to boot.

McCain was a married man, yet still managed to leave his wife for the younger richer model...if he can turn on his first wife and his country that fast what do you think he will do to you?

With regards to Gen. Clarke. If he thinks John McCain's military experience does not qualify him to be commander-in-chief then what the hell was Wesley Clarke relying on when he ran and got NO WHERE!!!!

ARE ONLY THE VETERANS AND TROOPS PATRIOTIC NOW? NO ONE CAN DENY THEIR PATRIOTISM....... HOWEVER, THOSE OF US WHO WORK, RAISE CHILDREN, TEACH CHILDREN..... WHO ARE OUR FUTURE ARE ALSO PATRIOTS!

THOSE WHO SERVE THE POOR, HOMELESS, THE SICK, DYING, ARE ALSO PATRIOTS!

THOSE WHO WORK FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR NATION IN POLITICS, SERVICE OF ANY KIND, THOSE WHO GIVE THEIR TIME AND VOLUNTEER AT SOUP KITCHENS ARE ALSO PATRIOTS!

WHEN WE QUESTION ONE ANTHER'S PATRIOTISM WE ARE ON A SLIPPERY SLOPE........... LET'S NEVER FORGET NAZI GERMANY AND THE COMMUNISTS WHO DEMANDED UNQUESTIONED LOYALTY!

ITS DISTURBING WHEN I SEE HOW SOME JUDGE AND CONDEMN OTHERS WHO DISAGREE WITH THEM.............. YET HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL THEMSELVES PATRIOTS AND CHRISTIANS!

OUR FUTURE PRESIDENT COMES FROM VERY HUMBLE

MEANS & HAS VOTED EVERY TIME FOR THOSE IN THE

SAME POSITION. WE AMERICANS WORK OUR TAIL OFF,

AS HE HAS. WE ALSO ARE THE TRUE OWNERS OF THE

US GOVERNMENT & THE TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS WE

PAY INTO GOVERNMENT COFFERS. WE WANT OUR MONEY

SPENT ON OUR PEOPLE & NATION, NOT WARS THAT ARE

USED TO LOOT US OF OUR WEALTH & LIVES.

I think Obama could have won this nomination even if he was green with purple polka dots. His personality shines like a much needed beacon for those of us who want things to get better in the USA. He stands head and shoulders, literally and figuratively, above all other candidates. I'm proud to be an American today.

Let me see. Obama graduates from harvard as president of the law review and came have any job he wants but chooses to be a a community worker.

McCain leaves injured wife for a 100 million beer heiress. But Obama is the elitist.

    As for Rezko.

Please research Rezko and Keating 5 and you tell me which one is worse.
