Rudy, why do your former employees @ the NYPD and NYFD hate you so much?

And does it have anything to do with your arms being too short to lend a significant hand during 9/11?

Oh yeah… and why do your kids despise you?

Justme WV   July 1st, 2008 4:45 pm ET

I would have thought this blog would be closed by now..since it isnt, guess I'll add my 2 cents:

Guilianni and company are IDIOTS and toooo irrevelavant!

Kevin from Boston   July 1st, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Guiliani is a bum and ran his failed supposed campaign on the backs of the 9/11 families. He is a complete failure and no doubt judging by his beady eyes a stoog for organized crime. Look at what happened to his #2 in NY Kerrick or whatever his name was. The dirt just han't been uncovered on Guiliani yet but it will be. If you listen to him you must have the IQ of a bag of hammers. Why is he even getting any news cycles.

OBAMA NATION – 08

O Boy   July 1st, 2008 4:36 pm ET

As a New Yorker and reading over some of these comments, its a shame people (Obama Supporters) have to use personal attacks on Mr. Guliani. Just cause you don't agree with who he supports…. Is there a problem with this??….. Why do all of you Obama supports always have to use personal attacks, instead of using this as a way to ask an intelligent question???? I understand that may be hard for some of you….
Why do you have to make everything a personal attack…. Is this because your own candidate can’t stand, let alone tred water, on his own record???? I’m sorry lack there of..

See that’s a attack on the candidates lack of experience…..not “you’re a scumbag” or “you and McCain are losers” G

Good ones….

NIk Green   July 1st, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Mr. Giuliani, here are some questions that people either seem not to want to ask you, or are simply not aware of:

On the morning of 9/11, you admitted on ABC News in an interview with Peter Jennings that the Twin Towers were "going to come down", in advance of the collapses. I have three questions for you:

(1) Why were the hundreds of first responders, including FDNY and NYPD members who were inside the buildings not informed of this? Hundreds of lives were lost as a result of this information not being shared

(2) Who told you that the buildings were going to fail, and how did this person or persons know?

(3) Why was the purpose-built ultra-hardened and secure emergency facility in WTC 7 abandoned that morning? This facility was designed to handle en event just like 9/11.

(4) Why were New Yorkers misinformed by the White House and the City of New York about the dangers posed by the extremely toxic asbestos, mercury and heavy metal laden dust that pervaded the atmosphere for months after the attacks?

Do you still think you are the most qualified GOP candidate to take on Clinton??

Ha! Ha! That was a LONG TIME AGO!

Times have changed. No Rudy/No Clinton!

Obama 08!

WoMeN4McCain   July 1st, 2008 4:15 pm ET

I have a question..

Mr. Giuliani:

Do you think that the Puma tards are crazy? Because I do.

Peter E   July 1st, 2008 4:14 pm ET

No, he wasn't the best mayor of NYC, and he may have made some mistakes handling 9/11. But under him the city's crime rate dropped to one third of its previous (democrat mayor) levels! Pollution and trash levels dropped precipitously. The quality of life skyrocketed. That couldn't be said for his tax-and-waste democratic predecessors!

We have many more issues to deal with, the entire country is be terrorized as we speak, energy costs, employment, the auto industries are shutting down, the raiding of the housing industry. Scare America with the terrorist hit possibilites, the midwest is under water. Who made Rudy an expert, America pumped him up to much, seems as if the GOP is wishing for an attack. No presidential candidate has experience with global issues, Bush , Cheney didn't , if so it did't matter much according to the state of matters today.

Jim - Tucson   July 1st, 2008 4:11 pm ET

On the date of 11/3/2001 why were you at a baseball game in Arizona when the police and firefighters in your city were scuffling at the World Trade Center site? Why was it so important that you attend all the World Series games in AZ while your city was still reeling from 9/11?

Peter E   July 1st, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I support everything Obama says and I think he'll be the greatest president in history. OBAMA '08!!!
There. Is that what the liberal CNN filter wants to hear?

@Thomas, Illinois:

Good question about how building 7 collapsed. Perhaps some of civil engineers or physicists in Hollywood could propose a plausible explanation?

Actually, you and I know why this happened without any movie stars telling us: it was a government conspiracy (shhhhh!) to drum up a reason to attack Iraq. We found some suicidal people to fly the planes into the buildings and paid Osama Bin Laden to take credit on video after the fact. But don't tell anybody! Especially the guys in white suits with the big butterfly nets! LOL!

_____________

On December 24, 2001, Time magazine named Giuliani its Person of the Year for 2001. Time observed that, prior to 9/11, the public image of Giuliani had been that of a rigid, self-righteous, ambitious politician. After 9/11, and perhaps owing also to his bout with prostate cancer, his public image had been reformed to that of a man who could be counted on to unite a city in the midst of its greatest crisis. Thus historian Vincent J. Cannato concluded in September 2006, "With time, Giuliani's legacy will be based on more than just 9/11. He left a city immeasurably better off — safer, more prosperous, more confident — than the one he had inherited eight years earlier, even with the smoldering ruins of the World Trade Center at its heart. Debates about his accomplishments will continue, but the significance of his mayoralty is hard to deny

MARLA   July 1st, 2008 3:54 pm ET

Here is my opinion on another terrorist threat. This does not help McCain at all. Should another terrorist attack take place before we get a new president, something tells me the republicans are not doing a very good job of protecting the American people. John McCain better hope we don't have another terrorist attack. Who's protecting us? Little John's military record is not going to help us one bit. This is not Vietnam. I don't give a rat's booty about any candidate's military record. I am not casting my vote based on that. I want back the great country Ameirca was. Where you worked your butt off and had something to show for it. When congress was working for ME. All they do in Washington now is just cater to their own interests.

Let's elect a new congress and make America better!!

And after seeing people leap to their deaths 100 stories to the pavement below, what exactly do you think it will it take to convince these naive fools that there just might be some truth to this whole "terrorism thing?"

Lastly, of those who did leap to their deaths on 9/11 rather than burn in an inferno, how many of THEM do you think would need to be convinced that terrorism is real?

Looks like some of the Dimocrats on this site think old Rudy could have prevented the 9/11 attacks on NYC. Well, first the planes took off from Boston. Second, Rudy's "jurisdiction" only exended to governing the city of NY, not to protecting against terrorism, acts of war, etc. I supposed you could make a case that he could have stood up real tall and swatted the planes down once they approached NYC, but then again, this is real life, isn't it?

Just FYI…

POST THIS FOR ONCE   July 1st, 2008 3:43 pm ET

I notice my opinions never get posted… is this because they actual have some merit and point out the obvious.

CNN, you are so close to becoming FoxPlus. Looks like the BBC (who are starting to look like CNN circa 2000) are on that slippery slope too. Give it a few years and they will probably be like CNN as well. The only REAL news sources out there are found on formats like NPR etc. That's where I get my real news and pulse on all things to a high degree of integrity, balance and FACT.

The CNN's and BBC's are where I go to get a pulse on the stupidity and arrogance of the American population and "try" with little success, to get anything posted… more for my therapy and needing to vent on this idiot American population… but also with the hope that "MAYBE" someone might read one of my opinions and either read an article… learn a truth… or think for a second. I know, a second is a lot to ask of the lazy ignorant tools that live in this country.

Barack Obama is disingenous. He is setting himself up as a religious presidential candidate (ie: george w bush) and is going after the evangelical christians. He even has the person who wrote a faith based book on president Bush writing a book on him. This seems very phony and staged. Another example of his plagerizing spirit.

Why are the Republicans stirring up fears by bringing up another terrorist attack(as if the threat just started being more credible)?

I think CNN should put a "9/11 or September 11th" counter to count how many times Rudy will say those two phrases during the interview.

Lisa   July 1st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

98% of the American people are not happy with the two candidates running for the Presidency.

Glenn   July 1st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Who gives a flip about what Rudy thinks? Although he has a lot in common with McCain,. Both Rudy and McCain had affairs with their their current wives while still married to their first wives. The GOP which touts itself as the family values and Christian party has two men who commited adultry. Hardly the Christian satnce we want our children to emmulate.

sherry   July 1st, 2008 2:49 pm ET

THERE TWO PEAS IN A POD THEY BOTH CHEATED ON THEIR WIVES

WHAT ……I DONT HEAR YOU SELF RIGHTOUS RELIGOUS RIGHT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.

I GUESS IF YOUR A REPUBLICAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHEAT, NOT SO IF YOUR A DEMOCRAT.

RanDe   July 1st, 2008 2:43 pm ET

If george bush and dick channey were given immunity and divulged that the real reason for invading iraq was part of a larger plan to secure american access to middle eastern oil, would you support a continued presence in iraq.

jaguilar,md   July 1st, 2008 2:42 pm ET

TIME TO GO! TAKE MCFOSSIL WITH YOU

white 49 yr old woman for Obama   July 1st, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Yes! My question is what was he thinking when he did not campaign as he should have prior to Florida? I have always respected and admired Mr. Julian as someone who was very smart, intelligent and can be a winner. What happened? what was his strategy? I really want to know!

jaguilar,md   July 1st, 2008 2:41 pm ET

TIME TO GO, WE NEED CHANGE !

Chris, from WI   July 1st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Yes. Why are you and the GOP so afraid of Barack Obama?

sarah   July 1st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

why would anyone care what a little peon former mayor has to say?

PG   July 1st, 2008 2:38 pm ET

NO! Not worth my time!

Louis   July 1st, 2008 2:37 pm ET

When are you going to reimburse New York City taxpayers the 200K+ in extra security costs incurred while you were cheating on your wife with Judith Nathan? So much for America's mayor…and this is the man many Republicans supported for our next President–the party of family values.

Charlie   July 1st, 2008 2:37 pm ET

How does it feel to constantly exploit 9/11 for political gain?

judy, Wisconsin   July 1st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Now there's a pair–R.G and Lie-berman. I just lost my lunch.

A Proud American   July 1st, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Mr. Giuliani, you are a respectable American. It's too bad we have jerks who act as these people do.

Jewel - NC   July 1st, 2008 2:31 pm ET

When are you going to go away?

LYNETTE IN CA   July 1st, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Wolfe – I think you're going to have to come up with your own questions for this interview! Doesn't look like people have much to ask Rudy.

HOPE IS COMING   July 1st, 2008 2:29 pm ET

What did you do during 911 that any other Major wouldn't have done?

RC   July 1st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Must be election time. Just sheeeeesh. Doggie on a leash.

Mark   July 1st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

What makes Rudy Giuliani so great? 911 happened on his watch. What a scum bag! Now he thinks he is an expert on terrorism, give me a break! If he were prez, well can anyone say "Armageddon."

Bob   July 1st, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Yes why don't you go back to NYC and get the twin tower project up and running.

Bob Indianapolis, IN   July 1st, 2008 2:25 pm ET

How does he feel about all the money he made off 9/11 as a personal cottage industry and howz about his lieutenant, the corrupt Bernie Kerik???

Oh yeah, and how many more firemen would have lived during 9/11 if Rudy-Toot-Toot had bothered upgrading the NYC communications for first responders? ASK HIM THAT!

ANGIE   July 1st, 2008 2:24 pm ET

how do you feel about bush and all of the lies he told us????

dave   July 1st, 2008 2:23 pm ET

NO

DJ, LA, CA   July 1st, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Tell us about the role of Bernie Kerik when he was mayor and how he feels about Kerik's indictment for corrpution.

Emma, San Jose, CA   July 1st, 2008 2:21 pm ET

Not of interest to me.

Mark   July 1st, 2008 2:21 pm ET

Rudy Giuliani and McCain have no earthly idea on how Americans are affected by GOP leadership or lack thereof. Just look at their stupid policies. They make no sense! Every time these idiots get into office, we are at a deficit. WAKE UP AMERICA! Just because they are STUCK ON STUPID does not mean we have to be. In my opinion, most of the GOP party are a bunch of shallow minded war mongers who have no idea how to run a country. They believe war is the answer to everything! They have proven that time and time again. Bush is just the only idiot bold enough to aggressively push their ridiculous, idiotic agenda.

Willis Portland OR   July 1st, 2008 2:21 pm ET

I think that we should get a petition started to rename sept 11 Rudy Giuliani day. Any one with me?

Pat Long Island   July 1st, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Rudy…how do you sleep at night knowing your negligence as mayor resulted in the escalated number of deaths on 9-11? You knew WTC would be targetted again, yet you put the Office of Emergency Management in it after 1993? You knew there was a radio communication problem between NYPD and FDNY yet you didn't do anything about it? Because of this, you are responsible for many of the deaths that happened on 9-11. You were too busy closing down all the nightclubs and selling Time Square to Disney.

Rudy…a disgusting pathetic excuse for a human being!

Peter of Oregon   July 1st, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Is Mayor Giuliani relevant? Are his opinions relevant? Didn't he run a 1 state campaign (Florida)?

Loretta from California   July 1st, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Not really! I can't think of a thing that I could possibly want to know from this John McCain surrogate.

DEMOCRATS UNITE!!!

Hammerhead   July 1st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Here's a question: Why does the FDNY hate you?

Susan   July 1st, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Why are you supporting McCain instead of Obama?

Obama/Hillary 08

Nikki   July 1st, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Do you feel you overused 9/11 in speeches and interviews? Was that meant to be your main platform?

Scott, Charlotte   July 1st, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Nope. Not a one.

Phil in KC   July 1st, 2008 2:11 pm ET

Because he's a loyal Republican? Because he wants a future in his party? Because he's looking at 2012? Just a guess on my part….

Sherman B   July 1st, 2008 2:10 pm ET

I'm wondering if Rudy G can go a WHOLE INTERVIEW without saying or citing 9/11

Joseph L   July 1st, 2008 2:10 pm ET

Bunch of NOBAMA FANS.Go Rudy get the gop going again.Look at the records of any of the gop vs the democraps.Obama will be the best used car salesman ever.Tell ya whatcha ya wanna hear.Is that good enough democrap language for you.I cant wait for the election and all the real republicans come out to vote.We dont cry all day on the tv.We are silent just like in 04 53,000,000 of us showed up.The only change washington is going to see is all the democraps in the house and senate.Over 2 years and the bills have went up spending is up earmarks are up gas is up.We will not drill in our country but its all bush fault because of war.Blame it on bush.

Cyrus - NY   July 1st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

How much money have you made profiteering from the tragedies of 9/11?

Do you have any dignity? Self-respect? Have you ever listend to the rubbish that comes out of your mouth?

From a hyprocrisy scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate yourself?

Jeremy in Boston   July 1st, 2008 2:03 pm ET

I have (9/11) a challenge for (9/11) Giuliani.

How many times (9/11) can you mention 9/11 in one interview(9/11)?

9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11……….etc etc.

JoeMamma   July 1st, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Dear Rudy,
As a federal prosecutor, you must have seen some horrific crimes.
I'm sure you had to build your case using forensic evidence a time or two.
Why then, did you order all of the WTC debris removed without allowing anyone to investigate it? Surely we could have learned a thing or two about building a better building. Why would you do that, sir?

Thanks for playing Larry Silverstien's fiddle.

BR   July 1st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Such positive comments from the enlightened supporters of Barack Hussein Obama. We could only be so lucky to have your candidate win.

Frantz (Atlanta)   July 1st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Can he move to Iraq?

Dennis   July 1st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Do you think that the news media is bias?

McCrazy   July 1st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

How did you try to run on foreign policy experience? Because you were in charge when terrorists attack your city, this is your experience?

ED FL   July 1st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Seema like Rudi is looking for another wife ,girlfriend or male friend whose shoulder he can cry on. YOU ONCE WERE ADMIRED AS A GOOD SMART POLITICIAN BUT AS IN ALL ASPECTS OF YOU LIF YOU SCREWED IT UP AND NOW HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.

McCrazy   July 1st, 2008 1:48 pm ET

I have one:

Mr. Giuliani, how can you take credit for NYC's recovery from 9/11? You were on your way out and after November of 2001, you weren't even the mayor anymore. If anyone should run on the NYC recovery post 9/11, it would be Mayor Bloomberg.

Michael Lorton, Virginia   July 1st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

The question I have for Rudy Giuliani is that "I have no question" for him.

Joe   July 1st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Why does the media give Rudy the time of day? He's a bitter man who takes credit for other people's hard work. Just because you were the mayor of New York during the 9/11 attacks doesn't mean you are qualified to prevent them in the future. Go away.

Andy   July 1st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Why do New Yorkers hate you so much?

Jim   July 1st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Does he feel the country is headed in the right direction?

Aaron   July 1st, 2008 1:46 pm ET

With limited resources we will have to prioritize different issues. Please rank these subjects in order of importance for a new president to handle: terrorism, education, economy, health care, energy and the environment. Do you think your proposed order is the same as the American people?

Franky   July 1st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

Hey Rudy, wwhat's the difference between you and I??? You're an idiot!!! LOL!!!

Hey Rudy, what's the difference between you and the Reps??? You're an idiot!! LOL!!!

Hey Rudy, what's the difference between you and the people??? You're an idiot!! LOL!!!

Ohhh man, I could make fun of this guy ALL DAY LONG…

Nova from NV   July 1st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

For all those people who wrote hateful message for Giuliani, they should be thanking him for the job he has done in the wake of 911. These people are unamerican for attacking a good American citizen who has done nothing but good public service.

Ugo   July 1st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Nope! Not a single question. He is irrelevant!

strong   July 1st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

I have no question for this scumbag, other than to tell him to beat it ! And never return.

ProundToBeDemocrat   July 1st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

By the way Gulliani is an Idiot is't he the Guy who put all his eggs in Florida and got blown away.

Michele Hussein, Oregon   July 1st, 2008 1:41 pm ET

How, as a Catholic, can he support a party that historically has not taken care of the poor, the environment, used all means necessary to proctor the peace, and supported the success of big business over the common man? How as a citizen does he support the notion of the common good in relation to the above?

Why don't labor unions support the republican candidates?

HG   July 1st, 2008 1:41 pm ET

What is the feeling like to spend that much money and only win 1 delagate. Must feel real good!!!!!!!!!

Saad from NJ   July 1st, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Nothing personal but if I was McCain, I would NOT want this endorsement.

ProundToBeDemocrat   July 1st, 2008 1:40 pm ET

Wolf do not be an idiot Guliani is not going to support Obama regardless how good a leader obama is. The politics in America does not work that way, the way it works is you support the guy in your party in his case Gulliani is going to support Mccain regardless how lousy Mccain is. This is the politics we are acustomed to we believe in party instead of our Nation United states of America.

Gary Chandler in Canada   July 1st, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Is it true, after seeing the lay of the land in 2008, you made a strategic decision to 'save' campaign efforts for 2012?
Or was your late entry into the primary just stupid?
(I guess my question is if he is a genius or dumbo?)

yen   July 1st, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Juliani like McCain want to win election by scaring the American people that they(the republicans) are better at protecting the American people from terrorist attacks. And the American people are fed up of their scare tactics. It doesn't work any more.

Michele, Oregon   July 1st, 2008 1:39 pm ET

How, as a Catholic, can he support a party that historically has not taken care of the poor, the environment, used all means necessary to proctor the peace, and supported the success of big business over the common man? How does it feel to run on 911? While MCcain run's on being a prisoner of war. I think you two need to honor your wedding vow's.

BHO Not my candidate   July 1st, 2008 1:33 pm ET

If asked to be Mccain's VP, would you expose the Scum in Washington regardless of party affiliation just like you exposed the Mafia as a New York City Prosecuter.

lisa   July 1st, 2008 1:33 pm ET

====what have you done for your country lately ???

Kelby from Houston, TX   July 1st, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Yeah, I have questionx.
Do you think that the polticization of 9/11cost you the election?
After all the terrible things that have occured with the Bush administration, are you still glad that he is president?
Has using 9/11 in order to promote yourself in the politcal arena left a gaping hole where your soul used to be?
Does that hole hurt?

Veteran in Kansas   July 1st, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Bob Morrell Dresher PA   July 1st, 2008 1:32 pm ET

I wonder if Giuliani has any regrets or an apology for running his campaign on 9/11 victims.

kim hussein taylor portland, oregon   July 1st, 2008 1:25 pm ET

Why does he think Sen. McCain will be a better president than Sen. Obama?

ummm, giuliani's already shown us the answer to that one, b/c he's a dishonest businessman who puts money over people—-just ask all the first responders who couldnt communicate with each other on 9/11 THANKS TO RUDY GIULIANI!!!!!!! america's mayor, my @$$, we dont want him!!!

Raghu   July 1st, 2008 1:24 pm ET

I have a q to CNN. Why do you think that we have any questions for Giuliani? Othere than why did you think the "Its up to you, Florida" campaign will work.

Dr.Mimi De La Cruz   July 1st, 2008 1:23 pm ET

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE SUCH A SCUM BAG?

T GUY   July 1st, 2008 1:22 pm ET

ANOTHER LOOOOOSER……….

What is the best thing?
