The fist bump has been done just about everywhere by just about everyone. Its clear that Senator Obama loves his wife and little fist bump every now and then to show support is geat! Husbands and wives try a combination of a peck on the cheek or lips and a fist bump its fun!

You can be sure McCain, who has called his wife the c word, is willing to give Cindy a fist bump, but not the kind the mainstream media is willing to report on, just like it ignores all the other scary McCain stuff, from the Keating Five on down. Experience you can count on? Yup, if you want to watch the country go down in flames.

The fist bump, pound, dap or whatever is not what bothers me about Obama. What I care about is his inexperience and arrogance and the media's focus on him and making him the next President. This story just shows that focus. I mean really—where was the meat in the fist bump story in the first place. Now, that original story is replaced with a more positive one. Who cares? The media needs to dig up everything about Obama's past. Give us a chronology of his political past; tell us about how he managed to disqualify his opponents because he challenged their petitions—or tell us if this story is not true. I don't care where he went to school or if he grew up in a Muslim household; but if you want to put all those rumors to rest, tell us the full story: what school did he attend, what, if any, religion was practiced in his home when he was a child? I don't care about these answers either but the media has a responsibility to vet the candidate and that means telling the story of his childhood, young adult life, political past and leaving no doubt that it is the true story. I would think Obama and all his fans would like the media to do that also. I will not take his word for anything; the one thing we all know for sure is that he is willing to denounce anyone and anything to advance himself and his political future. After all, his white grandmother who, no doubt, paid his tuition in private school (when he returned to this country) was (according to Obama) just a typical white person.

Okay, I'm a fan of Obama but this is just plain stupid. The "fist bump" is not new. It has been around forever. The fact that Obama does it may prove that he's not a stuffy suite who sits in a tower leaning over his people, but it is not worthy of multiple ticker stories.

It breaks my heart to see this broiling controversy shut down so soon. What will we read about for the next 24 hours? Any news about what the Senator is wearing on his lapel today? Is his dad still from Kenya? Maybe Michelle wore a white dress, because we ALL know what THAT would mean.

Or maybe we'll just have to read about the thoughtful and efficacious policy that Senator Obama has proposed to combat the watered down, republican agenda Mr. McCain's been touting.

The fist bump or a Terrorist fist jab? LOL…. glad that got that lady fired. Unlike the Japenese monkey, I think that was totally intentional. I think the Japanese should be cut some slack though. It's not the first time that they have misunderstood American culture. Check out Snoopes.com for Santa Cross. Apparently, Japenese stores were selling a smiling Santa Claus nailed to a cross during Christmas time. Of course, America is not immune to these cultural faux paus. An American company recently lost a 68 million dollar contract because of a gross cultural misunderstanding. Remember the AT&T commercial where the American business man calls the Japenese VIP a fish? lol…..these things really happen.

I love my CNN, 24 hour news, and internet but this shows the type of irresponsible journalism this type of media tends to bring. While it does indeed serve a wonderful (and addicting) purpose, some issues get widely circulated and criticized before enough investigative journalism happens that either confirms or denies the report.

I am really disappointed in the way news is being reported lately on this blog. This is ridiculous. Americans are paying almost $5.00 a gallon for gas, foreclosures of homes are at an all time high, the economy is tanking as we speak and you guys are reporting on a non-issue fist bump story. My goodness, wouldn't it be refreshing to read real news worthy stories about the presidential candidates on this blog.

The fist bump was a childish gesture in the first place. The Obamas need to grow up.

This is just funny. I love Obama and it seems the media is enthralled with everything Obama, positive or negative. I guess it's better than not that they find Obama so fascinating,t hese are non-issues for anyone else.

Absurd reporting. Let's compare the candidates' platforms. Why does Barack continue to run from a debate with McCain? I know its not as exciting or irrational as a rally, but he could at least humor us with a debate.

You people leave Obama alone. You are making him change every time you complain about him. How is he supposed to win an election when you are forcing him to change. He cannot be everything to everyone at the same time!!!!!

Ok, I have to say this: How on earth did so many papers/journalists NOT hear that the first time? Did they have a predetermined agenda when they woke up?

This is in fairness to both McCain and Obama camps: If an error so easy as this is made (honestly, how could it possibly get twisted into "He won't fist bump with a child"?) then I am truely skeptical of how professional these journalists are (in all media, becuase it was reported by more then just CNN).

Journalists, you really need to check on your professionalism when reporting to the public, you should be ashamed of yourselves for letting this one get by.

I like the fistbump. I think it shows a casual Obama and brings him down to a level where average Americans can relate. I think in a way, it's humbling.
