Fist bump not gone?

Barack Obama and wife Michelle bump fists on June 3.
Barack Obama and wife Michelle bump fists on June 3.

(CNN) - Rest assured America, perhaps Barack Obama has not abandoned his signature fist bump.

It appears Tuesday's pool report - widely reported by several media outlets, including CNN - that Obama refused to bump fists with a child in Ohio was incorrect.

A review of the tape shows the child was instead asking Obama to sign his hand, but the presumptive Democratic nominee declined.

Watch: Obama doesn't decline bumping fists

"Mom might not be happy when she comes home," Obama said. "She'll be like, 'What is the dirt on your hand?'

Great reporting CNN, first you get over 1,000 replies talking about how rude he was to the little boy are and now you are trying to fix it. Oh wait, he was thinking as a resonsible adult, not a rude person as you perseved him in your previous article. Oh brother, keep it up, good reporting....NOT!

I HATE how the media jumps all over everything b4 doing research.

Happened when my school lost 12 students in a tragic accident – it was all about getting a "story"

Incredible. The new fad of bumping fists. I have a hunch that they will stop bumping fists and start bumping their heads together when it comes out how much she despises the white man!

There you go again CNN. You have reported another situation that was not true about our next President of the United States! I am glad though that you have printed a retraction. Don't let your reporters get away with any untruths about Barack Obama.

Please, is this news? I support Obama, but please, first it was "what does Obama have on his ipod", now it's the fist bump.

Just for the record people, the political use of the fist bump is: You fist bump with people you know and are cool with and shake hands with people you don't know.

OK first of all it's called a pound, not a "fist bump." Second, I guarentee you, there is not a person in this country under the age of 25 that has never done this, so it's not his "signature move," and no, ED Hill, it's not a "terrorist fist bump" either. It's like seeing two politicians high five each other and saying, "Oh my God what sort of gang sign was that?!?" Millions of Americans do this every day, hence, this is not news....

that is a great example of how useless our media has become. everyone immediately runs a NON-story, then someone does that pesky little thing known as FACT CHECKING, and they're proven wrong.

problem is, it's very damaging, b/c there are so many stupid americans out there who already think obama is a muslim terrorist, and now the terrorist fist jab story is planted in their feeble brains once again! the mainstream media has become the brain for too many americans who just blindly believe whatever their told by someone in a suit, like all those hate-monger fools at FOX!

Should we start worrying about the legitimacy of news reported by CNN? It seems like in this political season, we will be inundated with "nonsense" news versus a candid discussion and dissemination of the real issues plaguing every american.

    Obama for President!

This is a poor way of providing your readers content to blog about. Misleading and not at all accurate.

And for those that took the time to leave a negative comment over this non issue, reflect on where your honor and hearts lye.

It’s a sad day for the American people and the ideal of representative democracy when all we are fed from a non-bias “free press” is soviet style puff pieces, and pop culture politics. I’m sure this is all part of a well-orchestrated plan by idealistic PR professionals to “use” their friends in the media to advance a common adjective and plays well to the young and ill informed. I for one have not seen one iota of evidence that Barack Obama is any different then George Bush and in fact when you get him away from his rehearsed speeches is even less articulate. Please bring back investigative reporting and weed out these political hack stories!

Good work CNN in trying to portray Obama as a common person. The fist bump has been around for decades. Wow this is news. I suppose just another way for him to get some face time.

This quest to publish anything on the candidates regardless of relevance has led CNN into the realm of tabloid journalism. Just stop it.

Cindy "STEPFORD WIFE" McCain think she is entitled to the position of First Ladey, just as her "old man" believes he is entitled to the presidency because he was a POW.

McCain is a war hero, served the country with honor, BUT that in no way makes him qualified to be president.

Obama is certainly NOT my choice, I would have rather had Hillary considering they are the only two we had a chance of getting, but I'm willing to give him a chance, as long as he can keep his "mouthy wife" under control.
