(CNN) - Rest assured America, perhaps Barack Obama has not abandoned his signature fist bump.
It appears Tuesday's pool report - widely reported by several media outlets, including CNN - that Obama refused to bump fists with a child in Ohio was incorrect.
A review of the tape shows the child was instead asking Obama to sign his hand, but the presumptive Democratic nominee declined.

"Mom might not be happy when she comes home," Obama said. "She'll be like, 'What is the dirt on your hand?'

Please, is this news? I support Obama, but please, first it was "what does Obama have on his ipod", now it's the fist bump.
Just for the record people, the political use of the fist bump is: You fist bump with people you know and are cool with and shake hands with people you don't know.
OK first of all it's called a pound, not a "fist bump." Second, I guarentee you, there is not a person in this country under the age of 25 that has never done this, so it's not his "signature move," and no, ED Hill, it's not a "terrorist fist bump" either. It's like seeing two politicians high five each other and saying, "Oh my God what sort of gang sign was that?!?" Millions of Americans do this every day, hence, this is not news....

that is a great example of how useless our media has become. everyone immediately runs a NON-story, then someone does that pesky little thing known as FACT CHECKING, and they're proven wrong.

It’s a sad day for the American people and the ideal of representative democracy when all we are fed from a non-bias “free press” is soviet style puff pieces, and pop culture politics. I’m sure this is all part of a well-orchestrated plan by idealistic PR professionals to “use” their friends in the media to advance a common adjective and plays well to the young and ill informed. I for one have not seen one iota of evidence that Barack Obama is any different then George Bush and in fact when you get him away from his rehearsed speeches is even less articulate. Please bring back investigative reporting and weed out these political hack stories!
Good work CNN in trying to portray Obama as a common person. The fist bump has been around for decades. Wow this is news. I suppose just another way for him to get some face time.
