Obama over fist bumping?

Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.
Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.

(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?

According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.

As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."

His voice then trailed off.

The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Watch: The famous fist bump

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

Who cares. This is another lame republican attempt to distract from the real issues. If he has to avoid the 'terrorist fist jab', it's because YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID and won't pay attention to stuff that matters. Enjoy your political theater, fools.

Anything to put his mug in the news, sorry CNN your allegiance is showing and your objectivity is nonexistent. You call this news worthy?
Your constant posting of blogs that use foul and insulting language focused at McCain is also a blatant sign of your support for Hussein Obama.

Shameful that this is or was ever news.

They really have run out of things to go after Barack on. And some say he hasn't been vetted. Ha!

I'll just sit back and wait for the landslide. Sorry McSAME. Not this time.

He should keep it up. It helps keep him distinguished from the Clintons, the McCains, and the rest of the cardboard-cutout candidates.

And how does refusing to do it once imply that he is ditching it completely?

Who cares if he does do a fist bump? Seriously are we that worried about that?

I mean we elect a guy for eight years who can barely speak or act presidential on a daily basis, but we are more concerned about a fist bump. Some people need to get a life....

  10. TEXAS FOR OBAMA

Barack Obama likes to have fun, exercise, enjoy his family, laugh, enjoy life and be normal.. The fist bump is fun. Gary is right, Howie Mandel has done that since Deal or No Deal has been on.
Barack is concerned about the future, gas prices, jobs, housing and bringing our wonderful miltary home.

The other candidate only has the past. That why he is still living there. He has no future.

Howid does it because he has a phobia against germs. What's Obama's excuse? I remember when black fists meant something completely different.

Why are there stories like this on Obama and not McCain?

I'd like to "get to know" McCain a little better – mostly because he just sounds like a dumb, angry old man that thinks he deserves everything because he was a POW. Surely there's more to him??

Simplest way to get over this issue, if it is one, is for him to do the fist bump again. Maybe with Hillary.

and by the way "signature fist bump" is stupider (I know that's not a word but this article is worthy) the fist bump is about two minutes from going the way of the high-five because it's about as lame as barbed-wire armband tattoos
