(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?
According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.
As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."
His voice then trailed off.
The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

Obviously, the bump did not deliver the bump in polls that he wanted. Hence, its early demise. It joins the heap of Obama discards such as Rev. Wright, views on NAFTA, hand gun bans, social security, welfare reform, meetings with leaders of rogue nations, initial thoughts on Bill Clinton. I've heard of politicians evolving to the center, the right or the left over the course of a career. Obama has perfected the instant evolution process, achieving remarkable metamorphoses in days. If he had started as a centrist and stuck with it, he would have my vote,hands down. The pandering to polls on just about everything should rule this guy out in November.
We never asked for the real Republicans to stand up as we already know who and what the real McBush stands for "More War 100 years more of it " a war monger no negotiations for Mc Bush actually just the third coming of another George Bush and the Bush record speaks for itself loud and clear OMG and they want more Bush after all this ?

Well I, for one, will vote for someone with a consistent opinion on fist bumping: Hillary. She ran the smartest campaign I've ever seen and had the election STOLEN from her by the fist-bumping Obama! So now I'll vote McCain instead.
Nevermind that on all the important issues that I should care about, he is the polar opposite. Nevermind that Obama and Hillary ran on nearly identical platforms. I'm voting for McCain because I'm angry for no discernable reason and I lack the capability of rational thought.

the fact that this is even news explains exactly why obama has to be mindful of such stupid things as whether a fist bump is acceptable. who gives a crap. fistbump is the new handshake. get over it.

It's pathetic that so many people get "offended" by these non-issues, and it disturbs me further that Obama is giving into these idiots. I'm sorry but since when was the presidential seal a sacred symbol? And how is him putting his name on it offensive in any shape way or form? If you get offended by that you need to lighten up and get a life, seriously.
The fist bump really annoys me. It's not that he does it, but that people on some networks have called it a "terrorist" fist bump, and that anyone even cares that he's doing it. Once again, if Obama giving a fist bump offends you in any way, shape, or form, please...get a life. Wesley Clark says he respects McCain's military service, but that just because he was in Vietnam doesn't mean he has executive decision making abilities, and somehow that's an attack on his Vietnam Veteran service? It's a shame that Obama can't sneeze much less "bump" with out it being taken as some sign to terrorists or unpatriotic or (fill in blank). The first think Obama needs to do as POTUS is reform the educational system in this country to help it's citizens from think for themselves and stop them from believing everything on FAUX network.
