Obama over fist bumping?

Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.
Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.

(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?

According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.

As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."

His voice then trailed off.

The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Watch: The famous fist bump

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

If this is all we're concerned about, we're in trouble. BUMP AWAY – everyone does it. He shouldn't bow to people that just don't get it.

nice thought; never has there been a head of state, and their handlers, been as poor at handling the affairs of its nation as this administration; moreover, congress has to be worse. maybe thats' why they are spending so much money on the Mars mission..someplace to go and hide..

Certain news networks made such a big deal about this fist bump thing, no wonder he wouldn't do it. They stated it was a "terrorist gesture", WTH? The lies people make up to cover up their own ignorance and stupidity. It's sickening.

Sad how so many people (use that lightly) can be so hateful to somebody that has the same beliefs as the person they wanted. I truly do wish that all the moron "HRC 08, PUMA, PAC, or whatever the current code for idiot is" supports would just get over THEMSELVES! You would rather mess up you childrens future then except the fact that they person they recieved LESS votes lost. I know crazy world isn't it!?!?!? How can people come on here and just admit to the world that they are brain dead? I liked HRC, but she lost and I really do not care who she was, it was about what she stood for! And to go against that is just beyond me. If she was elected, were you going to change the rules and let her stay in office until she felt like it? Because it sure seem like you would not know what to do with yourselves after her term was up. Personelly I think its the same 20 people that have NO LIFE and just want to mess with people because they are most likely 18-24 and have no clue what the REAL world is like.

EVERYBODY KNOW THAT YOU PEOPLE DID NOT GET WHAT YOU WANTED, SO JUST SHUT UP. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ADULTS AND CHILDREN IS THE FACT THAT ADULTS CAN UNDERSTAND AND TRY NOT CONTINUE TO DIG THEMSELVES INTO A WHOLE!

Obama's fist bumping is very cute. Perhaps Obama wants to reserve it just for the family and I can understand that.

I also like Obama's scolding moveon.org on their comments on General Petraeus. Making fun of people's family names is childish, no matter if it's Petraeus or McCain. Please stick with issues.

Now that the Democrat primary process is winding down, and the media are no longer extolling Obama over Clinton, people are beginning to realize that Obama is in no way qualified to be President.

There are probably a dozen Democrat senators and half as many governors who are more acceptable and would do a better job if they won.

It seems that during the past few election cycles, the Democrats have aleays nominated the weakest candidate. All the Republican candidate needs to do is show up.

The “Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy?” But, “the boy outstretched his [fist] first!” And … Obama said, “NO?!” Please, CNN. You’re tearing my heart out. What a wicked man this Illinois senator must be. Refusing to bump fists with a boy? Even a boy with an outstretched fist, begging for a bump? How cruel and insensitive. And what a flip-flopper. First a bump, then no bump. What gives? Gee, maybe I shouldn’t vote for Obama. Plus, the flag pin thing. I just don’t know …

We finally get one of our brightest running for President instead of the jokes we've had in the last 20 years, and this is what the media reduces him to? Refusing to bump fists with a kid for fear of being labeled a terrorist by the 24-hour GOTCHA machine? What a joke, only it's not funny. I'm hungry for some good old-fashioned meat and potatoes issues, not this fluffy cotton candy garbage. It'll do to your brain what the real stuff does to your body.
