(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?
According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.
As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."
His voice then trailed off.
The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

After all the body language discussions when Hillary and Barak united I wonder what the bump signifies. Boxers always touched gloves before a bout so now that the gloves are off, what now.
I guess since the man can do the bump and the hustle he proves he has rhythm.

Campaigning politicians' hands become sore and swollen from shaking hands so much. This must be especially true for Obama, given that his rallies are larger and more enthusiastic than any ever before seen in American politics. The last thing he needs to add is a few thousand fist bumps a day to that. You people really aren't very bright.

Obama thought it was a bad idea from the very beginning. The footage clearly shows his reluctance to 'bump fists' at his wife's suggestion. I certainly understand his hesitation – it is a somewhat sophomoric gesture. Being that it has reached the level it has in the public consciousness, however, with some even ascribing 'signature' status to 'Obama's' fist bump, he probably ought to roll with it lest he risk the seemingly obligatory accusation of compromising his character for the sake of appearances. In fairness, I would challenge anyone who would level such charges against Obama to honestly deny that they themselves engage in such behaviour on a regular basis to benefit their social, business, or family relationships, or, at the very least, to accompany their admonishments with some substantive argument against his candidacy.
CNN......why not report on McCains fundraiser that sent millions to terriorist in Columbia???....right where McCain is now selling out our jobs.

Please concentrate on the issues and not this downright "silly" stuff. It is indeed unfortunate that Obama cannot express himself without controversy. People who dislike him will jump on anything to disrespect him. No matter what the issue or who supports Obama, those who hate him will continue to hate him and will not change their minds. Conversely, those who like him will continue to do so, and won't change their minds, either. So its a stalemate. Can we move on and not cover these foolish "stories" so the candidates can be themselves without pretense? Go Obama!!!
