Obama over fist bumping?

Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.
Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.

(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?

According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.

As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."

His voice then trailed off.

The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Watch: The famous fist bump

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

    Watch your typo, guys.

The last statement should read: "the fist bump heard ...", not "the first bump..."

Congratulations to Alice in Florida!!!! You have the most ignorant post of the morning.

"He's not just a black and white skunk who stinks to high heaven – he's also a chameleon – keeps changing his colors"

"And if you can't, please be sure to keep enough room under the bus for Michelle – she has a pretty big butt and won't fit if you have to throw fat Oprah under there too"

Good gosh, get real. "Wah wah, she has a big butt throw her under the bus." THIS is the type of nonsense that the Obama-haters complain about? The size of Michelle's butt? Way to go, brainiac!

Where's the politics, candidate platforms and the true things that matter to this country such as the economy? Instead we have a news organization that is more concerned with a "fist bump" instead of what these candidates are going to do about Iraq, Commodities such as oil etc.

Why is this news. Why don't you cover important things, like where each candidate stands on the issues? How they plan to make things better. Now that is what I want to see. Please CNN start covering real news not this worthless fluff.

Tennessee Tuxedo, you hit the nail right on the head. Everything Obama does is a big deal to CNN and it needs to be discussed at length daily for weeks upon end. One of his guys gets a mortagae at a good price and it's an everyday discussion. McCain's people lobby for terrorist organizations and recently it was found one actually made payments to the same group the US lists as a terrorist organization and do you hear about it here? NO

They talked about Michelle Obama and the "patriotic issue for how long. What she said and how it causes problems for Obama.

Did they ever show the video of McCain saying the same thing?

But a fist jab is a big deal because Obama did it. Hey G.W. Bush just did it, I saw the pic, why don't they report on that here too

What we people of color are taught is that, no matter what you do, you will always have to do it twice as good just to be considered equal.

I guess he'll try to win over Republicans by bowing to his wife and she'll curtsey to him. I wish all the nay-sayers would get over the 19th century Elizabethian mentality and join the current world.

Guess he dropped it once someone realized that the fist bumped was actually a mildly disguised Black Panther salute.

It's sad really. I like Obama but he is acting more and more like a politician. Some advisor must have told him to stop doing the fist bump thing because of the whole ridiculous "terrorist fist jab" remark put out by FAUX news aka FOX. It seems like every week Obama loses his non-politian charma that got him the democratic nomination.

Wow, can I work at CNN? I could write some BS about the absolutely irrelevant moments in politician's lives, and I could make it spicy.
