These are the people who protect us. They stand guard so we may sleep. Those who lay their lives on the line and say "Nothing will happen to you; not on my watch", we, the people, salute you.

Hopefully the next president will realize that within this group of brave souls are thousands of veterans, young and old, who once stood their ground so we may never have to, and now do not have a roof over their head, a shirt on their back or food on the plate.

Please do something to help them; for we would not be here today if it wasn't for them; whom we have ignored.

If you wish to make more of this than what it is, fine, but at least have a little respect for the officer and his family. What is up with these motorcycle accidents? We had a cop killed escorting President Bush not long ago here in NM and then the accident with Hillary escort...Crazy. I am glad to hear this officer survived and will be alright. I am glad Barack called him personally to ensure he was O.K.

I smelled the Colombia deal from 2000 miles away!! And as soon as I heard of the rescue, which I was grateful for, I quick second thought made me think that maybe this was all planned. Now that I know the Bush Gov was aware of this all a long, I am very sure the whole thing was planned. There was another story back in 8/07 of an officer in NM that was killed while escorting bush.

I'm particularly interested in HIS answers regarding the use of the armed forces in defense and as an instrument of foreign policy. In particular the future of U.S. exploitation of air and space to defend the nation.

This is a good story for the local paper about the police officer but I don't see what the national news is except for cnn trying to portray the "messiah" Obama as a concerned citizen who worries about his fellow man. Jesus what limits will you go to cnn just to try fixing this election. I bet Obama like anyother politician didn't give the man a second thought until what of the people who runs the strategy said" you need to call this guy and act like you are concerned about him.
