You go Arnold. Use them federal tax dollars of mine and everybody elses to be generous. You people out there don't want to cut trees and brush that are fire hhazards because you might hurt a little mouse or some snail. You don't want to drill of off your coast. If you don't want to clear away fire hazards then pay the price. If you don't want to drill for oil then pay your $5.00 a gallon for gas and quite whinning. As far as I am concerned I am 60 years old and I can count a half of dozen times I have been told that we were fixing to enter another ice age within 25 years , global warming was going to kill me within 15 years and the ozone was being destroyed. Hell I have heard it all over these sixty years and guess what, I am still hear and so is the world. Get a grip. If you want to do something for the environment keep the water clean and the air fresh and forget about that stupid idea of ice ages and global warming. I have already lived through three or four of these disasters according to these genuis from harvard , yale and foriegn proffessors.

As a Californian, I'm actually thoroughly surprised that Schwarzenegger hasn't run the state into the ground. In fact, he's actually done a decent job. Part of it probably has to do with the fact that he's broken with the Republican party in several areas (environmental policy, gay marriage, energy policy, etc). He also differs from most Republican officials in that he actually possesses a conscience and a sense of human sympathy.

Oh, and those who chide California for electing an actor are remarkably quick to forget Reagan. He acted with monkeys, and yet to this day Republicans revere him as some kind of freaky right-wing messiah or something.

I generally align myself with the Dem party, but from what I've seen and read about Arnold, I think we share a lot of the same values: fiscal responsibility, environmental protection and social/personal freedom. It is a shame he is not permitted to run for the Presidency. He might just be good.

Arnold learned his lesson when he held that silly costly measures election a couple of years ago (that I voted in) and all ballot issues were a resounding NO by the California populace.

Since then, hes listened to the people and stopped trying to coax the state to one side or the other, and hes been a better gov, and a better politician by listening to what the people want.

Arnie is a good man, period. As a republican, I can honestly say I've never really seen him as a true republican. But if he has to be placed in either of the main two parties it would Repubs.

I would love to be able to vote for this guy in a Presidential election. He’s hands down the best Republican out there. I’m hoping President Obama will help him push for a constitutional amendment to allow foreign born citizens to run of President as long as they’ve live here for certain number of years let’s say 20? Yes Travis. This state is teetering on a fine line financially. First terms as Governor there was no budget. Where was Arnie? Why he was in Austria visiting relatives and the proposed arena that was being named in his honor. The State of California was in a budget crisis and Arnold decided to leave the country.

The same problems as Governor Gray Davis. Can't raise taxes and can't cut the budget because everything there has to be funded because it was legislated by the voters.

Thankfully he can't be President of the USA. He is trying to get an initiative to modify the Constitution of the United States so he could run for office. Pray this never happens.
