Bush heckled during July 4 speech

Watch protesters interrupt the president's speech.

(CNN) - It's The Fourth of July, but not everyone was in a festive mood when President Bush delivered a speech Thursday at Thomas Jefferson's famous home, Monticello.

The President, who was talking part in Monticello's annual naturalization ceremony, was interrupted several times by protesters.

"War criminal!" one protester repeatedly yelled as she was escorted out by Secret Service members.

"He has brought fascism to this shore," another man yelled.

The president did not appear to acknowledge the protesters.

When you think of the men and women who are over in Irag fighting in this war that never should of been it is very sad. I was hoping Hillary would be the next President as I think she knows more than the others how everyday people feel and that she would of worked her buns off trying to bring the troops home. Now it is between Obama and McCain and I do not like either of them, McCain is more knowledable than Bush but thinks a lot like him, Obama is a no brainer and just a smooth talker who waits till someone speaks and jumps on their ideas. He does not impress me. Also I think the person who interrupted Bush while he gave a speech acted alone, there are lots and lots of people who feel like screaming these days.

    To all hecklers:

I have no idea why you people would wait for a specific day to seize an opportunity to make your case when you have the courts everyday. GO TO THE COURTS and stop using special public forums to make noise. No one takes you seriously. No one knows your name or your specific concerns about the war. Maybe you are just as psycho as the man you are hollering at. Lol!!!!

The Bush Administration and the GOP have brought fascism to this shore.

I love this country, but it's been hijacked and that's what is very frightening

In the words of Ronald Reagan, "are you better off now than you were 4 or even 8 years ago?"

The United States of Torture: It's official.
Many nations aspire to the high standards of the US. Regrettably the US fails to live up to its own standards. Have you guys considered devolution? You get to walk away from all that debt and shame. American? What me? Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Californian Northwest, Liberal Northeast, the South will rise again, then there’s them deadbeats in the middle, anyone want to take pity on them? ... Well, no back of the envelope plan is 100% perfect.

The man (and I use that term loosely) that has destroyed our independence, our freedom and the constitution more than anyone could have imagined does not deserve to speak at any event (I don't care if he is the current President) so bless the hecklers and I look forward to the day when Bush has to answer to God why he did what he did and imagine his surprise when God isn't impressed!

I hope when that man walks out of the White House for the last time, he is met by law enforcement and arrested for crimes against humanity.

Bush and all his cronies need to be behind bars for the rest of their lives.

    Dave in Illinos said:
To bad they aren't shipped over to the Middle East. Then let the spoiled bratts get a taste of real suppression of speech. Bush has set a strategy that resulted in zero attacks on the homeland since 9/11. This is like calling Truman a fascists because he kept the war going to finish off the Axis powers. Liberals are all mouth and no brains!!!!!
Of course there have been no more attacks. The white house hasn't figured out a new one that they could get away with again.
Bush and Cheney should both be tried for war crime and stealing more that a trillion dollars from the taxpeyers thru their no compete awards for their family business's and haliburton and it subs.

retired man is spot on. Too many on the left forget Bush had help going to war. He made the case they looked it over and agreed in most part it was the right call.

Now when things get hot from the anti-war nuts these democrats become gutless wimps like John Kerry and cry i voted for the war but now i'm against it. If Bush lied so did Clinton. Hillary said she spoke to people that worked for her husband and after that she agreed to vote yes for the war. odd how this stuff gets left out.

Yes such a bad country that people are willing to risk their lives to get into it.

people haved died for this country and people are willing to die to keep it safe and yet some of you hate this country as much as you hate Bush. Like the old saying goes if you hate it then get the hell out. no one is holding a gun to your head in order to keep you here!

Generally , I believe that people should be treated respectfully
while making addresses. Let them finish and then let your feelings be known. NOT this "man". AND NOT on this day! He is not deserving of ANYTHING BUT our CONTEMPT.

Anyone else feel like its time for a revolution? Congress and The President need to go because the LAST thing they care about is American Citizens. The Housing Bill Bail-out is an election year joke. The Iraq War has not benefitted any American Citizen and please dont say its provided more security because it has only cost U.S. Solders lives. There has never been an Iraqi attack on U.S. soil. Everything done in Washington D.C. is done for self-serving or party-serving purposes. These people are so out of touch that they dont care about Gas Prices or Food Prices or anything that normal people have to worry about.

George Washington warned us all about National Parties in his farewell address..... He would be ashamed of President Bush and our Congress.

The only freedom of speech that liberals recognize is their own. Everyone else must goose-step to their way of thinking.

We are living in tough times, gas is up, job loss is up and no hope in the mortgage crises, yet we have not suffered another attack in our home land, we can speak freely, and protest freely – America is free thank god to Bush! God bless America and our freedom! Happy Birthday America!

I have pointed out why Bush and his cronies are war criminals.. He LIED about WMD's.. That was the SOLE reason to invade Iraq. What about a LIE do you and MOST Bushies not understand?? Clinton's lie about oral sex didn't kill anyone. Bush's lie about WMD's have lead to 4000+ American's dead. Is that enough for YOU to believe Bush should be tried for war crimes?? Oh lets see, he illegally eaves drops on regular American's.. He strongarms the congress with his threats of vetos and backdoor deals to get Haliburton the ONLY contract to rebuild Iraq.

Spidey, Dave and all the morons who support Bush.. The right is far more whacked then the left. The right (white) wing wants EVERYONE in America to do as they say, act like they want and to restrict your freedoms. You are blinded by the lies and misinformation. WAKE UP AMERICA before its too late.. We haven't been attacked since 9/11, but terrorism around the world is UP. Gas is up because of Bush's dealings in Iraq and his ties to big oil. Cheney's net wealth has increased 80 million in the last 5 years.. Bush is lousy and W stands for WEASEL!! Name 1 good thing Bush has done while in office??? I can't think of anything.

We aren't safer.. The attack will happen and Bush knows it. He's waiting to let it happen again, just like 9-11-2001.. He sat and listened to the kids reading a book that day while America was attacked. He should have maned up and left the kids and tended to America, but just like his days as a pilot he made up excuses!!! Bush is a criminal, not Presidential!! BUSH LIED 4000+ have died!!!

I am die hard democrat and I even get enjoyment out of seeing the misery the republicans have brought to this country. I see more and more republicans losing their jobs and I get excited. They deserve it.
However, Bush is a war criminal and the Democrats are no better. They should have brought Bush and Cheney up on charges and have failed over and over to do so. All those people who write in like the democrats are any better..they are not. Where is the Impeachment? The dems decided not to. Where is the war criminal charges...the dems decided not to.

I am no fan of President Bush but it disappoints me to see him heckled during an Independence Day speech where many immigrants are becoming US citizens. While the protesters may think they are disrespecting Bush, they are also disrespecting their new fellow citizens with such statements. Bottom line, there is a time and a place for everything and that event was certainly not either.

Watch the video, idiots! This woman was not black. And so what if she was!! Stop the racist comments. It is ignorant and appalling that we still have this kind of talk in the USA – and on July 4th, when we should be showing the best our country has to offer!

    Retired man –
Very well put. People talk like we are a monarchy. Bush couldn’t have done most of what has happened over the last 8 years without the help of Congress.

Remember that when you’re all doing the happy dance over Bush’s exit while voting the same idiots back into Congress in November.
