Bush heckled during July 4 speech

CNN

Watch protesters interrupt the president's speech.

(CNN) - It's The Fourth of July, but not everyone was in a festive mood when President Bush delivered a speech Thursday at Thomas Jefferson's famous home, Monticello.

The President, who was talking part in Monticello's annual naturalization ceremony, was interrupted several times by protesters.

"War criminal!" one protester repeatedly yelled as she was escorted out by Secret Service members.

"He has brought fascism to this shore," another man yelled.

The president did not appear to acknowledge the protesters.

Why should Bush bother to acknowledge the hecklers anyway ?
He's spent the better part of eight years refusing to acknowledge ANY truth – or its messengers.

Bush is a war criminal. He lied about the Iraq invasion. Lied about WMD's and he has over 4000+ dead Americans blood on his hands. We have freedom of speech in America or at least we did until he was elected by the Supreme Court. Bush has trampled civil liberties and the constitution. Bush needs to be impeached NOW and must face war crimes charges. Pat you need really need to get a life. Bush is a dictator, nothing less. He eaves drops on Americans phone calls without proper authorization.. His administration spies on Hillary, Barack and many other powerful celebs and probably most law abiding citizens. He has ruined America's standing in the world and made Americans less safe at large. We can't travel in our own country without being suspected of something, all in the name of security. Bush must face the music and his crimes. I wonder who does he see when he looks in the mirror?? Happy 4th to ALL American's except Bush and Cheney!!

Remember when the President of this great country was respected? The country can still be great but, this gang of hoodlums, and those that think they way they do, need to go. The people of this country are angry at Bush and it shows at events like these. There will be more of this, and it's more than deserved.

YOUR freedom stops where MY nose begins. To disrupt a naturalization ceremony that celebrates others' joy at becoming an American citizen - this is NOT what I consider "exercising one's freedom of speech." This is egomania and disrespect towards your fellow man. But the liberals continue to get that one wrong!

I cannot believe that Bush was actually TALKING about freedom of speech as those citizens were being dragged away for exorcising that very freedom.

Clearly you do not have freedom of speech if you disagree with Bush.
Also, your not a patriot if you don't support Bush's WARS.

Next time there will be snipers exorcising preemptive strikes on those citizens Bush feels may speak out in disagreement.

  13. They are right

He is a war criminal and brought facism to America–correct that–he brought it to the White House and then to the business of governing as it is really part of the Conservative Agenda and always has been.

How unfortunate that for many, even if they don't care for the President's policies, that we live in a society that we have lost our ability to respect a president's position. Actually there is very little respect for people toward each other as a whole!

IT IS HUMILIATING & SHAMEFUL BUT PRESIDENT BUSH

HAS NOT LEFT US MUCH TO BE CELEBRATE ABOUT.

AND WHAT'S EVEN MORE SHAMEFUL, IS THAT AMERICANS

WERE THAT EASY TO MANIPULATE, INTO VOTING FOR HIM.

AND TO CONTINUE THE LEGACY OF THAT SHAME MCBUSH IS

USING THE SAME TACTICS THAT WORKED FOR BOTH BUSHES.

Well......that's what happens when you become a President. You either are going to be the best or the worst. Plus, is not like President Bush is the only one to have go through this. This is what our country is since the beginning...

Patrionism is not thinking what is best for us or not, is living on this land where our Founding Fathers made for us 200+ years ago......don't believe me, just ask them why they did this for us...

it's about time people showed how fed up they are with the current administration and its arrogant and draconian policies. the Iraq war has crippled this country needlessly, bin Laden is still on the loose (the CIA unit hunting him was disbanded), the dollar is in the toilet, gas is through the roof, we are deeply in hock to the Chinese government, and America has lost most of the stature it had gained since WW II – all this on his watch. while I applaud the hecklers, I know their cries of indignation are falling on deaf ears. Mr. Bush simply does not care.

Freedom of speech? I guess it depends on who you are saying it about and where you are. You have to make to your freedom of speech known in the voting booths.

These people ought to just shut up and be thankful that someone has kept their pathetic selves safe these last 7 (really 232) years. I am so sick of this self-righteous, mindless opposition to a war and foreign policy (Afghan, Lybia, Iraq, North Korea, soon Iran have been stymied) that has been fantastically successful in historic terms. Thankfully this "war is lost if we implement the surge" (good one, Harry Reid) fanatic fringe of the Democratic Party will cost them the election.
