Bush heckled during July 4 speech

Watch protesters interrupt the president's speech.

(CNN) - It's The Fourth of July, but not everyone was in a festive mood when President Bush delivered a speech Thursday at Thomas Jefferson's famous home, Monticello.

The President, who was talking part in Monticello's annual naturalization ceremony, was interrupted several times by protesters.

"War criminal!" one protester repeatedly yelled as she was escorted out by Secret Service members.

"He has brought fascism to this shore," another man yelled.

The president did not appear to acknowledge the protesters.

This should not be a surprise, a "small man" who thinks God whispers in his ear. Christianity (his self professed faith) has suffered more through George W than any time since the crusades. The whole world is dissillusioned by this man and his kind and "we the people" have become fodder for those who would do us harm.

    What a tragedy...

Bush needs to be impeached , its crazy how he says its a free country it is so let those people speak, its in the constitution the freedom of speech, instead he has secret service get rid of Those hecklers they shouldn't of been taken away in my opinion. I agree he is a war criminal and I am counting down to his departure because he has screwed this country big time. Barack Obama will be a really good president I don't want John Mccain in the white house.

The Republicans have disgraced this country by allowing destroying our constitution. They have violated international treaties and should be tried by the United Nations just as horrific people in other parts of the world are tried and punished.

Fortunately this 4th of July we find ourselves again not attacked on our homeland due to Mr. Bush's foreign policy.

we'll you are Right, we have not been attacked, but since 911 there are more and more people wondering if Bush and Chaney didnt have anything to do with the attacks. lets see Iraq war on terror..ok. if so why fumble the ball on Afghanistan?
    oh, WMD...hmmm none found?
oh, how a bout this one: Saddam is a bad man who kills his people, well that would work if WE didnt put him in power and if other leaders were not doing the same thing...in a round about way isnt Bush doing the same...letting our brave Americans die so EXXON can get their NO BID CONTRACTS...isnt that what John McCain wants to continue?

Democrats. Wrong on eminent domain. Wrong on child rapists. Wrong on the Second Amendment. The first to scream when their First Amendment rights are infringed, and the first to deny those same rights from others. God help us when Kumbaya Obama gets in. Then who will you blame ?

I commend President Bush for his actions today. Most of use would have said something just as hateful back, he did not, rather he tells these new American citizens that we have free speech in America. It is obvious that many of the people here would not be capable of doing so with there hate for a man that they really don't know. Many have talked about the men that escorted the protester(s) away, what would you do if you were making a speech and something like that happened, probably do the same if not worse. I feel that many Americans today are uneducated about the term "impeach". Before everyone goes around using it how about looking it up, what crimes has he committed to stand trial for?

I know this is a conservative country, but that shouldn't mean supporting a candidate based solely on their party affiliation. Why can't people seem to learn anything? Is it beacuse our educational system is so poor that we can not contemplate a world beyond each presidency? We need a revolution in the country. Let's rise above, embrace change, and restore our name in the face of the world. We should all be able to be like this lady who heckled the president without the worry of being hauled off to Guatanamo.

Free speech is only free when everyone is allowed to speak. Those of you who disapprove of protest against the war are, in fact, as complicit in the suppression of speech as any fascist. Those of you who are pinning the blame on Senator Obama are staggering me with your idiocy. Do you mean to tell me that for the past five years, no one has opposed the war, before this new "uppity black" came along? That's ridiculous. It is no wonder we are repeating the same mistakes made in Vietnam – those who are ignorant of their country's dark history are condemned to repeat the same mistakes, after all.
Happy fourth of July, War Criminal Bush.

Mark in Portland since thats what PDX is. Bush is responsible for 9/11. He knew the "terrorists" were here in America, he had the fbi tracking them and they could have gotten them IF he really wanted. Don't get me started on the alleged plane that hit the Pentagon.. If you look at the video of the "plane" you see NO tail of a plane at all. It was a missile launched to divert attention. What did the Twin Towers and the Pentagon have in common? NOTHING!!! Bush needed an excuse for invading Iraq, his only hope was to LIE and tie Iraq and 9/11 together. Which he tried and failed at miserably. He has tried and failed miserably at EVERYTHING he does. He failed as owner of the Texas Rangers. He failed as a service member. He has ultimately failed as the President.

Voting for McCain is the worst move next Bush this country could do. We will end up in WW3 and be thrust further into a 3rd world status if McShame is elected. This country is headed down the wrong path and Obama is our only chance to correct it.

"Simple minded goobers," Ridgeway? Have you read the Nuremberg Principles lately? Bush is indeed a war criminal, and it is the duty of every U.S. citizen to hold him, his cabinet, and functionaries to account.

BRAVA and BRAVO to the protesters who spoke truth to power.

It will be with a tear in my eye that I will listen to the Star-Spangled Banner today. America now tortures peolpe as policy (but we just don't admit it is torture). We have suspended our right of Habeas Corpus (but we just don't call them "citizens"). We eavesdrop illegally (but we have made it "legal"). We have sold out our future to big oil companies (but it has been done to "help" Americans by supplying them with that addictive substance, oil). We are trashing the environment (with the "Blue Skies" and "Healthy Forests" initiatives). Yes is no, up is down, left is right, and war is now unending, soon to become "peace". We have met the enemy, and he is us, with a big boost from George W. Bush. Could it really be that fear of our enemies could be responsible for all this? Could it really be taht we are all that "terrorized"?

    Happy 4th of July, everyone.

I am disgusted by the blind faith that America is still a great country! Can you name one thing we are #1 in anymore??? When I was growing up I was told that they hate us for our freedom and that we are infidels! Well If that was true then the terrorists have won, thanks to the Bush Administration! If you think you have freedom you are sadly mistaken! That right was taken from us at the signing of the Patriot Act. Some people in this country act like the parent of a spoiled brat, who refuses to see that their child has done anything wrong! Wake up People!!! I love what this country once stood for and I believe in my heart that we can be great again! However, if we are going to be great again, then we need to acknowledge our faults now! I think that the republican followers really do not see what has happened to this once great country, and that is very sad! If they could only remove the republican blinders they would weep for this country! Also, for all those out there that plan to vote republican for president based solely on the fact that they don't want the Dem's to take their guns! I say to you name me one Police officer or military person that would be willing to go to your house and take your gun from you when you have done nothing wrong! It will not happen! This time around vote for more then just your right to bare arms vote for the troops serving over seas, vote for the people in America who have served this country and have become seriously ill, vote for improving international relations, vote for stem cell research and save a life, vote for fair wages, vote for the environment, vote to keep jobs in America, vote for child health care! We are the United States of America and I think it is about time we acted like we were United!

That is all the Obama people know.

    blah blah blah

How do you know these protesters were Obama supporters? Were they wearing "Obama '08" bumper stickers on their foreheads? It seems like you will do anything to throw your hatred of Obama into other people's faces, even bringing it up where it is completely irrelevant.
