To Totally neutral:
You say that Bush has done nothing without Congress' approval.
Where have you been???
Have you not heard of his "Executive signings"?
Are you unaware of his appointments while Congress isn't in session?
Have you not heard that he has lied repeatedly to Congress (as well as the American citizens)?

To several others:
Do you really believe that liberal Democrats are the only citizens that are mourning our lost rights?
By Republicans standards, Bush can't even be called a Republican.
Their platform USED to be: smaller government, fiscally conservative, with more personal freedoms, not less.

To me, the only thing more frightening than having Bush in office, is to realize that there are that many ignorant people votering in our country!
If you are going to vote, and I hope you do, please do some research and make your vote an informed one!

It's a good thing that as we celebrate Independence Day here in America, we know that our country continues to uphold and respect the freedom of speech guaranteed to its citizens by the founding fathers in the Bill of Rights...

*watches video of guards dragging protesters away

Oh, hmm...okay, well, at least America still has the best hot dogs in the world!

Shame on you CNN! For only showing the Republican and Democratic candidates in your "Election Center".

California has a GREEN PARTY and in that state Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez are running. THIS IS NEWS!

Shame on you for fooling americans into thinking that they only have two choices.

Why not do an analysis on how every hungry person and homeless person in this country could be fed and housed if OBAMA spent his multi millions on it instead of blowing that on an election?

P.S. - I love how there are EXXON MOBILE ads on your election center! I like to know who owns our votes!!

Regarding Bush and the protesters:

As much as I despise this demented freak of nature, I know that he too loves this country dearly. He can't differentiate the country from the symbols, the constitution from corporatocracy , but I think somewhere in the part of his brain which has not degenerated to reptilian, he may have a vestigial sense of 'us'. That wee little bit was speaking to those new citizens, welcoming them to our beloved shores, presenting the open arms we all spread.

As a welcomer, he represented us all. I don't care what level of retard he is, he was my doorman to greet these new members of our society.

To mar this occasion with protests against the man when he was trying his best to be the greeter for the nation is inexcusable.

Where on Earth has our sense of decency and decorum gone? A republic as old as ours should be able to display a little grace, particularly on occasions such as this.

Is this too difficult a concept for people to grasp? That regardless of what one may think of the messenger, it's the message he's carrying that counts.

From what I've read, Bush responded that the newcomers were experiencing America's free speech firsthand. Then the free speechers were hauled away in handcuffs. Oh, my Sweet Flaming Jesus, what has become of us.

Not only should these citizens have been removed for disrupting a presidential speech, but heckling the president while he is giving a 4th of July speech is outright unpatriotic. Protesting would be a good way to exercise freedom of speech, not slandering America's leader from the crowd on independence day.

Someone wrote:
"Bush went to war - who approved it? Congress
Bush signed the Patriot Act.
Who approved it? Congress"

That's right. The Republicans and the Dems are owned by the same corporate interests. Until we get third parties in the arena, we have no hope for a larger debate!

And Actually, Barbara Lee of Oakland did not vote for the war! Don't forget!!!

What is it you are so scared of that you feel Bush is the only answer for? That you are so willing to give up your rights and freedom for? That you are willing to give up our dignity for? That you feel anyone who doesn't think like you is at fault for?

EPA deliberately witholding the health hazards that are now killing first responders on 9/11.Ignoring warnings about hurricane Katrina, going missing for 5 days before bothering to show up.Abandoning most of them even now.Commiting most military resources for his personal war in Iraq instead of continuing an all-out pursuit of the man that actually killed americans on american soil and spending more than a half a TRILLION dollars on the fallacy of "winning the war on terror".A million american families losing their homes.Oil prices that are destroying business after business and unemployment the highest seen in decades and rising every day.The Midwest drowning in flood water and destroying crops as well as the homes of uncounted more americans while he was on his farwell tour.

The man and his administration have been the greatest tragedy this country has seen since the Civil War.He should be tried and executed, not merely heckled!

The current administration has done more to stifle freedom of speech in America than any of its predecessors. For his illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, for sacrificing the city of New Orleans and for the continuing violation of human rights at home and abroad, George Bush deserves to be heckled at the very least.

Call the President a War Criminal! How very intelligent! Freedom of speech has no bounds, or does it? If the "N" word is used, it is not freedom of speech, it is racist or worse. If you are going to fall back on the the constitution for what you want to say, everybody should have the same freedom; or no one should. Freedom for all; not just for some. Not very original, but it works.

The freedom of speech we enjoy is not absolute. It must be excercised in the proper place at the proper time. Hecklers are ALWAYS dragged out, no matter who they're heckling, because they choose to try to excersie their freedoms at the wrong time. All that being said, it's about time Bush starts to hear from the people instead of the fat old men, like Rove, who have surrounded him during his administration. Hopefully, history will treat him with fairness, and represent him for what he is. A president who, through personal ego and arrogance, has almost ruined this country. I sincerely hope that once he leaves office, he is prosecuted often and repeatedly, so he can feel some of the misery he has given to the American people. If he ever drives down my street, I will be sure to let him know of my opinion of him....with a raw egg or two....

bush does not dictate to congress he can plead his case but ultimately congress republicans and democrats decide. so lets all share the blame where it's due and while were at it maybe thank them for keeping the other terrorist out of this country. maybe while you think of what to do with all the negative inside you you can count all the hundred of thousands of people saddam didn't get to kill because he was running for his life. and maybe you can say a prayer for all those who died at the hands of people like him it's easy to blame and point fingers when you sit snug and protected in your house hypocrite

Dissent is patriotism. Disrespect is not.

By expressing their "right to free speech" in this manner the hecklers were infringing upon that of President Bush which is why they were removed. I have yet to see a story about how the secret service is stopping public gatherings critical of the President so no one has actually lost their freedom of speech.

Also hecklers have been removed from speeches given by Obama and Clinton since the beginning of this campaign.

I love it when people speak out against what they consider to be injustice. I think it is wonderful. I do, however believe it needs to be done respectfully.

Of course Kool Aid sipping brain washed libs don't see it like that. You want to say what you want when you want how you want and you don't care whose rights you trample in the process.

Worst President Ever (and I don't make that statement lightly) has no business giving a speech at Monticello. It's these Hecklers right to look and sound foolish, but no sympathy for Bush, he deserves every grey hair on his head, counting the days until January 20th, 2009!

If any President deserves to be heckled, it is George W. Bush. What a total hypocrite! He is a disgrace to the presidency and to this country! Bravo to the hecklers! Boo to those brain dead peons who haul away hecklers! The constitution is again being violated by punishing hecklers who are supposed to have free speech rights. It's too bad that more Americans don't have the guts and intelligence to vote for a Presidential candidate who is not a part of the establishment in Washington -- like Ralph Nader.

Some of you folks obviously have a political agenda. You make up stuff to make the man look bad. Pathetic. While there is free speech in this country....there are limits. The people who attended the speech had a right to hear the speaker they came to hear. If the protesters wanted to be heard, they should have set up their own speech....out by the dumpsters!

I understand the outrage many citizens feel. Some people seize the opportunity to air their feelings directly to those responsible for this current state of affairs and shout out. I understand the outrage many citizens feel when blogging. Thankfully this news article was posted. Much better than filling bandwidth with staged pictures of this President and fluffy pictures of his doing something patriotic with adoring crowds cheering him on.

He should be lucky the salmonella scare has cleared the grocery stores of tomatoes. LOL.

I bet all these people who hate Obama are sore losers all across the board. They couldn't lose well in a game of Monopoly. People, Hillary told so many lies on the campaign trail and was caught in those lies as she told them!! We need Hillary? I'd rather a presidential candidate realize he has miscalculated on certain policies than to tell a flat lie about what you did on a certain day to make you sound more qualified than you are. At least Barack acknowledges that he doesn't know all the answers. I really don't have a problem with Hillary. Aside from the lies I think she would be a good president but don't hate Barack because he beat her!!! Bunch of freakin babies. She lost a month ago!!!!!!!!

PS- You folks that think the president is a war criminal and should be impeached ought to make it happen. The Democratic-Socialist Party controls congress. Wouldn't they have the votes? Oh yeah, lest we forget, they keep mysteriously voting for his war policy!

How soon people forget that the President, CONGRESS AND THE SENATE all authorized the war. No major attacks here since 9/11/01.

If we aren't so lucky with the next administration, these same lemmings will be begging for Bush to come back.

Modern liberalism is not a "disease." Rather it is perennial adolescence. It looks at the world through utopian lenses and ignores both human nature and thousands of years of history. Yell and scream when you don't like something. Have a tantrum when things don't go your way. Mock your elected leaders when you're in disagreement. Push for state collectivism, but call the president a Nazi or fascist. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Hey folks, big surprise here, but your president is not moving out of the country (liberals did threaten to run away when he was elected--twice). He's not going on trial. He's not going to jail. He works within the framework of a constitutional government and has limited power, remember? Congress has much more authority. My suggestion- cover your ears and hold your breath until November. You're really going to be raving mad if McCain is elected.

If someone yelled, "you tax-raising, corrupt, anti-American socialist" at an Obama speech, you can bet they'd cart him off too.

Bush has not been a great president, but his failure has been his willingness to weaken his positions in the face of opposition rather than strengthen them. We should send more forces to the Middle East, we should have much lower taxes to avoid recession, etc. Obama will not get elected because the uneducated and emotional people who support him are not numerous enough to send us into anoher Jimmy Carter debacle.

I hope that he and his gang (Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Rove) are brought to justice one day and convicted. They are war criminal and have the blood of 4113 American soldiers and thousands of Iraqi on their dirty hands.

Bush went to war - who approved it? Congress
Bush signed the Patriot Act.
Who approved it? Congress
In the first six years of his administration gas went up a
dollar– what changed in the past 2 years to cause the price of gas to double in that amount of time? Congress

If those of you who believe that the President is a War Criminal - what does that leave the members of Congress who voted to go?

and yea - the lying thing -if that were true - why did some congressmen like Jay Rockerfeller say that there was not enough information to go to war- In other words — if he lied - why did so many people say that the US should not go to war?

Those of you who are claiming that the US is now a terrible plac e-you miss the whole irony of this post - they disrupped a ceremony to bring in New Citizens…. if we are so horrible - why are they having such a problem processing the paperwork for all of the people who want to become Americans?
