You say that Bush has done nothing without Congress' approval.
Where have you been???
Have you not heard of his "Executive signings"?
Are you unaware of his appointments while Congress isn't in session?
Have you not heard that he has lied repeatedly to Congress (as well as the American citizens)?

To several others:
Do you really believe that liberal Democrats are the only citizens that are mourning our lost rights?
By Republicans standards, Bush can't even be called a Republican.
Their platform USED to be: smaller government, fiscally conservative, with more personal freedoms, not less.

To me, the only thing more frightening than having Bush in office, is to realize that there are that many ignorant people votering in our country!
If you are going to vote, and I hope you do, please do some research and make your vote an informed one!

Regarding Bush and the protesters:

As much as I despise this demented freak of nature, I know that he too loves this country dearly. He can't differentiate the country from the symbols, the constitution from corporatocracy , but I think somewhere in the part of his brain which has not degenerated to reptilian, he may have a vestigial sense of 'us'. That wee little bit was speaking to those new citizens, welcoming them to our beloved shores, presenting the open arms we all spread.

As a welcomer, he represented us all. I don't care what level of retard he is, he was my doorman to greet these new members of our society.

To mar this occasion with protests against the man when he was trying his best to be the greeter for the nation is inexcusable.

Where on Earth has our sense of decency and decorum gone? A republic as old as ours should be able to display a little grace, particularly on occasions such as this.

Is this too difficult a concept for people to grasp? That regardless of what one may think of the messenger, it's the message he's carrying that counts.

From what I've read, Bush responded that the newcomers were experiencing America's free speech firsthand. Then the free speechers were hauled away in handcuffs. Oh, my Sweet Flaming Jesus, what has become of us.

Not only should these citizens have been removed for disrupting a presidential speech, but heckling the president while he is giving a 4th of July speech is outright unpatriotic. Protesting would be a good way to exercise freedom of speech, not slandering America's leader from the crowd on independence day.

The freedom of speech we enjoy is not absolute. It must be excercised in the proper place at the proper time. Hecklers are ALWAYS dragged out, no matter who they're heckling, because they choose to try to excersie their freedoms at the wrong time. All that being said, it's about time Bush starts to hear from the people instead of the fat old men, like Rove, who have surrounded him during his administration. Hopefully, history will treat him with fairness, and represent him for what he is. A president who, through personal ego and arrogance, has almost ruined this country. I sincerely hope that once he leaves office, he is prosecuted often and repeatedly, so he can feel some of the misery he has given to the American people. If he ever drives down my street, I will be sure to let him know of my opinion of him....with a raw egg or two....

Dissent is patriotism. Disrespect is not.

By expressing their "right to free speech" in this manner the hecklers were infringing upon that of President Bush which is why they were removed. I have yet to see a story about how the secret service is stopping public gatherings critical of the President so no one has actually lost their freedom of speech.

Also hecklers have been removed from speeches given by Obama and Clinton since the beginning of this campaign.

I love it when people speak out against what they consider to be injustice. I think it is wonderful. I do, however believe it needs to be done respectfully.

Of course Kool Aid sipping brain washed libs don't see it like that. You want to say what you want when you want how you want and you don't care whose rights you trample in the process.

If someone yelled, "you tax-raising, corrupt, anti-American socialist" at an Obama speech, you can bet they'd cart him off too.

Bush has not been a great president, but his failure has been his willingness to weaken his positions in the face of opposition rather than strengthen them. We should send more forces to the Middle East, we should have much lower taxes to avoid recession, etc. Obama will not get elected because the uneducated and emotional people who support him are not numerous enough to send us into anoher Jimmy Carter debacle.
