From

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) – The Obama traveling press corps may have thought their mechanical issues were over for the day when they arrived safely Monday night in Atlanta following a day when the campaign plane made an unplanned stop in St. Louis because of problems in the tail cone.

Not so.

A small group of pool reporters were trapped inside a bus after the first of two Monday evening Atlanta fundraisers when the bus’s electronics shut down, locking the doors.

The lucky few reporters not yet on the bus continued on to the next fundraiser in a staff van as Obama’s motorcade zoomed off.

The stranded reporters eventually exited on the bus driver’s side and made their way back to the hotel in the hotel’s shuttle.

PUMAs: Way to build a platform that preaches hate. You remind me of the Westboro Baptists. Speaking loudly and carrying a small twig.

You think this is a game? My kids know better than you: if you're beaten, you don't hold a grudge. If you don't like the person who won, okay. But don't sit around spewing hatred.

#1 statement coming out during the primaries: "I'm for Hillary because I can't stand how rude/hateful the Obama supporters are."

So… now that you're doing the same… methinks thou art a hypocrite.

If thoughts were pennies, you'd be in serious need of a stimulus check.

Obama is very much Presidential Vote Mccain is a big mistake because we will have another Bush term just look at the results of this economy Mccain said he donot know nothing about the ecomomy and for Mccain to say something like that is totally a disappointment.

Robert   July 8th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

I think it very telling that NC Resident get upset about all the name calling, and attacks ect, ect, on Obama. What about the attacks on McCain? Better yet what about the fact you see a 30 to 1 ration most times on CNN for people making comments against McCain vs. in defence of. Affrimative action hard at work, or just the liberal left ganging up on Sen. McCain. So if your young, HALF black, and change direction like a weather vane, errrrr excuse me " refine your position" every day like Obama your owed being president. Over 20 yrs. publice service, service to your country in the armed forces, and even almost giving your life for America dosen't quite cut it. It's the old and white factor hard at work! I wish the "kool-aid" generation that Obama is creating would choke on it. It's a bitter pill to swallow when your canidate is an empty suit with even more empty words. You think being black in Americaa is so hard? Try being Native American, they don't all get casino money, or electricity, or running water, or schools, the list goes on,and on.

Jack   July 8th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Kind of like locking the bishops in the basement while the church votes more power to Queen Elizabeth I, don't you think.

Oh, and why is it when there is any story posted out here about Obama, the postings are instantly mean-spirited and vicious against each other?

I am having trouble coming to terms with the notion of voting for Obama, not because I am a racist or a sore loser, or what ever other nasty you wish to throw. I am having troble because, as the foriegn press reported last summer, he is not standing for all the things he said he would. The American press REFUSED to publish any of those statements - as they came out of the Obama camp.

I guess this is why our forefathers had the wisdom to allow write-in votes. I plan on using mine for Hillary. Oh sure, they will tell you she is polarizing, but that is because she doesn't flip-flop.

You may all insult me now if you wish. Meanwhile, I've got better things to do than worry about it.

Jan, Knoxville, TN   July 8th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

I certainly hope the Secret Service is looking into this matter carefully. I hope Senator Obama has safe landings through the rest of the campaign. Looking forward to an Obama presidency beginning January 2009!

OBAMA WAS RIGHT VOTING NO ON THE IRAQ WAR AND HE IS RIGHT ABOUT A WITHDRAWAL TIME TABLE. THE IRAQ PRIME MINISTER MALAKI AND THE IRAQ PEOPLE WANT A TIME TABLE OF U.S. AND COALITION TROOP WITHDRAWALS BY THE END OF THIS YEAR. BUSH AND MCCAIN ARE VERY ANGRY, BUT THE PRIME MINISTER OF IRAQ SAYS THE U.S. WILL NOT CONTROL WHEN THEY WILL LEAVE. SINCE MCCAIN SAYS THE SURGE IS WORKING I DON'T THINK IT'S UNREASONABLE TO HAVE A TIME TABLE, SO WHAT'S THEIR POINT?

Obamites, I think Giovanni was being tongue in cheek. Lighten up already.

NC resident. Maybe if 70% of black children weren't born out of wedlock, and blacks didn't drop out of school at twice the rate of whites, and a large percentage of black men didn't commit crimes and get incarcerated, then blacks would get ahead. Stop whining. 90% of what happens to a person in life is a result of their own intelligence, initiative and hard work. The black community needs to stop blaming others for their own failings. Electing Obama isn't payback for real or imagined prejudice. You are only entitled to what you earn by your own hard work.

Geri   July 8th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Haven't we had enough about Obama and his personal life and his woes of trouble with planes and now the bus. Its time we stop putting the man on a pedestal and get back to the basics. Issues like economy, foreclosures, cost of gas and on and on and on. Too much frivolous crap about Obama and no substance. I'm a democrat but enough is enough. Giovanni, rachel and alicia:

1) Obama doesn't need townhall meetings. McCain does, because it is a cheap way to get publicity if you spent all your money being a maverck to get the nomination of the republican party, or if you don't know how to run a contested campaign (McCain hasn't run a contested campaign. His wife's money and his father's relations always made sure he wasn't contested for senator). The first constested thing he ever ran for was presidential and he lost. He lost against the chimp bush. remember?

2)Republicans are running away from their party and even, McCain doesn't go through the same door as bush, their crown jewell, whom they championed for president twice.

3) Twice the country, with the republicans, trusted them to give us their best. and what we got was war and more wars, debt and more debts, economic crisis and more crisis, Katrina and more Katrina, dead soldiers and more dead soldiers, mortgage crisis and more, and lies after lies.

Fool me once, but twice? that was a blow. What do you call someone who has been fooled 3 times? Not even the saying had a name for it.

I think the rest of the world will be calling anyone who has been fooled 3 times "American", and we will not blame them: We deserve it if we get fooled a 3rd time.

What can anyone do to save McCain's campaign? What can any republican do, not just McCain, to get elected to any office this year?

I am affraid nothing. They messed up our country and emptied our treasury for 8 years, enriched the war industry, and just so that oil profits can keep climbing at the expense of the lives of our soldiers, and the american people, and of course the Iraqis victims.

That is what the republicans have in stock to sell this year to americans against their vote. Now if anyone can sell you to buy more of that, either they are a champion sales man, or you are too stupid to know what's good for you, even if you are a republican.

ARB why does he have to be a lowlife. It's okay to call him names such as that and other ways people refer to him but then when people call McCain old people have a hissy fit. Come on now, leave the name calling out of this. If you don't like him don't vote for him, but don't stoop yourself soo low to call him names when he is a father of two trying to make a difference no matter which way you see it. I think it's said today in this world that people still have prejudice inside of them but they are the first ones that talk about democracy for Iraq and other muslim countries but yet we are suffering our own democracy right here in America.
Read some of the blogs and listen how people describe him and his wife. It's despicable and ashame because they are the same people who say America is the land of the great, free and patriotism. I guess blacks aren't included in your land of patriotism and democracy. The way people treat Obama makes me realize how much some people don't want blacks to advance. That isn't a myth that blacks can't express themselves.

how come whenever something happens to barack obama its always the republicans fault mitchell?….get a life….republicans have better things to do than waste their time messing with that lowlife obama's bus.

richard   July 8th, 2008 11:30 am ET

unless those reporters had to fight for their lives to get out of that bus, resorting to canabalism at times, i don't think this is a legitimate news story.

SOMETHING FISHY GOING ON IM SMELL RATS!!!

CliffordtheBigRedDog   July 8th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Obama zoomed off and left this traveling press corp trapped on the bus.

Isn't that ironic..

mitchell hussein martin   July 8th, 2008 11:25 am ET

this is all a republican conspiracy to confuse the electorate.they slip a couple of mechanics in the press pool, then sabotage the planes and buses.

Sen.John McCain't!   July 8th, 2008 11:22 am ET
